I am disturbed at the level of carelessness that regional manager Jeanette and assistant manager at this Whole Foods showed while I tried to attend to 2 dogs in a hot care in their parking lot today at 1:17pm. I asked them if they could please call the license plate over intercom because there are two dogs in a van and the window was cracked, the assistant manager proceeded to tell me that he wouldn't because the window is cacked. I then asked Whole foods employees standing outside if they could do anything and what is their safety policies regarding animals in danger and she, Regional Manager Jeannette told me she doesn't pay much attention to those types of things. Then the assistant manager proceeded to stand outside with them as I called the police to get them out and attend to these poor dogs, who were visibly upset and panting after being left in this hot van for 30 minutes. Only after I confronted the guy who is the owner of the vehicle about his carelessness, is when managers decided to step back inside, as if they were done watching the show. I proceeded to return all my items as I can NOT in good faith give my money to a company who could care less about pets potentially dying in their parking lots, especially being that I am the founder of a pet care company and aid in animal welfare. This will not go unpunished, I hear that they almost always will call people over intercom if there is any sort of issues, but why wasn't this request honored when I am the one who requested it? Retrain your managers, regional or local. You have people working corporate who don't even know policy.

Update: Great customer service. Linda in the pizza/hot foods section is the nicest! She always speaks. Fresh foods may stay on the shelf too long. Good for them for not being wasteful but there are certain days of the week I've learned to avoid. I don't want food that's gonna spoil 24 hours later. Love getting their hot food from the food bar. Hoping they update the menu/selection but its nice that it's an option. Prior: I frequent this location for both in-store shopping and curbside. Usually a positive experience but not so much as of recent. My cashier yesterday was too busy chatting with the bagger. Ignored me when I spoke and didn't acknowledge me other than to receive the payment. Rude. Recently saw a man tasting food from the buffet. He didn't reach in but used the tongs to taste what he wanted. The store is making an effort to put out gloves for the buffet area but I notice most people bypass that (which was more of a reason for me to use them). I appreciate the effort but someone should keep an eye on it. Today I bought a salmon salad from the prepared foods area and there was hair in it (not mine). Please do better.

I love their selection of quality foods. They are having a good sale now on Chocolate, Siete Kettle Potato Chips and Organic Blueberries. Excellent customer service today as usual. Chocolate and Three Trees Almond Milk are on sale until early September. This week's sale that includes Simple Mills cookies, crackers and Soft Baked Almond Flour Bars, Organic Wild Rice, Malk Organic Almond Milk as well as many other items ends today. Alter Eco chocolate and Bonafide Frozen Bone Broth are on sale until this coming Tuesday. They're both healthy and nutritious products. Whole Foods is having a sale for Braggs Apple Cinder Vinegar and Alter Eco dark chocolate that is available until Tuesday. Their new sales start Wednesday. Their bakery department has vegan apple cider doughnuts that aren't always available so I suggest you call before going there to determine if they have any left. At Whole Foods today prime members got discounts on organic medjool dates cookies at the bakery and Classic Hummus. If any of those items interest you I suggest you call to find out when the sale ends.

WORST Whole Foods in Texas. Terrible people, terrible place. Any other Whole Foods I go to is Top Notch and has great energy. This one, no. For years, I've tried to give this place chances. The employees are rude, some but not all. The cashiers suck. The customer service is TERRIBLE. The atmosphere is giving racist who doesn't think they're racist, and I've seen how they treat their employees of color. Especially, the Black people who work there. I've even heard from several former employees that they've experienced a plethora of trauma since leaving Whole Foods Montrose. From the false accusations to the unfair treatment...but that's another story. Let's get into their food bar which ALWAYS has flies flying over it. I've even complained about seeing flies dead in the food and the employee looked at me crazy. Didn't even bother to change it. Very disgusted. I've seen an employee drop a customer's food container (with food still in it) and handle it to them, unbeknownst. Whole Foods Montrose is the WORST Whole Foods in Houston.

WFM is starting to slide. Ever since Amazon bought them-they've been on a slow decline. 10 years ago they were the best.. Over past 6 months this location and many others in area are stocking stale bad organic produce. They don't pay attention to the perishable items. Bad meat lousy rubbery poultry and bad tasting beef. The embellished/touted bell evans poultry is not good anymore- high priced without the relative value-(u don't get money's worth). Many of the wild caught fish has odor and not good. they won't consider alternative organic brands. Too much excessive nonsense nonessential stuff in WFM like wine/cheese and bake items that most health-conscious consumers don't really care about-this is a distraction from the fact that their core product is not good anymore. FOCUS on the central core perishables lie the organic meats and produce. the staff tries hard but the buyers that source the items and the warehouse/ distribution system is broken. Constructive feedback goes nowhere with these guys anymore.

My husband and I travel quite a bit for work and we love visiting WF all over! (We jokingly claim to be WF 'aficionados'). In my 10+ years of being a loyal WF customer, this location is hands down the best. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the PRODUCE DEPT. MANAGER at this location. The fruit is always fresh, and stocked. If you have questions the produce department is there with a smile to answer any of your concerns. I have given praise to the managers at this location; even letting them know I drive out of my way to come to this one specifically and even compliments are appreciated! The managers and employees who recognize me always stop to say hello and ask me how I am doing. Some even ask about my dogs who we have shared stories about. This Whole Foods is better than Cheers, because not only does everyone know your name but it has the added bonus of the juiciest apples you could ever sink your teeth into.

I'm in love like I've fallen in love with the vegan fish free tuna salad at Whole Foods Market for lunch. When I got back to work I assembled my sandwich and damn near flipped out the chair it was that good. Oh and I can't forget about the refreshing Brownsboro blueberry green tea by Texas Tea. Let not forget a young lady in the bakery area helped me find the vegan chocolate chip cookies that were in the back and hadn't been put out on the display table yet. Y'all when I tell you I'm so glad I decided to go to Whole Foods Market for my lunch break because they definitely made me smile ☺ and just made my whole day. I'm so full that I only ate half my sandwich and will most definitely finish it off for dinner. #NoDoubt #NoMeat #VeganLife #PlentyofOptions #WhoSaysVegansDontEatGood #Yum #Yum #Yummy

The amazon return center was weird: The first person was extremely helpful. Nice. We had to return to the store due to an issue we inadvertently created (returned to something that was supposed to be returned to Amazon hub, to this Amazon counter location). The Lady who was supposed to help us just dismissed us and walked away. That was disappointing. But then i walked and asked for a manager (to help with my inquiry, not complain) and the gentleman bagging groceries said "tell me, maybe i can help", and he did. I had to call the Service number in the photo and they ended up noting that returns are accepted at counter, but refunds just take longer to process as they're shipped back to Amazon hub. Hope that helps the next guy/girl.

Best beers! Beers! Beers specially some German Texas beers. I recommend alstad Kolsch and Alstad Lager. Im a 2 year vet at whole foods (beer wise) and ive tried all their IPA’s their german beer like Paul Hefe Weiz, i even drank french, spanish, argentinian, italian wines (prices 13-38). From wine my favorites are the Argentinian wines use the vivino app and it will help you to choose anything above a 3.9 Overall my favorite by far my favorite alcohol as a Men an for a Men is the Kolsch Alstad or the Blue Lager Really manly beers right there, the wine is nice from time to time with the wife but there is nothing like the taste of that blue lager from alstad or that hefe or kolsch

Contaminated baby formula placed on shelf to be sold. Holle goat milk formula was purchased at Montrose Whole Foods location. Assuming the can was opened by a house hold member, the item was used until we noticed an ABBOTT American made baby formula scooper in the European Holle goat formula can. During that time my 9 month baby grew extremely ill with persistent vomiting his Emergency Room visit. Insane that this item was shelved, sold, and even delivered in a secured shopping bag at my home. Failure to properly doing inventory is unacceptable. I believe the item was returned and placed back on store shelves. Have gotten little help with their liability lawyers Gallagher and Bassett

Another disappointment: The hot bar was full but there wasn't anything worth eating. All their chicken lately is way overcooked. No juicy or tender meat, just boiled or fried hard as a rock. The quality has plummeted since Amazon took over. The potstickers used to be delicious, until Amazon replaced the old sauce with some awful vinegar based stuff. Now I rarely buy them. The desserts have grown old and tired, no variety, more expensive, smaller portions. I once again couldn't find anything to eat here except a few pears and one apple. They'll be out of business within a few years at this rate.

Stay away from the cooked salmon! Ugh! We just spent $17 on the most disgusting, fishy, smelly piece of salmon I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. It was sickening, completely inedible and we had to throw it away. Just thinking about it now makes my stomach turn. It's clear that they simply cook their rotten salmon when it has gone so bad that it cannot be sold fresh and attempt to pawn it off on their unsuspecting customers. It's a despicable practice and we will NEVER BUY IT AGAIN. In fact, this has turned me off on Whole Foods so much that I may never shop there again.

I don’t like leaving bad reviews but maybe this one will help someone else. I had ordered a Chantilly cake through the catering website. I received a confirmation of the order plus several emails reminding me to pick it up. When I got to the store at the appropriate window, I found out my cake had not been made. This was for a party that same afternoon. Becky accommodated me with a premade cake but it was not what I ordered or paid for. I considered other bakeries before choosing Whole Foods because the Chantilly cake is a favorite of ours. I will not make that mistake again.

I’m from Houston and shop btw two Whole Foods on Kirby and Waugh. I also recently lived in Denver for a for a few and went to the Whole Foods in Cherry Creek regularly. I’m a small amount shopper and will go to the the local WF store a bunch throughout the week. With my in and outs of WFs at all locations. the Waugh location seems to be poorly managed with a staff that gets upset when you ask them for something ie the deli section. The deli section there is mad at the world. But the butcher, checkout, coffee, and cheese folks are cool. But again seems poorly managed…

Wish I could give 0 stars for poor service, and lack of availability. Went shopping for a few items and the selections were slim pickings. Ended in the sandwich/ pizza area and I was greeted by a “gentlemen” that said NO to every request I made. No I can’t make a new pizza. No I can’t order a pizza. No they don’t have any ciabatta bread to make the TTLA No I can’t remove or add items, or build my own sandwich No No No No explanation, No compromise, No customer service. Just no. Ask me if I’ll stop here again. NO!

  • Robbie Jansky

Great location with tons of traffic. Selection is wide and varied, priced about $$ what you would expect for this type of food and service. Always clean, bright, well-light, friendly help close by and within walking distance from many attractions and other amenities that are sure to fit your needs! I love getting their fresh juices and fruits, sometimes the breakfast bar in the morning is quite enticing. The reuben sandwich is flavored well, and a wide variety of salad choices as well!

  • Victor Law

We came to this Whole Foods Market to pick up some groceries. It was busy but not packed. The parking lot was decently full. I love how Whole Foods Market sets up their displays. I always felt comfortable shopping and going through all the cool items that they stock. They also do an amazing job neatly stacking their produce. If you are here, make sure you stop at the hit food station to pick up a quick lunch or snack.

  • Iris Etchevarren Acquarone

Yes, best for organics, non-GMO, more on the “natural” end etc. products, and the 365 brand products are a great option for organic products at a reasonable price. However, be careful when buying fresh products here… For fruits and veggies, HEB, etc. Are quite better in terms of quality-price and you can indeed trust what you see (organics too)! (I’m attaching image of product bought as shown less than 24hs ago.)

  • Zahra

Groceries, health and home items, fresh baked breads, sweets, pizza, sandwiches, salad and Soup bar & more! Lots of vegan/vegetarian selections. Great store with a large selection of items from wine and spirits to fresh fruits and veggies. Great for picking up meals with lots of options made in house and ready to go. Clean and organized with plenty of parking space, area inside and outside available to sit/eat.

  • Tony Houchin

I had one thing in my hand. The checker said she was closed. No big deal… so I get out of her line and into another. She asked if I was paying with a card… probably to direct me to the self checkout, but I only had cash. While standing in line with my 1 item… she indicates to the person BEHIND me to get in her line. I left without buying my one item. And was quite disappointed to be honest.

  • Jonathan Espinoza

This Whole Foods is my favorite. They carry all my preferred specialty drinks, and their grocery selection is vastly diverse. The workers who make the food are courteous, and staff is very helpful. My wife and I enjoy walking to their coffee bar, which serves delicious, healthy drinks. Finally, it’s so convenient that they have an Amazon return hub, which we’ve never had issues with.

  • The Thumbs Critic

It's a 'Whole Foods' grocery store. I'm still a bit leery of the scales and don't know how a salad with only greens and no dressing can cost nearly $20. The dining area is a sauna. I know they may need to discourage the problem of homeless people camping there all day, but they need to ensure the very visible AC vents are actually working to provide cool air to paying customers.

  • Carmen V

I love going to this "Whole Foods" everything is always clean and organize. It's one of the best buffet for fast food eat for lunch! Their buffet food is always warm, fresh, and very tasty. Shout out to the Cooks! I love there chicken enchiladas. They also have awesome tasty desserts for lunch as well as drinks. I highly recommend to visit this "Whole Foods" if your close.

  • Nicole Price

Love coming here. Just don't like the fact that they don't have enough baggers to help bag groceries. Sometimes when I come here their aren't even that many check out aisles open for the 16 items or more. Other than that the food is great. Atmosphere is nice. Just make sure you have adequate time to spend in here because you can lose track of it.

  • Raul Gutierrez (Lucky)

Had a last minute cake order for a work event that I needed to say "The cake is a lie." And the service desk associate that helped me worked with the bakery department to make it happen. It came out perfect and all worked out over a few phone calls (and a lot of confused giggling) to make sure they got it right. Kudos to everyone involved!

  • Jaime Reverte

Don’t ever buy a gift for somebody at this place, my mother in law, who has a memory problem, gave me a pair of slippers, and she lost the receipt. I just went to exchange them for a different size and I was denied, because I don’t have the receipt, these slippers are only sold at Whole Foods. Terrible customer service, never again.

  • Patti Westbrook

This WFM is smaller than some but still has a big selection of produce and supplements. They also have a fairly extensive meat counter. The food bar is huge with hot foods and salads to take away or eat at their dining area. They also have outside seating. Staff is generally pleasant and the store is usually well stocked.

  • tj stapleton

Love that the bike lane is for the most part separated from the road along Waugh and one can ride directly to this Whole Foods. The outdoor seating area is magnificent as is the indoor space. Complimentary wifi and water as well as condiments with the baked goods, coffee and tea—how much more perfect could it get? : ).

  • phil

rs running your amazon delivery service. I wont be supporting these thieving pieces of trash. The only people in there are employees who claim they dont work there and thieves who dont work there going through all the whole foods amazon orders. IF YOU ENJOY RANDOM PEOPLE GOING THROUGH YOUR FOOD, ORDER DELIVERY HERE

  • eleine vence

I am a Whole Food customer because I think they offered good quality products. Today I was mistreated in the store by a rude cashier. She lost her temper because I asked to double check the price of a bouquet of flowers. It is there job to do that if the customer thinks that is being overcharged.

  • J C

This is a great location with a very helpful staff. They have a decent wine collection. They have wines from France, Germany, Italy, South America and other parts of the world. The store is very, very clean. They also have a floral section, free trade flowers which is wonderful.

  • David Temple

Sliced oranges, organic bananas, sparkling water, ground beef piccodillo, and fresh strawberries are my son’s favorite. Thank you for always having a great stock. Great snacks to bring to Buffalo Bayou and Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark. Thank you for your wonderful staff!

  • Patrick McLevaine

Whole Foods Market is my new favorite place to shop for groceries! They have so many healthy options and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The variety of selections is outstanding and it's fun just to walk through the store and see all the different foods to try!

  • Robin Deluna

I was disappointed at my first Whole Foods experience. I decided that we wanted to start eating better produce, and so we ventured out to Whole Foods. Much to my surprise, the produce was better at HEB, which is where I currently shop. Back to HEB it is!

  • Lucy Santos

It's a good idea to visit various stores to check out certain items like imported food. The store has very exclusive products, which may be difficult to find elsewhere. Also, you can check out the fresh pastry and lunch salads, etc. Lunch area is unique.

  • Red Crimson

Hard to find assistance in the aisles, youll find more vendors than actual WF employees it seems like. The few workers you spot are usually walking around aimlessly. Also the older lady in the meat department needs customer service training, very rude.

  • Enlighten Me

Love this place for the variety of natural and organic foods. I love tea and they always have something I like. I just wish they would sell their bread pudding year round as it is most delicious! The blueberry, white chocolate is my favorite!

  • Thomas ODonnell

I was looking for McMann's cinnamon and apple oat meal. They only had the regular. Central Market carries their full selection but out of the cinnamon abd apple. Whole Foods used to be competition for Central Market but I guess not anymore.

  • Jason

Absolutely the best staff especially in the health department. The hot food bar is a little lacking. But their meat department is top notch. They have sushi, pizza, custom sandwiches, and a top notch bar so you can sip the finest while

Jeff, from the meat market, came thru after there was a mix up with our on line Thanksgiving turkey. He found a turkey in another part of the State and had it shipped to the store, on time, for us. He is the best. Thank you Jeff

  • Anthony Rodriguez

Centrally Located and great location. Whole Foods offers a great selection of health food and beverage choices as well as on the go meals you can take to go or enjoy inside the climate controlled patio or outside.

  • Liz Sweigart

Great selection and spacious parking lot make it easy to get in and out of here quickly. Staff is friendly and helpful. It has everything you’d expect to find in a large Whole Foods Market. Definitely recommend.

  • Olga Figueroa (The Real Before and After)

I am a regular customer of this brand...and I go to the closest location to get lunch. This particular location is yet the freshest ever! The food is always fresh and it seems that it was done with great care.

  • Andrea Michelle

I always get my organic blueberries and strawberries from here and nowhere else. This is a great location and I always find exactly what I'm looking for. Loveeee whole foods! The prime membership is worth it!

  • Austin Stromberg

Whole Foods is incredible! This store has a great selection of produce and pretty much anything you would want. The staff is really friendly and the food is super fresh. So glad this is my neighborhood store!

  • Jesse

Everything there is expensive. Went in looking for a small snack I typically get from Kroger. A similar product cost 2x as much. If you don't see a price next to any food, ask for the numbers before you buy!

  • Cyril Alexei

Fine store but could use a better selection. Jeff Bezos and the other oligarchs are culling the selection to try and further put small businesses out of business to consolidate power. Try Sprouts instead

  • Robert Sander

Great place to shop and eat food you choose yourself because you are taking how much you want. No menu you take what you see. We always eat here before the theater at night, it works out fine for us.

  • Antonio Helm

The best Whole Foods in the city. A beer and wine bar. When u need service it is quick and friendly. Tonnes of parking. Lots of fresh reasonably priced fruit and produce. The best bakery in the city.

  • Brett Harmeling

Awesome spot for fresh food and snacks. I don’t typically grocery shop her other then meats. I love their selection of beverages and their bakery. Really awesome place to grab a quick, healthy bite.

  • Howard Titchmarsh

Good store, excellent help and advice on supplements from knowledgeable and helpful staff but it’s not inexpensive and not to be confused with a health food store. Ample parking.

  • Yelper Lou MC

I like this unique Whole Foods Market in Montrose area. Plenty of parking but narrower aisles. Lots of fresh produce to buy. I like the meat section and Amazon counter.

  • John West

Great store with a wide diversity of healthy items. I’ve always liked shopping here due to the wide array of food. I especially like their prepared foods and meals.

  • Jackie Driver

I really like Whole Foods I do… however, some things are just a bit ridiculous. 10.00 for some cut up watermelon…. Like you can buy 3 for that price at HEB. I

  • Maria Hernandez

It's the perfect place to shop because you can trust the food you sre buying. It has a lot of organic options and it's always clean and organized

  • D Roberts

Great food and service. My go to for Amazon returns, except today. Why is the garage blocked. It's well after 7 and where else is there to park?

  • Dan Wolf

The most impressive thing about whole foods to me is how beautifully they stack the produce. That in itself is almost performance art.

  • Alyssa Peters

Love this market. Everything is organized, there are excellent customer service and very knowledgeable of their jobs. I'm so happy.

  • Rebecca Olbrych

The fresh produce and seafood and meat anywhere. I bought chicken italian sausage made in house and it was the best I ever tasted!

Not everything is expensive. However, I can find the same and better quality of food in HEB for less.
