We ordered from Viona shortly after they first opened and were not impressed with the pizzas that we received. Instead of writing a nasty review, I decided to wait and see if they simply needed to make adjustments to their recipes. We have consequently ordered two more times from the Mount Hope location and the change has been significant. Originally, the texture and taste of the crust was not pleasing and the sauce did not have a flavour that matched well with any pizza I have ever eaten before. The change however, has been a pleasant surprise. The crust is now crispy at the edges and light and fluffy without being too thick or thin. I'm not fond of a chewy, doughy crust and Viona's seems to cook all the way through to the center without burning the outer edges. The overall result is a crust that is consistent all the way through. The sauce now has a balanced acidity that matches well with the crust. It's also not too sweet or over seasoned. This makes a huge difference to a pizza as some places put too much emphasis on certain herbs and spices (too much Oregano leaves a woody taste on the palate for example) Viona still uses a blended cheese topping, which might be an issue for purists who only want mozzarella, but to be honest, the blend actually works quite well with the taste of their sauce. Toppings have never really been an issue at Viona's. Too many toppings leaves a pizza soggy and messy, while too few leave you feeling like you're overspent. Viona's pies could have slightly more toppings, but on a positive note, they are cooked through and are usually fresh tasting. (We even had pineapple on one of ours and often those can verge on almost turned at other locations) The staff at Viona's can't be overlooked. Every Interaction we have had with them, whether on the phone or at the counter has been positive, friendly and helpful. It's nice to have a local pizzeria again and I hope others give them another chance. I look forward to trying more from their menu. I see that they offer burgers as well, so perhaps I will write an update to this review once I have a chance to try them!

My review has nothing to do with food as I wasn’t able to get any… First, I acknowledge that it’s opening weekend for this business, that only explains so much. Closing at 7:00 on Sunday evening is way to early, strike one. Knowing that, we called at 5:45 to get an order in, various recorded messages that we could not get through, so we left a message, not returned, strike two. So, we drove over at 6:00 to order and wait. Smelled good, people waiting, met by a friendly girl, asked her if we could order. She was unsure, went into the kitchen and was informed they close at 7:00, too late, strike three. I’d be trying a lot harder to get my business established, I’m pretty sure this isn’t the only location, experienced people shouldn’t have these issues. I’m sure we will try again, I’d like to have a chance to review the food. UPDATE: We tried again, first thing we noticed is that the Sunday hours have been extended, bravo! As before, the people on the phone and in store are very friendly. We ordered a medium pepperoni, a medium pepperoni/mushroom/green pepper, and an order of mozzarella sticks. Overall everything was good, hot, fresh toppings, the pizza crust could use some work (kinda dense and doughy). I’ll skip the mozzarella sticks next time as they were small and did not include any dipping sauce. Overall, it’s nice to have a local pizza place. Reading the reviews, it seems that the owner is listening and working hard to improve as time passes. We’ll definitely go back.

Not going to lie I’m surprised to see some people are raving about this pizza. I was SOO excited to try it only being a few minutes away. We ordered 2 pizzas and dipping sauce (which I may add it’s store bought and $2!!! Each) but anyways, I called in around 3pm to have it ready for 5:45pm on a Wednesday a few days after opening and when I got there they told me it was in the oven and I waited 20 minutes still. Thankfully I was given free garlic bread so I’ll let it slide plus being new, fine. But honestly their dough/crust is the worst I’ve ever tried. SO sad cause the other review that said it tasted like frozen pre-made dough is completely right, tasted like an oven pita pizza. They really should fix the dough. And then the toppings were really skimpy especially for just opening as 4 of us all commented on it only have maybe a few peppers and not even on every slice was one. Overall we wouldn’t go back but I’ll give another try in the new year hoping it was a fluke. Otherwise Garth pizza is worth driving 3 times the distance for. One other thing is they don’t have any slices or combos with just 1 pizza and wings like every one place does ?!

I called to order two large pizzas, as the flyer I received in the mail offered two large for $26.99. When I arrived there, they tried to make us pay $35+tax. When I asked to know why I couldn’t have the special I was told “you’d have to tell us in advance that you want the two large pizza-special, because then we will put less cheese and sauce on them. I’ve already given you full sauce and full cheese - look at it!” I laughed out loud at this. Really? So, I’m getting a discount to eat pizza dough and some veggies instead of a real pizza? Alas, the pizza was pretty good and since I live less than 1km from here, I’ll probably go back anyway - but I won’t be ordering any of the specials! Updated “food rating” to 5 stars. This is the best pizza around as far as I’m concerned. I’ve also had a couple conversations with the people who work here. They’re good people. Would definitely recommend.

I've had pizza 10 times better out of a frozen box. The dough was dry and floppy, it was covered in oil and not nearly worth the price. Seriously $7 for cardboard with oil and proccessed ingredients all over it. To be honest it looks like they spent more money on remodeling than the food because I went to this place before it became viona and it was very attractive visually. Furthermore I have co-workers who have gone here and said the burgers are also not very appetizing either. It's a convenient spot for airport employees but, I being one of them knows that we're no stranger to going for a bit of a drive to get some QUALITY food. And timhortons is like 5 mins away with better quality speed and prices. Good luck Viona you've got a lot of changes to make if you wanna out live the pigeon.

We were very excited a pizza place was opening in Mount Hope, and I hate giving them a 1 Star but hopefully it will help them approve. Was told pizza would be ready in 1 hour 6 pm. Than he said wait no 615 I will call you when ready. We'll at 620 I went over not knowing if they forgot to call me or not. Finally got my pizza at 645. The chicken shawarma was not edible, dough was not cooked and the pizza smelled terrible. We got another pizza and no one in the family could even eat it after 1 bite. We basically tossed 50 bucks as 2 large pizzas went in the trash. The local community Facebook group is all complaining and we all hope they take the reviews and complaints seriously and fix their issues. As of now alot of people keep saying they won't come back.

As an absolutely huge pizza fanatic, this place is absolutely terrible. The crust is basically what the Great value pizza offers at Walmart for 3.27. The cheese tastes like almost nothing. Toppings are worse than Pizza Pizza. I swear this pizza shop must be open to launder money because its literally disgusting. First time ordering. I was excited as I live down the street and there's no pizza shops near by. I phoned in an order for pick up at 448pm on a Tuesday, gentleman took my order, name and number. Then said "I'll call you back". In all my years ordering a pizza from hundreds of different places, in numerous countries, have i been told that. Its always, "thanks it'll be ready in 15 minutes, 20 minutes etc". Well nobody did call back, and an hour later I called twice, there was no answer. *beware of all the phony 5 star reviews. Numerous first time raters that share one similarity *response to owner* How about checking who was working that day at that time, and retraining them on how to properly take an order over the phone. I understand this is a pizza joint but they have hamburgers on the menu so I thought I would try that for lunch since they should care for whatever comes out of their kitchen. The fries were completely undercooked and raw, the bacon was also raw, rubbery and inedible. The homemade patty was ok at best but it didn't help that they allowed the patty to catch fire and burn then still serve it. Based off of this first experience and other reviews I have seen about their pizza, I wouldn't bother trying anything else from them after this. Especially after paying over $20 for this sub-par lunch. Very let down with this experience. Don't waste your time or money here.

Stopped in on a Thursday evening during Grey Cup weekend (November 2023). We had planned to take the pizza next door but that establishment quickly changed their mind and told us we couldn't bring in outside food. So we went back to Viona and asked if we eat in, despite it being very near closing time. The owners had no problem letting the four of us stay a bit late past closing. And the pizza? Incredible!!! Can't say enough good things about this place. Sure, it closes a little earlier than most but I respect their business decisions. Definitely worth stopping in if you want quality pizza in Mount Hope!

Full disclosure, I previously reviewed this restaurant after opening weekend and it was the most underwhelming experience. We swore we wouldnt try again. I starting seeing positive reviews on our local FB group and gave it a try. It's a complete transformation of their pizza. Soft pillowy dough and generous toppings. A far cry from their original offering. I haven't tried the wings or burgers so I can't comment on that, but the pizza is great. I'm glad the business took the advice of the customers and made changes. We will be back.

I ordered a Lg cheese pizza comes with chedder, mozzarella and goat cheese. I didnt even smell a hint of goat cheese let alone see or taste any. I ordered a Lg bbq chicken pizza. These pizzas taste and look like frozen pizza'sthat were reheated and sold at ~$18 avg. Not worth the try, not worth the calories, just go to the closest frozen aisle and buy the same things there. The ONLY saving grace is that the store is typically empty so there isnt a high risk of other people needing to suffer and try this place out.

Pizza was actually pretty good but the customer service is definitely lacking. Ordered for pickup an hour in advance and still waited when we arrived. Left with our food and when we got home the mediterranean salad didn’t even come with dressing. I’m hoping these are just growing pains of a new business because they won’t stay busy with being rude to customers. Called back when we got home and just got put on hold and they never came back. The staff working on Oct 14th 2023 were even better, they found a way to ensure my order was exactly what I wanted and made it happen. People in Viona Pizza delivery and or pick up region don't hesitate. PS for PIZZA lovers the lepord print crust is where it's at. ( no Pizza screen ). 5 EASY. Let me start off by welcoming your business to Mount Hope. I was excited to hear a pizza joint was opening nearby..as mount hope has none. So my family ordered some pizza. Not overly impressed..dough needs work...it's bakery style bread .. toppings were skimpy and bland. Overpriced for what it was honestly. But hey everything expensive. I hope you improve on crust and toppings....if you can do that you will have a hit on your hands. Good location. Wasn't my favorite but im optimistic it will improve. Good luck.

It was ok, fine for a new location working ot the kinks. Pizza was ready for pick up when they said it would be. It was overcooked but still tasty, we would have liked more sauce. The BBQ chicken pizza had lots of chicken, couldn't taste the BBQ. We didn't love the crusts, tasted premade... they weren't too thick but still held up well. Two of the 3 pizzas we got didn't have much sauce. Overall it was fine, time will tell.

I recently tried the pizza at Viona Pizza, and I was thoroughly impressed. The crust was perfectly crispy, and the sauce had a delightful balance of sweetness and tanginess. Iceberg lettuce wasn't good ( added more lettuce when I got home) I understand the lettuce salad but Romain lettuce is for ceaser salad. The onion rings however were really good.

I just cannot give a quick service restaurant that asks for a tip, 5 stars. It ruins the experience. Why would I pay 15% more for my food, just because you ask? Servers have crazy laws that exploit them and pay them too little - that's why they get tips. You should not be asking for tips at a pizza joint.

We gave this place a try and didn't disappoint. Ordered Viona Pizza special with wings and the quality was excellent. We'll definitely order more from them. The staff were also friendly too.
