DO NOT go to this pharmacy at Marine Gate. The staffs working there are not only impolite, they do not always explain the usage of the medication. Just yesterday (Dec 19th, 2022), an elderly couple who lives close to me told me this incident. They went there to drop off their prescriptions. The pharmacist who is an Asian lady said to the elderly couple to return after 2 hours. When they returned to pick up the medication after 2 hours, the Asian lady lied to their face and alleged that she told them to return 3 hours; and not 2 hours. Even though the medications were ready, the pharmacist refused to give them. The elderly couple saw their blue bucket, and their medication was ready. The pharmacy manager, another Asian lady, came and impolitely told the elderly couple she heard it was 3 hours. That was just reprehensible! I know the elderly couple very well and they are the nicest persons around. Although this is hearsay, I would absolutely believe them without any hesitation. Because I had the similar experience dealing with those people. Many moons ago I was standing and waiting to consult one of them. The pharmacist who was also an Asian lady was chatting with another lady in Chinese dialect for over 20 mins. No, the other lady wasn't a customer nor a colleague. She was wearing high profile attire. I vowed to never return to that place. The manager of that store should do his/her job make sure customers are treated with respect and courtesy. If the medication wasn't ready yet, just apologize and own up to your incompetency rather than being dishonest. You DO NOT lie to an elderly couple.
I understand this pharmacy gets a lot of negative press, but I have had many positive experiences here. One pharmacist in particular went above and beyond at our consult. After describing my symptoms and reiterating that I don’t have a GP, she was able to refer me to multiple clinics that may be accepting patients. She also prescribed me enough medication to get me through the day. I had no luck that day trying to find any medical assistance, but was able to make an appointment with my psychiatrist for the following day. When I returned to the pharmacy, I doubted I would be able to get more meds without a full prescription. However this same pharmacist recognized me immediately, checked in with my symptoms, ensured that I would be getting care soon, and prescribed me a couple more tabs to get me up to the appointment. Once I had my appointment and the prescription got faxed over, she was on it. Less than 30 minutes later I had my full prescription ready. I don’t want to shout her out by name, but hopefully she knows who she is by the story. This was exceptional customer service, going above and beyond what was expected. Every other level of care had no time for me and I had no appetite to go to the hospital just because of constant nausea. She worked with me, met me where I was at non-judgementally, and provided the best care she could. Thank you! I’m feeling much better a couple days later and you’re a big reason why!
The pharmacy is a a legendary bad customer service spot. We got something that’s not working and had to drove back. We asked the ppl in the pharmacy area, there’s no customer and took them minutes to come talk to me. One can clearly see none of the woman nor the man wants to help any customer. After they heard my concern the guy said he’s just here for the cover, the woman said contact the manufacturer. We asked a guy working outside of the pharmacy, his name tag said Kent. He gave us tips on how to select these health related products and gave us a refund for the default result. He was friendly, understandable, professional, patient and efficient. I’m pretty sure he gets paid much less than these workers in white gowns. But he’s much more caring for other humans when they needed help. In this life he deserves much more than the people working in the pharmacy. I’ve had numerous bad experience at this pharmacy location( seems like different workers every time too) Words can’t describe how awful this pharmacy is. I feel even if someone pass out at their counter they will not care at all. They just want to chill there, make a salary and not deal with people. ( if you hate people why you choose a customer facing job?) They don’t deserve the knowledge they have, the don’t have the character to work in healthcare. If I’m a store owner I won’t even choose these two people as a cashier. Come on, do better!!
One particular pharmacist (Brian Seo) was extremely rude and downright hostile. Not only was he not helpful, he immediately shuts down my follow-up question, walked away, and ignored me. This pharmacist made me feel like a nuisance for basic inquiries about my condition. This is not the first incident either, various friends of mine who frequent the location also shared similar experiences with this pharmacist. Such behavior is unacceptable as I was not able to find the proper medication due to his reluctance to assist me. As a fellow healthcare provider, I believe his horrid conduct violates his professional duty and jeopardizes patients' safety. Multiple people and myself will be reporting him to the BC college. As for the manager of this Shoppers location, I am uncertain how he was hired in the first place. This tells me that either there was no vetting processes for their employees, or that they simply do not care for customer well-being.
I dropped by to pick up a prescription. After a few minutes, the pharmacy staff finally acknowledged my presence (I agree with the previous "no eye contact" comments!). After asking for my info, the staff tried to locate my prescription and mentioned that she could not find it. I would totally understand if she continued looking for it but she started working on other tasks (collecting other prescriptions, I am guessing, because she was holding these little blue baskets and loading them with items) while I stood there waiting. I had to complain to another staff member about why it was taking soooo long. The staff member asked why and she mentioned again that she could not locate my prescription BUT she was not doing anything to actually find it and just letting me wait. Finally, they found out that that the prescription was placed under surname J when my surname initial was G. Kindly consider re-training your staff. Thank you so much.
Pharmacy technician doesn't care about the patient. I know it's always busy but if patient is infront of you it would be polite to put down whatever it is you are doing and try and help the patient. Even the lady pharmacist (i think her name is ADA) doesn't care. I need a consultation about an OTC medicine for my 9 year old kid. She wouldn't even come close to me and just yell behind the counter "what is your question?" When i asked her about the dosing she just said "yes your kid can use that" and just told me "same as adult, it's on the packaging" I have more question but I just didn't bother.. apparently their too busy to give a patient attention. I am not even rushing them. Finish what you are doing then come face to face with me and talk. Absolutely zero patient care. Definitely never going back to this location.
I would not reccomend shopping for makeup product here. I went in a few weeks back and asked for help locating a product and was told by their rude staff members working that section that I should look it up myself online. I did try finding it online and was unable to find what I was looking for. I eneded up going to the shoppers at Metro Town Centre where I was helped by such a lovely staff member there who told me that the product I was looking for was in new packaging, and gave me additional information in case the product gets discontinued in the future. Her kindness and customer service was much appreciated! Unfortunately the same can't be said for the lack of customer service I recieved at this location, very disappointing and unprofessional.
Worst pharmacy I have dealt with. Endless screw ups and over-worked grumpy staff. My family member is very ill and they continued to make mistakes with the prescriptions. Pharmacies are to help patients not to jeopardize their well-being. There are many other pharmacies that can provide decent services...just not this one and other Shoppers in general! Stay away from this ridiculous business. Shopper's Drug Marts are ususally poorly staffed and the turn over is so high. There is no reason to get your prescriptions filled when you only get lousy service without any savings! London Drugs, on the other hand, always provide consistently friendly services that make you feel at home. I asked for the manager to call but it has been 2 weeks...no call!
Had the worst experience. I called and asked if they could contact another pharmacy and have my prescription be transferred. I did not receive any follow up so I called again. The lady I talked to said she does not know if her colleague contacted the pharmacy or not but she will do that right now. Then no follow up again. I physically went to their location at night and they said they did not receive the prescription. The clerk was laughing at the situation as if it was a funny incident. The next day I called the original pharmacy they faxed the prescription 3 times. So surprised as of how this branch never get the prescription or had the curtesy to follow up. I ended up cancelling the transfer.
I had enough bad experiences at pharmacy this location over and over again. I agree people leave negative reviews here. They don’t care about parents, few times I saw nicer stuff, but they leave right away. Recently the Asian male I saw new face joined, and he is pretty rude to me. He told me to wait, then he helped others who came after me who was white Caucasian. Is he racists? The other day he was kind to the girls, but completely rude attitude towards to me. Enough is enough. I decided to change pharmacy, then they refused to transfer prescription because it was on the way. Then they weren’t honest about the arrival time. They wasted my 5 hours. I’m not going back this location.
Carly has been at the cosmetics counter the last 2 times I went in, and she has a wonderfully bubbly and friendly energy. I appreciate the selection of items and deals, but encountering others in customer service who love people as much as I do is a really pleasant and enjoyable experience. Carly, Keep being your friendly self! People like me appreciate it. And I'll be honest, your positivity has brought a stand out, uplifting experience to a challenging time in my life. You never know what kind of a difference you're making in someone's day just by being yourself. ❤️ So thank you.
Normally I like Shoppers and frequent the downtown locations. However I occasionally stop by this one after work. Wish London Drugs was located here instead Pharmacy: Poor customer care at the pharmacy. Completely ignored for 5-10 mins while I was dropping off my prescription. Staff kept making eye contact but no one offered any help. Store: often shelves are empty and the sale prices are either missing or still up after the sale prices are over. Then you have to go through the whole request for them to honour the displayed price.
Worst customer service (rude, unprofessional, and intimidation), and the management encourages such treatment to their customer. They would try to control the issue by ignoring your complaints. I have written an escalation letter directly to the store manager, and it has been over a month now, and still has never heard back from this man and the ruling of the so called "investigation". I will never go shop here again, and have told all my acquaintances regarding my experience with this store. Not even worth a star.
Long story short, they got my prescription wrong and did not take any accountability. Speaking to the pharmacy owner through the phone about this issue, I was blown away by her "amazing customer service" and could tell how how all these google reviews are positive. When I went in store for them to prove that the prescription they received was wrong, they failed to produce it. At that point, I just accepted that i've wasted $100 on prescription that they ordered by mistake because their team is a joke.
I have come here many times to buy medicine, and every time the staff here provided good service. Today I met the counter manager, Asian women, she was very serious from beginning to end, without a smile, and the service was very poor. It seems she doesn’t like her job very much. How can such a quality be a manager? She makes me feel like I never want to walk into this pharmacy again!!! The owner of pharmacy need take a action to teach her counter manager about meaning of customer service.
When I arrived in the store, after 15 minutes of waiting, I finally got the chance to ask an employee to test a fragrance. They promptly walked away and said they would get another person to help us. After 5-10 minutes of waiting, we were offered no help and saw the same lady helping other customers. It shouldn’t matter that I’m a teenager, I was planning on buying something but I simply ran out of time and got fed up with waiting. Shoppers drug mart, you lost a customer.
Thank you so, so much to pharmacist Parm! She really took the time to answer my questions regarding certain medication and I could tell by speaking with her, she was in no rush at all, carefully listened to my concerns, and asked more questions to be completely thorough about my situation and see what would be the best solutions for it. Thank you so much, I really appreciate your time and genuine concern for patients and people who need help the most!
Get rid of this place. They are lucky they are getting 1 star, if I could 0 star. Why do people get treated improperly here by the staff, and security. Not everybody is going in to Shoppers drug mart to steal, believe it or not, most people are there for actual medical purposes. It seems like 8 times out of 10, staff or security want to start a confrontation purposely. Let the police handle that.
The pharmacist Lindsey didn't say much. She knew what she was doing, and she did it well. Thank you! Only one suggestion, I can't find sanitizer or sanitizing wipes for customers' use anywhere around the counter. That's rare for a pharmacy. I can easily find sanitizer in London Drugs, T&T or Pharmasave. Looking forward to some attention. I highly recommend the Pharmasave on Oak & 42nd.
It's good place to shop. It's clean and usually well stocked. The pharmacy is nice. They sell electrical toothbrushes like oral b. They have a cosmetics section. Skytrain is best. Located right at Marine gateway station on the Canada line. Parking is not reimbursed. There is an underground parking. Very few street parking spots in this area -- just for a drop off and pick up.
the pharmacy assistant here was so rude and cut me off in the middle of my sentence saying “You need a carecard for that” and i thought it can just be a simple question but no. I understand if its regulation but the way she handle the situation was horrible. she should at least listen to my question and explain the regulation. terrible customer service from pharmacy
Location is excellent. They have what any shoppers will have so all the basics. It’s a smaller location so they don’t have a few things like Canada post. Overall a highly convenient store in a good location. Update- pharmacy staff sometimes ignore you while you stand there. Waiting 10 + mins just to pick up a medication when there’s no line up at all.
Updating my review because it seems like things have improved at this location. The pharmacy is great, especially the new pharmacist, I didn't get their name but pretty no nonsense as well as extremely helpful. The cosmetics department is also very pleasant and helpful, and often someone is there to hop on the checkout when they aren't short staffed.
The pharmacy assistant (old lady) who worked on Friday night was soo rude and arrogant, she was not even listening to our concerns and then said she is not getting paid to work after 12, even though we went in early evening. I don’t know why can’t you do your job properly- they are not doing it for free, they are getting paid for it.
The worst pharmacy ever, ive gotta go back and forth for 3xs,for them ending up putting on my sons covered on my husbands insurance as my husbands spouse, dont they check the date of birth?!and they said it will be ready in an hour when you comeback and trying to get your son's medication they said its not ready.ridiculous.
Very bad experience from the evening pharmacy receptionist at the Shoppers drug mart marine drive. she was a lady probably in her 40's - 50's. She was very rude and spoke like as if she was angry. without even listening to what i have to say I spoke politely to her. such a rude lady.
The pharmacy here is the worst. Never gonna visit again. I booked a vaccine for today. Arrived on time. Waited for over half an hour and the woman went straight towards a white guy after me and asked what he want. Totally ignored me. I feel really upset. Ruined my rest of the day.
I was unhappy with the attention received at this pharmacy location, my medications(most of the time) were not ready at time scheduled. I was ignored for several minutes before someone acknowledged my presence. At times pharmacy staff could be rude to me or other customers.
Exceptional help today from Aida M. (Pharmacy Manager)! Personable, friendly, helpful and professional! Thank you so much Aida for going way above and beyond average assistance on so many occassions! Also Linda (Pharmasist) on a previous visit was also very helpful.
I booked an appointment for a vaccine. Arrived at the appointment on time just to be told they ran out of the vaccine and to book for some other time. Have you guys never heard of phones??? They are a great tool to let someone know not to come!
I would give 0 star if google allows me to. Had the worst experience picking up prescriptions today. The Asian woman pharmacist is super rude and hard to communicate with. She doesn’t let people finish talking and just either starts to talk
I've had such all-around garbage service from the retail workers at this Shoppers that I decided to stop going here years ago. Up until today, when I went to the medical clinic upstairs, and they gave me a prescription and recommended that
It’s a waste to give one star here. I had really BAD experience this pharmacist ever!! The pharmacist was very unfriendly and gave me the medicine and there was no explanation about the medicine. When I asked it to her for an explanation,
This has got to be the WORST Shoppers ever! No one behind the pharmacy counter ever acknowledges you even though there were at least 3 individuals there. The owner of this Shoppers obviously has no care about how he or she runs the place.
Do not go here for medication or to pharmacy. Don’t know how to deal with customers. Asian lady in her 50s or maybe 60s needs to learn how to listen to others by not showing so much of arrogance, i know nobody wants to stay after working
The people at this Shoppers Pharmacy are incompetent, there is no nicer way to say this. The lady trying to figure out my insurance coverage was really struggling and kept telling me it’s not working, and the rude pharmacist was too busy
Amazing and such helpful staffs! A huge shout out to Neha for helping me putting together a gift basket for a friend of mine! I was a bit clueless as to what to get and she managed to put together an amazing care package! Thank you Neha!!
Certainly one of the most awful service experiences you might have in Canada. I had my booster shot booked here and they cancelled my appointment without notice. My wife who slot was booked for 10min after mine was able to get her shot
Only regarding pharmacy. Was attempting to have my prescriptions moved over to this store. Pharmacy made zero effort to contact me for 2 days. I called on the third day and the rep who answered the phone was condescending and actually
It’s a very nice place to shop even if prices are a bit higher than other places. A very useful stores. I would have to say, however, that my experiences with the pharmacists themselves weren’t amazing.
This store is conveniently located right by the Skytrain station and Translink Bus terminal. Long opening hours. Underground pay parking and very limited free street parking. #letsguide #covid
I went to buy gift pack for my friend’s bridal shower. Beautiful lady name Karli helped me to buy that gift package. she is so kind and helpful. Thank you so much for your help Karli.
This location’s pharmacy staff names Vivian is rude. She can literately talk with you and jump to next customer out of blue. She is not willing to support customers at all.
I went there to get gift for a friend and i met Karli. She was super sweet and helped me finding the best gift. I hope she gets a raise for excellent customer service.
Neha was an awesome host, when i went there to buy some perfumes for my home visit. Sometimes the personal touch and connection makes the difference. Kudos Team …
I give zero to the pharmacy service. The girl name vivian is sooo rude and so with the pharmacist who was with her today.dec2922@6pm!
Arrived 15 mins after opening and the pharmacist still wasn’t there. Poor guy working had to tell everyone “just 5 mins” over and over
I bought a perfume on this Sunday. Neha assisted me with that. I'm really happy with her recommendations. Thank you.
Friendly and helpful pharmacist when I was shopping for cough relief for my son, gave great advice
The staff there deserve 0 star. Train your pharmacist how to treat patients!
