During my inaugural visit to the Hallam Hotel, I was absolutely enchanted by the exquisitely prepared grilled salmon, elegantly nestled on a velvety bed of mashed potatoes, complemented by a luscious pesto sauce. Although the mashed potatoes didn't quite reach the pinnacle of culinary perfection, the salmon's unparalleled flavor more than compensated, creating an exceptionally delightful dining experience. The Halloween-themed decorations, featuring ghosts, ghouls, witches, and skeletons, added a captivating and whimsical allure to the ambiance. Priced at just $34, this culinary journey was not only delightful but also remarkably affordable. I eagerly anticipate my next visit. Additionally, it's worth noting that the parking situation behind the hotel and down the side lane might be a bit confusing for some patrons.

Sick building syndrome is nothing to do with a building and everything to do with management. This review is nothing to do with the workers and everything to do with management. Just after getting home last night, I developed an issue with my stomach. But this is just the end of the story. Two meals early, two only arrived late after reminding the front of house the order was not complete. Clearly there were issues as the workers looked unhappy. There’s only one reason for this situation, management. This is NOT a bad review on the workers. Management need to get themselves sorted. They need to take a good hard look at themselves and ask why? What are they doing wrong? If the owners or manager needs help, I am happy to guide them at no cost. But for the first time in my life I have come home with a case of food issues.

Visited this place today with a group of 8 for a birthday lunch. Staff pleasant and food was amazing. I ordered the chicken schnitzel and I believe it’s the best schnitzel I have ever had. They batter it in a different way to everywhere else I have been. Another lady in our party had one of the specials on offer and also agreed it was the best that she had eaten in a very long time. We all enjoyed our meals. Prices are very affordable and atmosphere of venue was pretty good too. Will be returning again soon.

The Hallam hotel has seriously deteriorated over the years the food is dreadful there are no pensioner meals and it’s super expensive ,$69 for a steak. The service is generally good in the pokies and there a couple of great staff, they are however treated appallingly by the management often having their shifts reduced never offered permanency and screwed around with their hours it’s sad given they are committed to their employer. Other employees are favoured because family members are the manager. This is often sees them get extra shifts it’s not fair for them. I am a concerned for their well being and welfare.

Chicken parma is perfect! Juicy chicken and full off flavour! Cooked perfectly! The ribs are melt in the mouth, fall off the bone and finger licking sauce! Very happy with the meals! Kids nuggets also nice and ordering from the table through our phone was actually pretty good even though i prefer ordering with humans! :) get in early or make a booking! The Hallam is always full! We went for a family occasion . The food was ok. Really disappointed in the kids meals. When are venues going to serve up some healthy options! Snitzel and chips was just that.. not even a hint of salad or vegetables. Also the Caesar salad came with hard boiled eggs and packet croutons. The calamari topping was beautiful, so was the chicken topping. All up we had an enjoyable time and the meals were OK. Staff were friendly .

Booked a table for 12, easily accommodated with our party having one baby and one with mobility issues. Great place for kids as they have a play area to keep them occupied. Food was delicious, i ordered the fried chicken burger with a salad and it was so tasty i was so satisfied once we were done.

Thank you to all the function and service staff who helped make our birthday party a huge success Our guests expressed how happy they were with the food and the quantity too (we Samoans lol) and of the venue itself. Function managers were fantastic, adjusting to our requests and every last minute changes. Fab and Renae always there to settle the nerves leading up to the event. Great place for a "small" Samoan birthday.

Food was good, not great but not bad either. Always room for improvements. Food was lacking a little in flavour. Had to repeat our order multiple times to the waiter taking our orders. Even the people behind us could hear what we ordered yet the young man taking our order couldn't ‍♀️ Table service was great. Ladies cleared the table quickly and efficiently before Desserts came out which was so helpful.

The service was so slow and the staff spent more time looking at each other instead of just finish serving the person in front of you…. Twice I had to ask them to please fill the glasses of wine up to the mark, not at least 10 mm below the line. Luckily the food was so delicious that I’d definitely go back again.

Traveled over an hour to get to the hotel from truganina. Super nice meal, hugely friendly staff. We had a 2 month old with us and we had no problem heating his bottle. No request was too difficult. Will be back again! Rebooking is a must!
