Platypus refused to process a return for rollerskates purchased online using Paypal solely based on their Brisbane CBD store staff's advice regarding sizing and guaranteed in-store exchanges. Platypus advised that we would need to purchase a pair of Impala Rollerskates online as they did not have stock in Brisbane. Their staff advised regarding skate size, and assured me that the skates could easily be exchanged or refunded in store if they did not fit.The skates arrived, were too small, and were taken to Platypus's Garden City store where I was told that they could not be exchanged because I used Paypal. I then followed their online returns process, which I discovered requires that I pay return postage for the skates. That was unsatisfactory as I'd already paid freight on shoes that don't fit based on their company's advice. Michael then Meagan in Platypus's returns department then refused to process the return based on product fatigue occasioned during multiple courier shipments. There's a Paypal dispute in place and a complaint with the Office of Fair Trading in train. I strongly recommend against purchasing from Platypus , particularly online, or taking the advice of the company and its employees at face value.Platypus provided incorrect advice about sizing and returns, created multiple roadblocks to said return, and ultimately dishonoured Paypal consumer protections. Avoid.

(Short, blonde woman with beanie) I went to shop to return my shoes cause of size issue and I bought same shoes different size in platypus. but she started with ‘next time just send to online shop’ not ‘Hi’ or ‘How are you’ I know you will be bothered with inventory management. But that is your business If not personal issue. I was just trying to get a refund at the nearest shop with the advice I got from the online customer center. And Im pretty sure there is nothing wrong with that. And if there is issue with system so we both don’t know what’s going on. You are the one who can help me out. Not just being like a queen and negative about everything. There are people who love to say ‘don’t get frustrating’ but actually they are the only one who is always frustrating. Thank you for your terrible service from the morning.I really don’t understand why she is so rude.. How hard is it to be polite to people? And especially You are doing service work. I don’t get it. That was Really Really worst experience that I ever had.

Staff unfriendly, and we've got the impression that we were disturbing them when asking for a pair of shoes. The staff who finally helped us was very rude and he just wanted to sell a pair of shoes. Moreover when you are actually wearing 39 as a size of shoes they told you that 37 will fit an d that you have to try it absolutely. They are not competent and don't know what they are talking about. Furthermore, all the staff were talking together and we waited 15min for a pair of shoes which was too small. Even when you ask someone to help you they make you understand that you are disturbing a deep conversation about their life. For a shop with expensive shoes I found the service non-existent. You will be sure I won't come back again. Customer, you have better to go to hype, footlocker or even JD, the service will be much more accurate. And the last but not least, you can't even discuss with your friends because of the music which is way to loud. Advice : take some earplugs, and get ready to receive no customer service.

Had the best experience in store. (I don’t know if I’m Spelling this correctly) but Javen (The store manager) delivered some of the best customer service I’ve ever received - and I’ve worked in the customer service sector for 16 years of my life. Never ever have I had such a knowledgeable, friendly and down to earth sales assistant. Not only does he love where he works but you can see he loves his team and bringing up the level of his employees. I asked a lot of questions and was quite a fuss pot and he answered every single one and was happy to do it. I wanna go back - just so I can buy more shoes off that man. Well done guys! 12/10 service. Would recommend.

shoe shopping is not a particularly sensory-friendly experience as an autistic person, and usually the only draw for me to come into platypus is the fact that i know i'll get assisted to make visits quick and easy. however, i wasn't so much as acknowledged today in the 10 minutes i was there. i work in retail myself so i know that these things happen but it did really rattle my confidence, and it's not like platypus is a store where you can really serve yourself given that the majority of sizes are all out the back.

I had a very good experience in this store. Was served by an amazing young person, Zhane who has great youthful vibe combined with really steady respectful values, and... (there’s more!..) amazing product knowledge - you just don’t run into people like him, and he was an amazing professional. Passionate about shoes, friendly, and has good knowledge of old-school ways of tying laces and things like that - what an asset to this business!

Helpfull staff most particularly Harry! Was an absolute legend helping me out, especially when I stuffed my size up on the first visit. Went back the next day Harry was there to the rescue and changed sizes for me without hassle or judgement. Work in the customer service so standards are high. Prices are good but not much of a selection but that's understandable as it's a small store. Nothing like a new pair of shoes. Thanks people.

Great atmosphere within this store... Zhane is a top salesperson who went above and beyond any expectation of what a sales experience should be!! Well done and thank you so much for making the purchase of my new favorite boots so easy, stress free and interesting. Absolutely love my Paladium boots. So comfortable for work and the gym. Can highly recommend shopping in this store, you will not be disappointed!

Disappointing visit! And I love Platypus normally. I purchased yet another pair of Docs… $300 for my birthday for myself. I told her and I thought well, I can buy these same boots anywhere for that price. She told me we’ll give you some discount next time, which was exactly what I was told last time, when I bought my brown docs. My message is don’t offer incentives if they are not real.

Brought 3 pairs of shoes on my visit to Brisbane, great service plenty to choose from cash sale or afterpay, great specials open till 9pm Friday nights open all days of the week great buy for platypus socks they sell lacoste, Nike vans addias many styles many varieties of types and colours to suit everybody. Love this place. Thanks for your help in finding right size and style

i bough a pair of Nike Shes from the store and 4 weeks later they were weraing down on the soles at $180.00 i took them back to the store and was told its just wear and tear ,im now going through Platypuss customer care as i was told by the srore there nothing they could do, after 4 weeks of wear and bad service im not happy with The Brisbane Mall store.

A very long time ago I was in this store and I had a bad experience with the staff. However the other day I thought to try again and I was amazed by the customer service of a girl named Marygold. She was excellent at helping me find shoe sizes and went above and beyond to help me. If this girl worked everyday I would always come into Platypus.

Yes, the shop was clean and organised but service is the one that takes all the stars today. Ethan took the time to help me with the different sizes of the shoes I wanted to try, gave me tips and was able to do that while also helping another customer. Thanks for doing your job and doing it well! That makes a HUGE difference

Saturday night shoe shop open till 7pm how good in the city Brisbane. My shoes fell apart and needed a new pair. Replaced with quality and price. Manager was awesome and knowledgeable.
