This hotel failed my family, with 3 small children, in providing a safe and quiet place to sleep. We stayed for one night, and after 10pm we started hearing extremely loud music and singing from the room directly below us. The party was approximately 20 teenagers and was so loud we could clearly hear the words to the songs and beat of the music. I contacted the front desk and they sent the security guard. The guard told me he would “talk to” the occupants of the room, but offered no remedy or promises. Of course the group continued to party mere minutes after getting the “talking to.” I called the front desk and stated we could not sleep due to the party. Since the hotel could not fix the issue, and was apparently unwilling to stop the party, I asked for another room. I was told the hotel was at maximum capacity. The front desk did not offer any other remedy. After I told the front desk we would have to move to another hotel, he magically found another room for us in an adjacent building. Do you want to move your family of 5, with all the related baggage, to a different building at 11pm? If yes, you should consider this hotel. Of course they didn’t even offer to help us with our bags. For the icing on the cake, one of the partygoers threatened us in front of the security guard as we switched rooms. Of course the security guard did nothing. In the morning I contacted the front desk, in person, and spoke with Dom. He was apparently aware we had to move rooms in the middle of the night. He took down my number and told me “I’ll make sure someone reaches out.” I didn’t want to post this negative review without giving the management an opportunity to make it right, but no one has reached out. There are TONS of awesome resorts in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area. Skip this one, you’ll thank me.

We usually stay at the Arizona Grand resort. This year we decided to stay more north. We come down every year for a staycation in the summertime. By chance we decided to stay here at the Marriott. The hotel was offering a special but it was still quite expensive. That's when we saw the villas were cheaper. The rooms are large and spacious and were perfect for my family and I. There are so many activities around the property. You can use the grills, there's pickleball, basketball, and so many other things to do. They have barbecue grills that you can use at your leisure. There are three pools. One was a smaller kids pool that was no more than 2 ft deep. Second pool was the main pool which was definitely catered to the family and it was no more than 5 ft at the deepest end. But for the most part it was shallow. It has a waterfall and water volleyball and other events for the kids. The on-site bar was amazing. The food that you can get poolside was very good. Alongside the pool there were games like foosball, table tennis, shuffleboard and others. This resort is definitely catered towards families. We would definitely come back. The grounds were kept clean and the staff was all amazing and nice. Definitely would recommend if you have a family and you want to stay and do activities with them. My only complaint like most all resorts is that there was a lack of parking. But for the most part, you will be spending most of your time on the ground swimming, so that might not be an issue.

We booked flights from Canada to Arizona and chose this hotel for Friday and Saturday, entirely based on the information that we could use the neighbouring JW Marriott resort water park. This was following a two night stay at another Marriott property downtown where our room was under construction during our stay, with electricians in and out of our room. To put it lightly, we were looking forward to a change of scenery which wasn’t the inside of a torn apart hotel room. On check in (which was a nightmare in itself) we were informed that we cannot use the neighbouring facilities on Friday and Saturday, but we are able to do so on Sunday. Our flight is at 6 am Sunday. The young staff seemed to enjoy this. Marriott has gone completely downhill. The pool on site at Canyon Villas is quite small and chaotic for the amount of guests present. We ended up spending over $1,000.00 to stay at the JW Marriott instead, and the Canyon Villas refused to refund our room that we did not stay in. We are quite loyal Marriott members - this is our 27th night at a Marriott property in the last 60 days, and we wont be returning to another Marriott property after this experience.

Look elsewhere. Did a points stay with the hotel. They confirmed they had handicap accessible rooms available leading up to check-in. When we arrived, we were told that they only have 3 on the whole property and they had been occupied already for weeks and will remain occupied for at least another month. They attempted to accommodate as best as they could, providing shower chairs but they simply did not fit in the bathtub rooms (all rooms have Tubs, no Showers). After two nights, it just wasn't working and wasn't safe to shower. We notified the hotel. They said they would try to accomodate us at another property nearby, and I also reached out to Bonvoy as well. The hotel offered an option that was too far and frankly a significant downgrade to their accommodations, so we moved to the JW next door. We were told we would get the remainder of the points balance refunded. Now a month later, still no refund even though we checked out on time and only stayed 2 of the 5 days. Outside of that, the property is dated and upkeep is lacking, which could simply be a result of COVID. Its in a nice location, but con be inconvenient if you are in one of the far buildings away from the main.

Just did a staycation here, had a wonderful time and made new friends. Would have given it 5 stars but they took the shuttle bus away to go to the Marriott resort water park. Now you either walk or drive, if you drive there is a $10.00 for six hour parking fee, we were told upon leaving parking lot to press the call button if they don't answer the gate, It automatically opens or if they answer to say you lost or didn't get your ticket back from validation. Marriott water park you need wrist bands that you pickup at the office, Every day it's a different color, Friday and Saturday Canyon Villa residents cannot get into Marriott resort water park unless you PAY the water park fee. Also the only food at the villa's is the Canyon grill so plan ahead if you want to go to the market or restaurants without a car you will have to do Uber. Hope this helps as we were told Nothing about this when we booked

Always lovely at this resort. Ben at check in was very nice and accommodating . The gentleman at the poolside bar/grill was very helpful, friendly and remembered our names and villa number. The guys doing towel service were friendly and had a great sense of humor!! However…when we checked in at 7pm ish, they had us booked in a ground floor room, even though we stay here every couple years, our preferences are noted as upper floor and we’re 5-star Elite owners. Ben was great. He had to call a mgr, but the manager was so rude! She walked up, never acknowledged us, never asked us about anything…never thanked us for being 5-Star owners, put us in a second floor villa and walked off. Never been so disrespected by a manager in my life!! She definitely needs customer service training!! Ben was very helpful but could only do so much. She was just plain rude. Btw, we checked all our emails and spam, there was no email asking about our preferences on this trip…although the preferences are always n our profile! An apology from management is in order!

It might be nice for a small family. The rooms are narrower than most but the depth is standard, overall tiny. The pools and spa are where it's at here. Lots of activities listed on the calendar given upon arrival. It's a unique Marriott experience in that it's also a timeshare. Now the concierge part, that's just downright annoying and shifty. They give you a "special card that gives you offers and amenities" that you must physically take to the concierge in order to even find out what it's about. This must be done between the hrs of 10a and 5p. I couldn't just turn it in or get the offers when I got back from work. Also, nobody would actually say what exactly was offered or "rewarded" when claimed. It seemed shifty and the attitudes of the front desk staff only worked to exacerbate the situation. So you show up, they say you're going to get great things as a Platinum member but they won't dare share what that/they may be. It's the lack of candid transparency that pushed me away from interacting with any staff at the resort. I was made to feel like I was a pain in their life, not a guest.

I live in Boston and took my kids out there for their spring break. The Marriott Canyon Villas did not disappoint! We stayed in a room with a king size bed and couch. It fit us perfectly. We packed light and all three of shared one big luggage bag in the closet and that was big enough, but if you had more than one large luggage bag you might have a hard time finding space for it as the rooms are a bit narrow. The pool was amazing and my kids spent hours there almost every day! The water was heated to 84 degrees and always clean. The staff is a pleasant and helpful. I loved that we were able to use JW’s amenities and that there was a quick shuttle to get over there, which is prob a 1/4 miles away. There were activities every day, through out the day. We loved our chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches on the main patio. I loved it there and definitely plan on returning!

First time staying at Marriott Villas and I was suitably satisfied. Rooms were spacious and well lit, the beds were comfortable, though the pillows could be improved. Everything was clean and worked well, no issues with checking in or anything of the like. The pools are great, very well maintained and very clean. This goes for the pools at the villas and the pools at the hotel which guests also have access to. The lazy river was great. Very little to complain about. The toiletries would be better if they were moisturizing and were less harsh - they left skin feeling very dry which wasn't pleasant. The bathroom could have been better too. Would definitely stay again. Excellent all round experience.

Beautiful place that is well kept and very clean. So many wonderful amenities and just love the free courses like Aqua Fit in the morning that are offered. The people and service are incredible! Our blow dryer wasn't working and I had to leave for a family reunion 10 minutes later. They immediately brought a new one from the front desk. One area of improvement could be the breakfast on the weekend. $30 for two, each got three pancakes and it was served with plastic plates/silverware and no hot coffee or tea available! That was the only disappointment this week. We would love to come back here anytime and highly recommend it!

Parking: Plenty of parking for each building. Customer Service: Some staff were friendly, and some are not willing enough to help the customers and answer questions. Best Part: This hotel has so many fun activities! They have a kitty pool with lots of fountains, and some more kids water park stuff, they also have 2 or 3 big pools! Both the chocolate and mint chocolate chip works ice creams were delicious. Worst Part: In the room, the USB ports were broken, and the sliding door to the balcony was also broken. My phone kept not charging, however, luckily we rented a Tesla Model 3 for our trip and I just used its wireless charger for my phone to get to 100%. I got a blister from the pool as well. Return: Maybe.

Stayed here for a week and loved it. The pool is nice, breakfast on Friday was yummy and the service great. The rooms need a little updating and weren’t perfectly clean, but still in the 4.5/5 range. The Villas are nicely found near food, groceries, theatre, the 101 HWY and about 30 mins from most area like Scottsdale and Glendale. Be sure to go to the Musical Instrument Museum which is nearby. Took about 25 from the airport. We stayed in a one room suite which had a small table, porch, microwave, full fridge, toaster, and coffee maker. Was perfect for our week. Will come back when back in Phoenix.

Overall it's a nice property especially if golfing is what you're looking for. There are three pools, the main, kids, and a "quite" one which were nice but if you're staying at either end of the property it's a nice walk to the main pool. The one bedroom is a nice size but can be rather dark at times even if the sun is out and the curtains are wide open. Think it could be because it was facing north so no sun ever shined in the room. The lockout/economy room is not very roomy and very dark all day. One thing they should do is get rid of the stale smell in the rooms. Luckily it wasn't overwhelming and would dissipate when the patio door was open. Otherwise it's a very nice property.

This vacation club is so primo. I have been to the villas three times in the past three months and each time is better than the previous! The front desk team is amazing. Elizabeth checked me in and was so kind and informative. A nice young man (who's name I cannot recall) assisted me prior to check in and check out. But I have to give a huge shout out to Farah . She is so kind, she remembered me, welcomed me back, and even hand delivered a special gift since I was celebrating my bachelorette party. This team was beyond accommodating and made my stay memorable. 10 STARS ALL DAY. I will be back!

Normally I would give them all 5s but not this time. Towels were old and rough, I had rust spots in my bathtub, was there for a week and we didn't have service on our room, it's a 10 day minimum at the property, activities were cancelled at the last minute, there was a fire maintenance event that happened and my noisy neighbors outside having their family activities at 3:30 am was an early wake up that I didn't need. You spend a lot for Marriott and expect a higher quality level. It felt cheap and dated this trip.

My family owns a time share with Marriott. Lately, they seem to be getting very cheap. Charging its guest $4.50 for a small cup of coffee. News flash: your no Dutch Brothers. Also, you would think as a time share owner we could use the other resorts lazy river for free. Nope they want money to park and use the facility. The person who sold us the timeshare said we could use any of the facilities at no cost just to sell us this thing. Marriott, you have a lot of making up to do for those of us who pay your fees just to come and be Nickle, and Dimed by your company greed. Boo!

This was our 3d visit here. Had a 2 bedroom unit. The second room was a lock off. Spent 7 days there. A few items did need attention. Phones didn't work just keep beeping and the curtains didnt move. Booked 2 extra days here using points from the credit card. Another 2 bedroom unit. Prior to our trip I received the usual call from Marriott. We will have to move after our 7 night stay to a regular 2 bedroom. This unit is larger . Staff were great and the room move was quick Enjoy these Villas. Pros: 1. Good place for small family 2. A few pools 3. Access to JW Marriott pool 4. Free parking, covered Cons: 1. Check in at 4pm, check out at 10am. We arrived at 3:50pm and our room wasn't ready until 5pm. Asked if we could have a late check out. Which was denied because "an owner" was reserved to arrive. We hung around with family that were across the hall and housekeeping didn't arrive until 11:30am. 2. Our unit could've used a deep clean. 3. Splash pads weren't fully operating. 4. Won't accept cash at pool bar/restaurant.

We have stayed at the Villas several times while visiting family in Phoenix. We always thoroughly enjoy our stay here. The staff is super friendly and hospitable. We usually stay in the villa with the full kitchen, living area, and bedroom. Spacious and very clean. Also has a small balcony with a patio table and chairs. Kiddie pool is great for small children and the big pool is nice with a game area, bar and grill. Great family atmosphere with plenty of restaurant choices and shopping nearby.

This is a great Marriott property with full access to the larger, more exclusive JW Marriott resort, which is just a few minutes walk from the Canyon Villas. There is a large main pool area near the lobby that offers fantastic food and beverage service, at a price of course. The rooms were spacious, each building is easily accessible to Uber rides/transport, and there are a million dining options just down the road at Desert Ridge. Highly recommend!

This place was great. Such a great value for the room you get. It's a small hotel but very nice to be at. The only thing I had a problem with was that there is no actual restaurants, just the pool bar in case you want to get food. If you want to get food before or after it closes, you have to go to the JW Marriott 1 mile down the road or farther out. I didn't enjoy the JW Marriott. We got the 2 bedroom suite and we all fit comfortably and it was nice inside.

The reason for 2 stars for it's location is that our villa was at 2 roads that crossed( one is a very busy road constantly) and it was so noisy you couldn't enjoy the balcony and even with the windows closed, it was extremely noisy. Not the quiet vacation I was expecting.. 3 stars for service because when complaining about the road or other problems( washroom not cleaned well...hair in the shower...gross...they didn't really care. The expectation for a $540 a night place is so much higher than what we got

This place is a gem! The facility is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. The 2 bedroom villas are the size of a modest home and great for a family of 5-6. Parking easy. Staff friendly and helpful. The pools are lovely. You can also use the lazy river at the JW Marriott across the street. Get there at 9 for an empty river and lots of relaxation. Wasn’t impressed at all… this was supposed to be a resort but I stayed there for a week and had no cleaning. I called to ask for cleaning and new towels, but they said due to covid, there is no cleaning but they can bring me sheets. Yet no one wears a mask and it was like Disney world at the pool. People everywhere As ambassador elite there were additional benefits- no early checkin, no late checkout, no room upgrades. There was no breakfast offered except Friday and Saturday at an additional charge. I won’t be back.

  • Jessica Diaz

The price was fantastic but the room we got was older. Which older is usually fine but there were bugs. I understand it’s Summer in Phoenix but there were just too many. I believe a couple were water beetles- but I know one was a tick. We went to pick it up to throw it outside and it popped and blood went everywhere. Ugh just a turn off. But we didn’t want to switch rooms because we had family next door and just staying a couple days so we just kept it moving. Just a heads up for you all.

  • Bill Niester

A very nice hotel suite setup. I didn't find it particularly special in anyway other than the enormous hot tub outside the farthest building from the lobby. Bldg 23 I believe. Also the rooms on the north side of that building are right over the water treatment\AC unit and it sounds like constant white noise if you're on the balcony. The main pool area was closed while there so I can't comment on that. Location wise, it is very convenient to many first class golf courses and restaurants.

  • Katie O'Neil

This was a very nice resort that was very similar to Palm Desert's. Rooms were spacious and very clean, lovely balcony views and conveniently close to the JW Marriott so we could walk to dinner, Starbucks, or explore. Didn't seem too far out of the way in Phoenix as everything takes 20 minutes anyways so would definitely return and try to see more of what the resort had to offer.

Overall the property was fun for our family. They have some nice pools and sports courts to play on. The rooms were a little dated and we found some dog hairs in our room (we don’t have a dog). Our sister-in-law also cut her foot open on a tile in the main pool. It was nice to have access to the JW Marriott which is across the street which had very nice pools/lazy river.

Overall this property is really nice. The amenities are great and the staff is friendly and helpful. I can’t give it 5 stars though because the pillows are absolute garbage. They’re huge firm foam pillows that gave me a neck ache. Getting a good night’s sleep is the most important thing for any hotel/resort, and this one failed in that category.

Everything under the sun that you can ask for was basically available and plenty of kids activities where available. Our two bedroom was spacious and very nice. The property has tons of recreation to get involved with from the clubhouse to other parts of the resort. Also Wide Fire golf course runs through the property as well.

Loved my stay here and can't wait to come back. Our room was huge and spotlessly clean. We also enjoyed both pools, especially the spa pool. I can't wait to visit again

State a full week. The property is convenient to the highway and all sorts of shopping and restaurants. It's also a short drive to many trails UVT rentals and the sort. The property is always clean the staff is always extremely nice and the pool is great. We'll be back.

Everything is fine at this resort...EXCEPT for the RAZOR THIN WALLS/FLOORS/CEILINGS. Woken up at 5:00a every morning by the inconsiderate guests above us. REQUEST a TOP FLOOR room or deal with the consequences.

Room was clean but dated and we could hear the neighbors fighting and kids crying through the walls. What services we used (virtually none) were good.

We stayed here to weeks. 1st week we had someone above us that started pounding at 9:30 pm and didn’t stop until around 1 or 2 am. We were in what they called a studio and it was more like a hotel room. The 2nd week we were moved into a 1

I love this property. It's laid out well. Friendly staff. We actually used to live in Anthem and we would bring the grandkids here when they would visit. Now we stay here when we come back to town. Gives us a home away from home!;

This place is amazing, very Family Oriented. Everyone we have met so far is very kind, they have multiple games to play around your villas. They have a Large pool that my kids Love, it's very Quiet and peaceful.

  • Payton Grover

Really nice rooms and service, but the kid pool was a super rough bottom. It looked like they had to plans to refinish that pool soon though.
