I guess I'm old school. I am old enough to remember the enclosed Mountain Plaza Mall and also the outdoor version of the 70's of that same plaza. But both of those versions far surpass the current layout. This plaza is like so many other ones that are popping up. They are made for people in a vehicle. If you are a pedestrian or in a mobility scooter there is not really a safe route into any of the stores without having to contend with the vehicular traffic. Some of which drive like they are still on the street. Mountain Plaza had character with all of its smaller stores and relationships with store staff and customers were forged and a bond of trust was built. It was a plaza or mall to meet up with friends or family or to make new friends It was a place that people looked forward to going to on a regular basis AND it offered affordable shopping unlike a larger unnamed mall not too far away. Planners for these box store properties have essentially taken away the personal touch of a community mall. In this day and age communities lack that sense of closeness.

It’s nothing special but it’s much better stocked then the centre mall Walmart. The shoppers is decent that stays open about the same as Walmart . The Walmart is nice that it’s open til 11pm like they all were before COVID shortened some, like centre mall. There is no shortage of parking the LCBO is a fair size what’s left of the mall is nice and overall it’s a decent plaza doesn’t have even 30% the amount of stuff that centre mall on Barton’s plaza has BUT it gives you some of the basics in there without having to drive tons and as long as you drive metro and Canadian tire are at Mohawk and this is at Fennel, so only 1 major intersection away . If you walk it sucks that they don’t have a grocery store s f a. Home improvement and /or Canadian tire in the plaza. There is room here to build a couple more large stores BUT with stores just down the street they would be competing for the same customers and those who drive don’t mind driving couple extra minutes as this plaza is mostly surrounded by residential dwellings.

I can't say I'm a fan of the way all the former indoor shopping malls have become disconnected stores with mazes of parking lots in between. I'm not a huge Walmart shopper and I suppose that's the main attraction here. It's actually not that great as far as Walmarts go anyway, less selection than the bigger stores and typically a bit of a wait in line. I do enjoy their $5 cakes though, and it's nice to be able to use a washroom somewhere too given that most take-out place have theirs closed which sucks when you're out shopping for the day. There's also a Shopper's Drug Mart, Bulk Barn, LCBO and the usual mix of stores you find at every couple of intersections up on the mountain. Not much unique to make me want to go there, but convenient if you live up that way I suppose.

Went to dollarama, then afterwards to Tim Hortons, had my cane that day and needed to sit down. There were 3 empty tables but no chairs. At the end were a couple tables joined together with LOTs of chairs. Many people gathered in a group talking loudly in a different language and most had no food or drink. Just loitering. No one offered me a chair! I found them very inconsiderate. I wanted to make a complaint but didn't know where. Finally a man who was sitting at a table further up left and I took his spot. And believe it or not, when I left a lady grabbed my chair and took it down to the loitering table. This should not be allowed. I no longer wish to enter that Mall again. Not a pleasant or relaxing time.

Ok selection of store but parking spots are small and any parking close to mall is always taken by mall employees, people working in other locations close to the mall or going to school. Why would anyone want to shop here when they don’t provide covienient parking for paying customers? Most people who work in the mall are nice but obviously they care nothing about overall customer experience otherwise they would realize many of their customers are elderly and should be the ones parking close to the stores not employees. Most places provide employee parking. As for people shopping elsewhere or going to school they should be fined or towed.

Random shops, some old school all in one building, which I personally love. Then there are a few outdoor storefronts.. Liquor store, Shoppers drug mart,.... It seems the big brands are outside and the one off shops are in the mall. oh and there's a Walmart in the plaza as well at the other end. I'm only giving it three stars because I hate big box stores outside that I have to potentially drive to or go in and out in inclement weather. Please go back to malls where you could park, go into, do all your shopping and come out..

It's a shopping plaza next to a walmart, amongst other essentials to life. It's not bad, it's okay, it's clean. The washrooms are clean as well, but are often closed for cleaning. The subway in this mall makes good subway if u r into that. It still sorta feels like old hamilton mountain. I love it but I'm biased since I grew up around here. The other local businesses inside are just genuine people, but then there's also Tim's and dollarama which I think are... conversations for another time. Solid 4+ outta 5

Not a fan. It was much better when it was a proper mall. It is too much of a pain to walk from store to store, from Walmart to that belt store. Stores got more business, there were more stores in general, you could always find what you wanted, and it was laid out like a small mall to store to store shopping was easy. Not a fan of this plaza and never will be. Also the parking lot is designed poorly (in the Walmart section) and it is a pain to drive in.

  • Mike Da Silva

The whole plaza as a whole is pretty handy. You can find mostly everything you need between grocery shopping at Walmart to snacks and goodies at bulk Barn. Medication at shoppers drug Mart, restaurants such as Tim Hortons McDonald's and Subway, as well as the suit store Moore's. I believe Walmart has a price match so it makes it a lot easier to go there for all of your shopping needs instead of buying a few things at multiple different stores.

It’s a busy store bcz of its location only The service is horrible The sales floor is a mess, shelves have prices ticket but not the product, even upon requests their so called associate will not check at the back room . Or maybe if they go to back room don’t come back to us to give any update on product inquiry. If they will come out From back room literally ignore you. I always have this experience from this store location.

  • Glen Atwell

It has a variety of stores some of the staples like Walmart, LCBO Tim Hortons and the likes. The parking lot is large so finding a spot is fairly simple. The only drawback here is that you MUST remember to lock your vehicle. The lot always has lots of people walk through. I've forgotten 3x and 3x i have had my car rummaged through. I stop here on my way home at least every other week. Stores are all clean and nice.

This place has some major retailers like Walmart Supercentre, Lcbo, shopper's drug mart, cibc bank and so forth. It's a big place with scattered shops in the strip and a small mall. There is ample space for parking. Sometimes, this place gets crowded, especially during the weekends. It's a common shopping place for the residents living in the Hamilton mountain area. I would definitely recommend this place.

  • Country Watcher

This mall boasts a diverse array of stores, making it a one-stop destination for all your shopping essential needs. From clothing and electronics to household goods and more, you'll find a plethora of shops offering a wide range of essential items. Whether you're looking for the latest fashion trends, gadgets, or everyday necessities, this mall has you covered with its extensive selection of stores.

This shopping plaza offers a diverse range of stores and restaurants with ample parking and easy access. The well-curated mix of high-end boutiques, mainstream retailers, and specialty stores, along with the variety of dining options and calendar of events, make it a solid choice for a convenient and enjoyable shopping experience. I personally did some shopping and finished with a meal at Subway.

  • alexrivet2004

Used skip the dishes and I called the restaurant because my driver had not moved from his original location in 30 min. I asked Wes the manager how long my order had been sitting for? He said 25 min sitting under the lights. I asked if he would remake the order. No he needs a new order number. Well I am now notifying Hamilton Public Health for them sending out cold food. Have fun with that visit

heey to whom it may concerns so far I have no problems except the phone ceosk in the right corner of the mini mall. I spoke to the younger guy. he didn't want me to get help and argued with me about the phone and barely took a 5min look of concentration on the newly phone and I had my receipt. then he tried to confront me like I was a mad man but I was a frustrated customer.

  • Meaghan Edwards

Been going here all my life; used to visit Santa, check out the pet store (bck in the era of ignorance is bliss; they even had a large primate; a chimp I believe), went shopping at Bargain Harolds, Woolco, the donut shop and a lovely restaurant I'd go to wtih my mom and grandmother. Still has some cute mom and pop shops. I go there for getting my eyes tested.

  • Beatrice Maude

I was at this plaza to shop at the Shoppers Drug Mart. It's an excellent Shoppers Drug Mart, very large with a super selection of just about everything. On the occasion I was there, the cashier was in a great mood which made the shopping experience even better than usual. This plaza also has a very decent LCBO, Walmart, and Moore's Men's clothing store.

  • Stephanie Mattews

It's changed so much and looks like most everything else now. Takes a bit to walk around and get anywhere and the traffic wow, but hey progress. Can't walk inside malls any more they don't make them that way anymore. So if you find shops you see sizes too small or find decent regular sizes and or a higher pricing. The way things go with change I guess.

  • L Z

Usually busy went to Walmart also busy was a little surprised there weren't hand sanitizer stations throughout store seeing how busy this location is . Made it to the electronics section was in and out with my new phone in minutes - service was on point (just the right time because when I left there were 2 people waiting). Typical Walmart trip.

  • Mateo316 “Mateo”

Place has really useful stores such as the Dollarama, the Tim's and the Wok Express and I guess the Subway. You can get a bunch of stuff done here from shopping to eating and there's even little booths with phone accessories and other things. If you need anything you think you won't find somewhere else this place will probably have it.

  • Graham W

It sure isn’t what it used to be. I can recall when the anchor store was Loblaws, then Woolco was built, then the northern section was built, then it was enclosed, then it was all redone with big box stores etc. Walmart at the south end, LCBO on the N/E side. At least the Cobbler’s Bench us still there. Overall, easy in and easy out.

  • Shel

This place is really excellent, compared to the parking lot desert that surrounds it. The small little stores inside have a good mix of personality and cookie-cutterness that make them good for everyone. In particular, eye society, the small belt/leather shop, and the Chinese food place inside are my personal favourites.

  • Benjamin Da Bumb

Neither a big, nor a well equipped place. However, it's atmosphere is peaceful and has an air of community to it. If it's got what you want, is certainly more pleasant than most 'malls' and is ready to access quickly parking as well. In short, it's an small indoor strip mall with a nice coffee shop atmosphere.

  • Brigitte Talbot

Checked out all the fall/winter fashion at Walmart sizes are limited but found a couple of pieces that will work. Had some hotcakes and still had a free coffee card in my purse so l could treat myself with you hotcakes. Not bad of a morning. Sun is warming things up to boot!!!

  • Carcar

The mall has some great low cost stores like the Chinese take out and surplus stores. The stores are ok but the reason I give it a 3 or less is because there are very few stores and the parking is so bad for tightness. The worst parking spaces I ever parked in.

  • Rick Hannell

Friendly first visit. I met a mean cleaning lady who kept telling me talk to the machine. I left my items on the counter and didn't buy a coffee at Tim Hortons. The only reason I didn't just walk out with my stuff is because of the LCBO and the beer store.

  • Kate DeJonge

The last remaining wing of the old Mountain Plaza Mall! It holds great nostalgia for me! It's mostly barren, but you can still drop off your boots for repair and grab a sub for dinner! (Skip the Chinese food, it's rolled so far down hill is inedible.)

  • Kevin Logan

Not just the Walmart. This area has a lot of stores that will suit your fancy for a lot of things, Pharmacy, adult beverages and relaxation, formal wear, alternative medicine, and so much more. Take the time to look, it will be worth it.

  • Michael Dean

Had to go take care of some business at the bank. Very helpful & friendly & not a long wait. Mixed the dates up with the other review l just did so read that one as well. This was my birthday & the day Hope had lifesaving cancer surgery.

  • Daniel Marcellini

Convenient parking, I still remember the days when it was called the Woolco plaza. At one point they revamped it so it was completely covered and then they tore that down and put up in its current form. I think I liked it the way it was.

  • Donna Coady

Going to be torn down About time! Feel sorry for the tenants as the rent is very high.I get my shoes repaired there and also my glasses. 2 special shops .Good parking but it was poorly planned when renovated and has no personality

  • nasreen bodo

Waiting to cash out always takes way too long, I really hope you fix that one day. Strawberries are never fresh and moldy when I take a better look at home. But staff is always friendly and helpful. Love that it's one stop shop.

  • The Ainzlee

A strip mall that includes Walmart, LCBO and some other great names. It's not a huge strip mall but it has everything you need. If I could find what I'm looking for in Walmart in less than 20 minutes that would be great.

  • T. Kumar

Way too crowded and parking lot is very unsafe both for pedestrians and for cars, as there is too much traffic. If you are getting groceries, there are grocery stores nearby that are same price and better parking!

  • Michelle Murphy

Been going here my whole life. Quite different now, but still good. I recommend checking out the tailend of the left of The Mountain Mall that used to be there. Cute, mom and pop atores, and great services also.

  • Sandra Rodrigues

Walmart has changed, the clothing choices stink and the shoes choices are terrible, and there might be five purses to choose from. I used to buy lots of clothes, purses and shoes there, but not anymore, very sad

  • Stephanie C

They never have the rotisserie chicken available after work hours. The cashier couldn't be bothered to bag, too busy chatting with the next cashier. It's a large location which is nice but it's not well stocked

  • David Sfwriter

It's a fairly complete plaza having just about everything you could need in one location. Including for example Walmart, the LCBO, a bank, Taco Bell, SUBWAY, Shoppers Drug Mart, a Dollar Store, and so on.

  • Wendy G

I visited the Walmart at this location. I went in print some pictures and when I asked the front hostess where their photo center was she was very rude. The cashier at the photo center was very friendly.

  • Michael Kemp

Lots to choose from but a very busy Walmart. They should have never closed down the mountain smaller store Also watch the drivers out front You would think there trying to score points lol …

  • sherri tait

Very clean little mall. It's not like it was in the '80s that's for sure or even the '90s. It's very quaint. Dollar store is pretty big in there and it's the only one that has a chatter left kiosks.

  • Godfrey Agbontaen

Don't order here if you are in a hurry My wife went in to shop i stopped to buy the kids 2 chicken nugget meal and spent over 45 minutes waiting My wife finished shopping while I was still waiting

  • Holly Rawn

  • Patersonman Gaming

Big fan of the Wok Express and dollarama in here. Wok is super cheap but good quality and serving. Plaza itself is well kept. I grew up here when it used to have a bunch of arcade machines …

  • Peter Petrossi

Good & bad! Wal-Mart liquor store and other brands. Only thing that bugs me is the parking is so tight. Save 59 cents get your car damaged dies that make sense. Only go if doing a quick pick up.

  • A Nay

Clementines were rotten 2 days after purchasing, store seemed understaffed - noone insight to assist, than paid $2 for 2x bags ... Fairly expensive products and packaging ... Not a fan !

  • Jeremy Taylor

Great shopping center. Has an unfinished portion where the old Woolco used to be. They should at least put a farmers market there in the summer and a Christmas tree lot in the winter.

  • Raj Kamal

I visited this plaza for Walmart. I like this Walmart location because staff is really helpful here and if you have to return anything they don't make it difficult for you.

  • Joseph Dallos

Great place to shop, other than just groceries, clothing, hardware, automotive, school supplies, a pharmacy, and much more, is available with competitive prices.

  • barb miller

Crazy parking lot.. not many disable spots.. people stopped right in front of the doors.. many cars.. awkward to safely enter the store.. erratic drivers

  • Jerry Bilous

Parking spots are way to narrow. Cars getting damaged by doors. Maybe 20 retail outlets with Tim Hortons and subway. Some tables in the mall for seating

  • Jordan Weaver

Lots of good stores. Every store I've been into has had very good service. Plenty of nice people work in this plaza. I'm glad I live 5 minutes from it!

  • John Murray

Upper James Walmart was great to shop at with staff willing and friendly while helping you find what you where looking for recommend to shop here

  • Darrell turner

Terrible place to work. The bathrooms are constantly upset by vandals . Express wok is a great place to get authentic Asian food at a good price.

  • Night Pony

It's mostly shut down except for the outside stores use to have a food court doesn't now and inside malls closed exterior businesses still open

  • Jessica Smillie

Quiet busy on a Sunday with impatience people. However staff is great and help whenever they can! Wish they had more to choose from also.

  • Char “& Brian” Langlois

Did not like the parking area nor the entrances and exits made worse by unfortunate snow mounds. Still an avoidance area for me if busy.

  • Taylor

This place is ok parking spaces are ridiculously small. If you have a big vehicle don’t go here. Plus most shop have left this plaza.

  • Debbie R

Beautiful mall but very sad to see many empty stores and tiny Cafe in food court. Great stores like food basics and giant tiger.
