We came here for dinner on a Friday night hoping for a good pub meal. Nope, all we got was limp half heated food from an airfyer. Our onion rings were limp and a measly amount that didn't even fill the bucket it came in (see photo). Pork ribs fell off the bone which was great, but tasted and looked boiled. They could have grilled it a little longer and on higher heat. A full rack for $35 is very overpriced compared to what you get for the same dish at nearby restaurants. The burger was also disappointing. The french fries were meh, again under cooked and tasteless. Restaurant prices but not restaurant quality I'm afraid. Perhaps we came on a bad day but they need to rework their menu to accommodate the fact they don't have a proper kitchen with chefs and rework their prices to match.

Nice little watering hole in the middle of Emerald. Although there's not many taps, they always have a great selection of tapped craft beers, mostly local to Melbourne and surrounds. It's a shame the new building design doesn't have a balcony as it has a great aspect on that side, and didn't allow for a better kitchen or keg storage.

Railway dog is without a doubt one of my favourite places to have a beer after knocking off work or to catch up with mates. Staff are some of the friendliest people you'll meet and you can tell the place is run with a lot of care and attention. Kudos to you guys for opening up exactly what Emerald needed. Highly recommend.

I don't understand the popularity of this place to be honest. Like it looks good and all but the food we had there was meh. The pizza looker like it had been thrown around and wasn't very tasty at all and I'm sorry but for 8bucks I would expect more then 7 onion rings... the beer was fine and the view is alright.

Tonight l went to The Railway Dog in Belgrave A lovely little bar with sensational views The entertainment was fantastic Kris McGill She was amazing so talented plays the acoustic guitar so good and her voice is unbelievable Do go and see her if you get the chance you won't be disappointed

Food drink and music were good but the VOLUME is ridiculously loud for such a small space and caused headaches in our whole group. Bring earplugs. The staff should legally be wearing ear protection.

Pizzas are the best ever. Full of fresh ingredients which were plentiful and extremely tasty. In fact I would go as far as to say, one of the best I've ever had. Also, only $15 ar lunchtime. Great value, excellent service, beautiful views and great beer and wine.

Nice to drop in for a beer, not busy but staff friendly and attentive. A few good beers on offer

A bar with a beautiful view of the hills through the large picture window. Snacks are available, we had a delicious pizza with our drinks while listening to the beautiful voice of Jodi Barry. There is a different musician each Sunday afternoon.

Great small bar with variety of local wines, craft beers and live music. Staff are incredible, always friendly, happy to help out and work hard to make it a really nice space. Kransky with the lot is a must try, for the price it's a steal.

Great place to chill.. drink and eat. We've been a couple of times now and the ambience is really special. Mel at the bar is an awesome young lady and the owners take their time to get to know their patrons. Pay this little gem a visit!!

I was most impressed. Loved the food and drinks on offer.Staff very helpful and friendly explaining the history of it's name "The Railway Dog". Very patient with kids as we took our grand children who are not the quietest of kids.

Great little bar, always changing their tap beers, serviceable food menu - to keep you topped up - great local entertainment that are in frequently and friendly staff. Love being local to this joint. Always welcoming.

Great little bar, it has a wide range of beer and wine, also has live local artists performing where a booking is a must.

Chips were like rubber. Nearly went "a over t" on a step in store that you can't see when coming in out of bright light.

Fantastic bar, great staff, with a wide selection of drinks. You’d be foolish to turn down a night at The Railway Dog!
