I have been using Mr. Rooter for over 10 years for emergency plumbing services. It’s been a great experience, until yesterday. I requested for a technician to help diagnose a potential leak in my home. Upon arrival, didn’t introduce himself, hands me a card (generic card, no name) and walked straight into the house with his shoes on. Asked if he could please remove his shoes and looked at me with attitude saying he needs to wear them. (???) Tells me the diagnostic fee then asks me where I want him to look. I thought that was his job? I suggested we start from the top bathroom and work our way down? Wearing his shoes… we head upstairs. First toilet, asks me if I use it at night. I said sometimes, I guess, and asked why that was important? No response. Asks ME to flush the toilet, while he watched. Looks with a flashlight, no leak, says it’s not in this bathroom. Doesn’t look under the vanity sink or anything. Second bathroom, flushes the toilet, no leak. Not there. I asked him to look at the furnace room because that’s where I heard a water sound. “Not my job, you need to call an HVAC person”. I said I didn’t need him to check the furnace, but that’s where I heard the water sound. Seems impatient at this point. Begrudgingly checks out the furnace and hears the noise I was talking about. Says it’s coming from upstairs, and proceeds to do a more thorough inspection of the upstairs bathrooms. All clear. Finally we check the basement. As I’m in the garage, he asks me to look if the garden hose was leaking. I said I didn’t see any water or wetness. Asks ME to unscrew the hose and look for water coming out of the spout. (???) I confirmed no water leaks. We have a tenant in the basement and I txt’d that we’ll need to enter. He says to just go inside. I had to convince him not to open their door and barge inside. I said to wait until she opens the door. He says time is money. Yeah, isn’t this why I’m paying you? Inspects the basement toilet and finds the issue. Tells me to replace the toilet ($1500). I asked if he can repair it, he says to replace the toilet. I asked again if he can replace the parts. Says it’ll be $700. I said I’ll just replace it myself (which I’ve done before) and he looks at me like I’m dumb. He kept pressuring me to replace the toilet until I finally got him to back down. He ends with “you check with your wife”. I have no idea what that was supposed to mean, was he making fun of me? My family wasn’t even home. After I paid the bill he again pushed to replace the toilet before he leaves, “I will give you one year warranty if you replace the toilet”. Please, just leave already. Knocks on the door a minute later, I thought he forgot something. Says, “I can replace the tank for $500”. He came back to try and still make a sale? Like, what are you doing? I called the office immediately and asked that a service manager call me back, no one has reached out so far. I’m never, never, never using this service again. These are the type of technicians they use these days? I’ve been so happy in the past with kind and knowledgeable technicians, but this one left its mark. A skid mark.

My Husband and I have been using Mr. Rooter North York since we bought our 60-year old home in 2015. For the last few weeks we were experiencing a very slow drainage problem with our downstairs bathroom sink, and the usual remediation methods weren’t yielding results (boiling water + plunging, Draino, and finally a hand auger, which opened it up a little but clearly detected a heavy blockage 4-6 ft in). Perplexed since we don’t wash anything odd down the sink and rarely use it aside from handwashing, we called in Mr Rooter again and this time had the pleasure of Mr. Wondy Tesfaye’s service. We assumed a simple power augering would be required and that he’d be done in minutes, but true to form, the previous DIY home owner made a royal mess of the sink drain connections and Wondy had to roll up his sleeves and put in well over an hour of nonstop effort to access the blocked drain from multiple challenging angles, temporarily cut off a problematic linked drain from an adjacent sink on the opposite side of the wall, and power auger it from both ends to fully break up the blockage. He even ran a shop vac after to ensure any loosened material was sucked out of the drain pipes. Wondy worked in a safe and very efficient manner, carefully explaining everything he was doing as he went along, and thoroughly verified the job was successful once completed (he ran three separate drainage tests, just to be sure everything was perfect). After that intensive effort (which he never complained about), he proceeded to clean up anything he accessed and anywhere the auger sputtered, and cordially provided us the invoice plus helpful tips to keep an eye on for the future. Our sincerest thanks to Wondy Tesfaye for his professionalism and going the extra mile (at no extra cost above quoted) to get the job done, and get it done right. Excellent professional service provided by plumbing technician that was sent for my work. Samuel Belay was incredibly professional and got all the work done I needed right away. I called in the morning before 10am and he arrived at my home close to 1pm (which is when I was told he would be there). I called requesting work for a leaking toilet. He told me what he thought may be the issue and showed me costs for the two possible options before he started any work. Turned out I needed to have drains cleared. I also asked about new toilet seeing as old one had to be removed to assess situation. He happily agreed to install a new one. I also asked him about a leaking faucet in the kitchen. Even though it wasn't part of original request. He said it would not be difficult to replace it while he was there. Lastly, when he was turning off the water at the main, he commented on it being a really old twist tap and suggested that I should consider putting a new shut off valve in. I asked if he could do that work as well and he agreed. He went over all of the items and their costs. He signed me up as a Mr Rooter member for $99 ... but that gave me savings of over $250 on the services I was getting. Samuel was very careful while inside my home; always removing his shoes and wearing a mask while doing the work. It was such a pleasant experience getting the work I needed done by Samuel. I was working from home and did my office activities while he went about making all the repairs - with little to no interruptions (other than to show me what had been added/changed). If you need any plumbing work done, Samuel is exceptional, professional and I highly recommend using his services. Thank you Mr Rooter for your timely and professional service. I would like to thank Mr Rooter Plumbing , for their superior work and expertise. What started out to be a very bad day, turned into a fantastic next few days. Not only did this company follow thru on all their promises , and sending Omid Azimi, their Project Manager when promised. He was so knowledgable, and located the many issues right away , and temp allowed for my tenant to have access to her water and bathroom! He quoted me and explained in great depth all my questions I had. He then went on to line up one of their best Plumbers , Patrick Siddall, and a new Team Member to come to do all the proper fixes that entailed a very large job. When Patrick and his new team member came, they went above and beyond ensuring everything was replaced and fixed correctly and to code. The strong, knowledgable work ethic, truly shows how this company invests in staff that truly represent them in the highest value. I will be definitely staying with using them from now on and referring the company to everyone i know. It is a breath of fresh air to have found people that have customers best interest at heart. Honesty, and pride in their work. I cannot thank all of you enough. I have been a long time repeat customer of Mr. Rooter, almost 20 years. Not any more. Set up an appointment to have the plumber install a new dishwasher and remove the old one. This was very important as we are in a condo complex with no way to get rid of or to recycle the old dishwasher. Before work commenced the plumber gave me a quote of $558 +HST. OK. I was then told that the shutoff valve under the kitchen sink was stuck. Another $440 + HST. I asked if the plumber could spray it with WD40 and wait 20 seconds. He told me that he would not be able to guarantee the work. Seriously??? So now the installation is more expensive than the stainless steel Kitchenaid dishwasher being installed. But that's not all. After being assured that the old dishwasher would be removed when the appointment was made, the plumber said that he didn't have room in his van. I called this store and asked why they sent a plumber with no room to remove the dishwasher, they said they'd get back to me. They didn't. We then told the plumber that we would take care of removing the old dishwasher but we needed him to remove the door for safety reasons and because we didn't have any tools to do it ourselves. He said no he couldn't do it. Again, seriously???

Having placed my request on line I was called very promptly. Due to parking restrictions at my building at first it seemed I could not be serviced by Mr. Rooter. However, the appointment booker thought outside the box and arranged for the only small vehicle to come. The plumber, Habib, entered my front door one minute to nine for a 9-12 appointment. He had a pleasant manner and went to work quickly giving me the estimated quote. He then set to work and found various complications to replacing my kitchen tap. The plumbing was out of date and the turn-off valves so old one broke as he tried to turn it. Habib was not put off and sought creative solutions for the issues which he faced, summounting all the problems. He had to work quickly since the water could not be fully turned off, but did an excellent job. I was also impressed with his cleaning up and removing all the waste. He advised me of additional work that is needed and I plan to use Mr. Rooter again to have that completed. I was very pleased with everything from start to finish.

Kitchen sink stopped working. Thought it was the isolation valve, technician comes and replaces isolation valves. Turns out, the faucet is the problem. I have already purchased a faucet to replace eventually, we use the faucet the technician finds faucet is defective after installing it. He tells me that I should've made sure it was not defective. It is missing plate so has to use the old place which is not a perfect fit. Technician discovers the handle to the tap does not rotate all the way. I pay $706.32 (invoice attached) for isolation valves and installing a supplied faucet. I pay all of that with the caveat that I would have to fix the job afterwards (replace the plate). I spend weeks calling and escalating to reach owner (Andrew Steeper). Owner gives me impression that they will fix the problem but almost implies I will have to incur additional fees. Owner ghosts me at the end!

This is the second time I have used Mr Rooter and it will not be the last. A team showed up to excavate and fix the pipes going out from my property to the city line. They were very clear on what needed to be done and delivered on budget and in time. I was surprised that it was all done in one day. The team periodically showed me what was going on, cut and dug a 7 foot trench in my driveway, excavated the basement concrete, laid new pipes and stops and it was all done in a day. The team was friendly and professional and were very hard workers. They never stopped working all day. Look no further for their services. The team took care of all the permits needed by the city and this was a completely hands off service. Fantastic. Thank you Michael and team.

Patrick and Steven listened to muy concerns and questions and they performed a complete top to bottom inspection and answered any question i had at that moment. I was concerned about low pressure overall in the townhouse i moved a year ago. They checked the bathrooms and water pressure in al faucets, as well during the revision of the exposed pipes they found a leak feeding to my water heating tank which we had not checked at all. they assisted in finding the main connection to the water supplied and provided extremely useful information and instructions to follow. they also provided the contact for sewer and drain inspection Extremely pleased with their service! definitely will call them right away and highly recommend them.

We had Alex come to open a blocked kitchen sink for us. He was professional and knowledgeable. The blockage was 50ft deep in the pipe, he wasn't successful in reaching the blockage the first time and he went back to his van for additional auger length and tried a second time. He's ready to try for a third time if it still wasn't successful but fortunately he hit the blockage second time and cleared it. He then spent 10 min. filling the sink to make sure the blockage is completely gone, and after that cleaned up the entire space and left no mess behind. We are very happy with Mr Rooter and will recommend to anyone with a plumbing issue.

I had old clay pipes under my basement floor that contained tree roots and were at risk of leaking. I had multiple companies investigate and quote on this issue but John B. from Mr. Rooter was by far the best. He performed a complimentary camera inspection to determine the extent of the issue and he then produced a repair quote on the spot after he was finished. He stayed in touch with me while a different crew completed the work and even returned to my house to perform some touch ups after my basement had been restored. I strongly recommend Mr. Rooter, and John in particular, to anyone who needs plumbing work in their house.

Wondy was absolutely amazing. I called with an urgent issue and he made time to see me the same day. He came exactly when he said he would, was friendly and courteous and made sure the entire job was done right before he left. While he was working on the issues that I called about he noticed other leakages in my sink and fixed them during the same visit. While he was working he was quiet, clean and very quick. I am EXTREMELY impressed with his customer service and workmanship. I will defiantly be calling him again the next time I have any trouble with my plumbing. Thank you SO MUCH Wondy!

The company was responsive, I was scheduled quickly. The plumber that arrived was professional and resolved my issue reasonably quickly, suggested next steps, and gave a quote, for future work. My issue was the mess. There was wax everywhere, from the wax seal, footprints from the bathroom right to the door, I had to scrub the tub, the toilet, the floor, the wall. I don't expect the area to remain pristine. I expect some cleaning after they leave, but this was a mess. I would still use them again, because overall the service and knowledge were excellent!

One of my rentals units had a plugged kitchen sink drain on a Saturday. Mr Rooter was excellent from the website chat feature that prompted an email from Sarah with details. Bruce was the technician who came out. He was professional, explained what was wrong, provided 2 different priced options, and did the job fast. It was great value. There are likely cheaper companies out there but I will gladly call Mr Rooter again and hopefully Bruce will be available. Great value, loved their payment technology, very secure. Overall 5 Gold Stars.

We were very pleased with the work that Ali did for us. We had a leak under the bathroom sink. He told us exactly what had to be done and proceeded to fix the problem. He also gave us some recommendations for us because we have an older home and the sink needs some support. Also customer service at mr rooter is exceptionally great. We had a problem with the work from the previous person they sent us. I gave them a call and within the hour a new plumber was sent to fix the problem. Mr Rooter sent us Ali who did great work.

I had the pleasure of service from 2 of the Plumbers in my home in the span of the three hour service window. Both Vlad and Owen were professional and courteous. Came in assessed situation quickly and took the extra steps to make sure their individual parts in the service were done to perfection. The cost was lower than quotes by any of the competitors. I would highly recommend using these services to anyone who has blocked drain issues. The service provided entirely exceeded my expectations!

I've been a loyal customer of Mr. Rooter for the past few years. One significant advantage they have over one-man shows is their professionalism and ability to efficiently complete the job as planned. Getting a free quote for my plumbing needs has been a great advantage as well. I'd suggest adding to their training that technicians should provide information directly to the person who hired them, rather than to the resident of the place, to avoid any potential issues for the homeowner.

Needed quick service to hook up the water line for the ice maker in a new fridge (there was an existing line- so nothing complicated). After calling 10+ places, Mr. Rooter was the only one able to send someone within an hour. Amazing. After asking for quick quotes from the 10+ places I called, I think the rate is on the high side, but it was worth every penny for having someone able to come get the job done that day! Patrick Siddall came to our house to deal with multiple issues Re leaks in kitchen, bathrooms. He is so polite, professional,thorough, great at explaining things in an understandable way, careful about cleanliness, efficient and proud of his work - as he should be. There is no question we would use Mr Rooter again and ask specifically for Patrick. The initial call to the call centre this morning was amazing in terms of customer service and professionalism and follow up.

Peter W. from Mr Rooter responded to an emergency call when I was visiting my mother in Thornhill. Water was leaking in the bathroom I was using. It took an hour from the time we called for Peter to arrive. He not only fixed the problem promptly (a valve needed replacing) but was informative, courteous, and kind. While it seemed expensive, we learned a lot and joked with him that he would make a fantastic plumbing teacher. Well worth it! Highly recommend!!!

Samuel was super friendly and quick to fix the issues with my kitchen sink drain - and he spent extra time and care to do everything he could to prevent me from needing to purchase a new pipe (which I really appreciate!). I have used Mr. Rooter twice in the past year, once for a faucet installation and toilet leak, and once for a shower drain cleaning. I have been really impressed on both occasions. I was lucky enough to get Owen for both visits, and he is polite, talented and professional. He always explains what he is doing and why he is doing it. I am extremely pleased with the work that has been done and will be having him come back when needed in the future.

Called them for a clogged drain on Sunday. They said they are busy but will come first thing in the morning. Then got a call next morning that they had a lot of calls and we will be later in the afternoon. Then call that driver can't find parking and has no way to pay for the parking lot. So I go out and pay. Now good news, guy was great. Fixed the issue quickly and cleaned up behind himself. Since he was fast, parking was only $5. Thanks Owen

I recently had THE BEST service experience with "Wondy" who came to clear a blockage in my indoor pipes. He explained everything before, during and after clearing the pipe, as well as laying down drop sheets and thoroughly cleaning up after himself. I can't recommend Wondy or Mr. Rooter enough. Although I hope I never have this issue again, I know who I will be calling and recommending to family and friends in the future.

The technician couldn't resolve a problem that required a boiler repair service, but some work was performed to replace a 'seized' nozzle. He was honest, didn't charge me what I was initially quoted and was competent in his diagnosis. This is the second time I've used their service and I recommend them if you don't want hacks exploring options 'on the fly' which can become costly or leave you with an unsightly repair.

The workers were right on time as stated. Covered everything around the work area, Dug a big hole in front yard to get to the city water line. Had to break some of the concrete around the water meter. Put in a new copper water pipe from the City line into the house. Replaced the ground in the front yard and re concreted the basement floor. They also cleaned up afterwards. Excellent workmanship and cleanup.

The last visit on Tuesday September 26 was a great experience in terms of quality of work. All my issues got resolved. I remain a loyal customer of Mr Rooter because every issues I had got fixed quickly very high quality of work, plumbers are very professionals and polite. . Plumping issues can be very stressful, with the help of Mr Rooter I can sleep at night knowing my issues will be fixed by experts.

They took care of our blocked pipe, gave me many options before starting work. Saved me money by taking the easiest/best route. Turned out to be tree roots. They removed the blockage and came back a few days later to replace the whole pipe. Quick and efficient. Left the house/yard just as they found it. Very respectful and careful. We had sewage back up into the house and turned out to be a much larger problem than anticipated. Dwayne was very helpful and responsive. He explained everything thoroughly, especially to someone who didn’t know anything about plumbing. He took over our case immediately when we didn’t know who to ask. Mr Rooter was extremely responsive having a crew on site to repair a substantial sewer blockage problem the very next day after our call. The representative, Jason, was professional and business-like and assessed the problem quickly and thoroughly and solved the problem right away. We are confident the this problem has been completely rectified.

Dewayne and his crew are amazing. They were very friendly, polite and informative. They laid a tarp down so that my space would not get dirty and informed me of everything that they were doing every step of the way. The service was friendly, prompt and professional. However I was under the impression that our new dishwasher would be installed as part of the work. Instead we were advised at the end of the job they don’t install dishwashers, which came as a surprise to me. Apart from that the Work was completed on time everything was well done.

I hired Mr. Rooter to perform excavation and replace a 5-foot section of pipe. Omid arrived at the house a few hours later and obtained the locates marked from the city as an emergency. He was a delight to work with. He was honest, quoted a fair price, and most importantly, he was dependable and responsive. I highly recommend him.

Dwayne did an amazing job. We had a leak In the bathroom and couldn’t use it for weeks. The toilet needed to be replaced. He came in prepared, removed the toilet. Brought in a new one. He even installed our bidet which wasn’t part of his job. Very efficient and clean service! happy with the results and will hire again!

Just had Wondy come in and repair a stuck bathroom sink flange. He was professional, quick and able to identify problem ( stemming from a bandaid job from the previous owner). Wondy fixed the problem completely. I'm very satisfied, as this was my first home and the first time I've had to call a plumbing service... A+

Good work. Quick to come to call. Fees are over the top expensive. A $170 faucet (retail) on line cost me over $700.00 to purchase from their truck and install. If cost isn't a concern, use them. God only knows if a faucet was truly needed considering it was the trap and pipe that needed to supposedly be replaced.

Dewayne, Marko, Michael and Vasil are excellent folks. I had a serious drain problem and it needed to dig out the sewage pipe. These folks had it fixed in a few hours and finished the job professionally at a reasonable price. They worked hard and professionally made everything fixed for our Christmas holidays.

My service tech was Wondy and he did a great job of clearing the kitchen drain blockage. Also he took great care in cleaning while he worked and clean up all the grease and goo that came out of the pipe. Wondy's careful and skilled response to the challenges of the job was reassuring that it was done right.

I had a kitchen faucet replaced. I provided the new faucet. I was shocked at the cost. $450.00 to replace a kitchen faucet. There were no complications. This seems excessive to me. I have been assured there is no mistake. This is what it costs. You can be sure I will not be calling them again.

today they assigned a plumber who came to my unit to replace a toilet and a shut-off valve. I told him that I just moved to Canada last year and I'm a newcomer. then that toilet cost 1200 plus tax. price is high but the service is professional.

Ali was very professional, he answered all my questions, explained everything he was doing, what caused the blockage and how to prevent it from happening again. Also, he cleaned up after himself and left below my sinks like he was never there.
