⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you want to truly understand the resilience and courage of the people of Sarajevo during the Siege, a visit to the Sarajevo Siege Museum is an absolute must. This museum is an emotional and educational journey that offers a profound insight into the Bosnian War and the 1,425 days of the Siege of Sarajevo. The museum's layout and exhibits are exceptionally well-designed. Each section is carefully curated to tell the story of the siege, providing a comprehensive overview of the historical context, the daily struggles faced by the citizens, and the heroism that emerged during those dark times. The artifacts on display, including personal belongings, photographs, and video footage, bring the history to life and evoke a deep sense of empathy. One of the most impressive aspects of the Sarajevo Siege Museum is the attention to detail. The staff has done a remarkable job in recreating the atmosphere of the siege, allowing visitors to experience what life was like under constant shelling and sniper fire. The reconstructed scenes, such as the makeshift hospital and the underground tunnel, offer a visceral understanding of the challenges faced by the people of Sarajevo. The museum also provides a platform for survivors and witnesses to share their stories. The personal testimonies and audiovisual presentations add a human element to the exhibits, making the visit even more impactful. It's truly remarkable to hear firsthand accounts of survival, resilience, and the indomitable spirit of the Sarajevans. The Sarajevo Siege Museum is not just a place to learn about history; it's a place to reflect, to honor the victims, and to appreciate the strength of the human spirit. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about their work, which enhances the overall experience. I highly recommend visiting this museum to gain a deeper understanding of the Siege of Sarajevo and pay tribute to the incredible resilience of its people.

One of the more expensive museums in Sarajevo. 15 BAM entrance fee (7.5 euros), but well worth it. It is a privately owned museum, full of personal items and testimonials of people who actually lived in Sarajevo during the seige. Some were teenagers and children at that time, some already had families, some were soldiers or students. It is heartbreaking and eye opening of what war really is and how it affects everyday life. I spent 3 hours here and honestly - I read every single testimonial. If you want to know about war in Bosnia, forget about history and politics, come to this museum and you will learn about the war from people's experiences.

Grateful for how this museum recorded so many personal accounts of the war. I wished there was more information and historical context though and labels next to the items featured. I wanted to know the significance of the items and memorabilia I was looking at. 95% of the museum is personal testimonials that have been translated into English. If you’re looking for a thorough account with lots of historical context, this probably isn’t the right museum.

If you blitz through the museum you likely won't get much from the experience. I suggest taking the time to read some of the stories from the people who lived through the siege, they are on the walls of every room. If you take the time to read them slowly, you will experience some of the weight and dread residents of Sarajevo had to endure for 1425 days. It left me thinking for a while.

Memorable, truly brings to reality the daily struggling of multiple families during 4 nightmarish years and commemorates some of the most incredible moments from those life stories. Absolutely unique and deliberately heartbreaking, the museum reminds us of this part of history that often goes unnoticed and we forget happened at the very door of Europe.

No words. Just come and see and get absorbed into the pain of such a huge tragedy. A must-visit in Sarajevo. Never, never, never again. People, no wars, no discriminations, no nationalism or chauvinism or imperialism, no more victims, no more tragedies. Never ever.

First you read brief history of Yugoslavia and Bosnia independence, then you get to see items from war time Sarajevo coupled with people's stories and video recordings, all related, hence you get the whole picture of the times during city's siege. Stop all wars!

If you want to get to know Sarajevo, you must visit the Museum of the Siege of Sarajevo. This is the only way to understand the city as it once was and as it is now. I recommend everyone to visit this museum, as one of the first things they should do when they come to Sarajevo.

Less but still distressing than the genocide and Srebrenica museums. You would not have shields warning people against snipers in today's social media age, it only works when you have a real-world community of people who care. The exhibits are actually not that old, you have a keyboard, a guitar, a clock, a chess board, all relatable

Stepping into the Siege of Sarajevo Museum felt like stepping back in time. The well-preserved artifacts and informative exhibits offered a glimpse into the past. You'll leave with a wealth of knowledge on what happened during the siege. A place to visit and learn from history
