Decided to pop in for lunch whilst in town from Melbourne on business. The moment I entered I was immediately greeted with a smile and friendly hospitality. I was in need of a light lunch (and cheeky beverage) and decided to order the Kilpatrick oysters to start and paired with the Tassy sparkling rose. WOW! What a killer combo and talk about nailing the oysters. I decided to order the crab pasta which sounded exceptional. The extremely attentive and passionate Warren didn't need to do much to convince me. Great portion size, flavours and pasta was cooked perfectly. Just when I thought I had no more stomach space, I remembered that the stomach has a separate compartment for desert. Warren was extremely mindful that I had an upcoming dinner not 'too far' away, and mentioned the strawberry panna cotta. What a desert. Fresh, strawberries, blueberries and such a light and perfectly made panna cotta. Up there with the best, as were the Kilpatrick oysters. Arrived 15 minutes early for our booking thinking we could have a drink before our meal - instead we were informed that the 2 hour clock for our booking was going to start from our arrival (I double checked to confirm the host didn’t mean 2 hours from our booking time - and no she confirmed it was starting from our early arrival). We were in a corner which has zero air flow and we started feeling over-heated as more and more people started sitting down. There were ridiculously loud bagpipes playing and even after it finally stopped, it’s a noisy place. We were celebrating a birthday but between the acoustics and heat, this place was not a vibe and so we stuck with just a main course. Also a note for anyone booking online, the city cat terminal is right in front of Massimo, so there isn’t river views. The food we tried was good. I had an eye fillet with mushroom sauce, and a side of cos salad. The meat was cooked perfectly and while the salad was simple it worked really nicely.

Massimo’s exquisite menu features fresh, house-made pasta and focaccia alongside ocean-caught seafood and farm fresh meat. We enjoyed a 2 hour beverage package accompanied with Massimo’s Bottomless Lunch Menu. For the entrées, the house bread was fluffy with a soft interior and nicely paired with the tomato dip & the calamari was light! However, the kingfish had a strange texture unlike normally ceviche’s & didn’t taste very fresh. Nonetheless, the mains were all delicious! The lamb and truffle risotto was divine and the eggplant parmigiana was mouth-wateringly enjoyable. And just when we thought all the food had been brought out, the prawn pasta and the chicken were served… they were AMAZING! The prawns were perfectly cooked and the chicken was beautifully tender and juicy. The house donut filled w/ nutella and pistachio cream was a nice end to the lunch. Overall, it was great value for money as the majority of the dishes were great and you definitely won’t leave hungry!

I first went to Massimo‘s not long after it first opened and had lunch there on Good Friday. Since then I have been many many times over the years and I have to say the menu and food has got better and better. The staff are amazing and very helpful and attentive and the booths have been updated and the restaurant looks fabulous…I highly recommend Massimo’s to anyone that has never been before as I took a friend who had never been and he cannot stop talking about it. Great food and compliments to the chefs and big thank you to the staff for making our lunch an amazing experience with food and wine. I shall be back. Thanks again. Donna Bunting

I wasn't impressed with the food at all. The mussels were tasteless and the huge portion was off putting Also I've always been told to discard the closed mussels as these can be the ones that cause one from getting sick The closed mussels should have been discarded by the kitchen before coming to the table. The service was good but while on holiday in Australia, I haven't had bad service. Australia offers really good service. The atmosphere was one of a busy restaurant but it gave me a feeling of not being very clean. I always judge the cleanliness of a restaurant by their bathrooms and the bathrooms looked unclean and neglected. I definitely won't be visiting this restaurant again.

Went to Massimo Restaurant & Bar for dinner the other night. Didn’t really know what to expect from this place. The restaurant itself is really nice, easy to get to in the city and you can kinda keep to yourself in the restaurant. Staff and service was great and quick. The food was interesting and very different from places I have been before. We had a number of entries and then a main to share and that was a good for the two of us. All food was very tasty. The only thing for me is the price point for this type of food, size and quality is just high. Apart from that, would recommend.

Went there for my birthday. Vibe was fantastic, loved the atmosphere however food wasn’t that good as how pricey it was. Chips and other potato dish was way too salty. Steak was cooked nicely however was a bit pricy for just 2 little pieces, no sides except for a sauce. To be honest i would definitely recommend this place and would visit again to try something else :) On the positive side when i mentioned server about the salty chips and other potato chips she made mock-tail drink as complimentary which was a good gesture.

We had the best time at Massimo Restaurant for dinner. The ambience is lovely with the riverside setting and peach-toned interior. Our waiter Daniel was attentive and kind with unequaled attention to detail. We chose a set menu and the food was abundant and delicious. How do they make something as simple as a tomato dip so moreish? The mushroom risotto (under a bed of tender lamb chops) is probably the best risotto I’ve ever tasted. We finished with a trio of dessert and the tiramisu ended the night on a high.

I loved everything about this place - the waterfront views, the ambience, the food of course, and the service was impeccable! Everything was delicious... I especially loved the scallops - cooked perfectly and the generous amount of toasted crumbs made it spectacular. The pork was absolutely beautiful - meat was tender and seasoned perfectly. The spaghetti meatballs far exceeded my expectations - the meatballs were some of the best I've ever had. Super happy with everything!

Had a lovely Anniversary dinner at Massimo. As it was our first time, we ordered the $98 Banquet which had a wide selection of the menu. Food was very good, service was quick and David our waiter was excellent. My favourite was the meatballs, hubby loved the crab cavatelli and Tiramisu, but it was all delicious. Only 4 stars for atmosphere as it was a little bit noisy, and although I like people watching, being right outside the ferry terminal was a drawback.

We frequently visit Massimo and the food, service and atmosphere are wonderful. Pretty and Jordan are very attentive waitresses and always go above and beyond to look after us. The food is delicious and great value for money. The view is phenomenal. My second time dinig at Massimo, this time I was in the bar area. However it felt like a full service experience. Jordan provided a high class service and gave excellent recommendation on food. The food was exquisite (again). The location whilst a little obstructed by the ferry dock still provides a great view of the river and an excellent location to enjoy a drink and eat h the movements of the city.

Fabulous experience here. $50 early bird special is not only great value for money but so delicious too, in fact there's ample food and you don't really need the spaghetti and meatballs. Great location on the Brisbane River with variety of fresh food and seafood. They eye fillet is a good recommendation with any side and sauce. Everything is perfect for a Tuesday night out . Services and the ambiance are great. The most important thing is the chef there knows how to cook! Yes very simple but not every restaurant understand it! We love every dish we ordered. Especially the steak and entree (lamp and grilled octopus) dessert is alright.
