ABSOLUTELY love bringing my littles here. So much positive energy is in this place. One of our top choices close to home, they choose it almost every time for our evening walk. For all ages. Just brings such positive vibes to all. Lost to look at, & lots to read. Beautiful views. Friendly people. If you ever need a family photo done. Don’t be afraid to ask for assistance from others! They are so friendly, and willing to help you and yours. Just a great neighbor, lots to do and lots to look at I hope you choose to go there and have a great experience like we do!
Super cool. Definitely want to see it in the spring or summer time. Needs more art though. The Cherry spoon is definitely the highlight. Would love to see blocks on the trail way of different art to walk along to the next big sculpture. Beautiful place to take your Dog on a walk and the area is very well kept up. Got to see a rare Black squirrel too! There is also a cool bridge to cross over the highway and continues to yet another beautiful park.
Dog-friendliness
See lots of dogs. Great for walking. And a ramp as well to go up and over the highway.
Beautiful sculpture garden with a path to follow and some sculptures are interactive and child friendly. There is pieces of art throughout the entire garden. Parking is not too bad as there is a convenient parking lot with pay booths within, but it does fill up fast! I recommend keeping a photo of your license plate on your phone as several people had to run back to their cars to retrieve that information for the marking meter. There are public restrooms near the start of the garden and near the parking lot which are clean and well maintained.
The iconic spoon and cherry were spraying water out the stem to the delight of my 9 year old and shrieks of momma look! Ducks beating the heat in the shade and cooling spray. Trees, sculptures a Peruvian band playing in the shade. A mild summer evening with plenty of room to run on the manicured paths and neat things to see in front of the downtown skyline. A short walk to go watch an amateur baseball game , art museum or get an ice cream. I highly recommend this if you want to see something free and where you can just chill out and be you.
We spent two days visiting the Walker Art Center, the striking outdoor sculpture garden, and the current exhibition. Also, the Performing Arts Season 2023 featuring Dianne McIntyre Group, In the Same Tongue, was the main reason for my visit.
Picnic area
It was lovely to see birthday parties set up in the picnic areas. Quinceañera is a celebration of a girl's 15th birthday. It has cultural roots in Mexico and is widely celebrated by girls throughout Latin America. The girl celebrating her 15th birthday is a quinceañera.
What a nice garden to walk around with lots of incredible sculptures in it. This is located right in front of Walker Art Center. There is a bridge that connects this Garden and Loring Park. I loved every single sculptures I saw here but due to about 10 inches snow I couldn't completely enjoy my visit. I highly recommend to wear winter boots during winter time. I took lots of nice photos here. Definitely, beautiful photo spot in Minneapolis which was very easy to access from my hotel in downtown of Minneapolis.
This sculpture garden is really beautiful. It's a great place for families. friends, dates and singles. And it's free! But I urge you to make a donation. There are so many displays of amazing art. If you go online to their website, they have information about each art piece and some fun games. The weather was perfect on the day I visited so I was able to leisurely stroll the garden and take some awesome pictures. They do have a Cafe but I had eaten breakfast right before I went.
This iconic sculpture garden in Minneapolis has commissioned examples of the 20th century greats including Richard Serra, Ellsworth Kelly and Claes Oldenburg (the cherry spoon), all free to experience just off downtown. Exciting newer examples from contemporary sculptors comment on native perspectives and spiritual connections. The expanded campus contains a natural meadow and grassy hillside where you can find places to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Don't miss it.
Beautiful garden, gentle walking paths, art pieces were spaced nicely to allow photos. Obviously a popular spot on a day with nice weather but not so crowded as to interrupt personal enjoyment of the space. Bathrooms and food trucks available. It was $6 to park in a parking garage. Take your time and enjoy the variety of art pieces.
Restrooms
Easily accessible onsite
Picnic area
Covered space with some picnic tables, also benches along the paths .
Awesome sculpture garden. Stay a while - Listen to the church bell in the distance. The park was clean and everyone was very friendly. If the food truck owners raise their prices of bottled water...it was completely my fault. $1.60 is entirely too inexpensive for a tourist area. I said to charge $3-4 and thanked them for such affordable bottles. You may get lucky and find an art festival in the neighboring park on a Saturday. A must visit while in town.
It's a great place to go for a walk and admire the sculptures. I'm not that into art, but it was worth going here. Kids were making their own sculptures ⛄️ ☃️(snowmen), which is modern, compared to the sculptures made by artists in the last century. People were friendly in the park. It's better to go in summer.

The garden lost a lot of shade but I see a beautiful comeback happening.I love to visit the garden at least once a year with the kids. Lots of families and the ice cream truck was a plus. We park near Loring Park so that my youngest can take a swim in the kiddie pool before we head home.

The garden was redesigned and refreshed in the mid 2010s. If you haven't visited since then, I recommend going. The new portion on the hill next to the Walker has a zigzagging path, a grove of chalk maples, and offers some nice views of the park and the Minneapolis skyline beyond. A day off school and beautiful fall weather made for a memorable outing for our family.
Worth a visit while in Minneapolis. I was surprised at how many sculptures were in the area and that it was completely free to visit. We paid for parking since we weren’t familiar with the area but it sounds like there is free street parking in the area as well. There is something for all ages. The iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry was our favorite!
Such a cool place! One of my favorite experiences that I had on my 4 day trip to Minneapolis. It had even more art than I had imagined, and was a great precursor to visiting the Minneapolis Institute of Art. One of the best all around, family friendly places I've been to in all of my travels. Would totally come back on another visit to Minneapolis!
This sculpture garden is not only pretty but fun with some of the quirky art. There are level, paved walks that lead you around to each piece of art and its description. There is a paid car park conveniently next to it. If you find yourself in town, take an hour to check it out.

We got to check it out later in the day, and it was really pretty and the moon was popping out! I really enjoyed walking around and learning about the different sculptures. Parking wasn’t hard to find, and there was people there, but not too many where it was crowded or hard to walk around and see the sculptures.
This is a neat find in the middle of a bustling city. Lots of different types of sculptures. The park is easy to access and is free. It was a great place to go walk around, enjoy some sun, and appreciate some cool art.

A stunning park in Minneapolis! Walking here on a hot summer evening enjoying some really cool art sculptures. Open to the public but must pay for parking. We came here to burn some time for a reservation we had booked later that evening, must say it was really relaxing sitting on the chairs near the cherry.
This is one of those "must see" if you are in the Minneapolis area. Cool and quirky at the same time. Some of them seem a bit incomplete others are perfecr. Go before noon with less people.
Restrooms
Very clean and by the parking lot.
Picnic area
A few seating areas but lotsnof grass.
Great place to meet-up with friends. Make a connection for a lunch date. Take the family for some outdoor culture. Whatever your occasion is you will not be disappointed.

Large modern sculpture park with a mix of small, large, good, and lame pieces. The cherry on the spoon is worth the trip all by itself. Adequate parking available.

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is a beautiful outdoor area adjacent to the Walker Art Center. Lucky for us, we visited on a sunny day, perfect for enjoying the interactive art pieces throughout the beautiful gardens. It is a must-visit for art and nature enthusiasts.
WONDERFUL PLACE TO STROLL! Admire the different pieces of art and don't miss the numerous flowers at the far end of the Sculpture Garden (furthest end from Walker Art Museum). There are numerous benches along the paths, if you want to sit & relax during your stroll.
Great place. Beautifully arranged. Went with my kids (teenagers). Had fun while reading the specifics of each sculpture.

Easy to get to. Easy walk with beautiful sculptures and native plants. Great adventure to do solo or with loved ones.
Dog-friendliness
There was one person with a small dog. I didn’t see any signs that said no dogs allowed.
Awesome evening at the sculpture garden!!!! We went at sunset and found easy parking and it wasn't crowded. Love this place!!! We played with our ball waiting for the perfect sunset photo and we got it!!! No bugs either!
Definitely added to my favorites list. I’ve seen sculpture gardens in NYC, ATX, and Dallas; this one does not disappoint. Plus, it has the added green freshness of Minnesota, which can’t be topped. More
Loved this! So glad we stopped to see this fantastic exhibit. The day after we were there we found out the artist of the cherry and spoon slide passed away. She was so talented .
This was a delight! So glad we have this amazing free public art park in the Upper Midwest! Happy that we made this part of our trip to Minneapolis. I would highly recommend!!
It need a little bit of maintenance. Although is a nice experience, the sculptures are fun and creative. Is nice how the sculptures play with the scale of the elements More
Free garden with some iconic sculpture. Great for picnic or a stroll around. If you can find free side road parking that’s better than paying $6 underground parking: More
So glad I had an opportunity to visit here and walk the grounds. I would highly recommend as a must see tourist spot if you’re planning a visit to the twin cities.
Very cool place to visit, accessible by all modes and provides a good amount of entertainment.
Restrooms
There are restrooms in the parking lot.
Beautiful space to enjoy the trees and interesting sculptures place throughout. Parade Stadium is here and is home for Augsburg's college baseball team
It was cool to see all the art even though it was super cold. Stumbled upon it on our way to breakfast downtown. I’d like to visit again in the summer
Windchime tree is like being in a sound bath given to you by a tree. Absolutely astonishing (summer only for that particular piece)
It was an incredible experience, the giant sculptures are amazing. The place is really beautiful and ideal to spend a relaxing day.
Fantastic outdoor park in the city. Variety of sculptures, easy access to Loring Park. Open all year and worth a visit.
It was an hour tour the guide was very nice and knowledgeable. Beautiful scenery. Recommend for families More
I thought this was a beautiful place with great sculptures and enjoyed the benches with sayings on them.
