I shop occasionally at Olivers and have always loved the store for pet supplies and plants. For Christmas I purchased 3 pots, 3 plants and a bag of potting mix. I returned home and immediately repotted, watered and placed with my other plants. I noticed one of the plants (of which I had purchased 2) was drooping and looking very sad. I left it for about 2 weeks with no success. I returned to Oliver’s to ask for a replacement and was told 1. I had over watered it, my response was I’d only watered it the once. 2. What location in the house was the plant and did I have the air conditioning on as it may be too cold for the plant. 3. This particular plant should only be sprayed with water. 4. The healthy identical plant was of no relevance. 5. Due to the fact that I had ‘over watered’ the plant there was nothing they would do. 6. Unfortunately I won’t be returning to Oliver’s in future 7. I went to Bunnings and purchased a new plant as this company will replace a defective product I gave 2 stars as 2 of my 3 plants I purchased did survive

The animal care at this pet store has always been horrific.. but today was an all time low! Starting with their rabbits and guinea pigs, the cages were filthy. Not only should rabbits not be kept in tanks due to poor ventilation, but they should also been clean. The health of the rabbits was terrible, at the very top of the tanks, there was a rabbit with half its ear ripped off, whether this was from neglect or a fight with another rabbit, it's not good enough. The fish set up is lazy, bare tanks with no live plants or ornaments, not to mention the amount of dead fish. An axolotl was being housed in an extremely dirty plant tank, and the turtles had no plants to eat or ornaments to amuse them, they had nothing but a basking doc. I wouldn't recommend supporting this business where profit is obviously more important than the general health and wellbeing of the animals, its sad to see such laziness causing neglect to innocent animals.

Do they have new owners? Lately it has gone drastically downhill for the following reasons: 1. Birds don’t have any sunlight, dirty cages water etc. 2. Before the rabbits and guinea pigs were in bad conditions but now it is just outrageous, they are cruelly overcrowded and they were bleeding the last time I saw them (apparently the conditions in which they’re kept induces fighting) 3. The fodder packages seem to only contain half of what it used to, they have definitely decided to slash costs wherever possible. 4. Customer service is virtually nonexistent now, even the people behind the counter are unpleasant, possibly due to change in ownership? How terrible must these people be to keep animals in such awful conditions. Foucus solid on profits and the ethics have been thrown out the window!

the way they look after animals makes me wanna cry. everything is just not looked after, the poor budgies can’t fly around, the traumatised rabbits and ginny pigs, no where for them too hide. i want them shut down i don’t care that they sell everything and the staff are friendly the animals deserve way better then what they have i don’t believe it’s even the bare minimum. they can put the bigger birds in cages out the front for people too see but yet they have over 20 budgies in a cage no bigger then the rabbits enclosures. recently brought a ginny pig from there, she’s been there for awhile and the poor darling is so scared of the world and she just hides.

I am the same as Paul. Shop here for years. We bought a couple of what was sold as butterfly tails. They are actually Google eyes. They had a stick looking thing near its eye. Thought it was part of the fish but could not see it when searching. Within days one was getting really sick. I search and search then realised they were sold with a parasite called anchor worm! One had now passed 10 days after purchasing and the other is not well at all. Now treating the tank to try and get rid of the parasite. The aquarium shop does not like the likely hood of number 2 surviving

We brought 4 fantail goldfish on the day of Easter, Two black fantails, one white, and one orange. 8-9 days after all of them besides the orange one had died, I had set up a Aqua One Horizon 182 for them, and properly set up the tank. Now I have the orange fantail in there with a golden commet. When I was looking for the fish I also noticed there was a dead fish in the tank at the time, and several snakes in what it looked to be something a little bigger than what you would put sea monkeys in. Terrible store, horribly bred fish, sick animals. Would NOT reccomend.

Just called because two guinea pigs I bought less than two weeks ago have ear mites. Suggested that they should be treating them when they’ve sold them with ear mites (guinea pigs had slight crust on ears when I bought them but I didn’t realise what it was until now) and the girl on phone just said they spread them twice a week and told me how much the stuff was. How about explaining how they can have this, how to care for them before selling them on. Now I have to spend more money to get them healthy when they weren’t to start with.

Oliver’s should not be allowed to sell animals. Conditions are completely cruel and inhumane - I’ve never seen anything so bad in Australia. Rabbits and Guinea pigs are overcrowded in reptile tanks with no ventilation, no toys, and no enrichment. Birds and fish are kept in equally poor conditions. It baffles me how this business is allowed to carry on with these procedures which are CLEARLY not up to scratch and how workers are completely disinterested in the welfare of their animals.

Garden section looks nice, with a great selection of plants and products. Unfortunately, one Canary needs its nails trimmed asap. Birds kept in non enriching set up with barely any light source / sunlight. Additionally, despite selling various heat lamps at the store, they use red heat lamps for the bearded dragons, which can disrupt thier sleep cycle and could damage their eye sight. Please focus more on care of animals in store.

Won't be returning went in to buy 2 fish no one was around went to counter spoke to the staff member there she said I'll call someone over for you go wait over there where fish are they be there in a minute 10 mins later no one still and all I see is staff standing around one sitting in a corner near the fish some working hardly any customers and 3 staff just chatting behind the counter they obviously didn't want a sale today.

  • Lily Tidswell

I have always love this pet store because it's got everything. It is discusting how they care for there animals though, the fish tanks have sometimes got dead fish in it and it has nothing in there, the birds have just been put in cages with no toys anything, and the rabbits and guinea pigs dont have any room to move. Other than that the staff are pretty friendly.

  • Laura Amee

Every animal I have bought from here has died within months (turtle and 4 fish) yet our other fish we already had are fine. We previously had turtles who lasted many many years yet this baby turtle only lived for a few months. I don't believe it is our treatment which caused this I believe it is just something to do with the store. Unacceptable!

  • Naomi

Friendly, helpful and really affordable quality products. Fantastic if you a looking for something a little different. This shop also had reptile food and other products that maybe useful for the care of fish, birds, snakes and more. Yes, this shop also had a place to wash your fur babies! In store toilet, off street parking available.

  • E s

Helpful & pleasant staff, huge range, better prices than the franchise pet shops I went to whilst looking for the perfect first pet for my son. Maggie went out of her way to help us and kindly wrote up a detailed quote for a bunch of stuff I was looking for and gave me some great advice since I hadn't owned birds since I was a child.

  • Glenn Mackenzie

Great place for pet needs dogs, cats, fish, birds, reptiles chicken , rabbits and chooks. A Friendly knowledgeable staff . Also good range of garden plants and punnets of vegetable and herbs . Bales of hay and bulk buy chicken feed. If you are looking at getting chicken coop and chickens they have everything you need to get started.

  • Gerda Bader

Great ship for all pet supplies. Fodder, pet food, bedding they also sell on bulk. They sell birds, fish, chickens, snakes, lizards, guinea pigs, rabbits, sometimes have stick insects and spiders. Also great garden shop with lots of garden ornaments. Kids live going to Oliver's to see all the pets and animals.

  • Bob Booker

Always friendly helpful staff, pity so much of the plants are not priced, have to pick it up and go in and ask. Poor little birds, a dark stuffy corner, with a fan when it's hot, shouldn't be able to keep birds in that confined area, quite sad to see.Have a look at Emblem Aviaries if you want a healthy bird.

  • Jordana Carbone

Always good here, have a good range of products, rabbits are super cute here they also have fish, turtle, birds, lizards, snakes and fish. Only downside is last time I got fish from here when he opened the lid there was about 10 dead fish just left on the back of the tank lid. That was just one tank.

  • Adam Lee

  • Kara H

Don’t purchase their budgies we have had 3 die within 6 months of purchase and vet said the one put down today was 5 years old! My son is devastated thinking he was buying younger budgies that would live a full life in his care not ones that were old …

  • Michelle Giampaoli

The Black Hawk range was very limited. They didn't have the bigger bag on their shelves. So next time I will go to another Pet Food Store, like Petstock or Petbarn. Sorry guys! My 2 Mini Schnauzers was excited to visit your store, but very disappointed.

  • Kita Pillar

i come here for my rabbit feed and find their prices competitive, their staff helpful and I'm impressed with their range of products. Many pet stores don't stock many boredom busting toys for rabbits, but this place has quite a few options available.

  • nick smith

Purchased a pair of parrots recently, they eventually went to separate homes as they didn't get along. They both lasted less than 6 months and developed similar symptoms before dying. Obviously very poor standard of breeding. Absolute disgrace.......

  • Janet Maloney

The staff are always friendly and willing to help. I have problems with walking so a staff member will always take my purchases to my car. By the way, Olivers currently has a huge sale on up to 40-50% off. Well worth having a look.
