Head to a different station. Went to get my fingerprints done yesterday and a male officer directed a female officer to do them. Another female office opted to watch as she wanted to be "trained" on how to do them. In her zeal to be the best teacher the first officer messed up the order of my prints and put my left hand on the right hand spaces. So we had to do them again on a new sheet of paper. The details she'd filled in on the last piece of paper had to be redone. She directed me to fill in the back part (as before) and she would do the front part. She made me sign the paper before she'd filled in her part. She forgot to fill in my first given name (even though I gave her my passport). I noticed the mistake when I got home. Called the station, lady on the phone said I could come in and get it changed. Today, I went in with a witness and the same male officer I saw the previous day was there. I explained what happened and this man said, "well it's your fault for not checking that what she wrote was correct." I was blamed for paying $131 for a service and the person doing the service didn't do it properly LOL. The incompetence. He then went on to squeeze my first name there and put his ID as "his rank" will "allow him to do that." He also said that if I was going to have the prints redone for a mistake HIS officer made, I'd have to pay the fee again! $131 is a lot of money to just throw away when someone doesn't do it right the first time. Both days I went in there was noone in the station or at the front desk, the male officer said "they're so busy so I can't expect it to be correct." What an absolute joke! The officer was terribly rude. Next time I'll just go into the city. Wasted 2 days on this! It boggles my mind that as a body that has been given authority to do fingerprints and offer a SERVICE, that we can't expect them to be accurate. At no point in this ordeal was an apology or any level of accountability offered - a TRUE reflection of the pathetic state of SAPOL. The amount of 1*'s they have is alarming.
I contacted the police on 131444 regarding a matter and I was told that matter is illegal and I should go to report it to police station and take the photos with me. The female officer in Sturt station was so rude and told me she wasn't interested in looking into any pictures and or listening to me and said that's totally legal, and I should go to civil court when the matter isn't civil matter. I told her that I spoke to the police over the phone and that's what they instructed me to do. She said that the police on the phone 131444 are not police officers and they don't know the law and asked me to leave without consulting any of her colleagues and was yelling bye bye at me in a childish manner. I left and called 131444 and the officer consulted her Sargent and they sent a police patrol to my house and resolved the issue. The matter was illegal according to the legislations which the police had read as well in my house. Shame on the female officer at Sturt station for acting so rude and claiming she knows the law and being so emotional and racist at the same time and kicking a person out without consulting anybody. The officers who came to my house told me that they have read the regulations prior to coming when I gave them a copy of it and did their home work already. They showed high level of professionalism and they are an example of the police we need in our community. They were very respectful, understanding, operated according to the law, extraordinary police work. However, the blonde female officer with long hair and 2 stripes at the police station is a shame on her department to act in a rude, racist, and childish manner and playing up with the matters of the public like that. She needs to be removed from the front desk of the station because she clearly doesn't belong there.
Was driving normally in left lane during roadworks in 40 zone. Police car exits the station and begins his journey on the right lane. Let’s a group of normal, everyday cars pass and then intentionally moves from right lane to left lane behind me. Police seem to do this quite often despite me driving a white, Alfa Romeo (Not a suspicious car). Police car started keeping an unsafe distance while I was driving 40 in a 40 zone. Continued to do so despite there being a clear right lane to pass me if he wanted to. Eventually we came to a traffic light intersection on an incline and had to stop. It seems that because I drive a manual transmission, he then decided to move unnecessarily close behind me so that if I roll back I cause an accident. After we moved off (no roll back) he decides to continue tailgating me in the left lane, eventually we merge to one lane and then decides to turn his car (gently) from left to right while laughing with his fellow police officer in the passenger seat. Clearly tried to intimidate me to drive at an excess speed and hand me an infringement. Pretty poor behaviour from the SAPOL in my opinion. I’m not happy that these two police officers, (female passenger in her 30s & male driver in his 50s) are driving with this attitude. It’s unacceptable. At least some police officers are much more respectful and courteous than these two that I had to deal with. Would expect much more professional behaviour in Australia but I guess we have some police officers with an attitude problem here as well.
Letting tel. ring for over 50 mins now, no response on a Saturday early afternoon. First I have a long wait with ca. 3 mins total silence from the Sturt Police Station in response to my call, with no acknowledgement (as if to discourage waiting and make the caller hang up). Then comes a recorded voice, with no info in between, saying every 35 seconds "All representatives are currently attending to other calls. We will answer your call asap". Still waiting after 50 mins as I write this... Can only confirm negative reviews. This is even worse than Norwood Police Station, known in all suburbs around as lazy and unresponsive. The best most organized one is Holden Hill Police Station, always thumbs up!
Read so many comments below, glad I am not the only one. Rang to sturt police station on 22/9 , want to add on more mising item on the police report. An old female voice answered the phone, she said she had no idea what I am talking about and saud just come to the police station youself ! Rude with bad attitude! If you are so sick and tired about this job, just retired early, don't waste tax payers money. This is absolutely ruining the reputation of Sturt police station. Anyway, who cares!
Spent some quality time with the staff there. I was asked to stay for dinner. Unfortunately I had to refuse his generous offer as I intensely dislike Mc Donalds. One lovely officer even offered me his place to complete my remaining hours in custody. It was with that offer I realized the reason I was unable to keep my mobile phone..they didn't want their generosity to become public knowledge. They even went above & beyond & asked me to have a 'sleep over'.
my friend is being bullied online and they would rather my friend killed herself than stop her from being bullied online. how are you police, so my friends better off dead than you help at all. if she dose do it your all weak and pathetic . shame on you all ...and am only 14 years old but you can see you dont care if she killed herself. "Dolly" Amy Jayne Everett 1.5.2003-3.1.2018 is one example of bulling online and look none help her
Does wearing a badge give you a right to be so rude? It was extremely hard with my hearing loss disability, and further anxiety due to mandatory masks, as I usually lip read. I had it figured out with live transcribe, body language, and tone of voice, female police officer was just plain rude. I came home feeling upset and really disappointed that I had gone through that. And this was simply for having witness signing done.
Excellent service, read some of the poorer google reviews before we went today, but this was not our experience at all today. The officer who assisted us this morning at Sturt Police Station was friendly, taking her time and care in reading through and understanding what we wanted in terms of signing documents. All this was sorted out in no time and with a friendly smile.
Traffic Response Section from Sturt attended an accident my son and cousins were involved in.at McLaren Vale,. The SAPOL in attendance were professional, compassionate and did a great job dealing with a serious accident that was extremely traumatic for both families. It’s a pity NSW Police can’t take the same approach. Thanks SGT Chris D!!!
Called Sturt police station , They are very Rude & unhelpful !!! Can't even help a young girl get her stuff back from a couple that's holding her furniture for money. Sad day knowing that the South Australia police are just a bunch of Show Ponys !!! They don't help in domestic problem !!!
Wow, spoke to some man at Sturt from the traffic infringement or vehicle collision section. He was SO RUDE for no reason I cannot even believe it. What a nasty piece of work. You people really need to work on your "us and them" mentality and try aiming for "serve and protect" instead.
Female police officer was extremely rude and abrupt when I came in to do a report about a motor vehicle accident that was in no way my fault. She automatically treated me like I was a criminal. If you don't know how to speak to members of the public you shouldn't be a police officer.
Blonde female police officer was extremely rude and condescending and was invalidating the victim of a car crash. Not helpful and victim blaming, garbage excuse for a employee. Stop hiring entitled privileged people with raging attitude, power and ego issues.
If i could give them less than one star i would this is appalling the service is so bad even trying to call them they dont answer the staff just couldn't care less what the problem is this is the worst police station i know
Police won't help me recover my gold.they want me to go get it from the suspect which will result in a crime by me it will get violent me because these police only know how to help them selves not the public they serve
Still haven't returned my possessions after a year, case has been dealt with by courts and they refuse to email me back about my belongings. Taken my USB with my resume and CV, phone and clothing.
Had an incredibly helpful friendly office namely Vic and also her and the rest of the staff were fantastic in processing documents etc. Would highly recommend this police station undoubtedly.
Reported a car accident this evening. Wonderful customer service from Jana, who was caring, compassionate and professional. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thanks so much!
Just a terrible experience all round! If you are close by, go to the Glenelg police station. Far friendlier and seem to have a far better concept of how to communicate effectively ha!
Very poor service. Visited first time. They told there was no one there to help. Tried to ring on 2 occasions and make an appointment but no one would answer the phone.
I am not normally one to comment. However just giving them a call I’ve been on hold for over a hour and still counting. This is to me just seems so stupid.
43.7 minutes hearing how important i was without talking to a human being..brilliant use of taxpayers money Marshall and Co!! Give yourself a pay rise..
Very bad experience. If the Police can’t help then who is going to help the public in need. I wouldn’t give it one star if possible.
Found a carpark immediately, came to get a police clearance and it took ten minutes! Kind officers. Got service as soon as I got in
Great service. Professional and friendly staff. My document certification and finger prints were done there and then. Thumbs up!
The Friendly staff who promptly professionally helped for witness my document on 28th Dec 2021. Clean and modern facilities.
Thank you for answering all my questions, the two officers I spoke to were polite and very helpful. Keep up the good work.
