I went for the first time to the store, I thought the store was fantastic, has many things to look at. But here is the thing, something happened there that I didn’t enjoy at all. I was outside I have my very small dog, when I enter first thing I ask to the “owner” was, can I come in with my dog?, he smile at me and he said “of course!” Then as soon as I go to the other side of the store, another man, I think a worker, stop to pay attention to the customer he was talking to and look at me and kinda scream from the other side of the store, “hey you, you should ask first before coming with your dog in, we usually don't let anyone to come with their dog to the store especially if the store has lots of customers” which I replay, “I already ask, and the other guy said that was fine” which he seems to didn't hear, because he still talking about that. He made me so uncomfortable that I was ready to leave, but I just move to the front of the store, the nice guy approached me and asked me if he can help me with something, at the end because of the nice guy I finish buying $75 in products, I can't believe that such a nice place with a nice owner has such an assho!@ as a worker. The store is amazing just change your workers because that could be a reason that you aren't selling or don't get good relationships with your clients, I am not sure if I would go back there if the guy who was rude to me and the other customer he was checking still working there.

King W. and Mixed Media are the real deal! I’m so glad we have them in Hamilton! They’re all so lovely and nice, have a wonderful selection, and the shop makes just the happiest coziest atmosphere. If you’re a chronic online shopper () you can get them to order almost anything (any books, I mean, I don’t think they do groceries or industrial equipment) and pick it up from their shop! I don’t buy books anywhere else and I buy lots of other great things here too! Notebooks, art supplies, fountain pens, lovely gifts. It’s an INSTITUTION! We’re all so lucky! Love to King W. Sad that small businesses want to discriminate and encourage segregation at the Holidays when local individuals are trying to support them. This business actually asked for proof of vaccination and is denying mask exemptions that are outlined in city bylaw 20-155. Thankfully some of the other small bookstores like River Trading Company and the stores in Westdale are inclusive to all, regardless of medical conditions or vaccination status.

What an amazing place! They carry a wide variety of books and the service is outstanding. The man who helped me was extremely knowledgable about the books they had in stock and he took the time to have a pleasant conversation and exchange some journaling tips! It was an experience that is rare to find at a larger corporation. I encourage everyone to visit and spread the word about this wonderful little store!

Wonderful selection. The array is eye catching as the original floor to ceiling shelves from Bryan Prince Bookseller are intact and in their element. It's a pleasure to browse, and there is such a feeling of coziness when you walk in. Attached is Mixed Media, with all the art supplies and eclectic notebooks anyone could ever desire. Beautiful choice of location as well. ❤️❤️

Dave and all the staff are lovely, kind, smart, and always have a great suggestion. They can order almost anything in - friends and I call them our "magical little bookstore"! I have gone in twice saying "not sure what to buy" and walked out with amazing suggestions. Haven't gone to the big box stores for books for 3 years now and don't miss it. Shop local!

Always a wonderful, eclectic selection of books. The owners really get to know their clientele and always make time to give recommendations. There are local authors and makers featured every time I visit. All in all, a lovely little book shop with cozy atmosphere and very welcoming, knowledgeable staff.

This is a wonderful local business. Wide variety of books available and if they don't currently stock what you're looking for, they will order it in promptly. Owner is incredibly knowledgeable and seems to have read everything, which is great if you're looking for advice on what to read.

This is a very sweet store. I'm delighted and grateful that the owners have continued the thoughtfulness of the old Bryan Prince store in terms of selection of books. And to have art supplies on top of it - amazing! Staff are kind and knowledgeable as well. Great store to check out.

Excellent selection of books, paper goods and other items.The staff are so friendly and helpful when you need some guidance picking something out. They are also able to special order almost any book if they do not have it in stock! Definitely worth checking out :)

Book stores have books. Nothing shocking there. King W. Books challenges this norm by stringing together an incredibly well-curated selection that captures some of literatures best, all in a peaceful setting. If you read and write words... you need to go here.

Even though I miss Mixed Media on the corner of james north and cannon, with the Westdale move brought King West Books - so I can't muster up a complaint. Super easy to order online if needed, but nothing beats a wander through in person.

I used their buy online and pick up in store option for Christmas shopping today and the order was ready within an hour of placing it! Super easy and great service. I will be replacing Indigo with King West Books moving forward :)
