I was told by a friend of mine that it was a reputable place to bring your car for repair. Boy was he ever mistaken. I have an old car that was working well for several years but finally thing began to break down. The first time I think they treated me fair but as I went back, They began to cheat me and create more problems. They replaced my front end but did not do an alignment. I was struggling to drive home and ended up going to Sears to finish the job. Next, I had a hole in my power steering line. I this was a metal tube with a hole in it. I did not think much about it at the time because I trusted them. How do you get a hole in a metal line? I believe the mechanic did it when he worked on my car the last time. This cost me almost $500 to replace. Next. I had a dash light on and I had to get it fixed for inspection. I got what I thought was a tune up and had my plugs "replaced". It ran incredibly rough right after that and they refused to deal with it. The main mechanic, Muoy, kept giving me absurd reasons for it as if something else just broke right after their work. I eventually sold the car to a friend for a dollar and it turns out they never really did do the tune up. The same old plugs were there and the vacuum hoses had leaks which was the cause of the rough idle. I paid over $400 for not getting a tune up. I believe these guys seem to have a reputation and are always busy with cars but I also believe they create issues to get more work. Prices are low but they also use cheap parts. They had to replace my frontend due to a malfunction but they did not charge me for it. My advice is look around before going or get a second opinion before doing business there. I have never been ripped of for car repairs before coming to Houston.

In the last 20 years, I had to take many cars to many different places, weather it would be for simple oil changes, extensive body repairs, or major damages to my cars. I could list about 40 different businesses, since I have moved around during the last 20 years, but every place I went to has one common theme: They all try to rip me off in one way or another. What is even worse: they all think we customers are stupid. I've only come across 2 places that are honest and trustworthy. Muoi's Texas Auto Repair Shop is one of them. Price and quality of work are always excellent here, as they are a direct product of the owner's brutal honesty. There is only one downside: People know quality, when they see it. Therefore, Muoi's shop is always packed, and he's got to do 10 things at the same time. Sometimes it's quite hard to even talk to him for a few minutes.

Do not take your car here for any major repairs. I believe their good reviews mainly come from the pocket friendly prices and their PR, however, if you want great mechanical services go elsewhere. I took my Nissan Sentra for a repair and the man called me four days later saying the car was good to go. He apparently had fixed everything and I just needed a new battery cause mine was weak. I paid him and was driving back home but three minutes away from his shop the car started shaking wildly. My car broke down and couldn't start. I confronted him about it and all of a sudden he has some other diagnosis when he previously said the car was good. I left him the car keys to fix my car cause it was worse than when I brought it in. Don't go here just based off reviews, that's what I did. I'll be in touch with a lawyer

Came on 7.20.21 to replace my cracked windshield. Before arrival i called from the Woodlands to get the quote. The guys name is Kevin and he was real polite and curtious over the phone. I got to the shop in midtown 30 minutes later and called. Well Kevin was already heading back with my new windshield!! I mean he was on it the instant we hung up the phone. The price was only $245 and he had it done way ahead of time. Then he came in with my invoice and was very friendly and polite. I live close and glad i found this place! My experience was 5 stars in service. The waiting lobby can use a make over. They need to hire somebody to keep the place neat. But good on the wallet and polite fast service!

Best place in town! I've been there with all my vehicles for 5 years now, and I have never experienced better and more honest auto work in this city. Muoi has always found the problem and fixed it for much less than I expected based on my experience with other car repair shops in Houston. My best experience was when there were loud noises coming from the front while driving. I took it there in the morning before work, and he realized some screws had fallen out from the engine room flooring, and he fixed that right away for $10. Other mechanics would even raise a screwdriver for that. Had both car repair and body work done with great results.

The weirdest auto shop that I've ever visited. It's a combination of a house, a chiropractic, and an auto shop. The front door will greet you with urine smell. There's no front desk. You're lucky if they notice you. They allow customers to walk in and out the office through the working area which is unsafe. The office is very unorganized. There's a TV playing annoying Asian commercials all day long. They don't really have a system. The guy carries a notebook where he hand-writes customers' information. They don't ask for your permission in writing to work on your car.

I do not appreciate workers having taken so long to tell me that the my repair is too big for the shop to handle. Someone should have called ME; NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. What a sorry business. UPDATE: Texas Auto Repair and Body assigned my car to the person who speaks the least amount of English. He told me that the management suspected a blown head gasket, and proceeded to hold my car for 4 days. Later on, Mobile Auto Repair on Hillcroft fixed my car for $329 dollars... Ladies, don't get toyed with at body shops.

I have to give them five stars hands down they're the only automotive shop I will take my car to they know what they're doing and if I have any problems with my car after they've done the work on the car they sent a tow truck to pick up my car are repaired it for me again I love Richard he did the work on my car I love texas auto repair & body shop I do have a foreign car they do awesome work I will recommend anyone checking out this automotive shop thank you guys again

I had a broken bumper so i went to this shop and asked him if he can fix he said yes it will take 3 days , after 2 weaks i went to get my car back there was no bumper at all in those 2 weaks that was supposed to be finished in 3 days he didnt do anything he just ruined my car even more. I don't recommend anyone to go to this shop Trust this review and find another shop dont even think about this bad shop.

I went for my state inspection and when given the results of fail they couldn't give me an answer as to what caused it to come up as fail, none of my engine lights are on but they claimed "It could be my catalyic converter" and "I don't know" and just told me to drive around for a week and bring it back. When I asked if it says fail again what can I do, the answer was still they don't know whats wrong.

Absolutely do not do business here, way overpriced. tried to take of advantage of my wife. She had a flat, they wanted $95 for a 185/55r15 tire and $50 to mount and balance it. GTFOH!!! if you're car happens to die in thier parking lot, do yourself a favor and have it towed elsewhere. complete rip off artist. as a side story, wife was on her way home from Chemo. they were the opposite of helpful.

My car got stalled from flood water. I was very worried I did major damage and also worried that maybe there wasn't but that some mechanic would try to scam me and convince me otherwise. I took it to Texas Auto Repair. I tried to get an estimate first but had a little trouble communicating, so just hoped for the best. I come pick it up, he tells me "free of charge". Awesome! Will be coming back.

I have had 3 cars serviced here in the last 5 years. Quality of service and price is always great. They are always very busy working on vehicles, so don't worry if nobody answers the phone right away. Currently, they are NOT permanently closed. I will continue to have my vehicles serviced there in the future.

They quote you heavy price , as soon as you enter the Bodyshop you will wait inside and the guy calls you over to his monitor and open a screenshot , shows you quote . The quote will be very high than dealers and they insist you to replace the part . Ask for a price 4 times less than what they quote you .

I had been going to this place for over 20 years. The owner Mr. Muoi is great. But since this past year the service done by his mechanics has become unsatisfactory. I tried to get him to hire my husband who is a certified mechanic but I guess who only hire vietnamese. Oh well his loss.

I’ve gotten to Houston couple weeks ago had problem with starter. Repaired fast that I even picked up evening route. Approved by Xfinity (COMCAST)!. Fast, Good Prices! Hard workers out there, like me on field! Appreciate Moue and Ai who helped me with my car. Good bless you guys!

Hands down the best auto shop in the midtown area. I will only be taking my cars to Moui from now on. Fast, Cheap, Quality service. All of the employees are kind and helpful always smiling and keeping a good environment. The best auto shop around.

Muoi was great and has owned the business for 40 years. Didn't wait long at all and my car is running great. Not to mention the lowest price around Midtown and they order the parts for you. Will be back again for all of my future repairs!

Service is very good with a good price and honest about what’s needed to be fixed or not or should buy a new car! Also he’s helping people that have problems with ankles, shoulders, and etc.He straitened my ankle up for free!

It's great to have a skilled mechanic you trust. Muoi is that guy. I love my red 2010 Taurus SHO. I don't trust anyone to work on it but Muoi. His English is not perfect. But his service is. This guy is honest and skilled.

From oil changes & engine stuff (got an A/C compressor today) to bodywork, I've trusted this shop for years. Comfy couches & plenty of room in the waiting room. Masks are encouraged with signage & staff wearing them.

Stopped by for a quote. They acted as if I didn't exist. Once I spoke to someone. They told me to come back at 3. I guess when your making money you can treat people as if there not important to your business.

Very positive, friendly and courteous personnel. Did not have to wait, they promptly changed my oil and oil filter when I did not even have an appointment. I was in and out in less than thirty minutes.

The work was done. Mui is a great guy. Took very long to get my car done and there was a issue after. Mui resolved quickly and after hours. I really felt like he cared.

Service was quick. (A/C diagnostics) Service my truck and got it running. Also laid out the game plan if there was a leak present, which was nice. Highly suggest.

AVOID AT ALL COST. They did an unnecessary repair on my car, screwed up the unnecessary repair, and then took MONTHS to fix the mistake.

My family has been taking our cars to Muoi and his mechanics for lots of years. They are always fair with prices and very knowledgable.

Small jobs they can handle and they will work with you on the price. However, DO NOT TAKE YOU CAR TO THEM FOR MAJOR REPAIR ISSUES!
