Spendless has some nice shoes, however it’s hard to enjoy these when it was such a hassle to exchange them. I bought four pairs of shoes online and click & collected them from Strathpine with no issues. However, they didn’t fit quite right so I went to Taigum the next day (only because their website said they had the shoes in a different size in stock) and the lady who served me told me they didn’t have stock of 2/4 and that I couldn’t refund two and exchange the two they had because I bought them on sale online and it was as if I “got them for free.” Since the sale was no longer on, I had to refund the whole amount and repurchase the shoes at their now more expensive price. So instead of having 4 pairs, I left with only 2 but paid the same within 1 day. I should have argued this, however I was on my way to work and had to leave so I just did it and left. I later queried this process online and a team member said I was told the wrong information and to go back to Strathpine, who agreed that the lady at Taigum should have refunded me for half the order and exchanged the others but she told me they couldn’t do anything since Taigum had the shoes and they didn’t stock them so “they couldn’t refund something they didn’t have.” So they couldn’t have put a key code in or organised it with Taigum instead of asking me to then go all the way back to Taigum? I’ve been mucked around so much and not responded to with updates on how Spendless could resolve this, I’ve had to follow up myself and they’re “still working on a resolution”. Honestly poor customer service and mixed messages from each person I’ve spoken to. Ridiculous being penalised because they didn’t have two pairs in stock, as someone with a background in retail, we would have fixed this immediately instead of sending the customer around to different stores and taking weeks to respond to their emails. Fine to shop here if you don’t need to exchange anything, the two pairs of shoes I ended up with are nice but I definitely wouldn’t have paid the amount I ended up paying for them.
I just had the worst experience ever at the Taigum store with Emily the manager. The woman was extremely difficult to deal with. She said I could exchange or get a gift voucher on a pair of shoes that had come apart, then she said she wouldn't give me the voucher after I said I did not want another pair of the same shoes because they were bad quality. The worst part was at the end when she wouldn't tell me her name and said it was on the receipt inside of the box in the bag. I asked her several times but she refused to tell me her name insisting that it was on the receipt. How rude. I had to get the receipt out of the bag and box and ask her to confirm her name because I actually could not read the print because it was so small and I didn't have my reading glasses on! Is is company policy to not tell customers staff names? And why wasn't she wering a name badge? I thought her behaviour toward me was extremely rude and over the top. She needs to get some manners and people skills when dealing with paying customers, instead of trying to embarrass and belittle customers. Not happy and won't be going back ever again thanks to Emily, the apparent manager.
Beautiful shoes, but terrible customer service. The manager Emily was rude and unhelpful. Not impressed!
