I’ve been coming to Dr. Shatto for many many years. I came in for a normal cleaning and ending up needing 3 fillings. I was able to get an appt the very next day. I only had to wait about 5 mins before being seen each time. Gelvia is an awesome hygienist, very meticulous, gentle and listens to my concerns. Dr. Shatto is also such an incredible dentist. He’s always so patient and makes sure you feel comfortable and explains what he’s doing and checks on you while he’s working. My procedure was completely pain free and I felt very relaxed. Dr. Shatto takes the time to make sure all is perfect before you leave which is so nice not feeling like you are being rushed out the door. The office staff is very helpful in explaining all the costs and breakdown of the prices. Everyone is just so nice, very much like a family like environment.

I just wanted to post a review because it was needed. Dr. Shatto and his staff at both locations are first class people. Friendly down to earth and down right funny and real. The staff at northwest hwy are professional and treat patients with the up most respect. Brandy the tech over there is far the best at her profession, makes you feel comfortable at easy and results are 1st class. Dr Lagrange was awesome in her own right gentle but effective. I recommend you use the 1st class service for all your dental needs. Sunnyvale location is as top notch as well. Linda , Jessica, k Kelly and all the staff so nice and funny but professional as well. Dr Shatto what a welcome find in a dentist explains procedures and makes sure patient is comfortable with his procedures. My wife and I couldn't ask for a better experience and dental care.

I went to Dr. Shatto because I was in need of dentures and did not have a regular dentist. From the very first phone call I felt like I was their family. When I made my first appointment the receptionist ended our call with, "I can't wait to meet you!" Upon my first visit I was warmly greeted and introduced to everyone. (And by the way, that receptionist also told me she was so glad we got to meet!) I've had a few visits since then, and each visit everyone is incredibly warm and accommodating. Dr. Shatto & his staff are patient and they want you to be informed. Not once have I felt like they were rushing, or that I was being silly for asking questions. I highly recommend this office if you are looking for a wonderful dentist.

This was my first time at American Family Dental and I couldn't have been happier with my experience. They are so informative the entire time that when they ask you, "do you have any questions?" You have NONE! They really want you to have the best and most knowledgable experience from the beginning to the end. Very welcoming and warming during the entire process. As I left the one working up front said, "thanks for being apart of the family!" Truely and experience you wont get everywhere and truely appreciated. Went to this office to obtain my lifetime Fastbraces warranty. Dr. Shatto who did the last 3 of my treatments would not honor it. Offered a discount of $1000 vs. $5000 worst warranty I've ever heard of. In my case I need braces again after a year! Retainer was lost and in 3 days (over the weekend with offices closed)my teeth shifted to the point where braces were required again. There satisfaction warranty is not that all its a discount. They expected me to invest another $1K in this product! Not at all. I recommend traditional as time is the true measure of success. Dr. Shatto did my last treatment and would not stand behind his treatment or work. Stay away and save thousands!

After my dentist retired, I needed to find a new one and was recommended to Dr. Cary Shatto. I came in for a cleaning and have two fillings replaced. I was very impressed by how courteous and professional the entire staff was. There was no downtime during my visit and I was made to feel comfortable the moment I walked in the office. The patient rooms have TV sets but what I got a kick out of was the ceiling light covers - photos of clouds with palm leaves. I felt like I was laying at the pool looking up at the sky. Yes, that's a little thing but all the little things added up to a pleasant experience (as far as dentists visits go). =)

Posting after my 3rd visit, and every time has been great! First visit back in 2018 I went for a regular cleaning and my hygienist (I forget her name but she’s great will edit if I remember) explained why my gums were in bad shape and put me on a quarterly cleaning schedule for a year which has been helpful. I switched insurances after the first visit and didn’t see them as a provider I could select via the insurance portal. Went anyway and they were able to tell me they accepted my insurance, so definitely call and ask if you’re unsure.

Dr. Shatto and Dr. LaGrange have been my dentists for years. Not only are they honest, they do amazing work. I had my first root canal and crown and was extremely nervous. Dr. LaGrange was so gentle I literally had NO pain thru the entire procedure. The office staff are hands down the most friendly women I've ever met when going to a dentist or Doctor. They really seem to enjoy their work environment which in my opinion speaks volumes! I live in Plano and drive 30 minutes just to go to this practice. Highly recommended!

Wow. I cannot say enough kind words about my experience with Dr. Shatto and his staff. Not only are they caring and genuine people (the kind of folks you'd like to have dinner with) they are also REALLY good at their jobs. I had to get fillings done and was a little anxious because with other dentists, this process caused some pain. With this dentist and staff, i felt no pain! The only thing I felt was cared for. My experience at American Family Dental was great! I loved the service! Jose was fast and efficient and every appointment was less that 30 minutes long. I had my braces on for just 19 months! I haven’t been to the dentist in 15 years. I was very nervous. They had excellent “bedside” manners. They didn’t make me feel ashamed at all. They were very upfront with the pricing. They worked with my insurance and may payment arrangements for what the insurance didn’t cover. I could not be happier with my new smile. I still have more work to do but I am glad I found a dentist and an awesome staff that I would recommend to anyone!!!!

It’d been far too long between my last teeth cleaning and today (a year and 3 months to be exact)! The gal who cleaned my teeth was VERY thorough and encouraging; saying that I CAN improve the health of my gums! She was great! Encouraged me to come at least every 3 months! Oh crud! Just remembered I forgot to get the perioguard mouth wash! Helps with overall health and maintenance of teeth and gums! Back to their office I go!

Every Employee is very caring, sweet, respectful,gentle, & talks/tells you everything that they're doing where you can understand what is going on instead of medical terms. When they're finished doing your X-rays & Exam they give you a printout of everything that needs to be done with the prices of each item, what your out of pocket cost will be (if any), & what our Dental Insurance pays. You can get an appointment set quick.

This was my first time at this office for a routine exam and cleaning. I was impressed from the moment I walked in the door. I was greeted kindly and after my cleaning and exam, everything was explained to me thoroughly and I was even asked if I had any questions. As of late, my dental office experiences have been cold and robotic. I was made to feel at ease here, will definitely recommend them to friends and family.

From start to finish everything was great! The receptionist is very kind and helpful, she helped us to get two appointments last minute and went out of her way to do so. Dr Shatto and staff are wonderful. They are informative and educational in explaining what’s going on inside your mouth. They work with your insurance making the dental experience seamless. They can also suggest alternative financing if necessary. I highly recommend them. I actually drive an hour and a half to come see them, since relocating out of the area. Well worth the trip.
