ughhhh i freakin’ love this place. lovejoy is so amazing, i recommend it to everyone i know, my friends, my dates, my mom, my therapist, just literally anybody. it is one of the first places i really loved when i moved to portland & i often try to make eating breakfast from there part of my morning routine. their scrambled egg sandwiches are the best, esp with bacon… and the coffee isn’t too bad either they have lots of really great menu options for breakfast & dinner and it’s just a good place to chill! their to-go packaging is very cute and classy. the baristas are friendly enough, but they don’t bug you/aren’t overly friendly, which i appreciate (genuinely!). it’s in a perfect part of town, where it’s busy but not often crazy-busy… at least, it’s not when i go there. maybe i’m just lucky! anyway… what else is good there. if you sit inside you can look through the big windows at the streets and just see passers-by, which is fun & super great/convenient/gorg when it’s raining… if you sit outside you can see the green trees && the streetcar passing along! love it! it’s just so chill. & not too far from a really awesome park too with some really beautiful trees! overall, if you’re thinking of trying out lovejoy bakers, i would definitely recommend it to you. :)
I would give zero stars if possible. When I was sitting at the family style table there was loud rock and roll playing from the kitchen as well as loud overhead piano music. I asked staff if we could turn off one of the music sources as it was distracting and difficult to focus on my conversation with my friend. Staff responded by saying that if I had a problem with it then I could move to the front room or leave. I was shocked by this response and pleaded that there wasn't sufficient seating for us in the front room. Then after about 10 mins of sitting at the family style table, staff came over to us and asked us to move somewhere else because we were "in the way". We were sitting at a table that was put out by the restaurant with chairs and very confused. Staff said that if someone wanted to use the bathroom or go into the kitchen it felt intrusive to have to walk past us and we were no longer allowed to sit at the table. We moved to a corner to finish our mediocre sandwich and quickly left. I have loved coming to LoveJoy Bakery for years and I am sad to say that I will never return. Moreover, I am embarrassed that I recommended to my friend to eat there.
It's too bad the food is not as good as the service. I was generally disappointed with everything besides the brownie. We ordered a smashed chickpea sandwich, tuna melt, croissant, and a brownie. All the pastries displayed not having a name tag so I had to reach over the glass to point. Oh well not really a big deal... So the sandwich menu says "available after 11am" but the cashier said they are available all day... if I never made a comment about that I would of never known.. why don't they erase it After about 15 minutes of waiting at a single long table that felt crowded next to other guests. We got our food. The sandwiches felt small, the chickpea was okay but the biggest disappointment was the tuna. It looked like it was literally just tuna and bread. I didn't even see the cheese at first. I thought they forgot it. It was there but just a few shreds. No lettuce, tomato, onion etc.... Subways tuna across the street is surprising waaaay better. Shocking I know... Likely won't be coming back I hope this reaches mamagent and they can address the issues.
Smashed chickpea sandwich and iced latte were fine but not remarkable and the wait was super long (took over 30m from the time I placed my pickup order for it to be ready - a solid 10m longer than the estimate when I placed the order). I wonder if something was weird about my order because multiple walkin people arrived and received their food during the time I waited even though I arrived 10-15m after placing my order. They also said they would bring it out to me when ready but I stared longingly at my order in the window for a bit (still late relative to eta) and then eventually awkwardly grabbed it myself. I'm fine to grab, but it seemed like they didn't want customers coming in so it was awkward. Along those lines...to each their own but be aware you can't walk in the door without a mask and they clearly are nervous about people being inside even then, only allow one customer at a time, etc. I feel for service workers and businesses it was just overall a not awesome experience for decent but not exciting food.
I was very excited to try this place out but was in a bit of a time crunch so thought it was best to order online through DoorDash but oh I was wrong. When we got there we waited in line and ordered a latte which was perfectly fine but I had asked about the online order and the cashier with orange hair had just pushed off the request of finding out how long it would be on my order and just pointed to where orders would come out. So we waited about 50 minutes to then go up an ask again about the order only to discover that their DoorDash system was down even though orders could still be accepted and PAID for… and after all of that she was to clueless to help us after to even type in the order and fire it up for us to finally get food but instead just said I don’t know and walked away. Great costumer service! Don’t waste your time ordering online. Oh also didn’t turn off the door dash system off until we had mentioned it but they had already known it was down..
I've eaten here before. The portions were generous, the food was carefully, lovingly prepared, and it was served with pride by cheerful, helpful wait staff. It was everything we had been told we could expect from Lovejoy Bakery. However, this time the experience was different. The wait staff was as happy and kind as before. The surroundings were clean, neat and inviting. Nonetheless, it seemed like the person preparing the food did not care about the quality so much as the appearance. The sandwiches we ordered were appetizing and artfully presented with a flourish. But after taking the first bite we discovered that the bread was stale and tough, the roast beef was obviously some of the last that was available, there was gristle in the meat, and it was not adequate for the price. We determined that we probably would have gotten a better set of sandwiches at Subway for half the price! Come on, Lovejoy Bakery, you can do better than that!
Great place for coffee and different kinds of sweet delicacies. The hot chocolate here is great. The views are great. It can get a bit loud in there, but nothing that is overwhelming. The crowd there is more on the older side. The food is tasty, and the coffee is good. If you're looking for really sweet coffee, make sure you mention it. Staff is friendly. There can be a bit of a line here during mornings (every day), though that's not a negative for me as you know from my other reviews. Bakery items are handed to you immediately when you order. Coffee is either given to you immediately or you have to go pick it up when your name is called. Any non-bakery food item that's not a drink is brought to your table. Good free WiFi. It's located nicely at a corner. Parking is hard if you're driving here, but not impossible. I recommend this place for its bread items and then hot chocolate.
Over-priced terrible food. Just had a $40 lunch with my fiance. A salad that was supposed to have prosciutto on it (that's the reason I ordered) it came out with salami from that looked like its from Safeway and three tiny slices of turkey. I asked the staff about it and he didn't know if was supposed to be on there or not. He asked the cook and the cook told me the supplier has been out of it. Lame excuse. The staff member said he would get me a refund then he disappeared. The bread on the sandwich was hard.it supposed to be a bakery.....The kitchen area is soo dirty and you buss your own tables that then never get wiped off. I'm over it. I'm fine spending money where I see the value of good fresh ingredients. Anyway the food and service not worth it.

It's incredible when a restaurant cares this much about COVID-19 safety measures. The food itself is onanother level, it's FANCY, GOOD BREAKFAST! The kind young staff is perky and peppy and speedy and ready to help. Waiting a few minutes for a coffee or breakfast order is never an issue when the product is this good and the the service is this friendly. I feel safe making this one of the select few places I still visit during these trying times. Thank you, LOVEJOY! Thank you to the openhearted staff! Special thanks to the staff member Llake, who took my order, made my coffee, and wished me a great day. I could see their massive smile right through their mask. I will be coming back constantly, and will certainly be telling all my friends about this place.
Used to love this place, as I live across the street. However, I've noticed inconsistent pricing (I've been charged $8.25 for a sandwich and then over $11 for the same one a different day), which can be frustrating. In addition, they shut off their online ordering FAST (checked at 11 am and couldn't order), and there is no way to contact the store as it's impossible to reach someone on the phone. So, pricing and customer service- I understand it can get busy, but at least provide some ability to order for later, I can't even place an order in advance at times- leaves much to be desired. They used to have day-old bread as well, but they stopped doing that sadly too. The quality of the food seems fine, it's just impossible to order!
The bakery has an open floor plan with lots of seating inside as well as outside! Right as you walk in you are greeted by an employee and they are ready to assist you with any questions you may have. I ordered a sandwich, the roasted eggplant and mozzarella sandwich. It was nice and toasty with really great flavor and was not oily! The sandwich also came with a side which I was unaware of which was potato salad. I also order iced tea, they had 3 options, black, green and peppermint tea! I went with black and it was awesome. It is expensive tho. 10.75 is far too much for a sandwich... but hey, we are in the pearl district!! With the tea my total was at 12 something. Good quality and service, wish it was cheaper but whatever lol
Food is good, but the people working here are incompetent. Either they lack proper training or don’t care. When it says my order is ready for pickup, but upon arriving they say “it didn’t go through” that is confusing. You confirm my order, take my money, tell me my order is ready, and then act confused like I never ordered something when I show up. This happened twice in a row. Consider investigating how you receive orders via apps. Doesn’t look like any of the staff know what they’re doing. Seating people during COVID in an area where the staff and people having to walk through the line is also shortsighted and inconsiderate.
I've worked in the kitchen of Lovejoy Bakers since around the beginning of last summer and I've never had more love for the people I've worked with in Portland before coming here. No matter what people think or do, the team that I've gotten the pleasure to work with and know has stepped up to the plate and done their best, no matter what the circumstances are. These people gave me hope in humanity again.. They showed me kindness and understanding no matter how they were feeling themselves. They are absolutely wonderful people and I hope that every single one of them knows that they are loved, they matter and they are worthy.
Slowest cafe in the world that solely makes it money on outrageously overpriced resold LaCroix waters. Workers would rather stand around talking than get the line moving. Last three times I’ve gone in I’ve spent 10+ minutes waiting in line just to be told they’re out of everything I attempt to order. Other review responses going back 6 months now show the owners continue to blame customers and new staff for their shortcomings while promising change that never comes. Do not support this business if you’re looking to enjoy a quality meal without hassle - I recommend Urban Pantry 1 block north.
Disappointing. Great location and design, but the food was subpar and service virtually non-existent. I ordered the "Lovejoy Breakfast", pretty pricey for scrambled eggs, potatoes, and ham. I also order an Americano coffee. Waited 20 minutes and spotted an employee carrying a plate of food, and looking confused. I asked if it was mine, and was finally served, but no coffee. No silverware either. Waited some more. Potatoes are obviously store-bought, frozen, just re-nuked. No butter on the toast, no butter served. Coffee finally arrived, but no cream/no sugar. Disappointed, and $18 poorer.
I have been excited to try this place for months - smells incredible whenever I run by, and the outdoor seating is just so tempting with good weather. The sausage breakfast sandwich, monkey bread and poppyseed muffins, and cappuccino that we ordered were pretty good but a bit disappointing overall. Poppyseed muffin was very dry, sandwich wasn’t as flavorful as it could have been (needed some seasoning!), and the coffee honestly tasted a little stale. I’d probably still give the place another try due to the number of options and outdoor seating, though.
So I have been going regularly for a few years now getting oatmeal. It used to be A+ until one of the main cooks put his spin on it by loading it up with sugar and cinnamon making it too sweet to eat. I’ve pointed this out on so many occasions to no avail. It’s a shame because when that cook is working the oatmeal in not eatable in my opinion. Maybe someone will finally take note. I have to call before going sometimes to see who prepared oatmeal or opened and will bypass my visit if it’s that cook. Would love feedback from owner on this. I am a regular
Need to Re-New the new breakfast burrito! It comes with a spinach tortilla and homestyle potatoes with onion and chorizo with a vegan soy chorizo option and scrambled eggs. You have probably had many breakfast burritos that were better. I added pico de gallo ($0.75) which they forgot to give me. The chorizo was burnt but there were plenty of slightly over browned potatoes that didn’t taste fresh made and just a hint of onion. Not worth $9.50. There were three grill orders ahead of me (take out only)and every order took 15 minutes
This is a great place. I’ve loved every baked good (loaves of bread included) I’ve had here, the food is always good, the drip coffee is delicious, and the service is very nice. There are a lot of good places to sit as well. I only wish they had a larger selection of pastries. You have to get the everything croissant, so good.

I have to give a shout out to Kiana for making my experience a true pleasure. She went the extra mile in providing me a new gift card after my two old ones could not be read by their current system. I had not been in the area for the past few years and her 'can do' attitude was much appreciated. It was a great feeling to be back in the 'pearl' neighborhood and receive such a warm welcome and fantastic customer service experience. thanks so much....Jeff
Nice and friendly staff, but food quality has dropped off considerably since new ownership. Pastries and croissants are hit or miss, sometime they're good and other times they're flat and doughy inside. Breakfast burrito had burnt chorizo meat that made it taste like the bottom of a burnt iron skillet, and they forgot to add the cheese that I paid a extra for. So sad because this place use to be great. Hoping they can get they're act together soon.
I decided it was time to try this place today. And what a journey it was, for me, my feet AND my taste buds. I ordered their BELT. Which is the bacon, egg, lettuce and tomatoes sandwich. And it was Devine. It came with a soup side, so I had to go with the cheddar-broccolli soup. It was perfect. I dipped my sandwich into the soup, because I'm not a monster, and they were perfect together. Do yourself a 'flavor' and take this journey yourself.
I've been coming to Lovejoy for some time now, always loving their avocado toast, baked goods, and great coffee (Starbucks is one block away and a joke in comparison). I was pleasantly surprised that they have managed to stay safe and open during quarantine but they've made it work, requiring masks and keeping the bodies outside but being super friendly and helpful when you're there. Thanks for being consistently open and available!
❤️Turkey cranberry ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - perfectly sweet and savory - had a little bit of crunch but was creamy at the same time - bread was slightly toasted Cubano ⭐⭐⭐ - I like how toasted it is - the mustard is solid - didn't wow me though! Italian sub ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I love how toasted it is - good quality salami ❤️Breakfast burrito ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - the pico de Gallo was so fresh - the potatoes were perfectly crunchy - favorite breakfast burrito so far
This place is sadly going downhill. This morning’s ciabatta was chewy, dense, and made me feel like I was eating day old bread. The almond croissant was equally disappointing. It was almond BREAD - dense, no layers, absolutely not a croissant. Whoever owns this place now needs to take a serious look at their baker - this is terrible and ruining the reputation of what used to be one of the best bakeries in all of Portland.
The cafe is nice to work in for hours, has plenty of plugs and very bright too at the front part. The mocha coffee is very good --I have them with regular and coconut milk and both are great. I enjoy their French onion soup and I got their sourdough too. Pleasant place to visit and meet friends; not too crowded/noisy. People who are working here are so far friendly and nice. Not sure why some people saying service is bad.
everything is delicious. the pastries, bakery items, and coffee are . the sandwiches are consistently well constructed. they don't salt anything tho, but it's good enough that I don't mind salting it myself and it seems like that's their intention. I'm a repeat customer now. I hard disagree with places not salting anything but if it's good and they keep salt out for those of us with taste I can forgive
This bakery is the best if you are in the Pearl District. I loved all the natural light and the clean bright interior.I was greeted by a kind and helpful employee named Llake. She was so kind, and had genuine conversation with her customers. She suggested the Roast Turkey sandwich with guacamole and bacon! Bomb! Like deliciousness exploding in your mouth good! Go check this place out! It will not disappoint.
So this may be my favorite bakery in Portland. Just a good solid bakery making good stuff. They brew water avenue coffee. All their breads are fresh and simply amazing. I have ordered their pumpkin pie and salted caramel tarte for the holidays and are amazingly delicious. Love this place for breakfast or lunch. Pictured below is a bacon egg and cheese on a baguette. Just amazing. I recommend highly. Enjoy!
I've gone every Friday morning for 1.5 years for one reason - excellent coffee and breakfast sandwiches or pastries. It's a wonderful atmosphere - typically somewhat crowded but we always get room at the large table for our group of five. Great staff who are cheerful and never screw up an order. This is by far my favorite spot in town. (Oh, and at lunch there are great sandwiches, soup and a glass of wine)
Avocado toast was nice. I had it with an over-easy egg, and it was tasty; however, I truly dislike they way they serve hot tea. By the time it hits the pass and one retrieves it, it is not hot enough to brew black tea. It is a lovely, bright space, lacks winter-time indoor seating, so we shared a table with an overly-affable person. Nice, but not sure I will be back for inside seating or lukewarm tea.
The coffee is excellent, sandwiches are tasty and service is impeccable. Highly recommended

The service here was amazing. All if the people working at the time were extremely friendly. I only got a roll and the roll was mediocre but definitely not bad. The jam served with it was grape and i am biased against grape jam so I guess that's not something to put in a review...oh wait! I'll probably come back to try their sourdough and update the review at that point.
Shady pricing. Have been charged 3 different non published prices for an egg and cheese croissant which, at any price ($8-11) seems expensive. Let them know about the discrepancy once and they said I was mischarged, then it happened again (at a different price). As I stand here writing this they just misplaced a customer’s order. Good food, but will not be coming back.
I'm so tempted not to write this review of LJB because it's my go-to work-and-think spot. The coffee is great, the baked goods abundant and even better, and the food options are really inventive and crafted with care. In nice weather, they're surrounded by Adirondack chairs facing out, as well as other seating that's more sheltered. It's all good for the soul.
The staff, was pretty rude. The kitchen had my food out and all the servers were just standing in a group chatting. When I asked about my food, I got a dirty look and it rudely handed to me. The food had been sitting there for 5+ minutes, the servers were all less than a yard from the food. Absolutely no apology for forcing me to inquire about my order.
A little pricier than other bakeries in the area, but a tasty spot for brunch! I can't wait for them to re-open up the dining area, so that my friends and I can eat inside. Pro tip- they can get pretty busy, so it's better to call ahead with your order. They also even let our dog come in (and she always gets a biscuit). Thanks so much Lovejoy Bakers! :)
Would have given this place 5 stars about 6 months ago. Since then, the food quality has dropped significantly and prices have increased. Honestly, some of the food I’ve gotten here lately has been near inedible with how bad it’s tasted. I’ve tried multiple times in case it was just a one-off fluke, but it’s pretty consistently bad. Oh well.
Good location. Friendly staff. Was a great place to grab a quick drink and chat and get back to the rest of the day’s calendar. Wish the tea options were payed out a bit more clearly. I’m sure there was plenty to pick from but not intuitively. A tea menu with options or more detail on the board would be helpful! Would definitely go back.
Excellent selection of baked goods and caffeinated drinks to keep you going. There fairly central location downtown also makes for great atmosphere. They have lots of seating inside with windows for people watching, as well as some great outdoor seating options. Friendly staff, though occasionally slower service since they can get busy.
Best most friendly bakery I been to in Portland area still have a few more to try but so far the best service, food, location, oh and the BEST AVOCADO TOAST EVER!!!! Yes, I can scream it out loud the bread the lemon zest the pinch of salt at the end it's a must try if trying to have a light healthy breakfast.
Wonderful neighborhood bakery in the Pearl District that open at 7am everyday so the early birds can get freshly made breakfast. They have a wide variety of baked goods, sandwiches as well as coffee and drinks, with a few small tables outside. Best bakery in town? Probably not, but it's pretty decent and convenient for the locals.
GREAT FOOD / HIT-OR-MISS STAFF: The food here is amazing, with large portions. Never a bad order. Staff unfortunately, are 50/50. Half the staff are absolutely lovely, mostly the ladies. The gentlemen, to be kind are mostly rude and oddly aggressively passive aggressive. It’s very weird behaviour. TRY: Peppermint infused cake.
The food is good but I enjoy going here for the sidewalk atmosphere. They have some nice comfortable chairs and tables out front. I enjoy getting some delicious bakery item then (if the sun is out) going out side and enjoying the street scene including the Portland Street Car going by. A great place to pass a Saturday morning.
Ok! Some great stuff, some OK. I’m pretty sure the almond croissant is just puff pastry turned in half with almond paste in the center VS a twice baked croissant. Vegan loaf was excellent, biscuit was Ok. Coffee was awesome. Nice people. Indoor space still closed but of course awesome space and parks in the neighborhood.
Love the food and drinks - my go to is the tuna tartine and an iced americano and maybe a baked good for the road. Delightful to sip and munch while sitting in the Adirondack chairs in the sun!! Also nice that they have plug ins at the bar height seating area inside so you can easily work on your homework/work if needed!
The one constant for me during Covid has been Lovejoy Bakers. I love the breakfast sandwiches with their fresh baked bread. They have even been able to navigate the staffing shortages that have effected many restaurants. I'm thankful they have been able to remain open and hope to patronize them for many years to come!
A lovely bakery! The baristas were super kind and helpful, helped me get my breakfast burrito quickly so I could catch my bus out of town. Burrito was delicious, glad I stopped in!!

I may adjust this rating if I visit a few more times, but I didn't feel there was anything remarkable about our coffee and pastries--at least not for the price. The best part of our experience there was noticing one of the cooks looks like Zack Galifianakis. Definitely not a friendly place, at least on that day.
As a customer of over 10 years and someone who never writes reviews, I am sad to say you have lost me as a customer. Lovejoy Bakers WAS one of the pillars of the pearl and how the mighty have fallen. A lack of consistency when it comes to customer service and food quality. No more excuses, step your game up LB.
Super popular place with outside seating in the summer time. Serves wine and dinner too. They haven't changed their menu for a super long time. The pastries are average, the food is so-so. Great place to meet friends since they have the space for it but I wouldn't come here to tickle my taste buds.
Over of my favorite bakeries and coffee spots in the heart of the Pearl district. Coffee and a chocolate eclair is one of the better ways to start the day. The turkey, cran, and marscapone sandwich is also super good. Lastly, they have the best banana cream pie I can find in all of Portland.
Lovejoy Bakers is one place I'll miss not being able to walk to, now that I don't live in downtown Portland. Their ginger biscuits are out of this world delicious. If you're visiting, stop here for a coffee and breakfast sandwich, then walk over to Tanner Springs Park and enjoy your morning.
Beautiful place to have a coffee break. I went to this place with my mother in law. It is a very clean place and the staffs are very kind. Coffee was good. (I ordered cold brew) We had coffee outdoor by the nice bar. It was very good to enjoy the nice weather and atmosphere of this area.
I love Lovejoy Bakers but today (10/30/23) when I waited in line I noticed flies over all the pastries. I still got my sandwich but I passed on the pastries.

Had somewhat high expectations for this place because wow the reviews, but it was pretty disappointing. Their sandwiches were very subpar and the bread was way over baked. I don’t typically review places but this was very underwhelming and not very good. The service was very good though!
Open at 6 a.m. with supposedly fresh pastry. My croissant this morning was heavy, not flaky at all and slightly soggy. I was assured of it being just delivered from their bakery location. Not fresh by any measure. Prices are high and they allow dogs. Not a high enough standard for us.
Good service, good food. They are known for the pound cake, which was rum raisin when I visited. The cake was moist and had good flavor, if a little heavy on cinnamon for my own taste. The almond oat bar was superb, with really good fruit, and a very tasty shortbread-type crust.
Friendly staff, nice coffee. Food standards were pitiful, breakfast burrito was more tortilla than filling and egg ciabatta was missing blue cheese, 3 pieces of wilted lettuce inside and a single, unseasoned egg inside. For a $30 breakfast I would expect a whole lot more.
Cutest and nicest baristas ever. Good biscuits. Llake is the crown jewel of this place, she truly makes it worth the visit. Her customer service is impeccable. Her fashion sense is outstanding, and the way she can steam almond milk.... wow. Incredible. 10/10 will be back.
Very friendly. Upscale and welcoming. Had the feeling of a private gem tucked away. Quaint & cozy. Perfect stop to have something warm to drink and get out of the cold. I will be taking the extra step to go there instead of some other known fast corporate coffee places.
I totally love the new faces of Lovejoy! Daria, Elliot and Allie, among others, are some of the best servers that Lovejoy Bakers has ever had. Their concern for me as a repeat customer go above and beyond my expectations. Thank you all for making me feel appreciated.
Expecting much more. Brioche roll on my lox and egg sandwich was so dry and hard that I couldn't eat it. I'll try again but not a sandwich on brioche roll unless they can assure that it is fresh. Excellent coffee and we picked up lovely sourdough loaf to take home.
Used to be a great corner outdoor treat but now furniture in tatters or non-existent, food just ok and according to staff all are quitting because of neglect from newish owners. “They own four other places and we’re apparently their least favorite.” Very sad.
Lovejoy Bakers was my go to place for breakfast and coffee during my one month stay at Portland. The staff is always pleasant and welcoming. They serve great coffee and , sandwitches and other baked goods. I loved their breakfast burrito and Tuna Melt.
I walked in, having forgotten my debit card at home. Natalie, the star of the show, gave me breakfast and coffee on her. I’ve never experienced such generosity with an establishment in Portland. This place is clearly a gem, and I’ll definitely be back.
I love this coffee shop/bakery! It fits in perfectly to my daily routine, the staff is always very happy and friendly with smiles all around. The kitchen is nothing to joke about either, try the green goddess Turkey sandwhich if you get the chance!
Stood there while the barista greeted and helped her "regular" customer behind me (she hadn't even acknowledged my presence even though I had been waiting in line). She ignored me at the counter and didn't even bother to acknowledge me as a
Lovejoy Bakers is an absolute treat of a place to go to when you're in the Pearl area! I loved the vibe, the seating options both inside and outside, and the location is perfect for a chill morning with a sandwich and some coffee. The food

Lovejoy is a great local bakery and since I enjoy local rather then corporate I was quite impressed. Prices are modest around 8 dollars and the salads look pretty big. Although we came near lunch there was still a good amount of seating.
Great espresso and food!! They also have plentiful outdoor seating including a row of Adirondack chairs. Great place to catch lunch or take a break and watch the world go by. Really good espresso!!! Did I say that already? Really good.
Too much, I came to get a breakfast burrito 6/29/23 8:30am Girl was dismissive when I went to order. 11$ burrito to sub bacon and add sausage 2$ 13$ now for extra bacon 4$… 17$… for a breakfast burrito with extra meat. Rip off.
Love this place. Croissants run out too quickly on weekends. (They are clearly in high demand! Make more on busy days!) Lovejoy Deluxe sandwich is great. Menu items are pricey for what you get, but worth an occasional splurge.
Cozy atmosphere. I went in here to get out of the cold while I wait for my cat to he finished at the vet up the street. Will make this my go to place for that now. Best. Hot chocolate. Ever. Would give 6 stars if I could.
Great coffee, great pastries, great food! Not great seating on weekends. Atmosphere is a little cold and sterile, not very comfortable. But the staff and product is consistently fantastic! Grab and go recommended!
The lavender matcha was beautifully presented but didn't appeal so I sent it back for a mocha. The grilled cheese sandwich seemed small. Macaroons and service are excellent. The outdoor seating is pleasant....
Split the Lovejoy Deluxe and some coffee before starting our trip for the day. The sandwich was delicious. Would love to have tried some of the sweets, but we needed to save ourselves for the rest of the day.
Lox sandwich and a mocha. Coffee was very good. Sandwich was on a good soft bun and a little unorthodox - served with egg rather than cream cheese and capers. Pretty good even if not what I was looking for
Great food. But I asked for a bowl of tomato soup. They gave me a cup. For $7. Forgot to give me bread with my $7 tiny cup of soup and no utensils. Didn't feel welcomed at all. Very up tight feel to place.
In the two days we spent in the Portland area, my friend and I came here twice because once simply wasn't enough. Great local coffee, pastries, and food. Friendly, chill service and a great overall vibe.
Breakfast burrito was 80% potato, and 10% poorly cooked sausage. Other items were good, but $11 pre tip for a burrito that’s mainly potato isn’t cool, not sure why people rave about them in the reviews.
The food was surprisingly delicious and great price! Everything we ordered taste good, big portion with real ingredients. The chai tea was really good, I can taste the chai ☕️ really worth the price.
I came to pick up food and coffee on 8/23 Food is good, service is terrible. The cashier with long blonde ashy hair had an attitude and no patience. She yelled at me and other customers if you didn't
A bright well designed location. Very high quality baked goods and hot breakfast options. Fun staff. We all danced to a song as they made my breakfast burrito today. Avocado toast particularly good.
Lovejoy bakers is back to being a great place. Great customer experience! Also good food. Favorite is the avocado toast + egg and to drink the pumpkin spiced latte with oat milk! Highly recommend .
My friends and I went here before and after the pride parade. The staff are super friendly. The coffee and food are delish! I will definitely come to Lovejoy Bakers next time I’m downtown. :)
Super cute place! I got a sandwich with tomato soup - very delicious & filling! A cool place to go when walking around Portland downtown. The desserts looked tasty, but we didn’t order any.
Everything I've tried here is amazing!! Matcha amazing, Tuna melt lemony and cheesy, breakfast burrito hefty and flavorful, chickpea sandwich sooo flavorful and pickly. Highly recommend!!
We were able to sit with our dog, which was really nice. They have indoor and outdoor tables. The food was wonderful. The employees were friendly. Loved the art of the walls, too!
Lovejoy tics all the boxes. Friendly, welcoming team, fresh brewed coffees, and large selection of homemade bakery treats. Bright modern space. Full salad, sandwich , soup menu.
Best place for morning breakfast and coffee. Must try their burrito for morning breakfast. Place is really good and the service is amazing. I would love to visit here next time.
Food is great! Several tables and chairs for outdoor seating as well as seating inside. Staff us nice. Prices are in the mid-high range but the quality is there so def worth it!
Was only in town for 5 minutes before my day was absolutely made by not only the coffee and baked goods, but by the incredible staff. Will definitely return, and so should you.
Seems like they did a soft relaunch recently and updated a lot of their ingredients and food prep as well as their coffee and syrups. Everything is noticeably great again
Lovejoy had become the place to stop on weekend either with family, or after a bike ride. The food and coffee always on point, consistently delicious and well prepared!
Ordered the Cranberry Turkey sandwich. Horse radish, being something you either love or hate should be listed as an ingredient on the menu. Ugh (yeah, I’m a hater)
LOVE this place and specifically the Lovejoy deluxe sandwich. I get it every time. I haven't had anything here that isn't good. Service is always great too!
Not good at all! My chai was oversteeped and the spices tasted stale. Our sandwiches were made on (at least) day old bread and reminded us of airport food.
