Today I went into this Boot Barn with a decent amount of resolve to buy a hat. Not just any hat, a well molded black hat, with a colorful woven banding that popped to my eyes. However, this hat was not for me. As I approached boot barn, I had noticed what seemed to be a houseless person on their knees outside of the display windows. They were solemnly praying, wishing with their whole heart that they could have the hat that was in front of them. This was someone who genuinely knew that this was the one thing they wanted more than anything else. I knew that I was placed there in that moment to show him that life isn’t always that bad. I appreciated this man’s resolve, especially when he politely asked me if I would help him procure the hat. Who was I to say no to him? I had the money, what is giving away 150-200$ to someone to make their life just a little better? That doesn’t matter to me. It wouldn’t have made a dent in my pocket regardless of if I spent 200-1000$ What matters was the employee interaction I had once I went into the store. I asked about the pricing on the specific hat, and asked if they had it in black for the man who had told me his size and color preference, of whom I wanted to gift this hat. The older, short haired employee near the live edge table, located by the front of the store, gave me very little information about the hat that I was interested in, or any other banding configurations that I could procure in addition to the base hat. I asked about band pricing, he walked away and then briefly showed me the hanging bands, with no prices. I asked if there was any others, and I continued to get a robotic “No” as an answer for basically every question I had about the details of this hat that I was very seriously intending on buying. I was a little confused by then I realized. It became clear that this employee has connected the dots on my interaction with the man who was eagerly waiting outside, and it completely shifted his tone to that of unprofessionalism and blatant judgment. Very little help, none of my questions or asks of modification on banding were answered, and I was completely dismissed on how I could make my purchase happen. Is my money not good enough just because I’m buying it for a houseless person? Do other human beings not deserve nice things? I did not know what the issue was, but it completely eliminated my ability to procure the hat this man wanted. It left a bad taste in my mouth for this particular location, it absolutely ruined a different persons day, and it reminded me that greedy and awful people are eroding the fabric of the USA’s ability to just be happy on a daily basis. I will never be returning to this location, and I implore anybody else to recognize this interaction before they decide to go spend their hard earned money here.

Called the store to ask if they had something in stock. The guy told me no but to come in and they can order it. I went in to order it and told the girl i’d like to order the hat and she was extremely rude and said she couldn’t do that! That’s fine but her attitude was awful. Then there are two other employees who were helping other customers and she yelled at the two girls that they need to be circling her at the front in case she needed help. I was looking around and she came past me with the most nastiest face. Just over all she was extremely rude to customers and staff. Just disappointed because all the other times i’ve been there it’s always been helped and always felt welcomed.

Wow! I haven’t had this great of a retail experience in awhile so I have to write a review. I’ve never been in a Boot Barn but the selection was overwhelming for boots, hats, belts. I have been wanting boots for awhile but was unsure of what I needed. The nice lady that helped me, Darcelle, was a wealth of knowledge and so helpful in asking the right questions to make sure I was getting the best pair for my needs. But she also was not clingy and left me alone so I could go back and forth over the 8 pairs I tried on. Then she helped me find a great hat that I didn’t know I needed. Highly recommend for great customer service and great product.

Portland, Oregon store. I was looking for a very hard to find pair of boots and Whitney tried her best to find them...she even offered to help in my search to call other stores and promised to call me back if she finds them in my size. Aside from their store in Olathe, KS, I'm extremely impressed with the customer service that I've received from every store I've called and visited. As I said on another review (different location), Boot Barn's customer service is on the level of Chick-Fil- A and Culver's (the burger restaurant). A++++

My friend had to return his boots and the staff was beyond friendly and exchanged the defective merchandise even though it would have been easy to say no. I was beyond impressed with this location and would recommend it to anyone in need of some boots or a nice cowboy hat …

Kelsi, the gal who shaped my friends hat was just cute as a country button! She was super friendly, helpful, told us about multiple services and just seems like a beautiful person. Give that girl a raise!

The gal who helped us today was absolutely awesome. Thank for helping exchange the terrible Cody James boots. Your customer services probably solving skills are impeccable. Ty House #50

Came in ready to spend several hundred dollars on boots. Got completely ignored for about 15 minutes. Do better guys. The shoe store across the lot got my money.

Love this store! Service is excellent. But when you pay $150.00 for a crocodile belt you surly don't expect it to come stapled together.

  • Martin Vlcek

A wonderful store full of treacherous American shoes, hats and other things. I bought a beautiful hat. I love the place.

I want to love this place. But some of the staff are the exact opposite of southern hospitality.
