I have shopped at this store a couple times a month for the past year or so. I will not be giving them any more of my business. Bad business ethics! Attached in my review is a picture of the store's return policy. The photo is taken at an angle that looks like it says 4 days, but it says 14. It was a bad angle, but if you zoom in on the picture, you can see part of the 1. (I have a video of it that shows it clearly in case the store owner reads this and says differently). Do not rely on it if you have questions regarding their policy. Also, do not ask their employees about the policy, as they do not know it. I will explain. I purchased some snow boots for my pups about a week ago. Before making the purchase, I asked the employee if I would be able to return the boots if they were the wrong size, to which he replied, "yes." I was unable to see if they fit my pups as they would not let me entertain the idea of putting them on them. When I brought them back to return them, there was a different employee working. This employee did not know what the return policy was. I pointed to the sign and he stated that he would call the owner bc he had not been trained on the policy and didn't know how to process it. The owner was unavailable. He asked me to come back in a couple of days. Upon returning a couple of days later, that same employee was working and said that the owner told him that boots were not a returnable item. As the employee I bought them from said they were, and the return policy sign makes no mention of these items (It does specify that crates are not returnable. So, the owner obviously considered items they would not accept back when constructing the policy). I informed the employee that I would like to speak with the owner. He called the owner, who would not speak with me, and reiterated that they would not accept the boots for return. There was no inquiry on the condition of the items. They do not have a mark on them and are in the original packaging, accompanied by the receipt, which meet all requirements indicated on the return policy. They would not have lost money on this return as I was going to use the store credit for some other items. It is unfortunate that this store owner runs their business this way. The employees should be properly trained, the return policy is useless and in contradiction with my situation, and they have now lost a consistent customer. I don't get it, and unfortunately, the only thing I can do is write a review. Hopefully this informs the public on this stores business ethics and prevents someone from falling into the same trap that I did.

Worst store I’ve ever shopped at. First, they sold me a cat litter for a more expensive price. When I came back there to ask for my money, they said they could only give me a store credit. Then when I went back there for the third time to use my store credit, they told me they didn’t “recognize” this credit and I couldn’t use it. (The same guy who sold me the litter for the wrong price). I asked to talk to the owner of the store. They put me on the phone with him and he told me that “the guy who gave me the credit had surgery and he didn’t know when he was coming back and I could only get this store credit with him. WHAT??? After a long discussion, he wouldn’t admit that he was the one who sold me the littler for more expensive, he gave me the store credit money in cash, told me I couldn’t buy there and basically kicked me out of the store - told me to “take the money and leave”. I have never been so mistreated at a store. I’m NEVER going back there. HORRIBLE service. I’m in shock!

This is a review of their Dekalb ave store - First off, everything in here is highly inflated prices for very old, nearly expired products . Literally the bodega two blocks down has the same can of dog food for $3 when he is selling it for $9 and I'm pretty sure the bodega's can is newer. That alone should get you to skip this shoddily run business. The larger and more concerning issue is the owner's relationship with the community. He has referred to my Korean Girlfriend as a "chinaman" on more than one occasion. He also openly discriminates against our black neighbors and his own customers. Don't shop here. Don't support divisive businesses. On top of that, the owner refuses to wear a mask in his cramped, crowded and cluttered store so enter at your own risk.

Our dog demands that we go here because he loves the owner, who's always super nice to both of us. My kid was born on the same week as his grandkid, so we always check in. We've been coming here for years, and Leo's been getting free treats for years. They have the good brand of dog food we want, and also nonscented doggie bags (those perfumed ones are gross) and they've never let us down. And seriously, Leo gets so fired up when we get on that block that if I know it's too early for the store to be open I have to take him on a different route so I don't crush his little heart.

RUDE LIL SHORT GUY W BLACK GLASSES Although I live close to a wonderful pet store. It was a beautiful day, so I decided to walk to ABC Pet Supply on Dekalb Ave. What a MISTAKE! The little short guy in front, wearing black rim glasses is miserable and very rude. He ignored my simple questions, overlooked me to help “another” customer and was very blatant about it. There was absolutely no reason for his disgusting behavior. Thankfully every Dog has its day.

This last post must be a lie. The store does not carry a large variety. Super expensive. For example: My wife bought 5 small cans of KMR kitten milk for 8.99 here. The same cans I buy for 3.99 at petland. A few blocks away. I understand a dollar or two, but double. Come on now. Made my wife return the items that we got ripped off on. And only gave us store credit so we can get ripped off again.

The cutest cat manager in store! This is a great shop that carries most brand names items for both cats and dogs. The owner is super nice and the prices are one of the more affordable in the area. They also carry carriers, toys and dental treatment. Quality items for reasonable pricing

Favorite pet store with specially selected options (good choices with different quality tiers). The owner is very friendly and the cat is always sure to greet customers at the door. Support your local pet shop

I asked how much a harness was and he said $16.99 and I was charged $19.59. I asked why was it that much and he said tax. There is no way that tax is that high. I'm never going back.

A bit expensive, which is to be expected of a small local pet store, but the owner is friendly and the wide selection of cat food is nice to have nearby.

Though they had the cat food I needed, the guy was super rude. It was also very pricey. I prefer Animal Fare. Won't go back to this place.

  • khadijah shakur

items are way overpriced. I purchased a small container of catnip which I was charge $4.99 which is way too much for that....

  • Peter Casanave

It is small and jam packed. Service is good. Size means somewhat less choices, the only reason for less than top ranking.
