TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - I visited this salon on three separate occasions. The first couple of times I had a sew-in weave done. It was overpriced, but due to the fact that I was new in town I believed this would be the best option at the time. Given that the result was good and relying on Martha's alleged level of expertise, I then decided to go a third time, but this time I opted for a more permanent (and expensive) solution to keep my own hair: a Keratin treatment. I should add, I have 4A type long hair, approx. 18inch long natural hair. During the application process I began experiencing discomfort as I could feel a distinct burning/tingling sensation on my scalp. I informed Martha about straight away, but as the discomfort was manageable, I trusted her to know what she was doing. Despite her surprise (as this should be a completely painless procedure) she continued the application process. This consisted of two separate 45min sessions in which she let the product sit in my hair, followed by washing, drying and straightening each time. During the 10 days following the procedure I began experiencing hair breakage and hair loss. I informed Martha 5 days after experiencing hair damage, hoping this would soon stop and thinking it was a natural consequence of exposing my hair to a chemical treatment after year. But my hair continued breaking and falling out. Her response was: do you have alopecia? (which she knew I did not suffer from, as she had done my hair before) and then she advised a homemade remedy consisting of spinach, egg and garlic. I contacted her in the subsequent weeks asking for some kind of refund/real solution. She never responded to calls/messages, not even to apologise or defend her actions. I don't often leave reviews, especially if my experience wasn't great, as I usually hope it was a one-time occasion. I usually prefer not to taint a business' reputation. Hence, it took me some time to even write this one. In this instance, however, Martha's complete lack of interest in providing help or addressing the issue left me speechless. Often, for women of African descent like myself, it it very challenging to manage and grow long hair, so I took a lot of pride in mine. My hair is now greatly damaged and it will take years for it to regrow. Knowing this could have been avoided if this hairdresser had listened or taken the necessary precautions is truly heartbreaking. Avoid.

To be honest, it's probably just a much better place for hair than for eyebrows. Had my brows threaded here after desperately looking for a good place in Prague. Martha is a sweetheart, but in terms of threading, my eyebrows have rarely looked as damaged as after visiting this saloon: while I wanted to keep them thick and explicitely asked so, I ended up leaving the place with 2 thin, bleeding and asymetric lines. Normally, beauticians use scissors and tweezers to define and sculpt the brow first, Martha starts straight with the thread. I am used to threading and have experienced quite some salons but this time, the procedure was unusually painful and I bled a few times. Martha did not apply any desinfection. During each session I had had, I was asked to "help" by applying my hands on my eyelids in order to keep the skin straight while the beautician uses the thread - this time, it was not the case and as a result, the eyebrows were done chaotically and the result was an awkward, asymetrical shape. Too bad! I'll keep on looking for THE ultimate threading place in Prague, or just return to my usual tweezer method.

Went here for dreads. Martha told me she had a lot of experience and could easily do them for me. I trusted her and paid an exuberant amount of money only to be very disappointed. She used a lot of thread and didn't know how to properly crochet. After 5+ hours, you can see the results in the photo. Luckily I found someone who combed out what Martha did and redid it perfectly for less than half the price and less time too. Maybe Martha can do other styles but I don't recommend her for locks.

The most thing I regret in my whole life is visiting this salon! I did hair treatment (keratin) and they burned my hair from roots to the end, though my hair is not silky at all and I always do the treatment to remove the nature waves I have I am crying every day for what they did to my hair :( I should say it was my first and my last, now I will have to look for a professional hairdresser to fix what they damaged and burned !

Highly recommend! I came to Martha's salon with extremely dry hair, damaged with chlorine in swimming pools and painting for years. She offered me a deep conditioning treatment which made my hair beautiful and smooth again. Afterwards she advised how to care about my hair and recommended properly adjusted products. Everything in a great atmosphere and professional approach:) Martha, thank you very much one more time:)

Owner (Martha) is very kind person with individual approach to customers. She speaks many languages (English, Czech, French and some more), so her saloon is perfect place for foreigners. I am Martha's customer for more than 10 years and not going to change it.

Great spacious place with a very friendly lady. She has great hands and does excellent braiding. And she also has a lot of knowledge of hair health and care with all natural products. Top spot. Totally recommended.
