A huge thank you to Monash Medical Centre for Thursday 27th April 2023. Administration, Doctors, Nurses, Food Catering Staff. Shout out to: My Neurologist - Doctor Nevin John, Administration - Adee and Laura Patient catering staff - Lisa Training and registered Nurses - Harpreet, Jenny, Shreejana , Sophia, Janet, Jezil, Poppy, Molly, Barnaby and Dirk. Thank you for giving me the best Ocrevus treatment for my relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis. You provide the best love and care. You are amazing and unforgettable. I’m so proud of you all. Keep up the good work. See you in 6 months - October 2023. Today on Thursday 26th October 2023. I went into the Medical Infusion Centre for Multiple Sclerosis Treatment. I met Carly and she was friendly and polite. I met Dirk and he weighed me, then took me to where I’d be sitting on the recliner chair. Poppy put my cannula into my my vein into the left arm and she got it perfectly in one shot when I said left side is most suitable for me. She gave me the Methylprednisolone and Ocrevus. Danielle learning how to do the job on placement. She was checking my blood pressure along with Ru, Rosalie, Sophia, Tilly, Michelle, Rosie, Shreejana and Derpika. I met Meenakshi and she asked me what I would like for lunch. I chose cheese, crackers, jelly, ice cream, apple juice, banana and sandwiches with ham, cheese and tomato. Towards the end Poppy was telling me it was okay for me to head off. So I packed up and left and met Laura the receptionist and told her that I was going to leave now as my treatment was complete. I was quite happy with all the Receptionists, Placement Students, Registered Nurses and Patient Catering Staff. They are all professional, positive and helpful in terms of ensuring their workmates listen, understand what needs to be done with each patient’s treatment for their individual case. They are compassionate, empathetic and cooperative to one another, but this shows with the way they operate as a whole team and others that they come across in their daily lives. Thank you for all your time, patience and effort to take care of me. I am forever grateful. This is me showing my gratitude and sticking to my word of writing down my thoughts on how my day went in this review. See you in 6 months - April 2024.

Worst motel ever. The whole experience was terrible from the beginning. Receptionist kept asking what was wrong with me (so rude) and insisted I wear their stupid bath robes like I was at a Japanese onsen except my butt was showing out the back- they don’t even have a spa or a sauna so I actually think that was super weird. Once I finally got to my room it was like that time I was abducted by aliens (but without the probing thank goodness)- constantly poking and prodding and asking “does it hurt when I do this”? Oh of course it does, I have a raging temperature and my guts feels like they are going to burst! So rude! So after the poking and prodding I think they drugged me. I got really groggy and I remember being wheeled around with these bright lights and people asking me to count down from 10. The really weird thing is when I woke up I have these tiny incisions now on my tummy but my guts don’t hurt any more. That’s really weird for sure, but not the weirdest…. They said it’s time to go home now (like it was some weird near death experience or something), they put some of my things in a plastic bag and drugged me up so I don’t feel anything or maybe make me forget the whole experience (I can’t say I really mind that and Ibis Hotels could really learn a thing or two here!) To be fair though I am still trying to figure out if it was a motel or a cult because despite all the poking, prodding and weird reception (can you believe there’s an actual queue of people wanting to stay here!!!) the hosts were actually really lovely. Even house keeping and room service were really friendly and kind (although I don’t think they will be getting a Michelin Star any time soon). So mixed emotions. As a cult or alien encounter definitely rate this as the best experience I’ve ever had so far (and I’ve had quite a few) so I’m giving five stars but I definitely rate 0 out of 10 as a motel. Don’t stay here unless you’re desperate.

A year after giving birth and I hate thinking back to my third trimester care and antenatal care. I felt like a number at all my prenatal appointments, my first pregnancy and there was zero guidance and zero talk about what to expect or how to prepare. My birth was fine, easy supported by the midwives they were lovely and helpful enough. but once I got wheeled out of birth suit they just forgot me, I had no idea how to feed my baby, requested a lactation consultant one never came, wasn’t told if I was allowed to have a shower or walk after my epidural so I sat on the side of the bed still hooked up to medical stuff trying to calm my newborn not sure if I could put weight on my legs and pick her up.. I was left without means to use the bathroom for over an hour.. no one checked on myself or my baby for over an hour and when I finally mentioned I hadn’t showered they were suprised and told me to have one.. no other instructions just to go have a shower.. as my partner wasn’t allowed in due to covid I assumed a nurse would stay with the baby I came back after a longer shower than usual due to well just having gave birth hours it’s not easy to move, I come back to my curtain and my baby was alone and crying..this haunts me to this day. they also put me in a curtained area with women who were in for pregnancy related issues but not giving birth any time sooon so I had one lady complaining my newborn had kept her up all night. I think I cried the whole night after birth cause I felt so alone. The only positive was the nurse on that night who sat with me and helped me feed and helped me rest.. thank god for her! Anyway wouldn’t give birth here again.. I’m sure some people have great experiences but mine sucked and I hate hate looking back at the night she was born. Still never got any antenatal help with feeding.. if you want to encourage breastfeeding do better.

Visited 2/11/2022 Monash Medical Centre Clayton was my home for 5 weeks. I was admitted to the hospital due to excruciating wing-muscle pain, not knowing that I suffered from life-threatening aortic aneurysm. Thanks to all the medical specialists, theatre staff and nursing staff, I escaped death. Before and after 3 major open-heart surgeries, I received numerous CT scans, ultra sound, x-ray and ECG to ensure everything went alright. I was "pampered" medically. The CCU and ICU were well equipped, the nursing staff were well trained and most were compasionate. After 2 weeks at these units, I was transferred to a newly renovated isolation room at the end of a passageway for reasons not explained. The room was cold like a hell-hole; not only myself reckoned so, but also other nursing staff, doctor, and the ultra sound techician felt the chill. I complained to the staff, but the matter could not be resolved, as the temperature was centrally controlled. Couldn't a portable heater be supplied to overcome this problem? My biggest gripe was that I sent a personal message to the highest Board member via LinkedIn begging for help, but not responded. I "froze" for 7 days in the "morgue". After almost 3 weeks a nurse asked my when I has my last shower, and I replied I had a body wipe when I was first admitted to the hospital. I thought all all the cuts and wound, I was not to supposed to contact with water. She really blew her top, totally disguised how I was treated. She took me to the shower, and cleaned me. I felt to clean and refresh! The meals were good, varied and well presented. However, due to my condition, I did not have the appetite, and my taste buds did not function as normal to appreciate. I have ro clarify that I was in private wards within the public system. I have my money worth for all my years of contribution to health insurance.

I was admitted a few days ago only to return yesterday with a suspected TIA mini stroke or insane vertigo. I could not walk, talk properly ,excessive vomiting . I was left in a bed in emergency for 3 hrs before the nurses finally hooked me up to a drip and anti vomiting drugs. The doctor who ordered the drip was extremely embarrassed when he returned to see the nurses had done nothing about it. My partner asked 3 times to help me and was rudely fobbed off and told I was noticed and would be seen shortly. By then my recovery was already behind as I had become so dehydrated. They also wheeled me into a toilet as I needed to pee and left me there for 10min until my partner asked them to get me out as I was left there by myself unable to support myself while trying to get out. The short stay ward was the worst, left me there from 4am until 11.30am with no water, drip or buzzer. I had to stumble to the toilet and back extremely dizzy straight past the nurse apparently meant to be looking after me. Her excuse to the doctor was he seemed fine walking past, to which I said ' I was far from fine and I appreciate you not asking me as I walked past '. Once again I was so sick and dehydrated the doctor ordered 2 back to back drip fluids and anti nausea medication. He was mortified I had been left on a bed with no help and a clear case of neglect. To Monashs defence, the ward I am currently on is wonderful. Around the clock care, excellent staff and brought me back into a manageable state of health. It was clear the younger Australian nurses were the disappointing ones. Such a shame they are so behind the ball compared to the other great nurses. Ps nurses who call you 'sweetie' are ones to avoid .

Avoid this "hospital" at all costs. I arrived at the ED via ambulance for a suspected stroke. After 4-5 hours I was finally taken for a CT scan, blood tests and admitted to the ward. Honestly, after that length of time, any interventions for a stroke would be useless! The nurse stated I only had a room because I had private health insurance. There was terrible communication between staff, patients and NOK. On multiple occasions my NOK tried contacting hospital staff, only to be met with very vague explanations. I was also told by the NUM they would arrange for the consultant in charge to contact my NOK, but that never happened. Every morning I was told the Dr would come to see me, which never happened. During this time I continued to have further “stroke-like” episodes. Where two MET calls were made. These were the only times I had been seen by a Dr. On multiple occasions, I had requested to be transferred to a private hospital, which they would not facilitate. When I did ask the NUM, I was told I would need to discharge myself and go to another ED myself. After four days, I finally had an MRI and I was told it was “just a migraine” and to see my GP to follow up. I was in the process of being discharged and I had another acute migraine. During my discharge I was given no guidance on what to do, no medication and I once again did not see a Dr before I left the hospital. The nurse handed me my discharge certificate and a student nurse walked me to the elevator. I was still so unwell, I spent a further week in another private hospital where I was admitted in less than an hour. I only wish I had left Monash sooner so my healing could begin.

Maternity ward and services were great but emergency department is such a joke. We took a 4 month old baby into the emergency room with a big bump on his head to have it checked out because no GP or home doctors were available at that hour. I was told by one nurse that we would be seen shortly. We waited patiently and half to an hour, the baby was hungry. We came in in a rush and forgot the formula at home, i approached the same nurse and asked her if she can kindly provide us a bottle of formula so the baby can be fed. She told me we would be seen shortly by a pediatrician and they can provide warmed up milk in there and told me to wait a little longer. Nearly another half an hour have passed and now the baby is crying due to hunger, i approached the reception and talked to another nurse and asked how long it would be until it's our turn. instead of answering my question all she kept on repeating to me was the longest time someone have waited is 4 hours and said she doesn't know how long it will take. The way she spoke was rude and apathetic like she doesn't care because they are 'busy'. We ended up taking our baby home and waited til the morning to get to the GP. I understand that be a nurse is stressful but please understand that anyone that steps into the emergency is hurt and in stress. Especially with parents, we are very worried babies who are so vulnerable. Be more friendly with patients and don't just keep new patients standing in the lines and start chatting behind that glass window. The administration services in the emergency department is bad. Very disorganized and rude nurses (some).

The absolute lack of competence, respect and knowledge I have ever seen. I had my baby at this hospital 6 weeks ago. The list of things that I experienced and am still experiencing from the staff at this hospital are horrific. 1.when going into the hospital at about 26 weeks pregnant worried about my babies movements being told by a doctor that "oh now that your here you feel her" and that I pretty much wasted their time. 2. When going into labour and getting to the hospital at the fetal movement room and being told to get out very rudely and wait in the waiting room when no other patients were there. And sitting for 15 min in a waiting room with contractions and being told I'll prob just go home. To then being there for 2 hours before then going into the birthing suite. 3. Going into labour for 10hours with multiple checks of feeling my dilation. With quote " I think that's a head, we will check again in 5 hours" to which she was breech the whole time with 3 midwives checking my dilation and the babies positioning.i then had to have an emergency c section after at least 10 hours of labour 4. Having to go to the Monash children's hospital with my now 6 week old baby to have checks on her hips as she was breech and they said it can cause hip problems. And the doctor doesn't even say hello to us or explain anything about what it is and what the goal is to try and fix it. We simply got a yep and then a letter to say that the findings today show that it is NOT normal. We still don't even know what is wrong with our baby or have been explained anything except come back in 6 weeks time.

Why, why and why Monash Hospital is not listening to our parent cries in regards to kids health? Where can we get care especially for our kids when we don't have trust in your hospital system anymore? Despite cries from other parents who have lost their loved ones, who have been punished for their life just because they trusted you with handing over their kids life in to your hands? What is stopping you from making those changes to immediately assist and help a kid in need in emergency department? I want to know how we can start trusting you again when it comes to driving my child to your emergency department to get immediate care and assistance? Just a few days ago, I brought in my 6 year old who suffered from continuous vomits, dizziness and fever. My child had to wait for more then 4 hours to get care in your emergency department. I am also starting to doubt if the hospital is concerned about child's background or race (hope I will be proved wrong). Recent articles about child deaths in Monash Hospital may prove me right. Now I am scared to hell when it comes to asking for an ambulance by calling 911, I was turned away saying that ambulance is not available or may be more than an hour wait. When would this hospital system is going to understand a parent's cry? And again thanks to the medical system it's really hard to get hold of a GP after 6pm or even after hours. I still remembering those pre-pandemic days where I was able to ask for a GP or Doctor's visit late nights or early morning i.e. at 1am or 2am. Now it's no longer possible.

I admitted myself to hospital due to recurring stomach pain in the right side of my abdomen , I knew something was not right with my appendix. After a 2 hr wait in emergency with the aid of some pain relief, I was taken thru for blood tests , blood pressure and a Ct scan , then returned to emergency area as there weee quite a lot of patients with other ailments. Finally was taken in 10 hrs later for overnight observation. The nurses were fantastic and made you feel as comfortable as could be, I must say waiting did make me anxious at times as I felt they had forgotten about me , but they were just crazy busy and eventually did. Patience is an absolute must in hospitals eventually they will get to you. I saw the Surgeon next day and discussed results and he agreed to remove the appendix although my symptoms were getting better. I had to wait another 2 days as there were a lot of pre booked surgeries, all went well and I was discharged the day after surgery. Thanks to everyone at Monash for their help. So many ill patients to see too. Public system is good in my opinion just need patience!!

Do yourself a favour, go somewhere else for your surgery if you can. Some of the nurses were outstanding and I was so grateful to have their care and support. Others clearly didn't want to be there and should not be allowed to practice. I had NO follow up visits with my surgical team. I saw one surgeon on my discharge because I demanded to leave after 2 nights of being extremely uncomfortable and over medicated. Not one nurse spoke to me about post spinal surgery care, positioning, posture, exercise etc. There was no doctor to advise me. Nurses would come around and ask what drugs I wanted. It's just not good enough. It's now been 2 weeks post op. I followed up to make my 4-6 week appointment only to be told 'don't call us, we'll call you when we're ready'. I explained I'm experiencing numbness down my right leg, she tells me to go to ED. Right, so I can flood an already overcrowded system, sustain further injury by sitting in one position post spinal surgery for hours on end. The lucky country indeed. That's true so long as you stay healthy. Food was very nice for hospital standards

Completely incompetent and negligent. Had to have an epidural put in twice because they didn't take care when they turned my partner while she was in labour and it got pulled out! Couldn't figure out what position our baby was in after multiple attempts of turning him, botched the cut to help get him out and my partner losing a litre and a half of blood, then only finding out while these 2 women were stitching her up for nearly 2 hours that they were trainees! We did not give consent for them to be working on my partner and we're never even told they were trainees. No one would listen to us when my partner asked for some water, or to take the baby if her because she was in so much pain. They just ignored us and kept hacking at my partner like she was a piece of meat. It was our first child and they have ruined that experience for us and now she's showing signs of PTSD. I should sue this place for malpractice and negligence. There's a lot more even after the birth but all I can recall is that birthing suite being covered in blood looking like a crime scene.

My simple request was to have a medical certificate for my 4 days in hospital. The paper they gave me had the wrong dates and was ambiguous, it said I attended on my discharge day rather than admission date. I called to request another correct one but got arguments with the person on the phone saying it will be ok for my employer and I had to push saying not employers are all the same, some are picky. Then when they called me back to say they will amend it for me, I had to go phycially pick up a piece of paper. They refused to email it to me in today's technology. They said they can post it to me but not email because there can be errors in email addresses..... But errors can be made with post addresses too so I don't understand their logic at all. I work in the health industry too and we email medical certificates all the time to patients. Just take the time to triple confirm the email address. Stupid outdated policies or lazy staff. Keep up with technology and keep things simple for pts who have just had a hard time in hospital.

Though Monash hospital saved my life several times,This time it was one of my worst experiences. Not long ago here in Dandenong Monash hospital my nerve was caught in between my spine and my fingers were being pulled in , the pain was greater then when I had my brain tumour in the past . The nurses kept me waiting for over 12 hours without any pain killers I was left for dead Lying down on the ground almost ready to pass out . They must have thought I was a junky who wanted a fix . How could this happen in this country Australia . just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not serious . Basically that experience was nothing more than one of the worst experience I had .not too mention that in 2022 they let me go home because they couldn’t get the wright Surgeon to treat my leg after I cut it with a chainsaw . My leg was dripping with blood and the cab driver didn’t even want me in his cab . We can manage to get roads upgraded but we can’t manage to fux our hospital in Dandenong . What’s more important . Thanks for reading

Have had two family members stay here for two seperate reasons in the past month which is why I felt the need to write this review. I'm not sure why this hospital and it's staff are so over worked and currently give little care. Frankly, it's not up to us as the public to understand why they are under so much pressure. The government and the hospital both need to do more. The ratio of doctor/nurse to patient seem to be 1 to 50 and its apparent that the staff just want to get you out of there as quickly as possible even if you've just had major surgery. One of my family members had to find out the result of an x-ray they took in Monash from their stay there after surgery from a GP. This was after a week of being at home with back pain and difficulty with breathing, the GP looked at the results of the x-ray from Monash as they had it on file that the pain was due to a collapsed lung. No word from the Doctors about the X-ray and No follow up from the hospital. This is not "world class" healthcare. Do better.

I have just spend six days and nights in ED and the vascular ward. Sometimes it was excellent but most of the times it was mediocre. I was sent from the country for some urgent assessment which became a farce in the end. discharge summary full of inaccuracies and hearsay. Iam still traumatised by the unfortunate experience and misdiagnosed . Had scans and assessment done at Sale hospital but was told that they were wrong and I had mental condition that caused the extreme pain in foot and leg. I am booked in for prostrate surgery cat2 but after this stay I rather die than even go near this hospital. Some staff are outright aggressive and rude and nobody has the time or are inclined to tell you will be back and you never see them again. Anyway am happy I still have my left leg even though am still in constant pain. A lot of people need retraining and the board need to be replaced with people that have management experience. Because there is no leadership to be found anywhere.

Monash Medical Centre is a fantastic hospital with first class staff. We are so lucky in Australia to have a wonderful health system that benefits every one of us. If you are truly sick it is the best place to be. Along with a dozen other public health facilities in Melbourne. My blood boils with the perpetual complaints from people waiting hours in ED. Complaining of waiting for scripts or medication or waiting for radiology. Yes it’s busy and yes you may have to wait, but let’s be grateful we have a public health system of the calibre we do in Australia. There are many places in the world where even basic health services are out of reach for some. Yet here, we do nothing but whinge. As for those who complain about waiting in ED….Triage works. Unfortunately those waiting, can’t see what’s going on behind the scenes. If you arrive with a something that can be treated by a GP why come to ED? A little common sense goes along way.

My 76 year old mother was brought to Monash MC, Clayton with severe stroke symptoms. She was seen to quite quickly when waiting in ED however, a doctor treated her and she had a CT scan but was then left in a bed for hours and hours without any real attention. She went into a coma and died after 5 days in ICU. I am not happy with this outcome and have requested her medical treatment via the Freedom of Information department. Her condition was not treated with any urgency until she was unconscious but by this time, it was too late. The nurses did not reassure us that Mum was receiving the adequate treatment and we (her children) are traumatised by the experience. I watched my Mother have a seizure in ED and could not get any help. Third World is a good way to describe Monash. Please, go to the Royal Melbourne Hospital if you suspect you are having a Stroke. Stay right away from Monash Medical Centre.

Unprofessional and slow. Went to the ER after extreme nausea, vomiting every 20 minutes and fatigue, was taken into a waiting room for about 3 hours before being seen by a doctor. When I explained to the doctor that I thought my drink may have been spiked he immediately dismissed me and said I probably hadn't. Was taken back to a waitroom, wasn't told what was going on and was waiting for another couple of hours with no help, only when I went up to the doctor myself to ask what was happening was I put on an IV and informed of my blood results (which actually had come through already but nobody bothered to tell me). It's understandable that ERs are usually hectic and have wait times but nobody was informing anyone about what was happening and the doctor seemed quite condescending and dismissive. Star is for the lovely nurses + the kind one who gave me an anti nausea tablet.

I could not find a way to send feedback hence doing it here. I visited maternity unit after hours(11-jul-23) with my heavily pregnant wife as fetal movement was reduced. We are not registered at this hospital. We were declined monitoring even though we both were clearly distressed and we both have medicare card as well as Australian citizen. The nurse with cold voice reminded us that you can't just rock up here just because there is a hospital near you. Now my question is, if I visited wodonga with my pregnant wife and we encounter the same issue, is it ethical or legal for the hospital to deny us treatment cause we are not registered? I am truly and deeply disappointed with this kind of behaviour from public healthcare systems. If we participate in medicare scheme which we are happy to, what should we be discriminated and denied service?

Parking is atrocious and largely inaccessible if you have mobility impairments. There are currently no covered disability parks, only a few short term ones out the front. Only one of the four elevators was working in the covered parking. Accessibility was a nightmare; despite arriving 40 minutes early, I checked in 10 minutes late for my appointment. There were parents with small kids and prams, elderly people, and a few other disabled people, all stranded outside the only working elevator, which was packed every time it opened. Staff are friendly and helpful, but not enough that I want to experience this again. Staff deserve 4 stars, rest of the experience is 0. Hospitals need to be accessible. Do better. * Consult an accessibility professional to make sure the hospital is still accessible during planned works BEFORE it's an issue *

After the petrifying event of suffering a stroke and being raced to Monash Medical Centre, I received nothing but the best care during my time there. Not only were the paramedics phenomenal — arriving at my home in under 4 minutes — the staff in emergency were prompt and swift; acting in a way that may have saved me from any long term deficits. Cannot thank the team of doctors and nurses enough, particularly those of C Ward 54/High Dependency Unit. Not only did these individuals make my stay one where I was able to recover, but they were also excellent people; often engaging with patients and ensuring that we were not only on the way to a fast recovery, but positive & not driven to madness with the circumstances we found ourselves in. If you or a loved one needs medical help — this is the place to be.

  • Xin Wang

If you ask how long the emergency will need to be waited. They just simply asked: hours, many hours no matter your situation. Just came to see what's wrong with the wound after a recent surgery as it is bleeding. It can be easily treated and if no serious issue, can back home and let others in the waiting room. However, they did not, and they are very happy to let people wait for more than 4 hours, which is part of their strategy. I believe there are a lot of cases similar to me, and they are accidentally hurt and need quick treatment and can be released quickly. But they did not. With the background of some laughts from staff while they let parents wait, with public Medicare contribution, really want to ask: is the behavior correct and your heart is feeling no regrets?

Working in Monash health.. Management thinks that Nurses are their personal maid.. They message they need nurse to work .. When accept a shift and ready to work next day.. These dirty management amend the shift and reduce half an hour without informing . How dirty they can be .. And in the news they say we need nurse to work and shortage of nurse and health care staff blah blah.. Who will work like this All the register nurses please don’t accept any discrimination .. Stand up and fight … Don’t accept less hour and less pay at any cost.. Mass cancel the shift and let them know these dirty tricks won’t work.. They say shortage of nurses .. In real there is no shortage .. They don’t pay well and expect to do two nurses job .. That’s why many nurses left the job.

Unproffessional staff, they dont care about the patients, waited over 3 hours, they refused to take any tests, the restoom was unclean, also one of the restoom doors doesnt even lock. This cant be called a hospital, its a joke! Dr Adya Choudhary is a junior Dr who will ask you a million questions, she has no clue what she is doing, you will answer all her questions still she will keep asking, at the end of the day they refuse to help the patient, and trigger your anzieties. If you ask to complain, they will hand you off to the nurse in charge who will gaslight you and tell you this is a normal procedure. I hospital is meant to be a safe space, a place of care and consideration, a space to heal patients and help them, not triger them and traumatize them.

I went into Monash two weeks ago tomorrow (Thursday) for a live kidney transplant in Ward 34 I honestly can’t tell you how wonderful the staff nurses & Doctors were during my time in there, I always felt comfortable with attentive care that I received. There were three stand out Nurses on my ward Tim Caitlyn & another nurse which by I didn’t get her name. They were wonderful & was always professional & caring to my needs, this made my time in hospital so much more pleasant while feeling unwell & during recovery. All staff were fantastic but honestly couldn’t fault the care that all the staff have given me I am truly grateful, these ppl are true hero’s & we are so blessed to have them. Thank you Sharon Ferrari Room 19

Well supporting one star people. I am with you, Monash the one of biggest medical treatment place and the biggest worst place to see that they do need you to be there 20 min early to appointment whereas they always have excuse running behind time and keep you wait for over 2 hrs and not even bother to ask again even though when pregnant is in pain. On top all staff behave that they are the one and only above doctors too and the one who are rulers so don't even think of anything saying or asking. What a rude people in medical history. I have see Germany, GB, USA far better service when it comes to medical service. They do understand your pain though they give you more with their attitude and rude behave. Thanks Monash

Worst public hospital ever!! My father got cancer and needs urgent procedure to fix the jaundice which is damaging his brain, eyes and the full body. Even the specialist suggested the procedure done ASAP. From my father stepped into the Emergency of Monash Medical Centre, all things were delayed. The check up was delayed, the treatment was delayed, even the procedure was kept rescheduling again and again, days after days, until you are damaged badly by the disease because of their delay and really on the edgy of dying. No one there kept the patient posted about their plan. The patient is getting hurt and damaged by their low efficiency, but looks there no one cares. Very disappointed about their service.

  • Ms Rundle

Got rung twice and I rang once to confirm appointment Wednesday morning 9.30. Yep all good everything fine my end. Turn up in the morning at 9.15 to have a bowel ultrasound done. After 30 minutes was told GI doctor was double booked and he was in Bendigo. Seriously?? How the hell could you miss a detail like that?? Went to reschedule and was told ‘oh they will contact you’. Fabulous. Colonoscopy & dilation on two weeks and no way of knowing how narrow bowel is before they go in. Great job Monash. Again turned up on 24/4 for u/sound on bowel. This time it was a Monday and I had taken personal leave from work. Again told they didn’t have the person on doing u/sounds so got sent to Casey hospital.

  • Ankita Katepally

I could give a 0 if possible, worst first experience, i had a tele health appointment booked in and they changed the time as they wish, when asked if i could have another time the person said she just has to book me in when ever next, i was fine with that but just wanted to know when that could happen, but she did not have an answer and i just wanted to know how long these appointments usually are? And she hung up on me, very very rude, they dont know how to speak to people specially pregnant people. I am changing my hospital to Sandringham. If they dont know how to speak i doubt the care they can provide when i deliver, clearly not professional poeple, i wonder if they are trained at all.

  • Ann Rossios

Poor people empathy skills at the front desk! I went up to ask a question regarding my mother who got released the day before due to a suspected stroke. As I approached the desk to ask a question the rude triage nurse told me to move to the side in a manner which is not acceptable. Didn't give me a reason as there was noone in front or behind me until I asked why and the other nurse next to her with the same rude manner explained why. I said all I want to do is ask a question that's all. This behaviour from triage nurses is unacceptable and not tolerated as all I wanted to do was ask a simple question. The other nurses in the ward were great and empathetic. Not impressed at all!

  • FTY72 D

Most Nurses wonderful but at times language barrier which can be very stressful during a traumatic time. OT terrific however I have been waiting for a call from the drs for over a week. I called daily sometimes twice per day in attempt to speak with a dr. I had many questions regarding outcome of tests and care I need to provide for a family member once home with serious and life threatening illness. I'm sure they provided excellent care to my family member however absolutely Disgraceful they couldn't care a less about the care giver beyond the hospital walls. I am beyond disturbed, angry and disillusioned on how this is ok they made a heart breaking situation more stressful

  • Rachael OSullivan

Maternity ward/pregnancy unit is horrible.! Had my daughter here 2021 and now having complications with my pregnancy in 2023! Have been to hospital with contraction like pains and they have so far left me sitting here for 3 hours in agony with no tests or anything while they had a chat with who ever else is working. Absolutely hate Clayton would not Recommend this hospital to anyone. Only reason I am here is because I am high risk! Sent me home many times saying I had gastro just because I had intense stomach pain!! I’m back again with the same pains but so much worse and I’m left here wondering if my baby is okay! This hospital is horrible avoid it if you can!!

  • Raelene Neander

I "was" happy, with the outpatient department (Neurosurgery). The doctor, with whom I had my appointment with, via telehealth, today... it was like he couldn't care 2 blinkin' hoots! I have an arachnoid cyst, (a scan done, 2 years ago) showed it to be just over 4cms. This doctor, today, was NOT interested in doing a followup scan. I have been getting pains in my head (not headache or migraine), and very dizzy. When I told him, this, his response was, see Neurology. You don't need a scan. I am discharging you, from Neurosurgery! "Where is the care??" No wonder I have moved a great deal of my medical to another hospital! Let down...yet, again!!!"

  • Pack Of Galahs

What negative thing can u say about a place filled with very hard working and gifted professionals that are trying to service such a difficult and long term need, it’s not a pleasant or easy job, often a lot rude, abusive impatient understandably so people, and messed up junkies all with their hands out at any hour of the day. if you aren’t applying for their jobs don’t both with rude comments as pointing out things like wait times should be pointed at governments for more funding as behind the counter there is only so many seats available and so many staff. In saying that thank god i’m Going home after just 2 nights. Hopefully never to be back.

  • krivitchm

My partner got admitted here via ambulance for a stroke. Taken to the "stroke" hospital of Victoria apparently. After brief initial scans she was ignored about all her standard medication for 16 hours after 4 consults about what medication she was taking, was refused an MRI because they couldn't find her records and just told to "come back as an outpatient" so they could have more time to find her records with no appointment made or no time frame given. Had security called on her due to her asking so many times for medication. They gave her a needle and she was discharged. Avoid this hospital at all costs if you want to save a loved ones life.

  • David Nesbit

My 94-year old father-in-law was admitted for abdominal pain. We cautiously entered the Emergency Room as we thought that we would be waiting for hours and hours. But no, the nurses promptly attended to my father-in-law and he was quickly moved into the Short Stay Unit as beds were unavailable in the General Medical Wards. We have been amazed at the level of professional treatment and support for this very old man. Nothing is too much of a trouble and he has been very well looked after during his stay. We would recommend Monash Medical Centre for treatment of family members.

  • Zoe R

If you're tossing up going to Dandenong or here. Come here! ED was efficient (Friday night), all nursing staff were so lovely and don't take forever to come when you press the nurse assist button. They all kept me informed, fed and in a positive state of mind. Don't yell at or show irritation to these guys because they're doing their best with what the government has given them. Time frames aren't their fault so BE PATIENT. Special shout out to nurse Tom and nurse Courtney (I believe it is). You guys are so sweet and helped me when I was terrified of possible outcomes.

  • Thisismia

Wonderful care for my 83 year old mother who had Covid related complications and had a five day stay at Monash Clayton in Ward 42. She wasn’t expected to survive and the fact that she did is in no small way related to the proactive and diligent care she received from doctors, nurses and other staff. This is not to downplay others who have disappointing experiences in public healthcare but it is times like these I’m grateful to live in a country with the public health infrastructure to look after people. From what I saw they are doing their best to make a difference.

  • Roy Cooper

Andrew strip CEO Monash medical centre I was at my Drs in clayton opposite the hospital I did not realise I covid I collapsed in the Drs surgery they called ambulance I was taken to Monash medical centre on arrival there where 3 patients on Mobil beds waiting to find a bed to each Mobil bed was two paramedics had to wait 2 hours to find a bed there was person walking up and down I asked paramedics who is he she said he allocates the beds I said sorely he can do your job instead of 6 paramedics taking up your valuable time while people are dying waiting for ambulance

  • Ang Veng

Poor behaviour and poor services. Victoria state government must investigate and reform health system and Hospital. Too much payment for Doctors, make doctors lazy. I have an appointment at 10am at neurology department at Monash Clayton hospital. I arrived at 9:45am and wait until 11am. A doctor came out and the receptionist suggested him to take me. He said "No, I don't want to take new patient". What is the behaviour of a doctor? I waited until 11: 15am, then I made a complaint. The reception then said you are next. After all a doctor took me in at 11:30am.

  • Htet Wai

The hospital itself is good but the nurse from ward 34 I believe her name is AMELIA OKASAKI has to be one of the worst nurses. She was unsympathetic and unkind when my dad was literally dying. Her attitude was absolutely horrible to a patient who was on palliative and the family. It’s a shame a hospital as big as this would have nurses like Okasaki who are just mean spirited. I only hope that she or a family member of hers isn’t treated the same way she treats her patients when they’re also on their death bed. Remember her name, Amelia Okasaki from ward 34.

  • Ahmad Wamiq Ghowsi

An absolute disaster @ children emergency ward Coming to Monash Health Emergency Department is seriously painful and annoying. They allocated 2 Consultants / Drs for a hundred patient They don’t tell you honestly that how long would they keep you. You end up waiting hours and hours. They do their routine while you are suffering. They simply don’t care. It is quite ridiculous to see that the triage nurses would pick and chose based on their subjective and fact free findings. That finding can either send you the next person and or keeps you waiting for ages

  • Flyn Mascarenhas

Not sure if this is the way to send a message, because I couldn’t find the cafe inside the Hospital on google. Bought a chicken mayo sandwich yesterday for $7.5, only to find a hair in it I couldn’t eat it anymore. Unfortunately I was with an unsettled baby heading home and didn’t want to return back to show it to them. I felt sick the whole evening. Serving food to hospital specially needs to be quality checked. We come there to be treated and to not go home sick. I hope the management can pass on this message to the cafe staff and be cautious.

  • Glaucia Silva

My name is Maria Glaucia da Silva Oliveira. I'm tired and exhausted and my psychology doesn't exist anymore, I think about taking my life because it doesn't make any sense to live every day in pain. I have a 10 year old daughter who needs me and I can't do anything for her. I'm a mother alone here and I'm tired of going to the hospital emergency room and not having an answer. I have 2 kidneys full of kidney stones, I have pain every day and I can't take it anymore, I'm sending this email to let you know that I'm going to take my life at any moment.

  • G888

Today me and my very ill father were denied entry to his specialist appointment that his his been attending to at Monash Hospital for the last 14months for not being vaccinated. This was inhumane along with embarrassing as other patrons looked on. Managers refused to give their names and rank and security was called. Them not knowing officially who I was and never had to use my status to a make such complaint. In disgust the secretary of defence had to call on my behalf to chop the heads off management for refusing entry into a hospital

  • Nasha Pinasthika

We went here on Friday 6pm due to pregnancy bleeding. Got a blood test at 9pm, and now at 00.24am still got no doctor whatsoever. Only to be told by nurse that the ultrasound is only available on business hours and that if the pregnancy miscarries the body will flush it out anyway. They hurries us to pay in advance but no response after waiting for 6 hours++. All I want to know is the safety of my baby, but now I can't even rest and just wait here. Definitely won't recommend this for pregnancy related emergency.

  • Fiona Sheppard

Worst hospital I have ever visited. Definitely not where you want to be in an emergency. My 80 year old father was left sitting for 6 hours with severe facial injuries from a fall at 10pm. We left a waiting room that had been empty since 1am and watched everyone go in and leave while we continued to wait. We left to seek alternative care but by then it was too late. Shame on all of you. You all need a lesson in empathy for our elderly. You did not deserve our time. Big mistake thinking we could trust you.

  • Glenyse Ford

I have recently been admitted to Monash Clayton Stroke/Neurology Ward. I cannot praise the staff who assisted me during my stay enough. From the beautiful young grad nurses, along with the various x-ray departments. Not to forget the amazing care by Dr Meghan, Dr. Maryon, and Professor Thanh Phan. Thank you all for your amazing professionalism and care. I would have given 5 stars but food not great - but I wasn't there for food it was their medical expertise, which is 5 out of 5. Thank you. Glenyse Ford

  • verbosity9

Just when you thought Victorian hospitals could not get any worse... welcome to Clayton where the hospital parking is closed due to being full, and the only street parking within a 10 minutes walk is permit only, or 1/2 hour. Once you finally manage to get into the hospital, you will be greeted by a lack of signage and entry staff who do not know where the departments are. If you manage to find the correct department, you will be asked to take a seat, even though none are free. This place is a dump.

  • Fiona Gilbert

I unfortunately had to take my 18 month old into emergency with breathing problems. I almost thought I was over reacting but GP had told me to take him in. All the staff were fantastic and we were seen very promptly, and cared for with kindness and professionalism. People complaining about waiting times should remember it's an emergency department, for things that can't be handled by a gp or wait until the next day. If you are there for something that isn't life threatening you'll have to wait

  • Rebecca Kane

I’ve been involved with emergency, endocrinology, obstetrics, Children’s, special care nursery, maternity, cardiology, ultrasound, genetics, the diabetes clinic and everything has been exceptional. For a public hospital it is amazing the level of care and professionalism they can provide. Thank you for saving me and continuing to care when you could have let me go long ago to my local system. My local system initially let me down, so thank you for restoring my faith in the medical community.

  • Samantha Sousamlis

What a horrible hospital! Absolutely disgusted with the staff - we had to take food and water and help our loved one while she was left in a tiny room with no doctor or nurse in sight! If I worked here I would be embarrassed to say so. No one could give us a straight answer as to what was going on and our loved one was neglected- we couldn’t even get them transferred to another hospital because there was no doctor to discharge them! Absolutely disgusting would never recommend this hospital.

  • Jessica Duncan

I was transfered to Monash Medical Centre from a private hospital who could not treat me. I spent 9 days in hospital pre and post birth and can not thank the nurses in the maternity ward and the NICU enough. They went above any beyond to make me feel comfortable. Their care and compassion made a very difficult time much easier to deal with. Whenever I wanted to go see my son in the NICU they wouldn't hesitate to wheel me down in a wheelchair as I couldn't walk due to c section recovery.

  • Radi420

The rudest and weirdest staff ever the poorest service they don’t care about your issues sicknesses or whatever you have just register and wait for ages. Had supper bad and extremely pain in my stomach even couldn’t sit or stand for a minute they saying my turn will be after 9 hours. Waited for two hours but no one listen at all. Felt bad and left. I have no idea why we have that poor service in all these hospitals Monash Dandenong hospital Casey hospital if you die no one cares.

  • chelsea tee

FACT: Monash Medical Centre illegally use restraint and sedation against patients wherher they're there for mental health issues OR NOT. Then they will lie, and lie, and LIE about it, about WHAT was administered, how long they RESTRAINED you for, even OMIT the incident from Discharge reports, not REPORT it, not DISCUSS it with you, and then lie about whether they have CCTV footage or not. DISGRACEDUL conduct, of which they WILL be held fully.liable and accountable.

  • Jennie Storer

I attended Monash Emergency Department on 2 separate days last week. The ambulances were ramped & the waiting room full. The nursing staff cared for patients waiting, doing obs, giving pain relief as needed. They were kind & patient despite the obvious pressure they were under. The medical staff were also kind & all communication was clear. Everyone has adapted their approach to their work to suit the needs of an extremely busy department. I highly praise them.

  • Ijeoma

If I can give it no Star that would be understandable. I've had two appointments rescheduled for no justifiable reasons. I'm a stage 3 severity and was listed as urgent yet the tumultuous disorganisation this hospital have makes me wonder if my care and wellbeing is their utmost focus. I have an ongoing pain and discomfort yet.... I just hope I live long enough to look after my two kids being a single parent, all you wish is to be healthy mind and body

  • Kung Keo

Sorry, I didn't get a chance to buy gifts for birth, maternity and theatre team. Once again, they've done an extraordinary job from taking my wife in, getting her through labour and getting our 2nd baby out safely. This was all done while we had covid. Apologies I couldn't remember all the names, but many many thanks to Izzy our midwife, Gabby, Alisha, Annie, the theatre team, Kay li and maternity ward team. Thank you. Take care of yourselves too.

  • Jen Wizza

What has happened to infection control, 5 moments of hand hygiene?? Grad nurse today in medical ward, left gloves on, took patients observations, left BP cuff on, went across to other patient with same gloves, touched him, and the computer equipment then back to original patient to remove cuff. She has spread contaminated germs especially from the patient with a staphylococcus infection. Very bad practice, no wonder hospitals are death traps.

  • Stefan Staikou

I would like to give a 5star review to Kate, the young lady who works as a nurse at level 5 at Monash hospital. She was kind, took her time to understand me and she didn't judge my condition. A good idea is that she has a bright future with her outstanding service. Some of the older people that work there can take her as an example and learn manners from her Also, Ben and Dr Hannah from emergency department were amazing so thanks guys.

  • Abbas Farasoo

From 10:00 AM to 1:25 PM, I attempted to reach out to Mosh for some sample information. Unfortunately, there was no response to my calls, and when they did answer, we seemed to keep passing the call back and forth. This is not a good indication of the server and communication. 7-8 times called and tried different sections, and still remained in the line for 30-50 minutes, but no luck. Just wanted to ask a question from neurosurgery section.

  • Gary Singh

Very poorly run. I can not blame one person it's the whole system. It's f'd up. After waiting for 6 hours in emergency "in emergency" a trainee doctor comes up and tells my wife that someone will call next week as its easter weekend. They all are there to double their pay on easter holiday. Like any other business customer has to be on priority while these people are just there to make money and make people wait. No system in place. shame.

  • Mandy Hall

Possibly the worst care I have ever received. Small regional hospitals are capable of better service. The nurse I had was lovely, it’s a shame the rest of the department is a let down. I was told I could not be released as my heart rate was too high, yet I have sat in a waiting area for nearly 7 hours without pain relief, a drink or food, with a cannula in my arm. The worst part is there is multiple people in the same position, pathetic.

  • TJ Agnew

Gave birth here & literally couldn’t fault them! The whole process was amazing, I was listened too, my needs met, my babies needs met. When I wasn’t able to BF my little one I was given access to the parents room where they had little bottles of formula, literally felt right at home. My little one was in the nursery due to being unwell & they took the best care of her. If I ever have another baby I’ll definitely be coming back here.

  • Paris Yves Read The Empathy Counsellor

I had a Mini Stroke last week/weekend (TSI), went to Emergency & was treated professionally, with empathy & patience from the nurses, doctors, kind bed pushing nurse! And the great kind radiographer. I hate hospitals but they made my urgent visit a very calm & comfortable one. Maybe I was lucky to have a good experience, but I give credit where credit is due. Thank you to all the staff for helping me through a very stressful time.

  • Guy Shiffman

I would just like to say thanks to all the doctors and nurses that have made this journey of healing from a abscess on my back a very pleasant one. I'm still with hospital in the home but the experience has been very well managed and they have made me feel better over the last 2 weeks. P.S if they're any doctors/nurses that are single and wanting to date hope you'd be interested in me and if you are please respond asap.

  • Lou Lou

If you have a chance and can avoid going to this hospital - definitely avoid. Not only has our personal experience of care been beyond disappointing but also the lack of communication and simple processes to visit, get updates and discuss care options are appalling. I would consider paying the ambulance to take me anywhere else other than here if i ever had the option. My opinion, avoid this "hospital" at all costs.

  • V B

Best hospital experience I've ever had. I spent time in the ICU as well as on the regular wards and I honestly couldn't fault a single nurse or doctor I met. They stayed so friendly and positive even when patients were rude or non compliant, they kept me informed with my progress and treatment plan, and were just in general really awesome :) Oh, and they saved my life, so there's that too. Thank you Monash.

  • Naveed Zanoon

Slow, rigid and worst emergency. Don’t bother going here. Brought my toddler here after an accident. They took nearly 5 hours to see him. What a waste of time. There’s an amazing private emergency Center in Mulgrave called - Mulgrave Private Hospital. It costs about 400 on admission but honestly far better than waiting for these idiots to come to your aid. Honestly I wish I had known this sooner.

  • Cass Smith

Cannot thank the staff in the maternity ward enough for their care for both my sister and my new little nephew. The midwives that attended my sister through her labour were absolutely amazing and really talked her through everything. Melanie, in particular, stayed with her through the whole labour and was gentle, patient and professional. Thank you all for looking after my sister and her baby boy

  • Cina L

Brilliant hospital, but their emergency department (ED) is usually good but does need to improve on wait time and unethical practices around triage. . For many months triage nurse is not even checking anyone's blood pressure who walk into ED, I have witnessed people literally dying in their wait room and had to stick up for a number of other patients to ask triage nurses to prioritise them.

  • Anton P

Shout out to the lady on the call, she was able to calmly explain me the procedure of getting the prescription I need (to calm down my nerves). Due to me being new to Australian system and not having health problems before I had no idea what to do. Instead person in "Mount Waverley Medical Centre" would keep repeating "We don't do it. I don't know where you look for GP" ‍♂️

  • Sunkist Sunkist (OrangeFlavouredDrink)

If you value your child's health/life, probably best to choose another hospital, especially in the case of emergency. Not sure what their understanding is when it comes to the word "emergency" when you're told you'll have to wait 3 hours for them to see a 1 year old because they thought 3 doctors is plenty to have on in a children's ward. Thankfully the nurses are caring.

  • Kayla Williams

DO NOT ATTEND THIS EMERGENCY ROOM!!!! I attended the er while in unbearable pain and while bleeding out, I waiting 7 hours and was not seen by a nurse or doctor, I then went to angliss hospital had a bed in 1 hour and emergency surgery the next hour. I wish I could give zero stars. All staff have no compassion and no cares about anyone and should be ashamed of themselves.

  • Lyn Lewis

My father was admitted Feb 18 after fall at home. He was taken to the Cardiac Unit and monitored 24 hours by very caring staff. Feb 20 on waiting list for pacemaker and was miraculously fitted with pacemaker that afternoon. Doctors and nurses OUTSTANDING and dad now home. Cannot speak highly enough about the care he received CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL!!!! THANK YOU xxxxx

  • M Gskrn

Do not spend your money here. For a private Health care centre you would expect the lowest standard for a hospital but even that they don’t meet. Our grandmother who was treated with cancer didn’t even get any sort of help and we as her family were beaten around the bush and felt insulted by the staff many times. I am trying my best to be professional but DO NOT GO HERE.

  • Kim

To the most wonderful NURSES, AMBO'S and Doctors at Monash Clayton. You are the very best at your jobs and as beautiful people. Be proud of yourselves under the most terrible conditions. Just spent a few days there and witnessed it myself. You are all exceptional and are heroes to me. Thankyou. Dan Andrews- What you haven't done for the health system is a disgrace.

  • Frank Seymour

Full of admiration for the staff, both at the main hospital and the emergency department. They are always overworked, but always helpful and cheerful. I recently had to visit my wife in ICU and had wear the blue plastic coat, special mask, gloves and a visor. After an hour I was cooking. All respect to those nurses who have to do a full shift wearing all that gear.

  • Sam Keir

I have been to Monash for brief stay in Jesse McPherson private and I have been to their MRI department and I have always found all staff to be very friendly and professional but of course medical workers are underpaid!! They seem to be expanding carpark and I notice their overpriced giftshop closed. They have a cafe that offers a lot of hot and cold dishes too.

  • Heather Macgregor

My son had a phone call Monday giving an appointment on Thursday for a colonoscopy. Much time wasted on phone, finally he received information re prep at 2:07pm on Wednesday. We arrived at appointed time, waited aprox 1 hr. he was taken in, and after approx 3/4 hr. walked out after being told he had to wait for 3 hours. A waste of time and parking money

  • B

I had my c section at Monash and cannot thank the team enough for there professionalism. From the anaesthesist to the whole team at labour and midwives i just want to say thank to the bottom of my heart. You guys definetely know what you are doing. I highly recommend Monash Medical Centre. Would definetely do it all again hopefully for a second baby..

  • Vixie Fox

Lovely hospital staff, doctors, nurses and ambulance crew! I'm a trans girl and wasnt expecting more than "official" response to preffered pronouns and names (which I'm fully aware of the necessity of while in hospital) but no one skipped a beat! Helped me feel very safe and comfortable while dealing with a bad leg wound. It really meant a lot to me!

  • Candice Link

They were really good. Because of COVID and their renovations the waiting room in emergency is very small; However I went into emergency mid-morning and was having emergency surgery that late afternoon. I was in hospital for a couple of days and everyone I saw there (which was quite a lot of people) were all fantastic.. Especially the nurses.

  • Kristy Baglin

I recently had to be transferred to Monash hospital with a possibility of giving birth at 28 weeks. The staff did an amazing job of looking after me and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable as possible. The hospital looks extremely run down and in need of major attention but the staff are incredible. I can not thank them enough

  • Esko Lossi

The doctors and nurses were all excellent and caring. I would give them all a raise if it was up to me. I came to the hospital at night with chest pains. Eventually I was diagnosed with a blood clot in the lungs. They saved my life. You do need patience while waiting to be seen but that is because they prioritise the emergencies first.

  • Diddy

Waited a little while, though!.. I had a peice of metal fragment embedded in my eye, the nurses were excellent and the doctor attending was outstanding with great medical intervention,... He literally resolved my issue with in minutes.... They have also done a great job constructing the new emergency area. Keep up the good work.

  • Ahan Dey

Made me wait for 6 hours to get the final result as they thought i was not a severe patient . When i went to nurse to know when someone will come to take my x-ray after waiting for 4 hours she said i could leave with sign off if i don't want to wait. Some of the nurses at Monash are so rude and have no empathy for patients.

  • Emily Studd

The parking situation is a nightmare. 3/4's of the multistory carpark is closed, today only one lift shaft was working and the parking ticket machines malfunction and eat your concession parking ticket. If you absolutely need to attend Monash Clayton, either catch public transport or allow plenty of time to find a carpark.

  • Schwami Salami

Worst experience of my life. I was forced to wait, with an IV in my arm, from 1pm until 4pm the next day. During this experience I had a leg ulcer which meant I couldn’t sit. Despite this I was never provided a bed even though I was told I couldn’t leave the clinic as I may lose my ability to have surgery done.

  • Kristy Tong

Went into ED and have nothing but great things to say. From the moment we arrived to discharge. The nurse was fantastic and continued explaining things to us and the doctors were great at explaining things to us to ensure we were involved and aware of the care being provided. Can’t fault them.

  • Kaitlyn Steavenson

My health care team at Monash Health is the best. All specialists I see (and there’s a lot) are very competent and caring towards my health care. Very helpful when i ask questions and answer them to my satisfaction. Thank you to all staff members at Monash for the brilliant care I receive.

  • Cotch05 cotch

Waiting with an elderly parent in a lot of pain and only given Panadol only after l asked several times for some relief. walk ins happens and they are taken straight away even to check a plastered arm, seriously! The most vulnerable neglected Triage nurse very rude unempathetic

  • Tomislav Trpkovski

Worst Ever Treatment in my Life!!! On “No Food”diet from Wednesday midnight, went there Thursday morning for scheduled Operation(canceled till Saturday morning) Checked out only 1 hour after the Surgery!! Doctor who checked me out, didn’t have any Clue what I’m doing overthere!!

  • Man San Wong

Maternity was great when our daughter was born here. But Emergency is definitely understaffed. On two occasions, my wife needed medical attention over the weekend as our GP was not available. Both times we waited over 3 hours to see a doctor and left without any peace of mind.

  • Nyssa Leereveld

$25 for parking is criminal. Seriously parking should be free at hospitals! If they’re so adamant on charging for parking they should charge a flat $5 rate and use their profits to pay their overworked and underpaid staff instead of giving the profits to private companies.

  • Alex

The so called heart specialist didn't even know the difference between heart attack and heart failure ,implied my GP was incompetent while talking down to me and just gave me a pamphlet. Completely useless and a waste of time , will never go to this alleged hospital again

  • Shannon Toamau

PARKING is an absolute nightmare with all of the construction ‼️ Wxpect to be parking on level 4 or higher as the lower levels + the middle section of the parking is BLOCKED OFF Wxpect a big walk to and from your car even with the elevator operating ‼️ …

  • Bec Cao

The dumbest thing I’ve ever done is, I stepped into Emergency department at Monash Health Medical Centre. They do not know the definition of Emergency department, was forced to stay overnight and just wait for CT scan. Then charged you ridiculous amount of money.

  • Zhen-hong Nesbit-chang

I was very pleased with all staff at Monash Medical Centre who looked after my 94-year old father. Thank you to the staff in the Emergency dept; the Short Stay Hotel; and in Ward 41 too. Everybody was so professional and so helpful. Thank you so much. …
