Another reviewer claims they had dogs tied up in the back looking scared and she had a bad feeling. Clearly she didn't bother to talk to the owner. All of the animals they "sell" are rescues or animals dropped off by owners who's own dog has had more babies than they wish to keep. They do not run a puppy mill nor do they sell puppy mill dogs. The dogs tied up in the back? They are friendly. I've treated them with biscuits and I've seen them during their first few days, then a few days later after they've had a proper wash and haircut. I made the mistake of thinking one of the dogs was ill treated until I came in one day and saw she had a hair cut and was eagerly awaiting her biscuit from me. She was a rescue that they helped retrain and found her a good home. Don't jump to conclusions without bothering to ask for more information. The owner's father takes the dogs for walks when while they are waiting to find homes. They let some of the neighborhood kids walk the dogs. A younger guy who works there raises championship pit bulls. Not fighting dogs. But dog show dogs. I've spent a lot of time in this store. I've watched people drop off dogs and cats. And be grateful that Felix is often able to find the animal a good home within a week. The new owners are people who live in the neighborhood who come back and shop for their pets at the store. These are trendy bushwick living animal rights people taking in these animals. I recently found a stray and the owner offered to help put up a notice to find it a home. I used to buy my cat food here and go play with the store pets. The only reason I stopped going was because I moved. Yeah, and I lived in the neighborhood before this pet store opened and remember when it was a broken down shop for pigeons so I know what the neighborhood has been through. The people who run the store have lived there long before the neighborhood was called Bushwick. Some 20-30 years.

Felix is THE GUY. I have a pet frog and have been coming by for the last 5 years to purchase crickets. I only buy by the dozen so I’m by once a week and he doesn’t mind selling *not* in bulk. The only other place in Bk with crickets is Petsmart, and Felix is not only closer to me but the crickets are always cheaper, healthier and live longer. And it feels better to stop by a family owned business. He also gives lots of advice on things for my cat, which have been hugely beneficial. As always, with a smile and a joke. When I’m out of town he’s so kind to me friends who come by for crickets. One of my fav businesses to have found in Brooklyn, and Felix is a picture perfect business owner :D

Love this place! They have everything you would need and more. Perfect one stop shop for all types of pets. They stock name brand options reliably and have never been out of my dogs food. They also have live feeder insects and supplies for invert/ reptile owners. Staff is amazing and so friendly and helpful. Bonus points for the cute store cats. Always a great time. If you are looking for the right neighborhood pet supply store this is THE ONE. Great prices and a great vibe couldn’t ask for more.

I recommend this pet store over any other pet store. Unfortunately I’ve moved very far away and can’t come here anymore. The owner has a genuine interest in every pet and pet owner that walks through his door. One time I needed to buy potty bags and didn’t realize his store was not yet opened as I was a little too early. The neighbor above called the owner and he arrived very shortly. Please due come by and support. Wether it’s treats, doggy bags, leashes or collars, he has it all.

The best pet store! Great prices (half the price of the store on knickerbocker) and amazing customer service. Felix is always friendly, helpful, and has a great sense of humor. He answers all my questions about my snake, gives great advice, and even gave me a free replacement heating bulb when mine went out after 2 months (bulb was a lemon). Such a great neighborhood vibe and, I never thought I’d say this, but he makes picking up frozen mice a fun experience. This is the spot!!

Once I discovered this place I never looked back. It is a staple in this neighborhood for anyone looking for quality products and service. The creatures I keep are considered exotic/speciality, but I have always been able to find the supplies that I need at Pet NV (unlike many of the typical pet shops/large chain stores). The folks here are not only knowledgeable, but patient, kind, and extremely helpful. It is always a pleasure to shop there. Thank you Pet NV!

Went in sometime this week to check out their stock and didn't find exactly what I was looking for, but my only remark is that the store doesn't require masks worn by customers or the owner. It's a small space so it's hard to not stand next to someone to be socially distant. The store itself is lovely and in due time I will be returning when the COVID19 climate dwindles down, but for now, I will have to wait.

One of our fav local nyc pet stores, period. Our corgi 100% prefers the bully sticks from here, for whatever reason, and they somehow last longer than any others from other shops. Best price in the neighborhood for them, too boot, so it’s a no brainer. But on top of that, I always love coming here. The owner is so nice. There’s beautiful kitties to say hello to. What’s not to love.

I Love this store for a couple of reasons. 1. The owner is a wonderful person and gives the best customer service ever. 2. They have a big variety of everything and all brands, so you can always find what you need. 3. After comparing the prices with other store around this area, 100% the prices are unbelievably comfortable

I went here for the first time today for a dog backpack. Felix was very helpful and friendly. He even helped with setting it up and getting my fussy pup inside. Felix truly cares about his customers and their furry friends. Also they had two cats roaming around the store, so cute. Thanks again for everything!

This is the best pet store! The owner goes above and beyond to make sure his customers and their pets get what they need. We recently went in for a life jacket and he found the perfect one! They have all sorts of fun treats and great customer service. Amazon isn't getting anymore business for my pet needs.

My favorite pet store in Ridgewood/Bushwick. The owner is a very caring and knowledgeable person, has given me a lot of food related advice when my kitten had parasites then later constipation. The prices are more than reasonable, some are better than on Chewy!

I gave my pet snake away yesterday and I don’t know what I’m sadder about. No longer having a snake or no longer having a reason to come here. One of the most personable pet stores I’ve ever been to, there’s a lot of love here and it shows.

IF i could give this place 10 stars then I would! The gentleman there helped me when I was there for kitten milk and gave me some great tips he was a huge help I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone with pets!

I've been going to this pet store for many years. Very cool owner, staff. Nice selection of foods and animal products. All types of bird food's. Very good pet store. Also he's like the only one in the neighborhood. Lol

Just got a new pup, great location in Bushwick, one of two awesome spots in Bushwick. This one is bigger with more variety. Great young man, with great energy and knowledge of dogs.

I get my Betta fish food from here as well as other items. They are very knowledgeable and been a staple in the neighborhood for more than 25 years. Awesome customer service too
