My Girlfriend wanted to experience fine dining for her 28th Birthday. After extensive research we chose Dan Arnold, we considered the 8 course option but ended up taking the 5 course option instead. I really pondered if i should i upload this review or not. I want to make it perfectly clear the waiter staff and the vibe at the restaurant was top notch. The food for the most part was great, if your a fan of this style of food chances are you'll love it. My issue here was dessert. Out came a dessert which looked great on a plate, it even tasted pretty good however the edible flowers had insects in them. At first i didn't believe my partner when she said her food had insects in it, after all how could it were in arguably the best restaurant in Brisbane. After further investigation i confirmed she was correct. i pulled out my phone and recorded the small insect now crawling across my plate (per photo centre screen, it's small) . The head waiter came over and asked how the dish was. I politely as to not make a scene showed the waiter the video i had taken only 30seconds ago. He was shocked, rightfully so. I informed him they were in the flowers discreetly as not to alert the other patrons to what i had found. - It's also worth noting, these same flowers were part of previous dishes. It's entirely possible that this was not an isolated incident. To his credit he did offer to remake the dish which I politely declined. He went back and had a conversation with the chef, we had 1 last item to come out which we hastily ate, got the bill, paid and tipped and left. Whilst leaving, what sticks with the most is the look on the chefs faces, even after i thanked them while walking out. I was made to feel like i was somehow a troublemaker for raising in the most placid, discreet way possible at least 1 of our meals had insects in them. I feel more could have been done to remedy the situation. This wasn't about the cost of the meal. Maybe the head chef could have personally apologised to me whilst walking out instead of giving me that cheeky GTFO look he had on his face. It's because of that look, im posting this review. I have no doubts, this is a top notch restaurant. just check your flowers.

RDA was one of the few fine-dining restaurants that we hadn’t yet had the pleasure of experiencing. Of course, we went for the Carte Blanche ($210 p/p) option so we could experience everything. It was also my birthday, so why not! Having read many fabulous reviews online, it’s fair to say expectations were high.. 2 hours and 4 dishes later we were bitterly disappointed at the halfway point of the experience. The food was presented well, all displayed examples of what appeared to be high-level gastronomy techniques.. unfortunately they just didn’t taste good. The ‘best’ dish was mediocre (artichoke tart) and the worst inedible (scampi). Thankfully, the wine selection was fantastic and the only reason we stayed to that point. When asked by our waiter if we were enjoying the experience we gave quiet, honest feedback as to not draw attention. A small while later the manager came over to follow up (French gentleman).. we relayed the same information and I suggested it might be best to pay for what we have eaten and end the experience there. To which the manager got noticeable annoyed and started insulting us at the table! Firstly, he wanted us to pay for the full experience even though we had only had 4 dishes, then he insisted that the food was all exceptional, to quote “your palates are too basic to enjoy our food”. Shocked, I replied “excuse me…” to which he then said “look around, everyone is enjoying our food except you, so it must be your problem.” This was enough for me, we stood up, paid for the dishes we ate up to that point. Little did the manager know, I had overheard the table next to us had complaining to their waitress about the quality of food and they also had several plates of unfinished items sitting on their table. So clearly, that’s atleast 2 more customers with poorly refined palates… I have never been treated so poorly at any venue, let alone such a highly regarded establishment such as RDA. It makes me wonder whether this was an off night, or whether going to RDA is simply about the status of being able to afford to eat there and not the quality of product and services they offer. Regards, Nick.

As a self-proclaimed foodie, I cannot recommend Restaurant Dan Arnold enough! When dining at Restaurant Dan Arnold, guests can expect a culinary journey like no other. Chef Dan Arnold's creative vision and skillful execution result in dishes that are not only beautiful to look at but also tantalizing to the taste buds. The menu is constantly evolving, featuring seasonal ingredients and unexpected flavor combinations that surprise and delight. Each dish is crafted with care and attention to detail, with a focus on highlighting the natural flavors of the ingredients. In addition to the exceptional cuisine, (including all of the beautiful amuse-bouche, palate cleansers, fresh bread and butter that comes out) guests can also expect impeccable service from the knowledgeable and friendly staff. From recommending the perfect wine pairing to providing detailed descriptions of each dish, the staff at Restaurant Dan Arnold are dedicated to ensuring a memorable dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is also noteworthy, with a sophisticated yet comfortable atmosphere that is perfect for special occasions or romantic dinners. The décor is understated yet elegant, allowing the focus to remain on the food and the overall dining experience. it feels romantic and sophisticated, without feeling stuffy or pretentious. Dining at RDA is a unique and unforgettable experience, where guests can expect to be transported on a culinary journey that stimulates all the senses. After dining here many times now, I can still say that this is still my number 1 degustation restaurant in Brisbane; It's a foodie destination. Tip: * Save some room for the cheese trolley! You won't regret it! * If you had to choose between 3 and 5 course, choose the 5 :) Or choose the next level up, where the Chef chooses for you. * Side street parking, or Uber it in, especially if you want to try some delicious wine!! * Located under the Alex Perry Hotel

Didn’t get to make it to our booked dinner because of their unprofessional service! Booked our anniversary dinner a month in advance advising a severe food allergy and didn’t hear anything from them, however, after everything was confirmed through email, four hours before the meal on the day, a lady from the restaurant rang me and said they just read my note about the allergy and asked if it was okay for us to dine even there was “a little bit of” the allergens in the food preparation! Then, she said then they would charge me $100 cancellation fee because of the POLICY, which I declined, but she kept pushing. Eventually I had to end our conversation as I informed the lady I was driving and I had to stick to my decision to cancel the dinner due to food safety issue and it was unfair to charge me $100 because of their late notice but the lady kept ringing me afterwards and finally confirmed “we won’t charge you cancellation fee then”, where no apology was issued. It is a pity that we didn’t get to try Dan Arnold for our anniversary dinner as we’d been looking forward to that. But given this unpleasant experience with their customer service, I don’t think we ever will, not only do they not understand food safety issues regarding severe allergies, but also so money-focused that all they think about four hours before ruining someone’s anniversary dinner plan is a $100 cancelation fee which they clarified “we change our menu daily and didn’t know if the menu would suit your allergy until the day”, which doesn’t make sense at all.

Restaurant Dan Arnold is a dining destination located in the heart of Brisbane, Australia. I recently had the pleasure of dining at this establishment and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a charming atmosphere. The interior of the restaurant is chic and modern, with a warm color scheme that creates a cozy and inviting ambiance. The open kitchen allows you to watch the chefs in action, which adds to the overall experience. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations for food and wine pairings. The menu at Restaurant Dan Arnold is focused on modern Australian cuisine, with a touch of European influence. The dishes are beautifully presented and full of flavor. The standout for me was the slow-cooked lamb shoulder, which was tender and flavorful. The dessert menu also did not disappoint, with a delectable selection of sweet treats. The wine list at Restaurant Dan Arnold is extensive, with a great selection of Australian and international wines. The staff was able to suggest the perfect pairing for our meal, which really elevated the dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend Restaurant Dan Arnold for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience in Brisbane. The food, service, and ambiance are all top-notch and make for a memorable evening. I look forward to returning to this establishment in the future.

I definitely rate the staff and ambience of this restaurant. However, we had a booking for 8:30pm and when we arrived our table wasn’t ready - so we were seated at the bar and ordered cocktails. No problem I thought, a 5 minute wait….and staff were very apologetic BUT my daughter and I sat while my husband stood behind us at the bar for another 45 MINUTES! We were served amuse bouche and starters while at the bar and the staff were very apologetic as they finally sat us at our table at 9:20pm. Needless to say my husband was tired, hungry and not amused. The food was lovely but by the time we were getting to the end of our meal my family was tired and then were presented with a very sad looking cheese trolley that should have been refreshed before being presented. Finally, when dessert came we were offered complimentary glasses of dessert wine which we accepted but really were too tired to enjoy as it was now 11:30pm. I really think the restaurant could have offered something more as compensation considering how much we spent and for what became a rather marathon event. Not a 5 star experience. UPDATE: After reading this review the restaurant contacted us to apologise and said they were disappointed we didn’t raise our dissatisfaction on the night but we were welcome to come back any time so they could “do better”.

By chance my daughter, who was unable to go, asked us if we wanted her booking. We knew nothing about the place other that it was a 5 start restaurant. We got there early , had a look at the menu and decided on the Carte Blanche $200 7-8 courses. Their top meal. Which means the chef makes all the decisions over the next 3 hours. At first I thought that there was no way I could sit there for 3 hours. But from the very first dish I could taste that we were going to be on a food journey that had to be savored with patience over time. We were not disappointed. What we really liked about the tasty morsels was that the next dish did not imitate the one before. Each was a taste sensation in its own rite. Two things they missed out on in my view. One was the oyster, it was just an oyster. The other was the lamb. Unfortunately it was well undercooked and it was like eating chewing gum. My partner gave hers to me. I did mention it to the wait staff. Speaking of which the entire staff provided excellent service through out the evening. Only other thing you might want to consider is that this is a noisy place and most of the time I could not hear the explanation of the dishes as they were presented. Meaning it made it difficult for a conversation with my partner. All in all 5 stars, well done and believe that $200/ head for the meal was worth the price. Would go back.... in a heartbeat. PS. We left satisfied after 8 courses, not stuffed.

First of all, I want to express that the food was amazing! It was beautifully presented, and the flavors complemented each other perfectly. For us, it truly felt like a culinary journey. However, my main concern was with the customer service. One of our waitresses was quite rude; she didn't allow me to sample a bit of the wine served by the glass. I was torn between choosing rose and red, but she refused to bring me some rose, citing the meat dishes we had ordered. Additionally, she was insistent on pushing the cheese and extra "digestive" drinks. When it came to tips, instead of leaving it for us to decide, she informed us that all the money would go to the chefs, insisting that we show them our gratitude. This made us feel very unwelcome. Another issue was that they accept large group bookings. We had a table of 15 seated next to us, making it impossible to enjoy our meal and conversation due to the loudness of that group. I believe that when you are paying $210 for a degustation and $120 for a bottle of wine, you expect a high level of service and comfort. Unfortunately, Dan Arnold's restaurant did not deliver on these expectations.

Next level food! Worth travelling an hour for. Arguably the finest in Australia. We had food intolerances submitted to the staff 2 weeks in advance, and honestly a huge list of them for my mum. Groan. But they covered everything and gave us the best they could offer....nothing felt second grade. Dan A is a flawless chef, backed by amazing staff. Norbet his head floor waiter and sommelier, is extraordinary, and Romain was attentive and incredibly genuine in his love of the food he serves. This is the place to go when you need that anniversary or birthday meal, or just because you feel like something you can't cook yourself! We chose the 3 course $100 degustation but still got served 10 dishes in total. Every mouthful is unbelievable.. We were so spoilt again. Noone pushes you out of your seat and the ambience of the low level jazz music is just right. You don't fight for anything here...it serves you. And so it should... It's expensive yes. But SO worth every cent. In fact we discussed that we'd pay more if we could please have proper filtered water not Brisbane town water. Only negative I can think of. The menu from Dan is imaginative, ever changing and packs a punch on flavours. We will be back!

Long review sorry: Was extremely excited to try this restaurant as I heard such glowing reviews. The ambience of the restaurant is great and the amuse bouche were amazing. However, some of the mains were a little underwhelming in terms of flavour. But in saying that, there were dishes that were exquisite. My biggest issue was the service. Where do I begin? I had the 5 course set menu (the larger 7 course Carte Blanche says allow up to 3 hours) and it took 3 hours and 35 minutes to get the 5 courses. That is ridiculously long. The waitress could not remember half of the menu and kept having to start over on what things actually were. I ordered the wine pairing and the wines came out after I finished the PAIRED meal twice! And speaking of these wines, the wine pairing for 5 courses was $165 just for the wines which is not cheap… and despite the wines being very nice, I swear I was served 2 large mouthfuls of each… woefully small servings which made me feel utterly ripped off. Basically 35 dollars for 2 mouthfuls of wine x 5. Overall, I probably just had a rare bad experience but honestly - I expected more.

I had the 5 course degustation (experience #5) as part of a conference dinner. There were 5 amuse bouches, they were alright, I like the chicken liver pate the most. The butter for the bread was hard solid, just had the bread on its own. The first course was the biggest sore point of the degustation. The sweet and subtle flavour of the beautiful fillet of scampi was completely overpowered by the Camembert cheese emulsion. All I can taste was the Camembert cheese and nothing else. The dish was much better without the emulsion. Less is more! The untreated miso paste with the diced apple is a weird combination with the raw coral trout, didn’t like it. With that disappointment, the food was getting better and better. The highlight was the chicken and the lamb. They were perfectly cooked, elements on the plate worked and complimented one another. The dessert was surprisingly good as well. IMO, the chefs seem to handle meat better than seafoods. Last point to mention was the portion size and amount of food. I found many degustation offer way too much food, especially the protein. I found this was just right, not overly full nor left hungry.

Wow! An amazing food and dining experience. The decor is modern, sparse and earthy. Lovely wooden tables and comfortable chairs complemented the modern minimalistic cutlery and glassware. The service was very friendly helpful and pleasant. The food... Oh wow. We had the 5 course selection. The care taken in presenting the food on each plate was matched in the tasting experience. No flavours were overdone, no flavours lost.... Everything is balanced beautifully. Each course may appear small but you were definitely well nourished by the end. In between each course we were given extra little treats from the kitchen. I have to say, the duck was THE BEST I have ever had. A nice selection of wine, beer and spirits on hand to choose from. Actually, I cannot point to a dish that did not deliver. Was it expensive? This is not a cheap restaurant, but truly this is NOT an expensive restaurant for the food and service you get. Restaurant Dan Arnold is firmly at the top of my recommendation list as we work our way through the top restaurants in Brisbane.

  • Dr Sami N.

The restaurant offers one of the best degustation menus in town. You can choose from 3, 5 to 8 course menus. We chose the later for our anniversary. Each course was unique, delicious and beautifully presented. If you’re used to having smaller meals, I would recommend to go for 5 courses max, as I personally could barely move after the dinner - although we even skipped the cheese platter. The staff are very friendly and work professionally and quietly. However, I believe a consistent uniform across all staff members would enhance the quality of this restaurant. Moreover, while each one of the waiting staff seemed very competent and knowledgeable, at times we had difficulty understanding them - a bit too low volume and offered too little details. For example, sometimes we found out more details by chance when they took the empty plates back (e.g. about their organic tomatoes that they source from the Sunshine Coast). Anyway, all in all it was a great experience and we would definitely go back. Please see the pictures for reference.

I never thought I’d become the kind of person to publicly compare degustation experiences, but sometimes life takes you in unexpected directions. At $500 for seven small courses, plus amuse bouche, plus wine pairing for two, expectations for RDA must be stratospheric. They were partially met. The numerous small plates were undoubtedly lovingly-crafted, but surprisingly hit-and-miss in terms of flavour. None were bad, but some tended to the bland. Staff were friendly and informative, but occasionally rushed (they would have served literally hundreds of plates that evening). The space had a somewhat standard-issue luxury hotel vibe. The cheese trolley was a nice touch, but alas to partake would have risked an intestinal rupture. It was almost a case of quantity over quality. Overall our evening at RDA had a feeling of slightly wasted potential, accentuated by those eye-watering prices. I had a better time at City Winery in Brisbane for a degustation, or North Room about an hour’s drive south in the Gold Coast.

  • Mat Allan

The food is impressive and the service is amazing. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and our waitress Charline truly made the evening unforgettable. The menu features a range of delicious dishes, each one expertly crafted and bursting with flavor. The set menus change to keep things fresh and new. But what really made the evening special was the service we received from Charline. She was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, helping us navigate the menu and wine pairings. She made us feel welcome and cared for throughout the meal, and her warmth and charm really added to the overall experience. Overall, definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for exceptional food and service in Brisbane. Charline and the rest of the staff truly go above and beyond to make your dining experience a memorable one.

Amazing food, amazing service and amazing ambiance. We had the 5 course ($165) and it was so worth every dollar! Each course was very reasonably portioned. We were surprised with the number of amuse bouche that came with the 5 courses and they did not disappoint. The beef tartare was absolutely divine and the salmon on the cracker melted in my mouth. My favourite is definitely the fish - the skin was crispy but the meat was very delicate and soft. Each component of every dish was very well thought out and complemented each other very well. I’m not a dessert person and usually I would just take a bite just to taste but I finished the dessert - each component was not too sweet and it was just absolutely divine. I could tell the ingredients were very fresh. While the price may deter me from going everyday, I will most definitely come back.

First of all, the food was superb. EDIT: I had previously left a review detailing the experience/service elements I'd expect to be at a higher standard given the price point. Based on this the manager called me and we had a genuine, honest, not at all hostile conversation about the experience element, which I appreciate more than I can say. I stand by my previous review (I waited 2 days to write it to reflect on the experience) but I have edited this review to remove the detail. What I will now say is that the whilst the experience is absolutely not as frictionless as I'd expect at this price point, I understand there are constraints on the lease impacting portions of it. Anyway, as I said - the food is incredible, and I'm hopeful that perhaps we fell between the cracks the night we were there, although this wouldn’t explain some of the larger experience issues relating to acoustics, fit out etc.

Upclass French Resto, worth the try. France meet Japan. Bite size and fingers food. $100 pp but OMG!!! My hubby and I bought the smallest one $100pp and we are struggeling to finish it. Last 2 meal was so hard, but we managed and finished them. While writing this review, i am in a food coma so excuse me if I write some gibberish. Pinor Noir recommended by Manager was too die for and love that bite size so i can try diff kind of food. Wish, we could order one for 2 ppl then i can try $200 pp one & can definitely finish it together with hubby. Staff are friendly, place is nice and clean. I have been trying to find good French food as there not many that i like. This one is good. I love this place. Recommended place to go. There is one dish that i forgot to take photo of as i get too excited to eat them.

We came for our end of year function, and the restaurant and staff were attentive to every course, every glass, and every dietary requirement ✨ We indulged in the experience #5 degustation, which left everyone satiated. The red wines were divine, and the dessert wine was very sweet but paired well with the mango finale. The standouts were the starters, delicate but flavourful, the lamb and trout, and the presentation of the lobster. The five experiences were: lobster, watermelon, karkalla, white ponzu ben’s coral trout, tomato, nasturtium duck, potato, frickle, kale lamb, bulgar, eggplant, muhammara mango, kalamansi, coconut, curry leaf This is the perfect venue for a special night!

I believe Restaurant Dan Arnold is underrated because it’s been the best dining experience in Brisbane so far. We live less than 500m away from this gem and walk/drive past everyday and have never noticed it. How have we been missing such an incredible restaurant??? So glad it came on our radar recently and decided to go here for my birthday. The decor is minimalistic chic, the staff are super friendly and welcoming and the food is EXCELLENT. It’s fine dining without the snobbery and fanfare which is so lovely. The staff here know true customer service. One of our waitresses realized the wrong cutlery had been set for our first course (we didn’t even notice) and came over and changed it very fast. Glasses were never empty. For sure the best fine dining we’ve had in Brisbane to date. Well done team!

As good as I have had anywhere! Dan Arnold's restaurant is flawless. The food is incredible. We splashed out on the Carte Blanche menu - it is not cheap but felt it was incredible value for money. It was generous and delicous. Dan's kitchen puts out some remarkable food. The service was fantastic - great wines, and a cheese trolley to match! The tables are laid out spaciously and there is not a bad table in the place. Perfect for intimate nights out and talking. I have booked again for my next Brisbane visit! Have been several times now - and every time has blown me away. Definitely recommend the premium matching wines if you can afford it. Norbert selects the wines expertly an is never stingy with the pour! I do not thing I have had more consistently perfect food anywhwere in the world.

Hurrah, fine dining is alive and well in Brisbane. Yes it is expensive but worth it. The dishes were beautiful and they don't do Michelin stars here but I would say this is a solid 2 stars. The fish dish was probably the best fish dish I have had all year so far. The pork was so tender and flavourful (words don't do it justice) The blood orange sorbet with a hint of aniseed was amazing (and I am not a big fan of aniseed). Everything was really lovely and the staff were super attentive and friendly. I would strongly recommend everyone save a little and go. We did the chef selection and he selected very well. Bravo to the taste profiles and presentation.

Have been wanting to try RDA for years. Such an excellent experience so much food and left very happy. The brownie with miso caramel was a highlight, so was the scallop dish. ❤️ Service was attentive and friendly. Really want to know what the pink cheese was so I can try and find it :) Would of been a nice added touch to give a copy of the menu of the night Was slightly warm where we sat near the kitchen, but that may have been the kitchen heat lamps, but it was worth it to watch the chefs work. Would definitely visit again for a special occasion.

This place is fantastic We had the $210 chef choice degustation - Carte Blanche. This is the best degustation we have had in Brisbane in a long time. We visit lots of different restaurants every month to have their tasting/degustations and this has been the most memorable of late. The service was very attentive and fully catered to nut allergy on the table. The food was sensationally prepared and tasting and we were so full, great value for money also. Absolutely delectable that I am considering going back again next week! You must give this a go.

Thanks RDA staff! From beginning to end, we loved the experience and we walked out with memories that will last us a long time. 5 Stars for the food, ambience and service! The 5 course degust came with a generous number of amuse-bouches which tickled the taste buds in anticipation for the 5 courses. (We were left so pleasantly surprised that the dessert (1 of the 5 courses) was also broken up into 2 parts. The dishes were of the highest quality, however the element that made the night so enjoyable was the relaxed yet professional service of the staff. It felt like all the patrons were able to relax and enjoy the experience as opposed to other degustations that sometimes feel a bit more pretentious. Highly recommend RDA for a memorable evening!

Couldn't fault the food, service and ambience. My husband mentioned that it felt like we were somewhere in Europe. Very upscale but also unpretentious and welcoming. We had Carte Blanche and left all the decisions to the chef who executed well. My favourites were the Amuse Bouche (I love that it was inventive, playful and made us very excited about the dinner that was to come), the carrot two-ways (explained more intricately by the servers and the play on flavours and textures was sensational), the coral trout and wagyu. They had a wide selection of wines and spirits and cheeses, too. The dessert was perfectly nice and light after that satisfying journey of flavours. Highly recommend. Best degustation in Australia by far.

Outstanding service and food, one of the best restuarants I have visited in my life. Comparatively to other restuarants of similar calibre it is slightly on the expensive side, dinner for 2 with a wine pairing can stretch into the ~$800 realm for the most expensive course. Each course is exciting and nothing like anything I had eaten before, expertly explained and delivered perfectly on time. Each pairing was outstanding and complemented the food perfectly, with each and every wait staff being able to answer any questions about the food and wine. Walked away very happy to recommend to anyone that can afford it.

My partner and I went for dinner on Saturday and OMG, what a beautiful experience, we chose the 5 courses degustation menu with matching wines, but we got much more than 5 dishes including the mise and bouche, pre dessert and sweet treats after the meal. Everything was so tasty, you can feel the work, energy and thought in every plate, this is from far our best dinner in Brisbane. The wine were perfectly paired with each dishes, service impeccable and friendly and we even had the chef coming out to bring some of our dish and explained it to us, which made it even more special. We will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff for this very special evening

Not just a restaurant, it's an experience! The best food wine and service in a relaxed but classy atmosphere. Catered for allergies magnificently and picked up on celebration without being told. We are all going back and back and back! Huge amount of work planning and preparing the menu. Well deserving of Brisbane's Best Restaurant. Superb!

Really paid special care to my allergy, even though others at table were able to consune, all kept clear of me and therefore had no reactions. Thank you!

Food was amazing where they accommodated to my pregnant wife's dietary requirements. We sat at the bar where the bar tender had lots of interesting stories to share as well as his creative pursuits in different cocktail designs. The layout of the restaurant was perfect in that it wasn't too noisy or cramped. Highly recommend trying out the different cocktails and the lamb, coral trout and mango deserts were mouth watering from the set menu.

We had booked this reservation two months in advance with great anticipation, but unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. The lamb was excessively oily, and the beef was undercooked, even though they failed to inquire about our preferred level of doneness. All the dishes were salty, and to make matters worse, they suggested we try the cheese without informing us of the price. There was an excessive amount of upselling, particularly with truffles and cheese. No recommended.

Being greeted and the door opened for you is how your experience starts at Dan Arnold, the exemplary service continued through the night. Now to the real star of the evening, food. Presentation was on point and taste was exquisite, my only suggestion would be to either increase the course count or make the dishes ever so slightly larger. Thank you for the incredible meal and service. Update dined here again in 2023, and I can hardly believe it's even better than the last visit, way to set the bar for fine dining in Australia. Thank you all for an amazing night

We visited RDA for my partner's birthday and had the 5-course meal experience. It was a journey of many different taste buds - from the amuse-bouches to desserts. The flavour and spices feel so familiar yet so unique. Eg. the chicken leek pie tasted like chicken leek pie yet the textures and layering are different. Or the tomato amuse-bouche contains some sort of faimilar spices yet so hard to pinpoint. I don't have a sweet tooth, so desserts unfortunately a little too sweet for me. Staff was generous to light a candle on my partner's dessert. Attached photos are some of my absolute favourites from the night.

Captivating fusion of Australian culinary influences and French techniques, with a delightful blend of flavors and traditions. The dedication to combining modern Australian cooking with the finesse acquired from French culinary expertise is evident in their approach. The promise of a culinary journey through Australian flavors and techniques, shaped by Dan's learnings in France, hints at an enticing and unique dining adventure.

We were lucky enough to get a table at RDA, it was like winning the food lottery. We chose the #5 set menu and were wowed with each and every course and blown away with the extras. This was our BEST dining experience in recent years. I can unreservedly recommend RDA to any "foodie".

We were the lucky recipients of a gift voucher on our first, but hopefully not our last, visit to this wonderful restaurant. We chose the $100 three course menu and then spent a delightful 3 hours having three courses plus many other scrumptious add ons. Every one was a taste sensation...amuse bouche, pre desert, petit fours and more. Every morcel was explained by friendly and attentive waiters eager to ensure we had a lovely experience. A delightful night out !

Incredible...an experience of a lifetime. The food and the service are Michelin Star standard. From the Head Chefs interaction with the guests, the attention of the Manager and the waitstaff, this was one night out we will never forget. AND the food is just exceptionally good, choreographed perfectly with the matching wine list. RDA is right up there with the best in Australia, if not the best!!

The best dining out experience I have ever had ! Friendly, attentive staff were eager to cater to our every wish. We chose the 3 course dining experience and what an experience it was! Aside from our three courses of delectable food we were plied with a series of tasty extras - tiny one bite savouries, delicate “amuse bouche”, fresh breads paired with flavoured butters, pre-dessert and petit fours all added to a wonderful evening out.

Amazing food, up there with the best I’ve ever tried! Service was exceptional. Atmosphere is something I almost want to send an email to Dan Arnold about….the acoustics make it incredibly difficult to hear people at your table. Padded ceiling or padded poles would have really made a difference to the conversation. Also the tables are large which makes it hard to hear each other.

We attend Restaurant Dan Arnold on Saturday night 25/11 for a birthday celebration. The Experience #5 degustation with amuse bouche was amazing. We started at 6pm, and the courses last until 9pm, as we savoured the experience by every bite. Each dish was extremely well thought out creatively, and absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend for special occasions.

We’ve just finished 3 weeks in Japan and Byron .. came through Brisbane before flying home to NZ. Food has been a highlight all the way and our ‘last supper’ at Dan Arnold was right up there. We had the $110 degustation menu and it was perfect.. they gave us lots of extras and every dish was a delight .. perfectly balanced. We’ve spent quite a bit of time in France over the years and love the food there but this topped them all and the people were lovely too.. they deserve there 5 star rating

Had such an amazing experience here at Restaurant Dan Arnold! The food was incredibly special along with the wine pairings, it was a truly memorable dinner. Fine dining and one of the best restaurants in Australia at the moment. Above all else, the floor staff were incredible. Happy, energetic and friendly, they made the delicious food into a memorable moment. Highly recommend, menu changes with the seasons, so go at least 4 times a year

Exceptional experience indeed. We only ordered the 3 course because we are not super starving. But they has prepared entrees, pre dessert and post dessert for us. Had an amazing time for a special occasion. Price is great for the value. Cannot say we enjoy every dish because it was a new and different kinds of food. but it was a new experience with dedication. We did book 60 days in advance but still got a bar seat which was alittle disappointing. But overall had a great time.

  • Timothy Vogrin

Easily the best restaurant in Brisbane. The food was absolutely amazing. Like some other reviews, you do have a little bit of a wait between dishes, but you’re paying for the experience of a fine dining restaurant. It takes time to make a good dish great. And that’s exactly what they did with every dish we ate. 100% recommend this restaurant.

Went to this place for great food and wine after a dreadful day. Unfortunately one person couldn't make it as a result of the bad day. Dan Arnold made it worse by insisting on a "No show" charge. It would have been lots of good food, wine and cheer but turned awkward. Lack of compassion. Food was good but could have been a great experience all round. Lost opportunity and now lost customers. People should be treated better than that!

So many wonderful and interesting tastes and very well put together for almost all the courses. We loved the five course $150. There were so many extra dishes thrown in which gave such varied tastes. Restaurant Dan Arnold in my opinion is the best restaurant in Brisbane. We went with the Carte Blanche and it didn't disappoint. The food was sensational and the service was extremely good. I cannot complain about the food. It was delicious. I have 'experience number 5' which was fresh and delicious and the right amount of food. I didn't have the additional cheese however. Why didn't give the restaurant 5 stars is because the serving staff were that proactive with getting new drinks orders as well as filling up your water glass when they are empty.

Everything about RDA - perfection. Service was exceptional. The degustation was absolutely satisfying and wonderfully delicious. It was worth every dollar. Overall, an amazing memorable experience. ❤️ My only critique though.. the comfort of the chairs. Our legs felt pretty cramped near to the end of our meals oh well, it was worth it anyway.

  • Rhys Mellon

The food was good; it is beautifully presented and had harmonious flavours. The staff were incredibly attentive, maybe a little cold though. The dining room is basic in appearance. I would probably not recommend for vegetarians/vegans as there is no dedicated menu for them so omissions, and replacements of main proteins could be an issue.

  • Margaret Knight

Wonderful, innovative five course degustation with many other little bites in between, presented so beautifully and tasted amazing leaving us quite full. Sitting at the bar because the restaurant tables were full, was comfortable and we got to talk to the bar staff who were so friendly and knowledgeable (as are all the staff). Must try.
