Liquor store
"Extremely rude manager/ whoever the ugly old Indian uncle is"
"The prices at this store are EGREGIOUS"
"I was running late getting home from work and looking for place to stop that was still open for a nice potato vodka"
"As many have stated before: secretive price gouging at its finest! They don't post prices on their items and there is a reason for that"
"They are crooks! They don’t label a lot of their alcohol! We asked the price of a specific bourbon ! The salesman said $35! My husband even mentioned that was a good price! He bought six bottles! they ended up charging him $350 a bottle instead of $35"
Extremely rude manager/ whoever the ugly old Indian uncle is. Im a payin customer and he’s rushin me out out the store, not to mention he’s price gouging. While unprofessional, it’s pretty typical for these old Indian uncles to misplace anger, since their stuck with their wife who’s gotten fat and spends all his money. Personal stuff aside, it seems as though he has made some agreement with local drug dealers who are always blocking the door makin the experience horrible, But they would come in asking all the customers if they wanted drugs and the sale of said drugs is going on in the store with the manager aware of it cuz a watched a deal right in the checkout line The police have been notified. Please be nicer to your customers, stop allowing the sale of illegal drugs, and all will be ok. “Customers” will be checking in to see the changes. I really do not want to have to text my friend with the IRS to escalate Form 3949-A to his higher ups, among others
The prices at this store are EGREGIOUS. They are so high and disparate from all the other liquor stores in the area that I question what's really going on here. For example, they are asking $70 for a bottle of Weller Special Reserve that is available for $26 at a myriad of stores within a 2 mile radius. They post pictures of Pappy to entice customers to come into their store, but their price ($8,000 for a bottle that has a MSRP of $200) shows they have no intention of actually selling it. It's not just their bourbons; all the liquors are priced 200%-400% higher than all other stores in Atlanta. Something is shady here. You'll notice that their 5 star reviews come from reviewers with only 1 review written. I wonder why that is? Red flags everywhere that this business is no good.
I was running late getting home from work and looking for place to stop that was still open for a nice potato vodka. The staff pointed me towards Born and Bred which is a good quality vodka but i gawked at the $50 price tag (for a medium sized bottle especially) they offered me a discount and gave me 10% off at the register. I was still surprised at the price but i was very tired and too nice to back out so i made my purchase and left. Upon reaching my home i looked this brand up out of curiosity and noticed that most liquor stores sell this very bottle at 22-25$ each. So basically i paid double the price for no reason at all. As I was leaving several bums tried to beg alcohol/money off me.... this place is a dump i would avoid it at all costs.
As many have stated before: secretive price gouging at its finest! They don't post prices on their items and there is a reason for that. You will be negatively surprised at checkout if you catch it in time. I wished, I had looked up this store before shopping there. I bought the most expensive beer in decades at this shop. I will make sure that none of my friends and family will ever shop there again. They seem not to clue in that while this crooked behavior brings some bucks into their pockets in the short term, long-term they will be hurting. Put stickers on your items and customers can decide whether or not they want to do business with you. Disgraceful.
They are crooks! They don’t label a lot of their alcohol! We asked the price of a specific bourbon ! The salesman said $35! My husband even mentioned that was a good price! He bought six bottles! they ended up charging him $350 a bottle instead of $35. At check out he told us the total was 220 dollars and did not put a receipt in the bag! We didn’t notice the extra 2,000 until we saw it on our credit card! Bottom line, they added 2,000 dollars to our bill! It was a total set up! We really should have called the police! They are total crooks! I will advise everybody to never patron that store! I don’t know how they sleep at night!
Yup! The reviews are 100% correct! I just ran across the street to see if it was really that bad! Naked Grape 750 ML is the cheapest wine you can get anywhere (usually around $6.00 in the NYC suburbs) and they are selling even that for $16.00! Mirassou is about $9.00 in the NYC suburbs and they are selling it for $26 or $30? I forget because I ran out of there fast! Google says CVS is closed on Sundays but just went there and its open. Beer and wine only.
Extremely poor service. My girlfriend and I were visiting Atlanta for my 21st birthday and I was trying to buy a bottle of wine for the evening. After already charging my card the cashier checked my ID and told me I wasn't of age (which I obviously was as plainly stated on my ID). I had to come back the next day on the way home and it took me 30 minutes as I made the cashier go through his receipts to prove I paid for the bottle. DO NOT COME HERE.
So I was calling a lot of liquor stores searching for a specific type of Rum. I call this store and they say they have it and when I asked for price they say they can't tell me the price - it's their policy that you have to come to the store. Then looking at other reviews, realized it's probably because their merchandise is overpriced so it's somewhat of a trap. Avoid if possible.
PRICE GOUGER ALERT. I had to put five stars to have my review promoted to the top. Do yourself a favor and walk an extra block you will find the prices are half their prices. I learned the hard way. They have no shame. I offered them the option to refund me or give me part of the difference, and they refused within 15 mins. of my purchase. NO STAR MERCHANT
I was in ATL for a conference and went to the store because it was the one closest and open near my hotel. Had a horrible experience at this store with another customer who randomly started verbally attacking me. Staff just sat there and did nothing about a customer. Be warned about the complacent staff and the type of cliental the store gets.
Beware if paying with cash. Luckily my sister told me to check my change and I was short 10.00. I went back in and he tried to tell me it was correct. It wasn't he gave me the other 10.00 back. Considering the comments on this post....I would just make sure to check it before you leave. Oh yeah, the prices are as ridiculous as everyone says.
extremely over priced. When I walked in to get $40 of scotch, they charged $100. This place has no pricing tags and it seemed like since we were asians they try to rip you off more than others too. Very unwelcoming vibe in a sketchy location. Just because you are paying high rent, it doesn't mean you can rip the customers fxxx off.
They charge a 100% markup (from grocers or other liquor stores). Charged $20 on a 4-pack of tequila & soda that runs for $10 anywhere else. I paid because it was late and I didn’t feel like going out of my way anywhere else. Prices aren’t marked in the coolers so that people are surprised at register but often pay anyway.
It is not disappointing but insulting to look at the prices in this shop. The guy charges well over what is fair for a bottle. Example: Angel's Envy Rye, I can see this bottle for somewhere around 80-100 dollars. This guy wants 249.00 (!!!). The list goes on. It's ridiculous. Save your business for somewhere else.
Great selection and very friendly employees, they helped me find exactly what I was looking for and were very courteous in doing so. The prices were a fair bit higher than I expected, paid about $47 for a bottle of Jack Daniels and a 2L of coke, but I guess most things in the middle of the city would be that way.
Everything is that store is overpriced! I understand being downtown Atlanta but it makes no sense to mark up so high! For what I would have spent 25 to $30 on I end up spending $55! So make sure you go to the outskirts of Atlanta and purchase your beverages before you get to your room or whatever you're going!
Avoid this place at all cost!!! Run the other way. I sent my husband in for a small bottle of bailey's and he got Hennessey and his total was $70. He said there were no prices on anything and he did not know his total until after they took his payment. Its sad and they should be fined. Find another store.
Great spot to swing in and grab a bottle of spirits/wine/beer! I'm in town for just a few days and the gentleman behind the counter helped hook me up with an awesome deal on a nice scotch. Very clean space, friendly staff, and great selection. Definitely stop in if you are staying in the area!
Biggest issue is price: everything is at least $5-$10 more than at a regular liquor store, but I guess you can expect that when it’s so close to the hotels. Second issue is room. Everything is so crammed and takes forever to get in and out when it’s busy when all you want is a quick bottle.
Paid with debit card, didnt pay attention to receipt because we were talking with some friends....checked bank acct today....OVER CHARGED BY 18 DOLLARS!!!! That amount of money wont break my bank, but on top of the absurdity of the already sky high prices....I FEEL RAPED!!!!
This is the 2nd time me going in this same store 1 there is no order in this store looks like they tried and they charge double shame on them they also have people out side begging you to buy them a shot or give them change. I will not be returning to this store PERIOD.
I paid almost $200 for a half-liter of Hennessy, a bottle of Yellow Tail moscato, and ginger ale. I wasn't expecting to pay that much at all. This store is severely overpriced. I'm shocked these prices are legal. On the upside, the owner was very nice and helpful.
Great customer service, nice range of selection and the best thing about them is whether you buy cheap stuff or expensive stuff they treat you the same way. Overall had a great experience shopping here, will try to visit again when I am in Atlanta next time
The location is convenient, but...the booze is way overpriced here. My $12.50 six pack of Victory Golden Monkey was $19.99. Skip it and head to the CVS a couple of blocks away. They only have beer and wine, but you will save (and they are open 24 hours).
Someone please call the ftc and the cops on this guy price gouging. Before I catch him alone outside acting like he can rip people off for a bottle of jack at $43 for a 750ml bottle. God comes for people of greed by being greedy off of their lives.
You should only go here if you are desperate. I have lived in the same building for years and I just happen to be a ticket broker. Many years ago one of the employees said to me, when I expressed my surprise at their incredibly high prices,
Don't buy liquor at this store there's a liquor store 0n the same block that have more reasonable prices. They charge me 15 dollars for a small bottle of Amsterdam vodka. Don't waste your time the liquor store down the block is way better..
Very run down, WAY overpriced. Nothing good about this store. As others mentioned even a basic $12 plastic bottle of anything starts at $30. Everything is 2x, 3x and even 4x over going price. Shop elsewhere until they come back to earth.
This place is garbage. I went in and random liquor and wine bottles are shelved with no price tags anywhere. I grabbed a handle of Tito's which normally runs in the $30s range and the owner running the checkout charged me $59.99. I was
I went here to grab a bottle of red wine. Once I got past the homeless people standing at the door bothering people, I looked at their limited wine selection. There were no prices displayed. I picked out two mediocre wines and went to
Highest prices I have ever paid in my life! I wasn’t paying attention when I paid (lesson learned) otherwise I would have left without making this purchase. It was $54 for a small bottle of Svedka Vodka and a 9 pack of seltzer. …
There are people loitering and panhandling outside and nothing is done. Prices are insane. Double what I pay other places. I've gone twice and will never go back. Not inviting and I would never want a woman in my life to go here.
OVERPRICED! Went in Mothers Day and paid double what every other place paid. Only thing good is they were funny and the girl behind the counter was nice. Prices are insane, but you’re stuck if staying downtown and don’t know!
These employees are hilarious and always greeting .they have deep understanding of what they carry & some potential guidance for new items .if you give them details information about I hope they stock more of the Blanton ..
A nice spot no bums out front begging for change nice location Fernley service a variety of products I felt safe shopping there I intend on going back when I'm in the area! I would recommend this spot for drinking purposes
Good selection. Fridge is not that cold. Overpriced, however everything is overprice downtown. In walking distance if you are in the hotel district of downtown Atlanta. $15 dollar six pack or $6 a bottle from the hotel...
After being lacksidasically pointed to energy drinks that weren't there, my spouse and I turned around and left. Shopping cart of garbage left in the entry way. Awful customer service and terrible cleanliness. (3.28.19)
The store was so clean, the service was outstanding. The prices were pretty decent for downtown, which is usually expensive. They were so nice and helped me gather everything i needed, they were hilarious! i love it!
Spent 5 minutes trying to find what I was looking for with no help from the guy sitting there watching me. Then found out the price of the bottle was at least $10 more than what I would pay in NY. I said no thanks!
Don’t go here. They hike up the prices by double sometime triple for no reason. Why the Jose Cuervo Margarita ready to drink mix cost $26? knowing at other liquor stores they’re under $10. DOUBLE SHOT IS $6.99!!!!
There were no price tags on anything, felt like they citing prices by appearance. Clearly wearing a suit was not the right choice to go there. A homeless man literally was loitering inside asking for handouts.
This store is extremely overpriced. They are 50% more, at least, than any other store in Atlanta. Gouged me $49.00 for bottle of California Pinot Noir, which sells for $19.99 everywhere else. Avoid if possible
Nice, clean and convinrent location. Prices aren't too bad considering it's a downtown location. Has good varieties of scotch and bourbons including some rare finds that I was happy to take off their hands...
Two stars for the good selection only. The prices are outrageous. Since we're staying at a downtown hotel, we don't have much choice, but still..... Shot for shot, buy drinks at a bar & you'll save money
If I could give it a half star it would be more appropriate. There are no "real" ABC stores downtown. Just wanted a bottle of wine. This location, and others by Peachtree center are complete ripoffs.
Would give zero stars if I could. Do NOT buy your alcohol here. The prices are incredibly stupid. My card was charged $51 for a Fifth of Kettle One, which you can buy a few miles away for about $20.
Very professionally run! Extensive selection and the manager even help me make a choice of whiskey when I was wondering around kind of lost. I’m very happy with my new selection. I’ll be back …
This store is terrible price wise. Don’t have much juice. They want 5 bucks for a 2 dollar everfresh. A 20 dollar bottle of henny is 30 bucks. Patron 70, They are taxing more then the irs. Im good
If you're staying at Hilton in downtown ATL(255 courtland Ave NE), this spot is only 2 blocks up the hill at the corner of Baker Street and Peachtree NE. I found it to be pretty reasonably priced.
I was visiting Atlanta last month and decided to stop at this package store. The lady at the checkout was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and respectful while running BOTH cash registers..
Never again. Visiting from Miami. Paid $30 for a half pint of 1800 and lemonade. Oh it’s downtown pricing they said. It’s price gauging is what it is., but it’s ok never ever again …
Very VERY overpriced liquor collection because of the location. Save your money and go about 5 to 10 minutes down the road outside of downtown and you will get your drinks for half the price
Great customer service & selections, including premium and rare finds. Clean & organized. The prices are bit higher but not outrageous like on some reviews... but it’s very convenient!
Prices are easily double and majority of selection has no price tag, which when you ask how much for this bottle of say jack Daniels employee scratches chin and makes a price on spot
Ridiculously expensive. I got a bottle of bailey's for double of what it should have cost. They also don't tell you the price unless you ask for a receipt after you've already paid.
Didn’t read the reviews before going here unfortunately. Otherwise I would’ve known they’re seriously overcharging on drinks that you can get everywhere else for half the price
Greedy Store Owner. Their Prices are way above Secondary. They Have a Weller 12 that retails at $40~ priced at $825. Avoid this place unless you like getting screwed over.
Good liquor store downtown, some stuff is overpriced but if you're willing to look, some are great deals. Got a bottle of silver el charro, priced $63 online, for $26
Great selection of harder to find bourbons. The owner gave me a fair price on my selections (considering they are impossible for me to find at all in my home city!)
Same as the other reviews. 28 dollars for a PINT of bulleit rye. Literally just used drizzly to have a full 750 delivered and it was basically the same price. Avoid
I just went in this POS store. . Dude told me the amount was $13,checked my account and was charged $22. . He's lucky I'm to far out to go back. #THIEVES
Highway robbery here they charge triple the regular price only good thing is they have every size bottle in everything they need to drop the prices tho
$18.99 for a 6-pack of beer that should cost $9.00? I'd happily give you $11.00 or $12.00 since you're in the middle of the city, but give me a break.
When I walked in I was curious why they're weren't any prices on anything. Then I realized it's because they rip you off. Overcharged for everything.
The prices are way over priced. And it’s no returns on items, all sales are final! I’d definitely go out of my way to find a more reasonable store !
They have excellent selection in any kinds of alcohol with higher price I understand it is due to location. It is best store in downtown Atlanta.
Don't go here. You will be better taking an uber to another liquor store. This place is the most expensive liquor place I have ever encountered.
The owner was very helpful with my purchase. They were a bit busy and he made sure to check customers out in a reasonable amount of time.
Great staff, and for a place in Atlanta they have my brand of cigarette, I’m really thankful that they are there and reasonably priced
Oh no this store is too expensive for a $0.99 shot it's $2.98. I went to another liquor store immediately. The prices are outrageous.
For a small store, there was a decent selection and convenient to area hotels. Got beer, wine, other carbonated beverages and liquor
If you don’t care anything about expensive prices and money has no boundaries, and you’re lazy and don’t want to shop the block.
Told me old forester was 200$ for a bottle which is literally more than it would cost by the shot at any bar in Atlanta. Crooks.
The crew is amazing! Fast knowledgeable employees that have the best personalities. Great varitety of product and quick service!
No less than highway robbery. .. at least 200-300% markup. DO NOT shop here unless you like throwing your money away
A great place to get $25 worth of items for $50. It is ade worse by the fact that items do not have price tags. Il
Best selection. Only issue is not enough shelf space. Expect 25% premiums on price but you can find rare choices.
This review is for the employee who was nice and helpful. But prices are high, homeless person at the front
The place had all the spirits and wine you'd want but the crowd outside begging was a negative for me
Decent selection of beer wine sodas and mixers. You'll pay for the convenience. Employees were nice.
I didn’t actually go inside but the people l was with, who actually went inside, had no complaints
Love this store great service and very friendly. Even gave me a bday gift. Check them out yall
She as great customer service and I got in and out quick love this store …
Just get out a little earlier and go literally anywhere else. This bottle is 19.99 at greens.
It's pretty good. I normally don't shop there, but the service was excellent.
They give good customer service. They treat me well and the service was fast
Great selection and they sell decks if playing cards. Bonus points!
doesn’t open on time, says 9:00am but not open. going somewhere else
Kinda sketc, damn pricey. They have all your regulars and cigs.
Charged me $130 for $80 between two bottles. Go someplace else.
The employees are really nice and helpful, highly recommended.
Good selection but the mark up in price was outrageous
Service was terrible And the prices are way to high
Great service. Amazing job from the employees
Nice and clean, extremely high price.
Double the price of any where else!
Great service we love them
Great Customer Service
