This first visit was full of ups and downs. I thought it mattered who I booked, but when I walked in the (I'll just call her) receptionist said I should try Daniel, a man who has strong hands. I thought, is this because I'm a size 16? Can't Annie handle a woman of substance? But I demurred. I undressed in the room and realized there was no sheet to slide under. When the receptionist came in she told me to wrap the towel at the foot of the table around me. Then Daniel came in with a sheet and whipped off the towel under the sheet. I indicated where I wanted Daniel to focus. He does not speak English well and I do not speak any other language (boo on me for not knowing if it should be Korean, Mandarin or other) so I pointed. When Daniel focuses, he REALLY focuses on an area. It was my back and glutes and he massaged over the sheet. So my busy mind wondered if that was a cultural thing or if he had an issue with my brownness or if it was a policy for a man massaging a woman. I was anticipating getting chaffed! Finally, he rolled down the sheet and started on my shoulders with oil. Usually when I indicate areas to be worked on, the therapist figures that into the time and at least touches the other parts of me. That would not have happened if I hadn't told him arms and that I wanted to turn around. Now mind you I had no idea of the time and although he asked if I was ok from time to time, I couldn't anticipate if he'd leave one area for another. Daniel did a great job on my jaw and clavicle, then my feet. Oh, for the feet! He left the room and again my busy mind wondered why. He came back with warm towels to clean my feet. I wish every therapist did that! He greased them up and took care of both feet very well, then left and returned with another warm towel so I wouldn't slide out of my shoes when I put them on. The other weird thing is that Daniel left the door wide open when he returned with the towels, and I didn't complain since I was covered and am not particularly modest. But hearing people up and down the halls was distracting. Again, was this a policy? I asked when I paid and was told that they sometimes leave a door ajar, but not wide open. All in all, it was a decent but not restful experience.

(TLDR. Good massage bad facilities.) I had scheduled my appointment the day before as it was a birthday present from my mother. The lobby is, I mean a lobby. Nothing crazy relaxing and solid concrete floors that were kind of off putting but whatever i was getting a 90-minute massage for $119 dollars so who am i to judge? There was a very nice gentleman at the desk took my information and escorted me to the room i striped in the room and laid down on the table and had just a towel to cover myself waiting for the technician to come into the room. The room was very large for the table and a chair for me to set my stuff down and then the rest was a big empty room. (There was a shelf holding fire alarms in boxes?) As i laid into the table i noticed the sheets smelled of mildew and it was a very strong smell. I was anxious and didn't say anything to the woman who had entered as i was almost completely naked and really didn't want to have to stand and move for her to get the sheets off. As she started to give me my 90-minute massage i realized there was no music. There was no music for the whole session. I could hear the toilet flush down the hall. Eventually someone 3 ish rooms down got spa music turned on and i kind of relaxed. It was a pretty good massage, but the sheets and the dead silence really ruined the experience. While in the middle of my massage i heard my phone vibrating on the chair and i tried to ignore it but no music kind of made that impossible. After my massage i used the bathrooms very clean nice spa bathrooms. Checked my 4 missed calls and found out my mother was in the hospital taken in for surgery and i immediately was rushing out. I understand that tipping culture is very important in jobs such as these and i feel awful for pressing the closet button to my hand and RUNNING from the building but i had to go. Was a little jarring to have the technician watch me brimmed with tears to see what her tip would be. My mother lived but all in all a decent massage just really jarring place.

I cannot believe how bad my experience was considering the reviews are 4.5 stars. I booked online with a woman, when I got there a man checked me in, led me to the room then left without saying anything. He later came in and tried to say he was giving me the massage. I said I was uncomfortable with that that's why I specifically booked with a woman. There was a huge language barrier which made the experience even more frustrating as there was almost no communication going on. He left again without saying anything. IDK what's going on at this point and I almost left because of how uneasy I was feeling. They tell me to put this teeny towel that barely covers me. A lady finally comes in in puts a sheet over me, why can't we wear the sheet to begin with? She then yanks the towel off from underneath with no warning. She starts giving me the massage which was okay. At this point I'm just waiting for the appointment to be over. Then in the MIDDLE of my massage the door busts open and some other lady is standing over me like "hello hello, excuse me" So I try and sit up from my stomach without flashing everyone. Shes asking me if I have an appointment...in the middle of my massage then tries to confirm my phone # even though I already checked in. At this point I'm completely over it and I know I'm not going to be able to relax. Throughout the rest of my appt the door is left cracked with people walking by and my masseuse will randomly leave without saying anything. Absolute worst massage experience I've ever had. No concern for privacy or comfort.

Enjoyed a 90 minute massage this week with Shasha, whose small stature and cute personality should not be mistaken for demure. Her massage was great and when I told her that I like a good amount of pressure, she definitely delivered. My massage was more therapeutic than relaxing, which is what my muscles needed. Another review indicated no music, but there was spa music playing when I was there. I am not sure if that changed or hers was a bad day. The concierge (young woman) delivered me to the bathroom (clean) and then my treatment room, which was also pretty clean and large. The style of the massage I received was different than others I've had, but was enjoyable. It was not a typical Swedish or Deep tissue. But was very effective and nice. Some items that were a little out of the ordinary worth sharing so people know what to expect - Instead of a full flat sheet on the massage table for covering up, they will give you a couple of towels. The massage therapist left the room for a minute without saying anything. When she came back I asked if everything was okay and she told me she went to get hot towels. Apparently they have them in a central location instead of each treatment room. Her English was basic, but we managed to communicate just fine about the essentials. For example, at one point I asked her to use lighter pressure on my neck and she clarified and understood and adjusted. All in all a great experience and I would definitely go back and enjoy another service here.

Do not believe the positive reviews. Do not come here. We signed up for a couple's massage, me (male) and my girlfriend. The facility was OK, nothing special. We signed up for a 60 minute basic massage, and I put down a woman to give the massage - naturally there needed to be another person, but that was to be determined. We were put in a room with 4 beds, got ready, and laid down. A man and a woman came in, and swapped genders for who gave the massage. My massage from the woman was OK. My girlfriend's massage was completely inappropriate, but didn't know how to say anything to them. She was traumatized and left in tears because of how the man handled it. The whole time, they were quietly muttering things in a foreign language to themselves, and not ever timed in a communicative way that would be helpful to the massage experience. Upon leaving, I paid for the massage, then was pressured to give a tip with her phone translator, so I gave her a $20 and she hand waved me off like I was ripping her off and was completely rude about it (without any English). The man was weirdly lurking in the background the whole time. The whole experience was terrible. They are a "cash only/preferred" kind of business, they wanted no paperwork about us, and I question whether or not they were actually massage therapists to begin with.

I’ve only had 2 massages in my life so I don’t have much to go on but I can tell you this was a very strange massage appointment. The massage itself was wonderful. She targeted problem areas and it felt great. However, I did feel she was not very discreet with the placement of the blanket. At certain points, I felt as though my entire butt was out. There was no communication about her moving to this area. She just pulled the sheet back and exposed my butt. While half my butt was out, she walked out and left the door wide open. I did not feel comfortable and covered. She left 3 times during the massage, once after someone busted into the room and started talking with the door wide open. I did notice her phone kept moving as it was on the table at one point and during other times it was gone. I kept hearing it vibrate to the point where I figured it was on the table with me. This made me very uncomfortable as I could tell she was only using one hand during certain points so likely texting with the other. I would not come back for sure.

My sister and I planned a spa day for my mother’s birthday. After our massages, we were told the remainder of our services could not be completed since the employee who typically does them had called out sick just moments ago. The gentleman offered a credit/gift certificate for my sister and mother to reschedule. Unfortunately, I live out of town so I would not be able to attend. He said that he would make note of it in my sister’s account. Every time they tried to reschedule, the employee was either sick, on vacation or just not available. When they finally were able to reschedule and arrived for their appointment, there was no indicator of the credit/gift card. The staff argued with me over the phone for a while until finally offering services just for my mother, leaving my sister to pay full price. Yet again, this business managed to disappoint their plans for a relaxing and enjoyable day.

My wife and I were in Nashville for a little R & R at The Hermitage Hotel. I asked my regular massage studio in Memphis for a recommendation in Nashville and fortunately ended up with Jesse at Sensation Day Spa, and my wife had an awesome foot massage with Bruce. The spa itself is brand new and is a Rock Star Spa for numerous skin care & facial treatments, foot massage, waxing, and the best Swedish massage & deep tissue massages I have ever had. I get 2-3 massages a week and have had massages at luxury resorts across the United States that don’t even come close to Jessica’s, The entire staff is friendly & welcoming & the facilities are extremely clean & first class in every way. My wife and I both highly recommend Sensation Day Spa.

This massage is not what it seems. If you’re looking for a standard, American, relaxing massage, this is NOT the place for you. The reviews and the website are misleading, DO NOT GO HERE. They were also inappropriate with my boyfriend and I. I requested a woman for both massages for my boyfriend and I, and they brought a man in who happened to be very aggressive with his work, and was not generous enough with towel usage. The woman was the same way with my boyfriend. I am not relaxed in the slightest. If anything, I was wondering what the hell was going on the whole time I was face down and worried that my towel would slip off more. 10/10 DON’T recommend.

I came in desperate need of a massage. They were able to accept a walk-in last minute. Wonderful prices and the offer many other services, including facials. I had a nice, private room with relaxing vibes. The massage therapist came through the door after I invited them in and immediately began the massage. No conversation needed, just work with the hands. I really appreciated this since I don't enjoy talking about my day or much about my particular pains. She checked in with me to ensure the pressure was good and that's all I needed. Really appreciate the speedy service, quiet and serene atmosphere, and the professionalism of all staff. Very welcoming.

I do NOT recommend! I booked a 90 min massage and left before 60 min was up. The minute I walked in I knew something was off about this place. I completely agree with everything said in Ana Jones review. They give you a tiny towel. Nothing about it is relaxing. The male masseuse made me feel very uncomfortable. When I said I wanted to end the session early a woman came in the room to question my reason. They left the door open and kept coming in and out of the room. People were walking by down the hallway, there was banging around, and there was no privacy. I couldn't wait for my appointment to be over. It was an overall terrible experience.

Me and my fiancé loves couples massages we get them everywhere we travel and since we are kinda new here we give this place a shot what a mistake first they put us in a room with 4 tables so it wasn’t intimate like other places the man I had was rude and didn’t speak it was very rough and the woman who did my fiancé clearly didn’t know what she was doing he said she would do one side one way and do the other side another she applied no pressure I stated that we wanted the foot in the chair but it was done on the table it was just a very bad experience we will be back oh and no water was offered just rude

Was happy to be able to make same day appointment but then they pushed back the time a half hour last minute. They did call to verify this was ok, but then we waited another 45 minutes once we arrived. Massage was good, but not especially relaxing as the door was left open and other people kept coming to the doorway to talk to the masseuse. When we went to pay they claimed we booked the massage that was $10 more apiece than the ones we actually booked. Also did not know in advance it is cash only. We’ll go elsewhere next time.

My wife and I walked just BEFORE our appointment time for our 90 min couples massage only to find out that they gave away our appointment to 3 bachelorettes that walked in off the street 2 minutes before we arrived… the lady behind the counter said “we called to confirm and you didn’t answer” They called me 2 min before we got there and didn’t leave a message… So reservations are meaningless at this place… because they will just take walk-ins and bump you anyway…

I booked an afternoon massage appointment over the phone one day in advance and received all of the normal confirmation messages informing me of my appointment. The day of my appointment I received a cancellation notice three minutes prior to my scheduled time (literally as I arrived at the facility). I inquired as to why my appointment was scheduled and they informed me that they did not have anyone available to see me. Very frustrating to not have more notice.

You’ve probably driven past this building a million times. Next time STOP HERE AND GET A MASSGE. This was hands down the BEST and most thorough massage I’ve ever gotten. Amy was wonderful. She used her knees and elbows to get ever knot out of my back. The treatment rooms are cozy and inviting. There is no locker room so you get dressed and undressed in the room, which I like. The bed was warmed up and the sheets were very soft. I will absolutely be back.

It's a nice environment, probably the nicest that you can get in same-day in Nashville. This is one of my favorite massage spas in the metro area and I have tried many. They have a male therapist, I don't know his name, and he's very strong and can go deep. I only had to ask him to go softer one time, but mostly very good, and very professional the whole time. The owner is usually there and takes a strong interest in making sure everything is perfect.

I have been coming to Sensation for a few months now and have never left in any way other than being totally relaxed. My last trip was the morning after a very long plane ride home. To say I had some kinks to work out would be an understatement. After an hour and a half, I felt like a new man. Sensation Day Spa is not the same since they reopened. The quality of the therapists are mediocre, don’t have full sheets to cover your body when the room is cold, and don’t give you the full time you pay for. I would only recommend this place if you could get therapists that use to work here and how they use to operate. Otherwise would go to Oasis Day Spa for a better experience.

Fay is absolutely incredible! I have never felt more relaxed in my life. I have tension all over my body and she completely relieved it. I am genuinely in awe. She is a fantastic massage therapist - very professional and super friendly and thoughtful. She knows her stuff too! I highly recommend Fay to everyone ! I know I will be booking with her again very soon!

I received an amazing massage at Sensation Day Spa today. I went in feeling stressed, tight and unwell and left feeling fantastic. It may not be a super fancy and glamorous spa, but the quality of the massage was exceptional. The environment was calming and clean and the masseuse was kind and professional. My partner and I had a 60 minute couple’s massage with Andy and Amy. I was blown away by his skill. He used enormous strength and pressure on every muscle in my body, he didn’t miss a single spot. You can tell he has done a great deal of study to perfect his art. My partner also loved her massage. We would highly recommend them both!

you have to book through Varago but when you check on Varago it doesnt display your appointment time and where... make sure you screenshot the confirmation . i called the location to make sure they got it. also.. they gave my mom a massage and she callede 10 to 15 min before her session ended.. so i felt jipped. but she was happy.

The reflexology massages were good, but it is not quiet or relaxing at all. During our 60 minute massage, there was an employee loudly exercising in the room, another watching videos on their phone, and several others talking nearby. I understand it’s a group room but we were the only clients there.
