Two weeks ago, we came for lunch. They were busy with someone ordering lots of sushi. Staff had two people and the older one was really rude with me. He was annoyed because I asked for key to toilets. Barely addressed me, but smiled with everyone else. Maybe he thought it was ok because I’m an Asian woman. Either way, my husband was served his lunch within 20 min, while I waited more than 45 minutes. It was just Yakitori. Everyone else got served first. By the time, it was done, I had to ask for takeway boxes because we needed to leavec and again, the older guy looked annoyed. The younger one at least was apologetic for the delay. It really is off-putting and disrespectful behaviour by the older man (owner maybe?). Sushi looked great but I’m not going to recommend this based on how I was treated.

First time visit on a Monday night, ordered mixed sashimi, gyozas, squid and teriyaki chicken fried rice. The sashimi was outstanding the tuna just melted in the mouth, gyozas have now been rated the best in Brisbane in our household. Fresh and well prepared food. The owner and staff clearly love what they do and do an amazing job at it. Super friendly staff. Will be a new favourite local for us.

We were quite amazed at this small sushi restaurant tucked away in Sherwood. Honestly, we didn’t hold high expectations as the physical impression of the shop wasn’t too appealing. Usually two sushi rolls aren’t enough for the two of us but we thought we’d try out the flavours first. We were quite shocked as the sushi was humongous and not your normal serving size (even the avocado wrapped inside). Other than the fact that it was a bit too saucy in my opinion, sushi rice were well cooked and seasoned, and all components were perfectly balanced.

Everything here is amazing. Produce is fresh and everything handmade with care to order. Food quality to rival the top Japanese restaurants in Brisbane. Anyone who doesn't rate this 5 stars is a complete dead beat and bogan with taste spuds like a cows backside. UPDATE: Recently dined after 6 months away in Sydney. Still the best Japanese I've had in 2 capital cities. Still my first stop for dinner when I get back!

Best Japanese food I have had at a similar price-point in Brisbane thus-far. Very calm and unassuming vibe. Extremely heavy tea set, nice and tactile. Big tea pot as well which you seldom see. The miso soup had some lovely cubed tofu inside. Ordered Yaki-Udon. Textures and flavours were fantastic. My only complaint is that the serving size was a bit small for the price-point, but totally worth it nonetheless. Heavily recommend.

Went here for lunch and the guy was stressed and swamped cause one of his staff didn't show up. But he was really accommodating and friendly, he made our food for us straight away freshly. Ordered 3 plates of sushi and the portions are really good solid sizes. The seared salmon was fresh and it wasn't paper thin, nice slices. The chicken and prawns were crispy and the egg wrapped roll was done perfectly. Considering the prices of some other places, I'd say this is worth the price. Will be back again :)

First time to this clean, cozy and friendly staff Japanese Cafe. We ordered Salmon Tatami Bento Box, Unagi Don, Spider Roll. Presentation was immaculate, Unagi was thick and fresh and tasted just like the Japanese eel and not Chinese ones. Only comment is the price of the sushi is a bit expensive and would be more competitive if a few dollars cheaper. We usually go to a Japanese restaurant at Paddington and the sushi is more well priced with the same quality.

We love Yunas! It’s been our favourite local restaurant for the last 18 months. The food is incredible and it’s just gotten better over time. It’s very reasonably priced for the portions, we always accidentally over order. The chefs are so lovely and the service is great. They are always busy so order a bit earlier than you normally would but I promise it’s worth the wait as everything is made fresh!!

A Japanese restaurant hides in the small block. It is a small place, 20 seats only but they are so busy. The salmon TATAKI bento is tasty and lovely. Scallops sushi is fresh today.

Quaint little small business. The takeaway food was very nice. So only gets 4 stars ATM as it was my first visit and have not tried any of its sit down menu. However if their takeaway is good nuff said.

quite the wait (30min+) but understandably so as there was only 2 staff members, both being the chefs. highly recommended for the quality & presentation of food though, it was on par to the food i had when i visited japan so ill be coming back :)

I was really looking forward this dining experience, unfortunately it did not live up to the reviews for me. I ordered the wagyu bento box. The wagyu was fair enough but I wasn’t expecting mashed potato and and a spring roll cut in half as the other main portions to the bento box. Maybe I will have to try something else next visit if I come back. Service was ok

Perfect! Had the Wagyu Steak and some avocado sushi and it was everything I wanted, finish off with a miso soup! Wagyu was cooked perfectly, will be coming back!

I hesitate to write this review because I want to keep this place a secret. But it is consistently excellent, delicious and well priced. Honestly, the best Japanese food I’ve had and it’s always fresh! It’s become a regular spot for us. If I could give it six stars I would.

Blown away by this place. It's a small mum and pop shop with just one person in the kitchen so bare in mind you will wait a bit but the food is amazing and well worth the wait. I'm definitely coming back here for more next time. So glad to have this place in our neck of the woods.

I have ordered a few dishes, but I only took photos of some of them. Everything was far beyond my expectations. Although the waiting time was a bit long, the food is definitely worth it. These dishes are more delicious and look better than the dishes in other much more expensive restaurants.

The food was cooked to perfection. It’s definitely the best Japanese restaurant in Brisbane by a mile. A hidden gem and I will certainly be back for more!

The sushi rolls were 10/10 and the service was great! The food is definitely worth the wait, rice was fresh (not soggy or mushy), vegetables were fresh and the fried ingredients were light and crispy, not at all oily. Definitely would return for more in the future!

This is the best place to get good quality sushi I believe, I just regretted why I didn’t find it earlier. Very nice chef by the way.
