Unbelievable the posts here saying bad stuff about the service at National Pharmacies Glenunga. It's quite the opposite. I am not a member and whenever I can, I shop there as they have many gift options including Glass House candles. Staff are very kind and polite and have a sound knowledge of the products available, including vitamins. They go beyond to help you get what you need if they are out of stock. I worked in pharmacy many years ago and I know how things work. Before you judge and call staff rude, pay attention to your own behaviour and to how you actually speak to people before pointing the finger. Some people wrote here there were charged when they are supposed to be on the free list. Did you let the staff know that? Did you produce your entitlement card when you brought the prescription? Or were you just expecting the staff or pharmacist to read your mind and figure it out? Did you ever think of asking for assistance instead of standing 10 minutes in front of the perfume cabinet hoping that someone will suddenly notice you? no. Then you quickly come here and post that no one bothered to help you. Really? Get a life. People in retail get verbally abused on a daily basis but no one seems to notice that. With Covid, things got much worse. Bunch of selfish people around who only think about themselves and what they want. wake up, it's not all about you. Give these people the respect and appreciation they deserve. I have been to other National Pharmacies branches as well and staff are always friendly and polite, give them a chance before posting this amount of rubbish here.
Wish I could give it zero stars. I came in with a prescription and waiting about 10 minutes before I got served due to the workers talking. I then waited for 30 minutes for them to tell me I would have to come back in a week to pick it up. It is also important to add that there was one other customer in the store at the same time so definitely didn’t need to wait 30 minutes. After all of this I gave them my phone number where I was repeatedly asked and judged for not having a membership at this store. I will quote what the employee said to me “you really don’t have a membership” after I had repeatedly told her no, all of my no’s where meet with eye rolls may I add. After this terrible experience I was just about to take my scrips and go somewhere else but decided to wait. 3 weeks later no call, no text no nothing. I rang up the store to check and they said they forgot to tell me and it was ready. It should not be this much of a hassle to get your script filled. I am completely appalled and will never ever return. I recommend you save your time and dignity and go somewhere else.
I dispensed a repeat script for my daughter's antibiotics here as her ear infection was still as bad as it was 5 days prior when we saw the doc. The pharmacist asked the age and weight of my daughter as she noticed the low dosage on the script so queried what it was for. The doc had never asked us these questions and therefore the prescription was well under-dosed for my daughter's weight and hence her ear ache was still very infected. The pharmacist then went well above and beyond her duties; contacted the doc to clarify and discussed the situation then had another script written by the doc and sent directly to her with the correct dosage of medication per weight for my daughter (more than double the original script) and then dispensed the correct medication for us. Ever so grateful for the diligent attention to detail and above and beyond efforts of the lovely young pharmacist today for correcting the doctors' lack of duty of care and the incorrect prescription originally given. Highly recommended and greatly appreciated!!
The service here is non existent. Staff actively avoid assisting customers. This morning I stood for at least 10 minutes in front of the fragrances. No one offered to help me. I was going to buy some Chanel but just left. There were no other customers and at least 4 staff farting around. When I've shopped here previously I've arrived home to find an item I'd paid for missing from the bag and another time I was overcharged a large sum. This store must be where they send the staff who can't be arsed. You could die in here and they would step over you to go to the lunch room. The exception here is the very nice pharmacist with black hair. If you live in the area and actually want service try the pharmacy on the corner of Ferguson Ave and Fullarton Rd.
Worst pharmacy experience I've had. Dropped a simple script, was told 45 mins which is longer than I've ever heard. I said ok and spent 45 mins keeping busy. Came back, they said it's not ready. He was about to finish convo and let me keep waiting, but I asked how much longer cause I was told 45 mins and it's been that long. He went to check and came back to tell me they don't even have it in stock. And their system is down so they can't even order it, but they can add it to a list to order later. Or, he said I can go somewhere else. I chose the second option.
I hate this pharmacy. I am a GP and am constantly interrogated over my scripts for no reason. I sent a simple amoxycillin syrup script with my husband today and they didn't have the strength (which is ridiculous) and instead of either trying to call me or just changing the strength of exactly the same thing just handed the script back. Have been coming here for convenience, but would rather drive further than deal with this awful place.
The smell as soon as you enter the door with perfumes and incense or oil burners going. Gives me a headache every time l need to go in there. Plus they charge 6.40 for scripts on government card where chemist king down the road charges 5.40. Here and waited 25mins for a script to be filled. Very disgusted especially when there's no-one waiting for script. Having a coffee and laugh the pharmacist is.
It was 8:55 and I run quickly in to grab one cream (kind of emergency for me), after I have entered the store one staff came up to tell me that they close in 5 min and i have to be quick; i was like 'ok' and then second after the pharmacist came and said that they are closing now and i have to find now what im looking for or leave. SO RUDE. I dumped the stuff and left the store.
Always great service and very friendly. Their knowledge of their products is excellent, particularly in the vitamins and supplements area. Sometimes you wait a bit for you prescription to be filled but they have some very comfortable chairs to sit on. Disabled parking places are available right outside their door. All in all a very friendly and relaxing place to shop.
Consistently long waits for prescriptions, even on a quiet Sunday with no other customers in the store and 2 pharmacists on duty, there was still a 20 minute wait for one prescription. Have also twice been given the wrong cream from behind the counter even with the name of the correct cream written on a script and given to staff.
Everytime I pick anything up here from regular medication to a simple inhaler the wait time is 30-45 minutes despite other pharmacies able to do the same in 5-10 minutes, I will be changing to a different pharmacy and unless you have nearly an hour of your day to spend waiting in a pharmacy I suggest you don't come here
National Pharmacies Glenunga have gone above and beyond to help me fill a private script for my son. They have kept me updated each step, and have gone well out of their way to get the medication for us at an extremely reasonable price. I can’t thank them enough for their awesome customer service, empathy and kindness.
Pharmacist told me off when I asked her to check if my doctor had sent a script through and I wasn’t sure when/how it had been sent. I completely understand if they needed more information to check and couldn’t help me, but they were so rude and berated me in a busy shop. So unprofessional!
Ripped off again. Won't be back. Terrible service, rude staff...so slow then charged us for a PBS script that is No Charge as we have reached our PBS Safety Net limit....and they had our card !!! How can they be so stupid ? They did this before...wake up !!! Go anywhere, just not here.
“the wait time is 1/2 hour” was the snappy and unapologetic response when I presented my script for one very simple item. This is on a Tuesday at lunch time. Unfortunately the same happened to me before at this outlet. I have been a member with National Pharmacies. Not good enough.
I don't know how national pharmacies are still in business. Compared to other pharmacies like Terry White and other local pharmacies they charge astronomically plus they won't take Amex surely with these margins they could take Amex. unless Desperate I will go somewhere else
I wish I could give them less than zero. The staff took my scripts said 20 minutes wait time. After 35 minutes of waiting, came back to tell me, we don’t have the injection that your GP prescribed. If you don’t have it, why did you waste my 35 minutes …
I will NEVER shop here again. They are totally unprofessional and rude to customers by completely ignoring them as if they were invisible and providing nothing in the way of assistance. They obviously have no concept of the meaning of customer service.
30 minutes for a simple prescription. Most pharmacies take 5-10 minutes. This pharmacy routinely takes 15-30 minutes. It has been like this for years, clearly National Pharmacies don’t really care about customer service at this location.
It took 40 minutes for my prescription to be filled / for the staff to remember where they put my prescription (1 repeat of 1 type of medicine). I then paid about $40 for a prescription which is usually about half that. Just terrible.
Excellent service with good staff who are friendly, appear to know their stock and are helpful when and if difficulties with prescriptions arise. They perform well with the Med Assist App.
Very good pharmacy, with very personable pharmacists. All staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Great prices for members. Online script ordering is very easy and saves a lot of time
Shocking service. These people are incredibly slow. About 30 Minutes to do a script. Barely anyone in the store. Just living their best life in total slow motion. Avoid
Been a National Pharmacies member for years, waited for 5 minutes to be served and then told cant do the scripts and to come back the next day or goto another branch.
Have my scripts kept here. Relatively helpful. Pay for membership as quite expensive here but have been using this chemist for so long that I feel comfortable here.
Very long waiting time for a prescription, minmum 15-25 min. The pharmacist was unfriendly and would not even speak with me about medicine advice.
Very bad customer service. Short hair lady doesn't know how to greet customer. Never come back again.
Way overpriced and they chemist was rude and lazy never going back
Refused to price match Chemist ware House. Lost my business now.
Really rude customer service. Will never go back
Great Pharmacists. Friendly staff
Great staff and a good range
poor quality of service
