Hi...I don't post or share feedback and cant remember if I ever did, i think this time I have to. I had bad experience here and the reason is they are willing to charge you without finishing the job or legitimately telling what is the problem. I have BMW 318i and have been twice to diagnose it after having the transmission light on. After 2 scanning done and clearing code first time I came up with this result " we are not specialized in BMW " so why you guys accepted to carry the job !!!!! I already came to them with a previous report and now I have 3 of them, i got charged $88 for what? To tell me we are not specialized in BMW. Adding to that, the second scan I did with them wasn't on the same diagnostic device which obviously made me more confused as I cant compare the codes.I was booked for the Re-scan 2 days ago and when I asked why I am not having the scan on same device, their answer was " oh that one is not available " mate are you serious ? Do you really treat all your customers this way....sorry I am in Auditing & Quality field this is way not right. I would just say if you cant honor a job please don't accept it, i didn't come here for you to print me another paper, I initially came here to fix my car or else I would have gone to BMW specialist to have a report.

My senior mother made a booking after she was quoted a price over Christmas period for an automatic transmission service. However she was made to pay a 25% increase on this quote when collecting her car on completion. She ended up having to borrow the money from my brother who had driven her there as she only had what the owner Peter had initially quoted. His excuse for the extra charge was that there are three speeds or four speeds on her little Mazda and her service was for the latter. But he never made mention of this before even though he had looked up her car when we made the booking. Also he said they spent a little longer time on doing analysis on her car but as an automatic specialist this is your job to know what you are doing and a service should be all inclusive. I had been very clear she was elderly and that I was trying to help her. Really disappointed as this ended up costing the most expensive price over every other quote. She is on a pension and this is a lot of money for her. That's not how to run an honest business. You should always honour your word and your quote.

I have never dealt with a more professional mechanical workshop and I have dealt with some of the largest and the self proclaimed “best” in Sydney and Melbourne. We are currently travelling Australia and were severely let down by a mechanic in Mount Gambier with a clutch replacement completed negligently. Rowell and Searle fit us in, around other already booked in jobs and got our car running as it should be and safe once again. Even noting a collapsed mount that the previous mechanic failed to even mention and ordering the part and installing for us. The ladies working in the office are extremely helpful and very professional. The workshop is fitted with the correct equipment for the job and the mechanics perform the work to a high standard. Peter and his team got us on the road again with confidence. I cannot rate their workmanship or customer service high enough. You really saved our trip! Thank you once again, Allan Family

Don't go here they quoted me 500for a repair , after paying I noticed I had the same problem they refused to either fix it or refund me . So beware go elswhere. Do not trust them. With regards to Rowell and Searles reply to our post their reply is misleading as they suggested they were taking instructions from us which is not the case. Rowell and Searle ran a diagnostic check for $88 and the report come back as the solenoid b being faulty. I was assured by the owner that replacing the solenoid b would definitely fix the issue and was quoted maximum $500. Total amount charged was $588. After paying this amount the problem was still present, so no matter how you look at it,it cost me $588 for nothing. I asked them to put old solenoid back and give me a refund which they refused. It was their diagnosis not mine, which proved to be wrong. After all they did charge me $88 for a diagnostic check.

I had a great feel about the place from the very first phone call. The engine was serviced and the trans. The car runs like a dream now felt like a different car. It’s smoother and without lag. When we picked the car up we met some of the other staff, they were friendly too. Before payment we went through what had been done and some of the limits on worn parts. This is the standard for how to run a vehicle service centre. thanks Peter. We appreciate the effort your staff made to service the Engine and trans.

28/2/2023 4.40 p.m. Who are these people? THEY ARE THE BEST. Starting with a late Friday p.m. telephone call to Adrian - the Parts man to discuss replacing transmission. Brilliant chap. Knowledgeable and very willing to explain options. Kallie and Janine are smooth, knowledgeable and head the friendly office admin. Peter Stewart head of the team is an expert in his trade. Diagnosed the fault, organised an interstate replacement - job done. Rowell and Searle are the best and with the scope and skills to deal with all mechanical problems, they are now in my little black book. My Thanks to them all. ‍♀️

As soon as I drove in I felt comfortable and confident that my vehicle was in good hands. As a fussy owner I received outstanding service and all of my questions have been answered , the details of all work that has been completed was explained. When you enter the workshop you will see a lot of transmissions, you can not have all of those transmissions without a true understanding of how they work. I rate this business highly and I'll now be bring all of my vehicles here and they do much more than transmissions. Thank you. Cars running beautifully.

Thanks to Peter and all the friendly and professional people at Rowell & Searle who did a great job on my steering system on my Porsche 911. Peter, Kalli and their mechanic Brad kept me informed on a daily basis of the progress on this big job, were very patient waiting over a week for me to get a part in from Germany, and always provided time to explain options and recommendations. If you have a car thats like a family member, then take it to these guys, cos they care about you and your car

I had my automatic transmission upgraded on my Landcruiser 200 for heavy towing through hilly country and increased reliability. Peter’s crew installed the Extreme Valve Body upgrade, dual transmission oil cooler and ScanGauge II to monitor the auto’s temperature. I was expecting the shifts to be a bit harsh given the “extreme” name but I was very happily surprised to find it was still very smooth and now hardly ever gets above 60 degrees Celsius. Very happy. Highly recommended.

Thanks for a great job on my BT50. Trans service and valve mod. Trans is shifting better, kicking down to 5th gear when it should and running cooler as well. Normal operating temps are 85 - 90°. After the work trans fluid temps were 70 -75°. Adelaide to Whyalla @ 29° ambient. I am extremely happy with a 15° reduction in fluid temps. Kallie, Peter and their team know their stuff! When my car experienced a clutch problem previously we took the car to the manufacturer for checking but they were unable to locate the source of the problem. R&S performed a thorough diagnostic test, identified the problem and then carried out the necessary repairs. They kept me informed throughout the process with detailed explanations. The staff are friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. Overall a very professional business that offers excellent service.

I recently had an aftermarket transmission cooler fitted to my vehicle from the team at Rowell and Searle. I chose this business mainly due to the many positive reviews they had been given and although I live down south it was well worth the travel, As I recieved great service from booking to completion of the work done. Big thanks to Peter at Rowell and Searle for re-programming a Mitsubishi Evo for us that we delivered to a customer in Adelaide from Perth. The car was presenting as if it required an $8-$10,000 transmission repair however with some careful investigation, honesty and integrity, it was reprogrammed and tested thoroughly for a mere $335. I had my auto rebuilt by the boys at Rowell and Searle, it's been brought up to speck for a LS1 in a Nissan Patrol . They have done a fantastic job with the rebuild and I love driving it. So booked it in for a 10 thousand service for the warranty conditions. Hayden did the service and was really happy how clean the fluid in the transmission was, and it put a smile on his face when he started it.

I took my car in to have the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) serviced, checked etc. It took a few hours as expected , but was done professionally, a good rate, and was presented with a good writeup on the invoice as what was done, and anything to need to watch for in the future. Took my Ranger in for a service and deep transmission oil pan with internal thermostat upgrade now driving from the city to Northern Suburbs car didn't reach above mid 60s where previously it averaged around 88 on the highway and sometimes 90s if I got caught in traffic. Can not recommend highly enough. Will not go anywhere else
