I was referred to McBain from another shop when my rear shock had a strange problem, the shock pump wouldn't engage the valve core after is was serviced by a Melbourne bike shop (who I won't bother naming since they're thankfully no longer around). The folks at McBain went to huge lengths to help me out, removing the valve core, swapping it for another from a shock off one of their demo bikes, and even installing the core from my shock in their test rig. In the end it seemed to re-seat properly and has been fine since. The mechanic very generously didn't charge me anything for his time, of course I made a few purchases to show my gratitude. Deadset one of the best experiences I've had in a bike shop, ever. Would give ten out of five stars if I could.

Absolutely Outstanding Service! Called up looking to purchase a bicycle stem and living on the north end of the state wasn’t sure what was possible. However the lady that served me on the phone (I believe her name was Kate) went over and beyond to not only find the product i was looking for but also package and express post the item out to my location, with it arriving less than 24hrs later intact. She is a Legend and deserves very high praise. Well done Giant Hobart!

Retail experiences are so hit and miss, especially when shopping for expensive items you have limited knowledge of. The manager personally attended to me and absolutely astounded me with her knowledge of bicycles and customers. She rapidly assessed my needs and steered me to a a highly satisfactory sale. Fantastic service and at such a good price! I just asked them to fix one bit of my mountain bike but they went ahead and changed a cable, fixed the breaks and changed brake fluid without charging for it! So friendly too
