As I live out of town, I researched the details of multi-models and multi-brands when I could over a few weeks, to determine the most appropriate brand and type as well as the best value. During that time I spoke with over 5 staff members who were consistently of a high standard in their knowledge, their manner and their willingness and patience to explore and explain the many details and comparisons. The shop is very well organised with diverse and plentiful stock PLUS the fantastic addition of a coffee shop cafe at the rear, accessed from the rear or through the shop that offers excellent coffee and food at super-reasonable prices. Highly recommended for products, value and service. Congratulations and thanks Wayne and your awesome team!

My husband and I have had an excellent experience at My Ride Hobart. Michael is very knowledgeable in the industry, he listened to what I was asking and then helped me get the best bike that would suit me and what I wanted in performance to achieve my goal. My husband also bought a bike for different reasons and Michael was amazing with his explanations and taking the time to answer any questions we had. I highly recommend if you want a business who treats you like a person and genuinely wants to help you and not just sell you something to make money or put you on a bike your not going to ride then go and see Michael. I wish I could give more stars. Thank you for all your help we have found a business we will continue to go back too.

I visited Hobart earlier this month for a conference, and organised to come down a couple of days early. I contacted AvantiPlus about hiring a road bike, and they could not have been more helpful. I hired a bike that was sized for me, and it was a lovely ride. Wayne and Damien were both very helpful. I asked to have garmin cables fitted so I could track my rides, and that was easily done. The shop is a skip and a jump from the city, and their site has some good suggested rides- I did the commando loop, amongst others. The shop provided a helmet and lock, so I didn't need to bring those with me. Hobart is a great city to ride in, and I would thoroughly recommend AvantiPlus.

Avoid. I dropped my bike off for a simple gear tune. When I picked it up I was informed that my near new rear tyre had a cut that was so large the tube was hanging out. I thought this was very odd as I hadn't noticed (I'm big on maintainance and ride quite often). However rather than phone me with word of this discovery and ask if I wanted the tyre replaced they just went ahead and did so which was rather presumptuous and unnecessary as I have a spare at home. The bike mechanic was defensive and seemed ready for an argument from the get go and the sales assistant seemed sheepish. The whole experience left me rather suspicious and $80 lighter.

So my main bike had died suddenly, my spare bike needed attention and i needed it done quickly because i was out of bikes. My local bike shop said they could do it in 3 days. I rang these guys and they said no worries they would have it done in 2 days. I was on night shift and super tired but made the 45min drive through peak our traffic. When I got there after making up a bunch of rubbish about what needed doing they said it might not be ready until the next week, no apology. Useless and a huge waste of my time. I would avoid these guys at all costs. Pretty sure most of these reviews are done by their mates. Good luck :)

Great shop. Spent 10 minutes in the shop waiting to be served despite the 3 people behind the counter. Walked out. Must have had the invisible paint on…can’t reply to the shop’s response so I’ll just edit this. It was around 14.45, 3 people behind the counter having a laugh and joke with a friend in front of the counter. I think he left, 2 staff went out the back and the third didn’t bother looking up as I walked out.There we’re no other customers in the shop. I went to another shop, McBains, was instantly greeted with a smile and query as to what I wanted. Shoes ordered. You just lost a $250 sale…

I just had a bad experience with this guys. I bought $150 worth of tyres to install myself. When I was paying the guy said I can fit them for you and I said how much would it be and he said just a little bit for labour. When I got back they hit me with a $72 bill and I told him it wasn’t acceptable when I asked before hand but of course that’s how they sting you. It’s a shame because I love this shop and I’d like to know that I can trust them but for that money we would have chosen to fit the wheels ourselves. And I feel court because I asked and was reassured that it was just a small fee.

A great My Ride chain store to service southern Tasmania! I have had my bike's disc brakes bred there and was impressed with the standard of service as well as the price! They have the widest selection of Tasmanian-made Henty business attire commuting bags I have seen in any bicycle shop and they have knowledgeable as well as friendly staff that care about their customers. They have a great selection of Topeak bicycle luggage/racks too. Pop in and give them a chance if you haven't already or for a long time!

I rented a road bike from Avanti while visiting Hobart for a conference, as I wanted to ride up Mt Wellington. The service Wayne and his staff provided was outstanding from the time I emailed to make a booking, to the time I dropped the bike off at the end of my ride. Wayne and his friendly Sat AM bunch even rode with me to the base of the main climb, which was a great way to start the ride. Excellent, and genuinely friendly service - highly recommend Avant Hobart.

Not impressed. I emailed them an inquiry about the bike I was going to purchase on Tuesday. They confirmed they had it in stock in my size. I stated I would be in on the Saturday to pick it up. When I arrived they informed me that they didn't have any in stock but had ordered some which would arrive on the Monday. I waved goodbye to the store and my weekend riding. The prices are okay but consistently about 10% more expensive than other stores.

Stocking Avanti and Scott brands, they keep a large range of floor stock to look through. Avanti is a semi local brand (new Zealand) and produce great value and high quality bikes. The team is friendly and knowledgeable, however they are most noted for their support of local mtb events. With a coffee shop outback open on weekends, they are keen to help you out and keep you riding. Possibly the best stocked workshop in Hobart.

After my older Avanti MTB frame developed a crack (the design has since changed), the guys at MyRide really looked after me with a sweet deal on a new Scott Genius. Very understanding, helpful, patient and prompt. Great intro to the new bike with plenty of advice. I could not recommend them more highly. (The Avanti was a great bike, don't be put off by my experience, I would have got another but it wasn't in my size).

I would give 6 stars if possible! Hobart Avantiplus always provide extremely friendly and professional customer service. They actually do go above and beyond and am pleasantly surprised each time I visit. Thanks for all the hard work and kind assistance as I slowly learn more about bikes. Will be back for the next service or request for help (which is fairly common). Highly recommend.

Wayne and his team at Avanti Plus are first rate. I've had lots of dealings with them over the years and I've always been fully satisfied with their advice, help, support and purchases. I'm currently riding a Scott Genius Carbon 720 Plus that I bought from them a few months back and couldn't be happier. Thanks to all of the crew there!

I've only had food&coffee at the café but judging from the professional and friendly service there and employees helping with tips for hiking tours, the bike-related stuff just can't be bad! Great place for breakfast if you're staying at Woolmers Apartments (smoothies, coffee drinks, sandwiches...), with reasonable prices.

Been in a few times for tyres & other little things, always give good advice. Most recently Tom took me through a bike fit on my XC bike, & I think he nailed it. Lynton Av was fairly easy pedalling after a few little detailed position adjustments to my saddle & bar (2nd gear in a Slowlux, for comparison). Well worth it.

Great Hospitable Crew at My Ride Hobart Keith, Dougall and the rest of the team were fantastic to deal with for my road bike hire. Rented two bikes with a mate and we got a Scott Addict and Scott Solace. In good condition and great value day rate for quality of bike you are getting. No fuss pickup..... highly recommend

We were going to do the usual Mt Wellington descent but dropped by the Avanti shop one day and Wayne gave us 3 bikes on hire and dropped us at the top of the north-south track. We had a great time. Much more mountain biking than we would have got. Great service. Highly recommended.

I was recommended to see the team about some riding shoes. I had no knowledge about what shoes or the type of cleats I needed, other than a photo of the pedals. The team were super understanding that I was a novice and even installed the cleats for me.

The mechanics and the floor staff always give good advice, they're happy to help out even if you're just there to pick up consumables. I've been in heaps of times over the last couple of years, they've been great.

Great team of guys. Super knowledgeable and willing to help, I had some part clearance issues and they found me a spacer washer and sent me out the door free of charge. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
