Sadly, I must revise my review of Kmart Ashfield, as the original glowing words I posted are no longer accurate. While the staff are still wonderful and attentive -- no criticism there -- the changes in product lines have meant many staples are no longer stocked or in poor supply. Specifically, you can no longer buy fabric softener there, and the haberdashery department is abysmal. My greatest disappointment, however, is that this store has succumbed to the ludicrous practice of locating the checkout at the centre of the store, rather than near the exit. The reasoning behind this defies my understanding, so if whatever moron approved this would like to explain why, I am open to changing my view. Again, if not for the friendly and professional staff, I would only give this store one star.

I was a late arriving customer at the Ashfield store this week , my closest store is Burwood but I have sworn twice never to return. The Ashfield store is slightly smaller in size and range but the staff are exceptional . 10 minutes before close a young staff member gave me a hand looking for a product, he could not have been more helpful, the staff member at the service counter was fabulous and even the guard at the store entry was pleasant as I departed the store at 10:01 pm . Neat , all product well laid out , the product matched the tickets on the shelves as well , unheard of ! It’s not an easy time in retail with staff and product shortages ! 12/10 Ashfield, good layout , neatly stocked and with great staff , it is the place to shop .

The treatment I received a couple of days ago made me really consider shopping here.I was followed around store whilst looking for mittens etc ...than I went to self service to purchase my items.As I was approaching front exit I see the staff person at door is speaking on phone...I clearly hear the person say I had two items.... Never have I been so upset for no reason .I understand checking bags or if a detector was set off ...but to actually single me out. I have a theory about my experience my Brother made a complaint against a member of staff at this store after a racial slurs was used against him from a staff member at this store.

Staff member particularly named 'Patricia' was extremely rude. I was asking for simple requests for her to check stock on a particular product and she was highly unwilling to do so. She gave me attitude and it was an overall unpleasant experience trying to persuade her just to simply check the product code - it took at least 3 attempts to persuade her to do a system check. I felt extremely uncomfortable talking to her and hope others don't get the same treatment from her as I felt bullied just by having a conversation with her.

I've now made three online purchases. Items were chosen, added to a shopping cart, and then purchased. Days later, the purchaser received email notification that some of the items were out of stock. Given that not receiving one item could have an impact on all of the purchases, you would expect that Kmart would provide the option to cancel the order or not. Why else would you advertise unavailable goods? I realise that things expire, but in today's world, when the final one is gone, a purchase ought to be instantly blocked.

Very average store. Store not easy to navigate. Customer service not that great, staff are like automatons. September 2022 nothing has changed here. The store is even harder to navigate since it was renovated. Designed to hold you captive so you will walk around aimlessly and spend more. Very hard to find staff to assist you. And when you do find a team member they aren't friendly and appear horrified that you want assistance. Door greaters are extremely unfriendly and intimidating giving you a look as if are thief.

Thanks to the young worker who accidentally confirmed the stock for a rug I was after. I had gone to several other stores and called multiple store managers to see if they would have it. Some stores did not bother to pick up the phone, and other stores were not bothered to check or confirm that they had stock. Some other stores even told me they couldn't find it and that someone must have stolen it. I eventually go the rug after the workers at ashfiey K-mart were actually bothered to look for it.

The lady working at the door at 9 pm Wednesday night she should be fired she is the rudest women I have ever came across using foul language to customers, why would you want some one to be the face of the shop let alone work for you! And elderly lady had asked her a simple question of were something was and she said find it yourself Absolutely horrible behaviour from her. Very poor customer service here. The staff were not very helpful and seemed not interested on serving me. I asked one staff for an item I was looking for and he just pointed out that “it’s there in the middle section”, I also asked another staff and she just said “ yeah it’s there”, I then asked “ ok where is there?”, and she just walked away. It’s very sad to see a store like this treat customers this way, and I hope the management can properly train there staff on customer service.

It's cheap. It's big. The store has several sections and most of the stuff has different variety ranging from few bucks to a higher level according to the quality. It's a one stop shop for clothing, accessories, kitchenware, toys, decorative articles, school supplies, baby stuff, furniture, inner wear, shoes, bikes etc. The staff is good and cooperative. It's usually very well maintained apart from a few spaces like shoes where people just try and keep them wherever they wish to.

End up getting a paper cut for the new signage by accident (weird i know), ask the front person if he had a band aid and was not listening I had to repeat myself about two times. Just no care factor or empathy. After talking to the manager was at understanding and take on my feedback. But walking out the guy was talking to another how everyone likes to complain. Never anyone to answer your phone calls to this store. Just rings continuesly for hours on end, non stop. If your going to provide a phone number as a contact point, at least provide the staff to take the calls. Otherwise disconnect your phone service and don't supply a phone number in your advertising. It's all about putting profits before their workers and customers for the kmart bosses.

Kmart staff especially at the returns counter are doing an extraordinary job during these crazy times. I was there today and customers were so rude, impatient and volatile and the staff maintained their cool and were multitasking to ensure all customers needs were being met. Well done to you guys! Basic KMART but weird attitude of staff. Asked staff member where I can find the items for sale by pointing out the display piece. He shrugged his shoulders and said he doesn't know. When I asked if he can help find it (??) he said I should check stock online. Website said it should be available. He shrugged his shoulders again and said I should just queue up at service. Store was fine, tidier than most but the service wasn't great. I had to wait for a long time to get help at the self serve check out after waving to 2 women twice for attention. They looked at me and then continued their conversation before I had to call out to them. The woman seemed frustrated that she had to interrupt her conversation for 30 secs to come over and help.

Bag search staff member on Dec 28 2021 @ 12 noon was very rude and impatient. When she wanted to see inside my bag she said "bag" No "please" or "can I". When I was fumbling with the bag zipper she said "bag" again so I told her to wait. There are no signs inside or outside the store saying there are bag search. Good selection , easy find not massive like Burwood & Great staff ! I originally rated this Kmart . However after dealing with Samson not opening the glass cabinet- made me wait in a line -as he would prefer to put stock out as apposed to get the key to cabinet to make a sale of $120. His wk ethic and attitude need a recheck & a revisit to a training session.

I used to go here as a kid and it was just getting out of touch but since the renovation this kmart is really looking good. This is the only store that sold my dogs favourite toy, I looked at least 5 other stores and nowhere else it except here. The staff are super friend and exceptionally nice and patient with my grandmother who is a regular in the store.

I drove all the way there to get a gift and it wasn't in stock, even though the website said the item was in stock. One of the staff said the stock is delayed by 48hours and doesn't account for broken items and theft. I'm surprised Kmart hasn't accounted for this when displaying stock online. I don't think I'll shop in store again.

I love shopping at Kmart. I never had a tough time finding what I wanted. Considering the wide range of products they deal with, I have to say, they have organised their inventory so well. A good KMART store located in a shopping centre with a variety of options , including gym equipment, spinner weight bar and hand weights + an roller and hand hands (for assisted push ups) which were hard to get at my usual Kmart (gym bench not included). Clean, neatly organised and friendly staff. Recommend.

Good sized shop with a largish range. Staff was hard to find for help. Finally after crossing the length of the floor, I found a helper who offered to find the product I was after. He made me wait while he procured 2 of what I needed and handed them to me. Very courteous and bright. I'd go there again.

I could, and do, spend hours here. There are so many great things that you might not think you'd find in Kmart. Awesome small appliances and some pretty good crockery stand out for me at the moment, but worth keeping an eye on all departments as little treasures come up all the time.

They have good customer service here despite the shop is super busy. The staff are very helpful and patient in dealing with customers. The only problem is that there's no trolley station at the carpark to return their trolley so I took a liberty to bring it back to the shop.

The great store for kids with simple low price clothes, Toys & books that you're not worried about them doing any damage. Books are mostly priced between 9 to $12 which is great because I end up buying more books which means he gets a better learning experience
