"Very nice and clean with all sorts of activities happening there"
The worse library i been to in the whole entire world. Ive been living in enfield for 4 years and ive had problems with them on two occasions. 1st occasion was with returning a dvd i had while i was pregnant and still in uni, i did forget to bring it back on the due date but when i returned it a few weeks later they charges me about £40-50 charge which i explained to them my situation they were rude and demanded that i had to pay it like they feel no remorse for the public. Today i came in to use the computer but as i came to the front to book pc they said i could login without booking so in the process of looking for my login details they already booked it for some one else and asked me to move. the representative was rude as i was mad i had to move otherwise i would have booked a computer so i reported her to the manager and she was just as rude and make excuses for there procedures. Ive lived in Africa america London and Thailand, never experience such rudeness and bad customer service in a place where people are ssuppose to be quite read study etc. worse library ever. Will never come here again or recommend library.
If you want to do work comfortably and without distractions I suggest that you do it at home. After 3 the library gets filled up with school kids who just use the place to hang around and chat loudly because they have nothing else to do. Staff is the worst and do nothing about the noise. When I put my headphones on the staff tell me to lower down the noise yet do nothing about the distracting behaviour of school children (perhaps out of fear of being accused of racism or avoiding confrontation from rambunctious kids?) There are never enough seats, it's ALWAYS busy with people looking for jobs, elderly and most annoyingly school kids. SO you sit on the floor and the staff tell you that you can't sit there. Stay away from the fat gentleman with white hair (he sits on the upstairs desk) - he's lost it in the head and will harass you for no reason (I don't know who actually gave him a job but there you go)
Do NOT go to this library there is no space to sit down unless you are there at the exact time it opens! I walked around the library for an HOUR to try to get a space to sit but none of the spaces become available EVER. The staff are also rude and there is a whole part of the library that is closed off even though people NEED space to sit down. The librarians said it has been closed down due to people making a mess there but that is just ridiculous to judge everyone after actions of few individuals!! You cannot even bring chair upstairs to sit down even if you would return them back and got permission to take it from the cafe with is OVERPRICED because even though the librarians get paid for just sitting down and shouting at people they can't do as little as actually be helpful and make this library work. It is a dysfunctional library. Do NOT recommend it to anyone.
This is a great library with staff who try to help as much as they can. A wide variety of stock and you can order items from with the London Libraries Consortium if not available if Enfield. It strikes me that many of the complaints here are a case of individuals not being able to get what they want. Of course it's going to be busy due to its location and libraries aren't the havens of peace they once were, they serve a wider function in the community these days. It may seem petty when the staff try to keep order but it's part of a plan to avoid the problems of previous years when things got really out of hand. Just don't take it personally.
Very nice and clean with all sorts of activities happening there. Sometimes they have Sumo evenings, sometimes Go mornings and sometimes harakiri demonstrations for beginners. They never had training for intermediate or advanced harakiri practitioners as nobody got that far, all of them tend to end their career at the beginner level. But, overall a very nice experience if you stick with only the Go evenings. And especially if you don't take this information as true just because Google is asking me for reviews...
I love this library and so does my toddler. They have a huge selection of books and we have found many favourites here. They get us involved with everything that is going on by changing the displays and books to go with them. The toddler class on a Friday is helping my LO interact, share and learn. It is by far one of our faourite places to be. The staff have received some bad reviews which nearly put me off but I must say they have been nothing but polite and helpful.
It has a good range of books and space but don't go here if you want to read quietly. It doesn't feel like a library but more like a busy cafe with screaming toddlers, schizophernics talking loudly to themselves and students hanging out after school. If you have to visit, bring your earphones because it is impossible to concentrate. A suggestion for improvement would be to designate quiet spaces/booths for silent study.
It’s a lovely library inEnfield town. There’s parking in the shopping complex near Waitrose but much easier to walk to. There’s children part &adults. Ladies working there are very friendly. It’s wheelchair &buggy friendly with a lift to take you upstairs. There’s loads of events for children. There’s a cafe right next to it & outdoor seating/park in front of it. A lovely loacation. Check it out.
The staff are very rude and unhelpful and incredibly moody. I was told to move several times because i wasn't using their computers which i found unfair considering there was nowhere else to sit. There weren’t even people using the computers and I still had to move. Would not recommend coming here unless you want to get shouted at by ugly members of staff!
This library has the best children and baby reading area. Sensory space has many activities and toys. Children area was separated by other areas and has many children book. If your child is learning to read, you can find easily in your child’s level book. Baby changing room is clean and user friendly. Workers are very friendly and helpfully
Very unhelpful and unprofessional at front desk! Went there to take some print out but there was some problem with my account information. I provided proof of ID. Still that is enough for them to very my details! Lack of common sense! Why anyone would go there with original ID to breach data protection of a person?
Finally Coming without having need to have slot. So we popped this rainy Friday and had the child section totally for us alone. They have lots of new books and as usual we took lots of them home. Kids enjoyed playing around and reading. Hopefully they will be able open playgroup they used to have.
Nice, vibrant place. Pods for charity workers and council help. Section for kids and outside summer little sensory fountain Next to the library little Caffee with food and drinks. Placed near the square of greens as well benches. A good place to have small picnics if kids are tired.
This library is terrible they won’t let me in to study just because I am a school kid it’s a disgrace this is a form of labelling I want a good education I am to poor to afford Id and they won’t let me in there for don’t go if you are a kid they treat you as if you are trash
Great library. There was a group of students and people waiting outside for the library to be opened at 9 am. The library is clean. It has Enfield council service area and UKVI upstairs as well as extensive book collections. Nice, clean, and quiet.
My first visit here. The library has a beautiful garden in the front. The staff were amazing. They are very friendly and helpful. They follow all the preventive measures for Covid-19. This library building also contains the UKVCAS office.
i have been using libraries constantly in the last 18 month, and without doubt this is the WORST, especially when it comes to the staff, they are very rude and make you feel like nothing. i am still going to make an official complaint.
Modern library across two floors, ample seating and study areas. Toilets in NEED of daily deep cleaning. If they can hire someone to clean, mop floor with bleach and perfume spray the toilets daily it would be worth 5 stars. :)
Old and new on two floors, wheelchair accessible, lots of space, computer 's, Study area, nice view 's cafe helpful staff, Seating, clean big windows lots of natural sunlight, 10/10 meeting, book talk's and so much more
Impressed with the way this library is handling the Covid-19 pandemic. I just had to use the printer and I was new to this area. All staff were very helpful which is the reason I signed up for this library. Amazing!
Facilities are good. However, the old man who gets his power kicks by telling school children not to move chairs should probably look for a new career... librarianship just doesn't seem to be for him.
Positive: Brilliant library, helpful staff, wonderful experience, I recommend this. To improve: would be even better if we had more quite rooms for discussions or for teens to reduce noise level .
Lovely library and very good wifi, but the toilets are absolutely disgusting no loo roll a brown tide mark around some of the decor and dirty floors. With this virus in place more should be done.
Rude staff forced us to leave a desk where we were revising. Her breath stank as well. There was a nice lady (she's the tall one) there though who helped me and asked nicely if we can go
Amazing place for children’s Sensory activities and development, and amazing books to choose from! Staff really nice - nice coffee shop next to it - Car Parking (just across)
A very calm place to relax. In the summer it's got a green space out the front so you can enjoy a read in the sun. It has two toilets upstairs and excellent disabled access.
Superb space, bright, clean, comfortable, friendly staff, good books, films and CDs selection, internet access and computers available. One of the "jewels" of Enfield
Always incredibly helpful and friendly staff and volunteers, special thanks to Eleanor for reuniting my son with his favourite juice bottle when he left it there!
Nice library, with good resources. Love the greenery in front, nice place to sit and relax. A cafe on site. We also used the Dr Bike which comes regularly.
Modern building attached to former earlier twentieth century predecessor. Maintained gardens, a fountain and cafe complete an attractive public amenity.
Great library. Helpful staff, lots of places to sit and read, not to mention the lovely café. One of my son's favourite places, too. Thanks Enfield!
First time visiting and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Want to thank Lakshmi who dealt with my enquiry swiftly Overall good atmosphere
Computer subject not where they should and when found it was annoying as there was a table and chair ( with a person seated) in front of them
Spoilt by the continued use of council desk , send back to civic centre. Causes too much disturbance. This is supposed to be a Library .
Excellent staff, help me to solve my problem & made me feel more confident rather than an idiot thank you & well done …
Very good service top quality staff very friendly and helpful i asked for a better service coldent. Thanks I Lynch
Aesthetically the building is nice and modern. However, it is filthy inside, cold and quite noisy for a library.
The staff in the children's library are lovely and they have a great selection of fiction and non fiction books.
A great selection of Terry Pratchett books and friendly & helpful staff should you need further assistance.
Beautiful and well stocked library. Comfortable sofas, working desks and plenty of books and magazines.
Thank you to Anthony for helping us out with the defibulator information. very nice and informative.
Hard to find anywhere to sit after school as is very popular. Good library. Horrendous toilets.

The food at the Café (EN_Food) is top notch. Really nice and locally sourced.
It's better than ordinance unity centre for sure, staff are much nicer
Staff are always helpful. Lots of space to read quietly and study.
Good sized library with a good range of books and helpful staff.
Very helpful and polite staff and a lovely space outdoors too !!
It seems alot of civic centre business is dealt with here now.
Great receptionist and a good place to spend time with books
Libraries are supposed to be a quiet place, this one is not.
