Housed in a Grade II listed building the the library has an extensive range of books especially the art section and reserve stock. The building itself is a landmark modernist building which architecture students from around the world visit. Worthy of note are the arts + crafts influenced touches within the interior such as the navigational scale and subtle range of materials. At a time when libraries are closing it's wonderful to see this one so well used, the service is complemented by staff who are knowledgable and happy to help.

Worst childrens library. The carpets are filthy and the staff are rude and two faced. When you go there for the first time you don't know that buggies have to stay outside but instead of the staff telling you. They turn their back to you, start talking about you to another parent and go get security to come and tell you. It's disgusting behaviour. If they have no people skills they shouldn't be working in the library full stop. Especially not the children's library

Definitely one of the better libraries in North London, but only because of its size and cafe. It's very uninspiring - dirty white walls, dirty grey carpet, ugly furniture, and the wifi is not great. It's usable but very slow. There are also a lot of work stations that don't have plug sockets, so it's not always great for laptop work. Shame because if they updated the interior it would be one of the best libraries in the city for sure.

The best place to be, for me. The Library is open even on Saturdays. It has so many collections, psychology, fantasy, sciences, languages. There is an amazing little coffeshop upstairs, with very friendly staff and mmmmm! Such coffe and treats! The library is big, it offers plenty of space for study or socializing. Tge outdoors are green and fun. A great place where i spend a lot of my time!

A great place for students to study. Would be surprised if you couldn't find a free desk to work at as they are scattered everywhere. Wi-Fi is plenty fast. Had to take off a star as there is a young kids section on the ground floor and it is very noisy with crying kids and they can be heard from all parts of the library so bring earphones/earplugs.

A bolshy horrowshow biblio and droogish delight. A dystopian Brutalist epiphany resembling a beached behemoth skeleton. This intimidating and forbidding exterior, set in an attractive and landscaped complex, belies a substantial and fit-for-purpose interior and up-to-date public resource. It may be clockwork here but it's not all orange.

Liberian Rita is very helpful, polite and pleasant but in contrast some of the others such as Maria are very rude, obnoxious and grumpy and refuse to help with finding books and CDs and other enquiries. They need more training but they should really employ younger and more cheerful people when interviewing applicants.

designed by sir Denise lasden who I believe won an award for the building, it's design makes excellent use of natural sunlight which makes it pleasant to be in for as long as one chooses to remain in it. it also boasts a comprehensive variety of knowledge in both conventional & digital form. an enjoyable day spent.

Coffee Shop is excellent! Serving a fresh variety of gourmet healthy sandwiches and moroccan food and drinks. Can sit overlooking the swimming pool and gym. Also library facilities are excellent as far as council libraries go. Very good and modern library. Maybe only second to the British library

  • Troy Lewis

Very friendly staff of all ages . Great computer Wifi free or hire if you dont have a card , a Cafe and nice surroundings with a sports centre next door and a small park with cafes. Very nice in summer and its on my doorstep:) A short walk from Swiss Cottage Station (Jubilee Line)

Employees in reception in the middle of the library are talking loudly distracting visitors from studying and reading. Those working in the library should be the most considerate instead of being the loudest. Otherwise, the library would be perfect for many reasons.

They need to desperately change the toilet cleaning schedule or something. This is a public toilet so it should be cleaned more frequently as its used homeless people. Be more like willesden green library and have an hourly clean so more people feel safe to use it.

- different from when I was last there - lots of empty spaces - cafe closed - few people around - new photocopiers : very friendly and helpful assistant - lots of useful info on using computers - can use for up to 2 hours for free - I'll be going back soon ! Anne

Love this place. Staff not always helpful, it totally depends on who is at the front desk. Very hit and miss regarding staff knowledge about the services IT, printing, and local services advertised in the library. Notwithstanding, this is a fantastic library.

Amazing for a liabary to study in. Lots of books on philosophy and almost everything. The enviroment is really calm and relaxing. Many diffrent places to sit and work. I highly recomend this liabary to anyone of any age. Also beautiful mini gallery!

  • Yousef Bassa

What a great place! I was having difficulty scanning numerous documents into one file - two members of staff spent nearly an hour helping me work out how to do this. So helpful :). I find I always learn something new each time I visit this library.

Spacious, well-lit library. I often come here to study and do my work. It has got a very good collection of books, films and music. The cafe attached to the library is amazing for meet-ups. It is free from unwanted noice and has a cosy environment.

  • T Unit

I was very pleased with the minimal level of noise, which is scarcely obtainable in my local area. I wish I could say the same about the toilets however, as I didn't feel comfortable enough to use them. Cleanliness everywhere else was fine.

Great library. Not only a really good selection of books, but also a fantastic place if you want to study or work. If you don't need a printer and don't have any calls to take, this library is just as good as many paid co-working spaces.

A cathedral for books, bathed in light AND enlightenment.... not only a true modernist delight, aesthetically speaking, but a great all round inner city library too. Wow. Who would want to cut this, you'd be mad!

  • Nathan Maingard

Beautiful open spaces, lovely couches for letting hours slip by from while exploring imaginary worlds. Silent and comforting. The simplest check-out and check-in system I have ever seen. I'm slightly in love.

  • Nadia Benidine

When I am at this library I feel very happpy , the number and the variey of books always helps me find what I am looking for.In addition to to the friendly and helpful staff , this library is a jem.

  • Serena Reidy

Good library for reading or studying. Wifi is decent - can be a bit slow, but doesn't disconnect all the time like my wifi at home! Hopefully the cafe will open soon and there'll be more toilets!

  • Graeme G

The building itself is really quite magnificent. The library is nice and quiet with a good selection. It has quite a big children’s area as well as occasional art exhibits, fashion sales, etc.

  • Parisa Mahmud

Nice library but a lot of people who work at the reception are very rude, aggressive, incompetent, and unhelpful I am afraid. They need proper training.

  • Ming Lew

On Camden library Open on sunday! Biggest library in Camden, huge variety of book, a little bit hard to find books, but a large selection to pick from.

  • Sabri Mazloum

very professional people working in Camden libraries so are Westminster Chelsea and Kensington, going back to Surrey some years ago, some fab people.

  • Argy Kofidou

What a lovely open space. The little ones love playing with the water for hours. Just pack a change of clothes. The library is fantastic as well.

  • Melvyn Maltz

Amazing, hadn't been there for about 10 years, friendly and helpful staff, renewed my membership in 3 minutes. Found what I was looking for.

  • Marlena Bontas

By far the most helpful library and nice people. They made a library card for me immediately and let me borrow books without any hassle.

  • Asim Munshi

Cleanliness & availability of toilets could be better... other than that a fantastic library; lots of space, fast WiFi & helpful staff

  • Michel Mucci

A great resource sadly situated by one of the busiest roads in NW London exposing its visitors to toxic air.

Compact & neat surroundings to celebrate the Durga Puja festival & cultural event. Parking can be a problem.

  • Eagles

The staff on the entrance door are the rudest staff I’ve come across. Avoid this place like the plague.

Great to meet people and write or just quietly read as opposed to looking at the screen all evening.

An excellent library, also with education courses, computer access, childcare groups etc.
