Uptown? More like Rundowntown. Most Depressing Shopping Centre ever. They have chased their anchor tenant out of the building and have basically left this once iconic place to rot away and become run down. There isn't really much to do here, about 3 quarters of the centre is just completely vacant, the food court is so filthy, the lifts are always out of order, the toilets never have soap and the staff were rude. Not to mention the Bus station has very poor signage & the ceiling leaks when it rains. The place also lacks a lot of natural sunlight and is very dimmly lit. It really has definitely seen better days and really needs some attention. The place is neglect and has fallen into disrepair. Not even the colourful advertising could convince me that this was really the top of the mall. And everything is ridiculously expensive & overpriced. The place sucks that much that I literally have no hope in its future.

Sad to hear this place is closing. I shopped here a lot and often. I would like to give one star to the majority of your staff in the sales department. They've never been helpful. Especially that lady on the photo, that day I was buying Estee lauder about 3 customers waiting to be attended. We couldn't find anyone to attend to us. I asked that lady, and when i asked her for help, her response was no.! As you can in her body language, she is just busy having a social chat with her fellow workmate, and she getting paid for having a social conversation. So, an hour later, I returned and again I've had the same experience. THE PREVIOUS WEEK I WAS BUYING A HANDBAG AND SAME, LOOKING FOR AVAILABLE COUNTER WHEN I ASKED TO ONE OF THE SALES, HER RESPONSE WAS..SORRY, I CAN'T HELP YOU I WORK FOR OROTON I suggested that when you re-open the store.. somewhere, I hope you will hire a salesperson with a good attitude.

Ah good old Myer Centre, the protagonist of Queen Street Mall. I can always rely on the bus level bathroom being open even when it's midnight and they've closed the upper floors... The Myer Centre is not new for sure, but does well enough to hide its age. The size and open design is pleasant and is something noticeably missing from the other five QSM shopping centres (except Queens Plaza, which is just extra). The retail shops on the upper floors, while somewhat hidden, should not be overlooked for their variety. It's cool that the bus station is integrated, but it can be frustrating to figure out how to get from one platform to another. The design is confusing for people who are used to the common bus stations where inbound and outbound have their respective platforms on opposite sides.

This is a review for the abysmal Carvery (The Carvery/Diane's?) located in the Food Court, the one with the Noodle Bar on its left. Anyway, I'd like to know what has happened to the good ol'-fashioned Australian Carvery? I asked for a BIG Potato Scallop, he gave me a little potato scallop, I asked for Salt & Vinegar on it and he sprinkled a measly amount of Salt on it, no vinegar....The pale lad that works there needs a holiday I reckon... Geez...let's put a little oomph back into Lunch Service please.... $2 for a slice of Potato, dipped in batter then deep fried.. it really is the end of times... Uptown? hm... feels more like Downtown...sorry not very original pun but you get the idea... #NotHappyJAN...

Had the misfortune to need to use the toilets on the lower level near Target and the food court. Saw a cleaner come out of a cubicle so thought great that will be nice and clean, but no all the cleaner had done was sweep the floor by about 20% I asked if he was going to clean the rest and I was told it was already cleaned. Thee was dirty tissues on the floor and urine on the floor and the toilet seat the place was filthy. While we can not blame the cleaners for other peoples dirty behaviour I would have thought being a cleaner that is what you put right. Absolutely disgusting toilets and disgusting work ethic by the cleaner

Uptown downtown turn the beat around town.. Such a skeleton of what it used to be. Myer, Go Vita forced out due to rents. Greedy place. You lost my business. Never been as good as when Tops held residency-a shell of it's former glory. Management doing something seriously wrong and the shops will feel it now foot traffic will drop off. Fatal mistakes. So unappealing now and very disappointing. Always was and will always be Myer Centre in the hearts of true Brisbaner's. To force it out after some 35 years is inconceivable (valid is the minds of money hungry developers). It's best days are no more.

  • Thomas

Dated, dark and sad. It's an old centre that is in serious need of a revamp. You've renamed yourself Uptown but at the moment the name just doesn't fit the bill. Queens Plaza with DJs and its luxury brands fits the name so much better. The only major draw card now is the food court, as you head up the escalators you find less and less people shopping about and with no major anchor, there is no real reason to go here. Get Target out of the basement and into some of the space left behind by Myer. Add a Kmart in the old space left by Myer also (there isn't one for miles in either direction).

  • Kimberly Tokome-Maua

Convenient and right in the heart of the CBD. The shops aren't that great though, it doesn't offer that variety and traffic that other shopping centres have. I've lived in Brisbane 7 years now and I've only walked through there to either drop someone at the bus stop or grab something at Coles. I feel like even Queen Street mall in general offers a more fun shopping experience than this shopping centre. It's got a whole floor (2 actually) dedicated to food and another to games and I think that gives it a good family/social entertainment place.

We have been visiting the Myer Centre since it had a mini amusement park on the top level called Tops. My wife could grab an hour or two of shopping while I wrangled the 4 anklebiters around the rides. Tops is long gone, but the shopping centre is still a regular stopping place when we are staying in the city. Relatively pleasant surroundings (it is a shopping centre after all) with a good number of places to sit down for a break. Most importantly, of course, is the extensive list of vendors to choose from.

  • video23 T

What a dump of a centre. This place has gone from bad to worse. Food is over priced & small portions just looking to catch the tourists & Myer itself is so under staffed you feel like the shop is empty. Every month there is less & less items on the shelves. One the weekend you couldn't even get to a floor as the escalator was broken & the lift had that floor locked out. Its days are long ov er & it needs a new owner & a lot of new tenants. Its become a haven for bogans & homeless

  • Ben Dundon

I feel like I'm the only one in these reviews who actually likes the older aesthetic of the Myer centre. The truth of the matter is that I've never once had an issue with the Myer centre, and find it to be a great place to go both for incredibly specific shopping trips and just general "hang outs" - if the centre were to be closed as some of the more negative reviews suggest, or remodelled in a way which made it lose its unique character, it would be a true shame.

  • Chris Bienvenu

Need to provide a bit more guidance for "afterhours" access, or 7:30pm. most of the signage says to access bus platform 3b via elevators 8&9 or level E, but that doesn't work. You have to access it via lifts 6&7 by exciting the building and walking around and reentering the building. And don't go thinking platform 3b is on level 3 you clown. I think whoever designed access to this building afterhours went on to start the escape room franchises.

  • Pico Ukkonen

This is one of the places I go most often. Most of them are for watching movies. This large shopping mall has everything you need. You can stay inside for a day. A variety of food and beverage outlets are available to choose from in a variety of different country restaurants. There is a video game city and a cinema on the top floor. A perfect place. The ground floor is an urban transportation hub extending in all directions. Very convenient.

I have lived in Brisbane city for over 2 decades snd Myers in the city is my go to store. As the store was closing end of July went there to have a look, just want to say I had such great service from the lovely and kind Linda in the linen ( pillows and doonas) department and Chathuri, such a sweet young lady. Purchased feather pillows and mattress protector. Very glad to hear they will be transferred to other stores. Thank you

  • Barbara Edwards

Recently, we have a problem starting the car and it had to be left overnight in the carpark with the possibility of being towed the following day. We explained the situation to the Myer Centre Customer Service ladies (Tahlia and Andrea). They were so helpful and understanding. On our behalf they contacted the centre parking and sorted some problems out for us. We appreciated their friendly assistance immensely. Thank you.

  • Eric Lam

The Myer centre has been a long standing icon of Brisbane/The Queen St Mall … but it’s definitely seen better days. There’s soo many empty shops, a randomised collective of styles (to put it politely) - as there’s no overall theme or branding to the centre any more. Hopefully one day its investors will do more than just ‘keep the lights on’ and overhaul it to make it a shiny icon once again

  • Ashley Fleur

Great variety of shops with accessibility for everyone. Food court spans over two levels with coffee shops throughout the centre too. Easy to access via public transport and generous parking (really reasonable parking fees too). Always clean and tidy inside. There always seems to be at least one escalator out of order, but there's always plenty of other ways to move around the centre.

  • Brayden McConnell

Good size shopping centre, with plenty of well-known shops and novelty stores that give it more of a contemporary vibe. Very nice place to go when looking for clothes, electronics and basically anything else you would want, all right in the heart of the city. Good eateries also help, with large amounts of fast food and restaurant style food chains to suit anyone’s needs.

  • Naveen Bachra

My mum was treated very rudely by one of the ladies in the underwear section. She brought bras for herself and i and at the checkout the lady said the smaller size would be a stretch for her. My mum came back to me with tears in her eyes as she struggles with body image. It is unacceptable to make comments about customers body and the sizing that they are buying.

  • Jordan Quirke

Some great stores here. Its a shame the centre is so poorly looked after. The bathrooms are always filthy, most toilets barely pass as working, dont have enough for the amount of people using them. It is always hot in the centre. The layout is a maze, parking is daylight robbery. No drop off zones, smoking areas and not enough seating.

  • Debbie Harvey

A very convenient place to shop if you are shopping for varieties under one roof. Some of your favourite shops are here but recently I could not find the shop Rivers. It seems to be magically disappeared. The food court is great. And the fact that there is a taxi rank outside is perfect for big shoppers who need to take the taxi home.

  • Penny F

I really enjoy going to Myer. The staff are helpful and the sales worth going to Don't think much of the food hall but when the sales are on the reductions are excellent on good quality brands of clothing. It really is enjoyable and the prices are more reasonable than David Jones. If you want clothing for a special event go to Myer

  • Rachael Allan

Good centre with lots of food options, bars & cafes. Good selection of stores and always improving infrastructure. Elevators, wheelchair accessible, plenty of toilets & always pretty clean. Myer is fantastic, so much more selection than the Garden City or Carindale stores. Staff are great. Cinemas at the top. Bus station on bottom.

  • Richard Shanks

Located in the CBD with muliple entry/exits including Queen St Mall, it's a Huge exciting multi-level shopping complex. You need a good week (few hrs a day) including several movies at the Cinemas to enjoy the whole experience. Shop til ya drop in a good way is definitely possible here. The food options are amazing also. :)

  • Karan Shetty

Rude staff, didn't let us use the fitting room before the store closes at 6. I'm here at 5.45. Said the fitting room is closed. Very unprofessional, definitely lacks customer service and just wants to go home before their shift ends. Institutional failure and mismanagement. The staff was not even wearing their staff badge.

  • Lily Truong

5 star in everything but the only let down was parking. It is getting more and more expensive. I would've given it 5 stars. The service is great. The atmosphere was clean. I went to 7 cup and loved it. Also went to other shops and it was amazing. Lots of variety compared to other stores. Even bought a champion jumper.

  • Nina Stallmann

The Myer Centre holds nostalgic memories for me as a kid. Anyone else remember the play space and roller coaster up the very top? The fairy shop was the bomb. Sadly, all gone now but this mall still has amazing variety of stores and food venues. Definitely worth a browse if you find yourself in the city.

  • Vaibhav Shende

All the best retail stores are here. Best quality clothes and for every taste and budget. The best thing about the Myer Centre is the Events Cinema. The best experience I had watching a movie here. The seats are very comfortable and theatre is top of the class. A bit expensive but it's worth the money.

  • David Judge

I worked in the Myer centre in 1996 for a few years. Oh how it has changed, yet stayed the same. In 1998 there was a roller coaster on the top floor. 24 years on Myer is still the feature and the stores in the centre are the back bone. We visit every time we stay in Brisbane at least 2 times a month.

  • Peter Meaby

Found it old and pockey. There was no directory to say where a curtain shop was and at night time had to try and navigate to the top floor to go to cinema. Food hall was not that great as tables were dirty and you sat in a rotunda with people walking past you while trying to have a conversation.

  • Edgar Cortes

The justice of the peace people attending are very rude. Very lousy customer service. I've been there many times and it's always the same attitude. Last time, the lady (Rosemary Hellen Best), when she was to return the documents, she threw them to us. Very disrespectful and unpleasant people.

  • Dio Amorim

Nice place, usually crowded specially close to lunch times. It has everything you might need. The Coles in there is quite small so if you are looking to so house/groceries shopping with a lot of product variety this is not your place. Food court as a good range of options available.

  • Intan G.

Good shopping centre very next to Ibis Styles Brisbane, our hotel. We went there everyday during our stay in Brisbane for shopping (fortunately, most stores i was looking for like Country Road, Supre and Coles, also located there) and eating (Soul Origin was awesome). What a luck!

  • Alexandre Goffi

I liked a lot the place! The cinema, the area to play, etc. But i didn't like that much to only be able to by tickets for the cinema online. I mean, it is modern, but sometimes it is good to have some staff there were you can ask for the tickets, seats, etc. But in all, i liked :)

  • Brandon Pope

Half the shops were closes , it was near lunchtine walked though this old timely section both floors everything was closed in this sectiob even that basement store dnt open a building if bo ones home , thats time out of my vacation gone i could have literally spent!!! Elswhere

  • Faheem Davids

Excellent shopping experience. Great staff .Bought perfume, got a discount and a free duffel . Had a browse in the pants section. The young man serving was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, advised me on a parfum ( Invictus legend.) Good advice I love it. Thanks Myers …

  • vishal patel

Right in the city center, great location and close by public transportation. Getting a carpark space is easy, but it can get tricky to get out of the parking lot. It took me some time to figure out the exit. You can book online or get tickets when entering the car park.

  • Jacqueline Akerman

I love the cinemas with discounts for students and the arcade next to the cinemas. The food court has plenty of options, and there there is also a Target and Coles. What I do not like is the pricey car park, but I guess that's normal in the city.

  • Antonino Iannella

A variety of stores serving many purposes. The information desk lady was very informed of the available stores and facilities. The building was the old Myer centre. It still hosts Coles and Target. A reasonable food court is on the ground floor.

  • Elliot Elcock

Uptown Shopping in Brisbane is a symphony of upscale boutiques, delectable eateries, and vibrant energy. During my last visit, I was particularly captivated by a gourmet restaurant nestled amidst the shops. The Truffle Risotto I ordered was

  • Vicky Zahnow

Fabulous Myers, I love how this store is presented so clean and inviting, the layout is great! Love how each floor evokes a surprise of what's available. Parking is fantastic too, can take you right into the store if you grab the right lift!

  • Garry Innes

Always a great shopping experience with plenty of different retailers to choose from. We had lunch at the Beach House which was pretty good but the line up for the female toilets around the Food Court put a dampener on giving it a 5 star.

  • Xavier Davis

Great complex a huge range of options great value for your money boutique shops super market Event Cinemas and the food courts which there are two of care for all types of tastes and connected to the Queen St Mall so very good location.

  • Haiyan Zhang

Disgusting tiny toilets! It often has a long queue for female toilets. Today I found the toilet I went to did not flush/had tiny bit of water coming out. The facility is as old as dinosaurs! It needs upgrade!!! It’s so frustrating!!!

  • Meredith Black

You need to do something about your air conditioning. It is disgustingly hot in this centre and its losing you customers. I was shopping in Daiso this morning and the poor girls working are dripping with sweat and I noticed several

  • Sharon Chang

Here have more choices at the food court. The sitting area is comfortable with the natural light and have big TV. Also have cinema on the three floor and the place for kids or big kids play. Small shopping center but good enough.

  • Kiwi Kalola

Great shopping centre, large but not overwhelmingly so. Has a fantastic shop for plus sized ladies - called My Size, wonderful helpful staff who will see you right. Plenty of shops and eating places and in a convenient location.

  • Savita Chadhokar

This place is one stop for shoppers to have it all, Myers has a wide range of brands in all categories from local brands of Australia to all the luxury big brands. So it has something for everyone. Great deals and good staff.

  • Ben Dalla Lana

Looking very dated and the upper levels are almost always dead. Sad to see a shopping centre in the heart of the city with so many empty or failing businesses. Having said that, the food court is quite good and always busy.

  • Tahnee Bell

Every time I've been here the drink is always perfect & so delicious. The service is amazing & all the workers are so nice, especially the manager who loves to chat & connect with the customers. 10/10 would recommend.

  • Laurie Holiday

Lovely place to shop or eat on the nearby restaurant. Very crowdy on weekend but a place that you can enjoy with friends and go shopping. Stalls are great here in Uptown and has wonderful people enjoying their day!!

  • Sonar Mandal

Been here last year and got a chance to dropby here again just to buy some stuffs, I get curious on one of the resto and tried it out too. The vibe are great and the shopping stalls are great. Great place to shop!

  • Red Gail

Great mall! Food court is brilliant. All the shopkeepers I spoke to were so helpful especially the lady in the Dangerfield store. Cinema at the top. Good amount of comfortable seats. Great selection of everything!

  • Georgia Kelliher

This place was SO fun to go to for the first time. A HUUUGE shopping space with lots to see and do. Great place to hang out with a friend and buy stuff. Here's a cool clothing item I liked from the Myer store <3

  • Gwon Riana

One of my favorite shopping centre I visited the Dior shop Kindily staff and highly customer service Staff also have professional knowledge about their products so I was good I'll come back soon:)

  • Pia Merletti

This place is nice to look at what clothes, shoes & other products they have available. I like their shoes, when they are on sale, have things you buy from there can be expensive, but probably good quality

  • Harris Tang

Sad, to see Myer Centre being closed down I’ve been shopping here for more than 10 years and it was my main shop I would go usually and a-lot of memories of this place sad to see Myer go after 35 years.

  • WeKnowYoureThere

Apart from being treated like a second class citizen by the centre management staff, I've thoroughly enjoyed paying an exorbitant amount of rent over the past 12 years for my small independent business

  • Sue Williams

Michelle in YSL perfume desk is wonderful. I purchased Opium several weeks ago, she gave me some samples to try and we went back for aftershave - such a wonderful person to deal with - we will be back

  • Charmaine Earnshaw

Definitely not as busy as in its heyday. Great selection of shops and food still but you will see many of those same shops a few blocks away because the myer centre has lost so many customers

  • Alex Dunne

Bit of a maze and the layout of the shops too is a bit odd, but more so the place needs a big old renovation, it's very basic and enclosed with minor upgrades here and there.

  • Michelle Ross

Lifts dont go up to upper levels as do at Indooroopilly shoppingtown, no staff to assist when needed. Asked someone in the floor at xmas for directions, stated " not sure".

  • Lyn Teo

A pretty decent mall with loads to see but building is in need of an update. Still worth a visit if you’re in the city. Good selection in the food court and below.

  • Stephen Turner

Great range of items, directions to advise you what is available on each floor at the up escalators. Friendly staff available to help you find what you want.

  • Tim Austin

There are so many smaller shops inside the Myer complex itself. You will need a lot of time to explore them all. The facility was clean and well presented.

  • Glenda Brown

We had dinner at the Beach House Bar and Grill, good food, enjoyed listening to guitarist, singer Nigel Jones who performs there Monday evenings, recommend

  • Rose Bud

Some interesting shops around and stopped at a nice cafe/eatery where they made wonderful chocolate milkshake and croissants with ham and cheese toasted

  • Kerry Carter

This shopping centre has everything.. massive food court.. tonns of shops to visit.. the Myres is the best Myers ive been in so many levels & variety..

  • trevor glass

We go here most Sundays mainly looking for bargains in clothing etc. It does not disappointment. Plenty of places to eat also. Can well recommend.

  • Richard Baker

A great variety of shops to suit all tastes & ages groups. Easy access from surrounding streets. Great place to visit. Might even get a bargain.

  • Priyanka Bajaj

Great place to do all the shopping… from grocery from coles to get formal clothes for office… so many outlets for food, and shops for shopping.

  • Savita Hadimani

Ample eateries and shops to buy dresses etc amd movie centre all in one place but I don't like new boring name 'Uptown' boo for that new name

  • Faith Welk

Massive shopping mall with heaps of options, the lady at rhe help desk is super helpful as well making sure we knew where we were going

  • Nicole Schaer

It's a bit sad here atm, so many empty shops. Movies are good, food court is pretty good but shopping options are not great right now.

  • Joey Humphries

Went Myers and a few other shops. It will be a disaster when Myers closes end July, very disappointing they are leaving city centre.

  • Maria Stanley

The former Myer Centre is now known as Uptown. The small shops are still there, along with various eateries takeaways etc.

  • Leevan Jiang

Attended Wesley Studio's clay sessions and made some interesting figurines. Great environment, lots of food and shops.

  • Chris Crawford

An icon in Brisbane the Myer center is a great place to shop and has an impressive range of food options as well.

  • Daune Flucas

Nice selection of shops and lots of restaurants to choose from the in the area. Excellent place for a few hours.

  • Michele Barnes

Place is very quiet, with Myers gone, and city parking so expensive little incentive to head into the city now

  • Joy Marry Mustapha

Great choice to shops to browse and a delicous range of tasty restaurants. Oh and a donut shop! Wil be back.

  • Paige Maguire

This place is turning into a ghost town with Myer's departure. It is looking like redevelopment is imminent.

  • Gordon Adams

Tons of shops, plenty of food, plenty of customers. Free wifi as long as you're emails not with Bigpond.

  • A KM

Great location, good variety of shops. Maybe need to update the restrooms, look very old and worn out.

  • Alyssa Durrant

Ah such a love hate. Massive centre maybe a little too big.. most the stores are bigger than my whole

  • Joel iii
