I have been using this Spa's facilities since 2017. Initially, I was gifted a package of their floating bath, massage and sauna services. Following this experience, my partner and I swore we would never get massaged there again... it was highly unimpressive. As for the baths, it was fun but the smell was unpleasant for me and MAKE SURE to remove ALL jewellery, even precious metals as the bath tarnishes them. Therefore, I stuck to going there for the Finnish Sauna. The price is very decent, the facilities are ultra-clean and they don't stress you about your time of usage (unless they are jam packed, but this never happened to me in all my 6 visits using the sauna). Overall, the experience has been relatively good. I've observed over several months, however, that every new front desk employee has a different operational method and they'll give you different instructions nigh e-v-e-r-y-time. On most visits I've been made to pay for my treatments AFTER, but in the most recent appointments it's been before-hand (which I prefer). I commented on this to the receptionist on my second-to-last visit and she said it had to do with how busy or not the front desk was. I also asked why it was that once, they asked me to give them my CC information to "put in the file" when they had never done so before and haven't since - she didn't offer me much of an explanation and looked confused.... on this visit I was also given a locker that doesn't lock! Avoid F3.... Every visit with them, I've been offered tea and chocolate, without my asking for it. Well, on what will be my LAST visit - nobody did. Nobody came to ask how I was doing, or offered tips on how to get the most out of the sauna (which they have before). I also unexpectedly got offered two towels, but both were white; on my last visit I had to REQUEST two, and was given instructions to use the darker one to sit on in the sauna so as to not stain their white ones. I mentioned this to the receptionist when I went to ask for tea... which she declined to give me stating that: "It's not included when one only uses the sauna"... I mention that it's been served to me EVERY other time before and she comes up with: "maybe you asked"? To which I responded no... I never had to - then she guesses " maybe they thought you had bought multiple services" and once again, no. They knew very well what I had bought the times before. I end up pointing out that it's a bit confusing that with every new employee, I get different treatment and services. I ask if they have a comment section on their site or something because overall it's not a bad place, I didn't want to put this Google reviews. But honestly, on one visit I could hear the next-door's bar music through the sauna's wall. I wound up not taking tea either because of her argumentative response and the fact that somebody was violently coughing in the back where I've seen them bring the tea from. So I said never mind, next time. HOWEVER (I'm almost done), upon sharing my commentary as kindly as I should and asking my pointed questions, the front desk worker on the 28th of June 2022 became more and more unpleasant and when I walked out and said "well this has been interesting" (genuinely), I said a kind "Au revoir, merci" - to which she didn't respond and she made sure to just stare at her screen ignoring me. SO here I am, vowing to never recommend or bring friends again. The location is interesting, but honestly is the last place I'd expect to find a spa, they do a good job of creating an ambiance inside but they aren't consistent with their booking procedures (when you book online SOMETIMES they call to confirm, other times they just e-mail you) & again that whole attempt to make me add my CC to some file threw me off months ago. Three stars for: cleanliness, kind enough staff and a very comfortable experience overall (it smells good, dim lighting, clean restrooms, well decorated & comfy chairs). But lack of structure/consistency and the unprofessionalism of this last employee has deterred me for good!
I went to the spa for the first time a few weeks back with my partner for our anniversary. The booking started off rocky. I had purchased a gift card online and needed to then call to book the specific date. For almost 3 days I tried to get a reach of someone at the salon - I called, left a facebook message and emailed. What was really weird is that the phone lines would not close after their closing hours so I would accidentally wait while the phone was ringing every time. Once I finally heard back from a receptionist, she was very pleasant and professional. We got the Detente Absolu package for 2 people which included 30mins of the floating bath, 1h massage and 1h of sauna access. The floating bath was not what I expected and was disappointing. I was expecting some kind of individual tech-looking sphere (like photos I had seen online) in which I would completely float and feel an effect. Instead it was a shallow bath (big enough for 2-3 people) with some salts, which allowed me to float IF using their floaties. The water was luke warm and not very pleasant. There was no music so we were asked to put music on our own phones. The massage was great. We had requested a double-massage room. Both masseuses were friendly, professional, and talented. Great massages! The sauna was quite nice, feels great on the body. However, I did not find the ''détante'' area very relaxing. It's situated in a hallway where staff and clients walk through. It's quite small (3 chairs and sofa thing) and tiny but not VERY clean (there was a dirty qtip on the floor near me the whole hour, after clients would get up to get back to the sauna the seating are would be wet and sunken in, and no staff came to fluff it up or tidy up). Overall, I loved the massage, liked the sauna and was disappointed by the ''floating'' bath. I missed having the hot bath option like at other spas I've been to, so I don't think I'll be going back.
I went today to use my gift card certificate and to celebrate my birthday. I had the best time ever, first the receptionist was very kind and has a delicate voice. The atmosphere is very relaxing, clean, zen, safe. My experience was Daphne was great. She is a great listener, sensitive to others and she gave me the best excellent massage ever. What I liked about her is how she asks me what I am expecting in the session. The salt bath was great experience as well. I felt welcomed, cherished, loved. Overall it is very clean and safe space. I also loved how the receptionist left a tea and chocolate for me to cool down. Definitely will come back. Update: unfortunately I cant put 10 stars. Today I had even a great experience. Daphne went above and beyond with the receptionist. Highly recommend as always.
5-star for a 5-star Spa. I can tell you cleanliness was on point. Went there early in the AM and was super happy because I hate crowded spas. I almost felt at home there: got a 1h massage and they had a promotion going on so I could use the sauna for free. I really enjoyed my experience there so I would highly recommend and definitely will go back. Btw I read another comment regarding customer service at the desk being poor. I don't think the person was meant to be mean or anything like that, I just think she should be smiling more to customers as she's the first person you see and are welcomed by. But she was nice just as everyone there. Thanks to the whole team.
It was my first time going to this Spa; I absolutely loved the massage given to me by Maude. She catered to all my needs and I felt very relaxed, safe and comfortable. This is the first time in a long time that I actually feel like a massage has released tension in my shoulders, thank you so much Maude! The massage table was soooo comfortable and the sheets were very soft. I loved that I was able to take a nice shower afterwards in the same room. I will be coming back to try out the floating baths and sauna. Receptionist was very welcoming and helpful, I loved the little waiting area and the lighting and ambience made it very zen!
The massothérapist I had and the same my mother had were terrible! It was like getting oil placed on our backs but not a massage! I kept asking the massotherapist to push harder so it feels like a massage and she said she was at her maximum which didn’t make any sense to me that they were certified. A 5yr old can do the same job. It is a small spa, they have a sauna and floating bath available. Locker room is for one person, cleanliness is 7/10. I would never go back there for a massage, money better spent elsewhere since it isn’t a cheap place either.
Excellent reception at the front, clean and a calming atmosphere. Only downside is that the place is small. When it was just me and my friend it felt intimate and cozy. When there was two other people there as well it felt crowded. Especially in the change room which contains the only shower that you use as part of the hot sauna cold shower circuit. I really wish there was a separate shower for the hot cold thermal circuit that was separate from the change room because it's so tiny in the change room. And with other people around you have to wait.
Little awkward to see the negative comments. Today was my first sauna and massage experience here and it was simply “amazing”. Me and my friend had a wonderful sauna and post that Gab + Kat being our therapists were simply great. The only thing I get put back is the price, seems expensive compared to others. I changed my therapist this time to experience L’absolu and fully recommend it for everyone. Hope you could restructure the prices a bit but it’s a wonderful place to relieve your tiredness.
We have gone to this spa many times, the experience and massage is always good. The sauna is a nice option. The only reason I'm not giving them a 5 star review is they give a discount to people who give 5 star reviews, which I think is ethically dubious since it can make reviews less honest. Many services give discounts for reviews, but they don't stipulate it must be a five star review, so this also implies they don't trust the quality of their services. They should, it's a great option.
Great feeling after being massaged. Jessica takes her time and adapts her massage to the tension she feels throughout your body. She uses her hands listen to your body and they will undo any knots you have. I love the feeling of a head massage. 90 minutes is an ideal time for massage but give yourself more time for the visit in order to enjoy the sauna or floating baths. Nice decor and friendly atmosphere!
The massages are great. Those who do the massages are very well-trained. Customer service at the desk is not strong. After showering I was asked to leave before being able to dry my hair. I was told priority was given to spa clients vs. clients who were getting massages. Extremely rude. I have always been able to use the shower. I would not recommend the spa to anyone after the way I was treated.
What an amazing experience, my massage therapist Noemi, was excellent and bilingual. I did the floating spa as well..just amazing. Everyone there was just so pleasant. They provided teas, and the choice of teas...amazing. Sooooo clean. I luxuriated, had fabulous time..I suggested this place to my coworkers as well as a client. This place is just beautiful!
Nice, relaxing, quiet oasis in the bustling Ahuntsic area. Good communication and good quality from the masseuse. Don't know anything about getting a discount in exchange for 5 star review, i'm writing this because of our consistent excellent experience over the past couple of years. Would recommend.
The reception was very kind, the spa itself is very clean and well kept, I didn't use the floating epsom bath or the sauna but they both looked really good. I got the best massage of my life and the whole vibe of the place was very relaxing. I'll be coming back for more!
I had a full-body massage session with Veronique Desjardins. And it was the best relaxing massage I’ve ever had. She’s a true professional. Also, the staff are very nice and friendly. I highly recommend this place. Will definitely come back again
Everything was just perfect thank you for everything the salt water was so relaxing employee’s we’re super nice we couldn’t have enough of it highly recommended
Nice little spa in the middle of Ahuntsic. My wife and I both received a very nice massage, and were able to enjoy the sauna.
Excellent message, clean, and very relaxing, especially the Epson salt bath✨ the sauna helps detox!
Best spa ever! I definitely recommend it for those who like sauna! Must try their massage too!
Enjoyed my experience (massage, floating bath, sauna).
