Sister City Park is beautiful, fun, welcoming, and overall a well-kept place. When you first travel here you are immediately met with a sign representing why this park was built. In this photo you can see that this sign is referencing all of Albuquerque's sister cities, Alburquerque, Spain, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, Chihuahua, Mexico, Guadalajara, México, Helmstedt, Germany, Hualien, Taiwan, Lanzhou, China, and Lusaka, Zambia. All these places are called our sister cities because of the relationship we have with them. The relationships we have with these cities are formed when officials or someone with assigned importance from Albuquerque and a community in another country or territory sign a formal agreement on behalf of their communities, creating a “sister city” relationship. If you like long open fields, a playground for you or your kids, a tennis court, or just a picnic table, Sister Cities has you covered. With over 3 acres of soft grass and beautiful trees surrounding it, Sister Cities Park is an amazing place to go with your family and friends. I know that I have enjoyed coming here over the years, whether it's playing soccer with my brother or playing football on thanksgiving morning, this park has always been an amazing place to go for taking a break and to take my mind off of things.

I ended up in this park after 311 City information gave me some bad information once again. I had called 311 Albuquerque City information and hopes of getting more detailed information about Playgrounds with a rather large play structure for the children to climb and play on. I was told I have another Park, but upon arriving sound at this park was closed. Not only was it closed but there was no play structure whatsoever on site. I think that lady was not 2 informed on how to read the information on her computer screen. I ask Google Assistant to give me some information on other parks, and we ended up at this one. We had a really nice picnic at one of the picnic table areas. I brought my small backpacking stove along with my little cast iron skillet. We had a marvelous picnic with fried hot dog grilled cheese sandwiches. The children ate, ran and played, and we all had a very good time. The park seem to be pretty clean. The people that were also showing the park with us seem to be of an agreeable nature. The people in the area are friendly. It was very nice to take my children out to a park, and not get bothered by some transient for money, cigarettes, or if I knew where the drugs were. I would highly recommend a family visit this park. I hope you have as much fun as we did.

Well......I remember it as Harper. Park. It was originally a field with a sign that read that a church was gonna be built there. This was before Academy Acres was finished. Walking home from school. Arroyo del Oso, we witnessed the park being constructed. Friends and I were the first to use the playground. Anyway.....it's still a GREAT park. Plenty of shade with the trees placed perfectly on the perimeter. Big open space in the middle. Tennis courts are in great shape and the playground looks brand new with nice, clean sand. Love this park. Great for a family to enjoy. Go check it out. Well maintained.

Good place to have a picnic in the shade. Too bad there are only 2 tables. But u was glad we had a blanket to sit o .
Playground
Minimal equipment to play on. I think park was designed for soccer or tail rather than for the neighborhood to enjoy. Such a shame.
Restrooms
NONE.
Dog-friendliness
As long as it is only the perimeter not their special soccer of yafl field or tennis courts
Picnic area
Bring your own blanket. There are only 2 tables

Was not great. Several sink holes, grass mowed over tall, grandson fell when his foot went in. Standing in the area, grass was knee deep on a 5 yr old. Picnic table had standing water underneath, but we've had no rain in weeks. Puncture vine and sand burr around the play area. Grandson had burrs on his butt when he fell. Do not recommend for young kids.
Playground
Nice play structure, but sand burr grass and goat heads around.
Restrooms
None

This park has great shade trees, tennis courts, a playground, and soccer field. Usually populated by family picnics, an couple professionals eating lunch, and on the weekend young people's soccer leagues. There are two picnic tables and a couple benches, and the lawn is kept plentiful well enough for good blanket picnicking as well. I spent probably a hundred lunches here over the past year and enjoy it greatly.

The park is clean and not littered with trash like other parks in this city it has a playground and ab tennis court and a good enough open area for pets but it doesn't have any fencing so if your pet likes to run off he sure to have it on a leash as people in albuquerque drive erratically and most times don't pay attention to their surroundings when driving but that depends on the person driving as well

It's very smooth very soothing very comfortable to go to the sister cities for especially during lunch hour because a lot of people pull up park right there sister cities Park on Harper and McKinney and just have lunch and there's park benches there and there's a lot of grass I just made of what type of whether it is it's always nice and green there funny people to very safe

  • Amariel L.

I love coming to this park! It's well maintained and cared for. There were a number of kids playing, people playing on the courts and several people relaxing in the grass. Even with all the people, I still had my own space to kick back and enjoy the beautiful weather. If you're looking for a nice park to enjoy, this is a great place to go.

Large playground area for the kids. Multiple tennis courts that are in really good condition. A large green area that would be great for a game of tag, or touch football. A few picnic tables and park benches, and plenty of shade trees to escape the heat of the New Mexico sun. Definitely, a nice stop to break up the monotony of life!

  • Tita Tracy

We had a picnic in the park. The grass was soft and wonderful to walk barefoot on. The green space was large and many parts of it have trees and shade. We saw an exercise class taking place. We saw families walking around and playing on the playground. We saw others picnicing. The birdsong was beautiful ❤️. We will be going back.

Had a wonderful day with my kids at the park!!! For 2pm on a Saturday, not too busy at all!! There were a group of kids playing football! A few other parents with kids older than mine playing on the equipment. Everyone in the park had smiles and were having fun!!! Will definitely be returning!!

  • Phil Miller

Cute simple park, mostly appropriate to call this a green space with a small child park and tennis courts.
Playground
Simple, bounder aged play equipment.
Dog-friendliness
Not much to say. There is grass. Not a dog park.
Picnic area
No tables, but there is grass.

  • reuben preut

Nice stop off of I25, medium size playground with lots of climbing equipment, plenty of open grass for sports, 4 fenced in concrete tennis courts and lots of trees for shade with tables. A long walkway goes around and through the park, great for everyone.

  • Ali Carr

Small park with a playground and a few picnic tables. Downside is no parking lot and you have to park on the street. Not shaded except for the trees. It was pretty clean but the benches are falling apart and the playground floor needs to be redone.

  • Eva Yambao

Calm and clean park. There are lot of big trees for shade. The playground is in good condition for the kids to play. The tennis court is in good condition as well. There are two benches and one picnic table. There is no water fountain or restroom.

  • Chas H.

Nice small park. There's a tennis court, park to walk the dog or play some sports, and the little play area for the kids. Could use some more swings and little bit of maintenance, but other than that it's a good place to take your little ones.

  • Warman Hall

Very nice open grassy space. Great vibe of a neighborhood park. Playground for the kids and tennis courts. Shade trees and grass. The only parking is along the roadway. Plenty of trash cans but I did not notice a public restroom.

  • Chris Guzman

Really open park that's not crowded with benches or extra flair allowing plenty of space to play catch, fetch or just lay down with a blanket on the grass and slow down. Good views and and another great park in the city

  • gary toledo
