Ordered two gin and tonics from the female bartender at the front of the club and they charged me $65! About thirty minutes later my friends order some from the bartender at the bar in the back and they were charged $13. When my friends told her what her co-worker did, she was even caught off guard/surprised. I tried going back to the original bartender to ask if maybe there was a miscommunication or something in what I’d ordered, the bartender that overcharged me, she got very defensive and threatened to have the bouncer kick me out. Honestly, if it wasn’t for the fact that my friend was DJing that night, I wouldn’t go back because of the single experience with one crooked bartender.

A cool space. Liked the fact that they play Techno. Doesn't make sense you're there for dinner and spend 300 dollars but stilm have to pay $10 admission. The fog machine is an overkill when it's on all night. I ordered two drinks, paid with a credit card and pulled cash out to give the bartender. Before i gave the cash i was rudely told that "tip isn't included in the drink price". I don't know if people don't leave tips, or management tells her to say that. Whatever the case it's rude. Would check it out again, but not my first go to for a night out.

Nous avions acheté des billets pour l'événement d'Halloween...nous ne sommes jamais arrivés à l'entrée tellement l'attente était interminable. Les gens étaient tous découragés et certains en venaient aux poings et aux insultes pendant que l'équipe de sécurité complètement inefficace en laissait rentrer d'autres qui s'incrustait de force devant les files. J'ai du mal à croire qu'un établissement comme le vôtre qui organise une soirée "sold out" ne sache pas comment gérer la situation....pas très professionnel. Nous n'y remettrons plus les pieds.

Loved this place! Went a few years back and had a lukewarm experience, went back in 2015 and absolutely loved it! Everybody was dancing in this rustic little club in the basement! To get to this little club, you pass through a lovely old brick tunnel. Every bar is beautiful! Upstairs, the decor is stunning! There is even a huge spine at the entrance of the restaurant upstairs spanning over 20 feet high! Food is great! And the music is great upstairs and downstairs! Sometimes even great international DJs are invited

This is not your typical nightclub, it's a speakeasy, after all. So expectations must be managed, quite the oxymoron to even review a secretively-oriented establishment. They do a good job at respecting their identity- the boy/girl ratio was just right, it wasn't swamped with tourists (the only ones there were us and anyone the hotel that is attached to this place sent them), it's dark and intimate. I heard through the grapevine to check this place out- kind of regret that I did.

Party du nouvel an 2018 entre amis: nous avions la formule souper inclus. Repas et service excellent. À 22h c'est déjà remplie de monde. Il faut accheter 2 bouteilles pour accéder à une table. Les dj's n'ont pas suivis l'évolution du temps musical. Oufff! Aucune festivité particulière pour le décompte ( ballons, lazer, confettis,etc)...ni même un décompte! Déception vue le prix payé.

One server spat in my friends beer and no apology from the server staff, we had literally just sat down, perhaps because my friend was black. Another server yelled at me for not giving her enough tip for 2 shots she served with a frown. Probably the worst service I have ever experienced in Montreal. Outright disgusting, spend your money elsewhere, don't support this kind of behavior

Very cool space. The staff was nice as well. The club part is very intimate and not as large as some of the photos make it seem. Prices were fair. Some of the other reviews say Velvet is not a Speakeasy which is true but I did get the Speakeasy vibe because it was quite hidden and an intimate space. Definitely recommend arriving on the earlier side.

Everyone will have different experiences but at the time that went in 2015,16 and 17 it was definitely one of the most underrated locations for drinks and music across the city. The basement is probably one of my favorite locations on par with Apt. 200. Will definitely check it out during my next visit.

I never been in such a nice place as Velvet!! Even a Montreal native like me can tell you nothing can be compared to it. The place itself is spectacular but the employees are also really attentive to clients' wishes.... Ask for Laurent Dumais or Coco Bolay; thoses guys are just awesome!! Keep going!

I love the velvet! Introduced to me years ago by a college friend. This resturant has great food and cool setting but the club is outstand. Underground literally and in old quarters of montreal. Its candle lit with great mixed crowd and friendly bar staff.

Absolute lack of respect for patrons. If you’re not bff with the owners (Mark and his 20 friends) don’t expect to get in. We stood outside first while they let tons of people in.

Ambiance joyeuse et festive, le personnel est chaleureux. Boisson un peu cher mais le lieu en vaut le détour. L’Atmosphère mystérieuse, avec bougies et lumières tamisées, donne un ton mystique comme dans des catacombes.

La musique était vraiment bonne, la bière démesurément chère, pas de choix et service médiocre. Faut pas être clostrophobe, c'est dans une cave style voûtes. Ça prendra un dj excellent pour m'y prendre à y retourner..

Marco toujours au top Ambiance underground qui fait le charme de l’endroit, très bonne musique.

Bonne ambiance. Drink de mauvaise qualité et beaucoup trop cher. Petit verre, trop de glace, pas de compteurs d'once alors bonne chance pour trouver l'achool dans votre cocktail.

Reserved on the website and never got a confirmation for Friday. Talked to them about it on Instagram and they said that they will see what can they never replied again

Very good club, know it since 2012. Stuff is always very welcoming, and will take care of you if needed. Those who complain- just cannot have fun partying

Horrid staff, disorganized and far from world class this so called night club has rubbish door staff their behavior would last 10 seconds NYC or London. Avoid Velvet .

A transformative walk through a dark catacombic subterrrainian walkway brings you to the dark side. Really nice beats. Good drinks. The most beautiful if Montreal.

They changed the orice of the drink like Same thing can cost 6 -7 or 8$ at the same night. Pay attention when you go to pay they also put automatically 25% tips.

Fun experience in a unique club with a relaxed dance club environment downstairs and classy bar feel upstairs. I highly recommend and would go back again.

Coat check is only enforced on women wearing small coats but men wearing sports jackets are permitted. Great step towards equality..,
