Rude staff. Nobody greets you or acknowledges you here. Other than that, decent apparel and supplies can be found but it’s not what it used to be. They lack a lot of clothing items they used to have. What happened to selling jackets with the McGill insignia on it? Everything they sell is plain now. Their selection of literature is also poor. It’s honesty sad if we are to believe this is the store representing McGill. I don’t think tourists would be impressed by this store…

Le James McGill Bookstore has an excellent selection of quality merchandise in a convenient location. From cozy McGill apparel to beautiful branded jewelry (necklaces, cufflinks, tie bars, etc.) ...there is a nice variety of gift / memento items for parents, alumni, and visitors as well as essentials for students. The staff are super friendly and helpful which makes for an amazing shopping experience.

Nice store, has all the material needed to start off a semester at McGill, copy books, backpacks, pens and pencils. Not to mention the textbooks you'll most likely get from there. The security can be a bit more lax but I guess it's better than none. The personel are students working for some extra cash and are very kind! Glad to see such a dependable bookstore in a university!

I bought a whole pile of Better Call Saul DVD Box Sets from here... Highly Recommend. Right after the morning hike at Mount Royal which is only a walking distance, I dropby McGill University’s Le James bookstore to shop for the university's merchandise. I purchased t-shirts, hoodies and mugs. The bookstore apparently has lots of stylish hoodies, mugs and shirts, hence, the reason I ended up spending quite a sum.

it was a clean store, employees were very sweet, everything was organized and it was a very nice experience. They probably have the most selection of mcgill wear. the only thing is, if you’re planning on getting clothes they only really restock at the beginning of the new school year.

I love going to the McGill bookstore every time I'm in the area. Perhaps because of covid, the place looks somewhat empty. Not as many options, and the downstairs book area is closed to the public. Hopefully when things get back to normal, we'll be able to enjoy the full bookstore.

If you need course textbooks and supplies they have it. They have lots of different collegiate swag but less than other universities of similar size (my experience with college bookstores is in the US so I don't know if the volume is normal for CA). However it's all good quality.

I went several times and the staff isn’t nice, so don’t expect many help. Also, there weren’t enough sizes: only XS and XL, for all the sweaters, so maybe it’s better to buy online. However, they have very good variety of clothing and souvenirs.

They got interesting books for a person like me. I like to study any field of the world. A big library of the university is also open for anybody, but this place shows which book is considered as a solid book with reputations in each field.

I always came and brought my visitors here for their McGill souvenirs. Great variety of merchandise from elegant pen cases, ties, to card chains, magnets, mugs, water bottles, and of course t-shirts and sweaters. The price is reasonable.

Nice selection of clothing (hoodies, shirts, pants, athletic wear) and stationery. They also have gift items which are great as souvenirs. Staff is approachable & knowledgeable. New and used textbooks at reasonable price.

I was looking for the bookstore in the wrong place. Not sure it needs to be completely OFF campus. Needs to be clearer on website and Google Maps. Great to get a new crew sweatshirt as my daughter stole mine years ago!

They have amazing customer service and a really good selection of stationary materials, books and so on. An excellent stop for buying casual books or even McGill merchandise. The staff is also super helpful and kind.

Étant de passage à Montréal la boutique m'a permis de ramener des "hoodies". Le prix est un peu élevé mais 6 mois après et quelques lavages ils sont toujours impeccable. Les petits Français sont contents.

Le nouveau cadre est super sympa. Et je trouve toujours de nouveaux articles qui me surprennent et font d'excellents cadeaux, souvent uniques parce que signés McGill, à des prix très compétitifs.

2 floors of McGill souvenirs, but I don’t find it as big because the basement floor is more like a storage where you can pick up your online orders, must of the things are in the main floor.

Cool Place. Helpful Staff. Lots of great books and clothes. Also, if you order a textbook online, you get a free pair of McGill gloves or a notebook when you go pick it up. Pretty nice

After visiting the old spot since 1980s, I visit the new place. Unfortunately, I arrived just 15 minutes before they closed, so it was just a quick visit to souvenirs and out the door

Here you can find all souvenirs about mc gill. I can only notice souvenirs because I'm here as a tourist. but also as far as I can see all the materials and books about the school

Pretty much nothing worth buying in this store. In comparison with university bookstores at such comparable universities as Brown or Harvard, Le James is a real disappointment.

The workers are very helpful and kind, unfortunately the way I was ridiculed by the manager was an awful experience. I will only be ordering online from now on.

It's a grand book store of McGill University. They have varied items such as hoodies, T-shirts, mugs and etc. as well all customer service guys very kind.

Good to see they stayed open after the post hours, 100s of students just graduated and were looking for frames, the parents were looking for memorabilia

The place is good and custom made things with McGill logo is available. But my view is prices are bit high and some things are of not good quality.

Good source of textbooks, clothing and school supplies for students. It lacks the variety of reading material that it used to have in the past.

Although geared toward the McGill University population, they have a great fiction section with rare finds. Good bargains on McGill tee-shirts.

Great shop, reasonable prices, however the textbooks go out of stock quite fast, and i can no longer get physical copies of my textbooks.

So glad we stopped in. I graduated when I was pregnant and finally got to get my, now 8 year old, some McGill gear. It made my day.

Great bookstore. Lots of McGill merch and even some good general reading books. Well lit, clean, well stocked and organized.
