J originally wrote a quick and dirty review to help, Alba who is the patient advocate for the Kindred Sahara location on how she, Strati (sp?), Josh, and Millie were all great. The last three truly are great at what they do. The review was answered by Matt T, I removed it, as I like my reviews to have meat, substance, and be an accurate representation of the product/service. Let’s start from the beginning. I’m an above the knee amputee. The first surgery, the actual amputation was done at Summerlin Hospital at the end of May 2023. I have a second surgery also done at Summerlin Hospital 2-days later to clean and ensure no necro-bacterial items were still in the wound area (necro being why the leg was amputated). I do some recovery while at Summerlin, and get moved around from the ICU to IMU, etc. As I’m in Step Down “Ryan” who is a representative from Kindred asked if I “would consider his facility” for next steps. The Hospitalist at Summerlin suggested that as soon as I could get a bed in an intermediary facility that has rehabilitation I should go. I said yes. Ryan mentioned depending on insurance the move may not happen until Tuesday/Wednesday of the following week. Imagine my surprise that a few days later (Sunday) I and my personal items were being packed up to go to the Kindred Sahara facility. I should have done a better job reverse interviewing Ryan about the facility. His lead in was the food, I’m concerned about rehabilitation, and how I’m going to get to a new way of living. I’m in a transport ambulance on my way to the facility. It’s about 7 pm or so, a shift change is happening. At this facility, most rooms are shared (2 total). I was fortunate enough to room with a gentleman that talked all through the night, needed to have the light on, all through the night, and do other activities that did not promote sleep all through the night, now morning. I ask the Charge nurse to be moved into another room during the event with this gentlemen. I knew she was lying to me as I observed on my way in several empty spots, some rooms that were entirely vacant. I knew from that point that my experience would not be top notch or first in class. Here are my reasons/observations: - The doctors that I have dealt with gave me very few times (less than a handful) the customary listen to my breathing, lungs, heart. Isn’t this a staple of the doctor/patient visit? - The doctors were eager to order tests such as EKGs, X-Rays, Contrast CT Scans, there was no explanation as to why these were requested and more importantly what was the result? - Alba who is great and the patient advocate comes around a few times a week to guage patient satisfaction. One of the questions was being visited by leadership, it should be twice a week. This is definitely not the case. I was lucky to have a discussion with any department head at least once. - The facility is understaffed and also, in my opinion, requires to go through change management. The number of observations of employees gossiping to each other while in a room about their negative behaviors, or how miserable he/she/they are at the facility, DEFINITELY made me rethink my choice and writing a review.
My Dad at age 91 had a brain hemorrhage and was rushed to the hospital nearby his assisted living. That hospital was a nightmare (Southern Hills) and we were very frightened what the next place would be like! After my son did research on all possible places, we picked this particular Kindred. What a huge difference. First off, no one tried to convince us to put him into hospice, when he clearly said he did not want that! Instead, so many wonderful people worked with us and still are even as I write this review. A special shout has to go to dear Ebony who is the one allowing us to facetime since with Covid we can not get in. Oh, my Dad can't do it by himself bc of bad tremors and he can not talk so we can only read lips or Ebony translates. So Ebony not only works hard, her demeanor is always so positive and friendly. Both my sister and I are so thankful Ebony makes these face-times happen! It is not that easy since she has to keep going into the room to see if he is awake AND she has so many other patients! Then there is Stephnee - spelt a little different than usual, but why not, her kindness and understanding sets her apart from other stephanies! She is our case manager. When we have a question, she does not stop until she knows we have a clear answer. She has made sure that we do not worry about all the POW tasks bc she is willing to get us what we need - dr. notes, insurance contacts and more. Then there are those nurses that stand out forever in my mind Tthis is such a difficult time time for me and even worse given we can not see him bc of Covid. Nurse Sally is just wonderful. She calls whenever she can to either report anything new or let us talk on the phone. She also has brain stormed with me about different ideas to help him stay mentally alert. My Dad is lucid and knows what is going on. Bc of Sally, my Dad has a radio in his room so he can listen to his country music or the news without bothering his roomy. Kindred on Sahara is one of the best if not the best places for your injured loved one. This is especially true during this horrible Covid period. The employees care and put themselves in your position. Other than transporting my Dad back to Ca. I don't know what we would have done. Kindred is a place you can trust and feel your loved one is respected and taken care of. I wouldn't want my Dad any where else.
I was admitted to Kindred Sahara Hospital 16 days ago extremely sick. My very first night everyone including my admitting nurse Maria made me feel comfortable and treated me with care and kindness. The RT department, especially Kat,worked extremely hard improving my breathing and making my lungs stronger. Only then was I able to wean myself off the ventilator. I was finally able to breathe on my own. A big thanks to Elizabeth from speech therapy for helping me regain the ability to drink and swallow again.i started with ice chips then to a purée diet.within a week I was on an unrestricted diet not withstanding my 30 pound loss the dietary department served the best meals I have ever enjoyed l consider Dr. Ranga to be the best doctor l have met in my 79 years. He was always encouraging yet understanding of my wants and needs. He visited me everyday during my recovery and always provided accurate updates on my situation. Overall the care and compassion of the entire staff was better than outstanding. I had the good fortune of the best nurses and can’s, including but not limited to Eddy, Mika, Gloria, Bernice and Melissa. A special thanks to Alba for her assistance in explaining everything involving the hospital. I can’t say enough great things about this hospital and the entire staff.my highest recommendation to this facility if u need treatment for my type illness. You will be in the best possible place. Perhaps the most important improvement to my rehab was the fantastic job performed by the physical therapy /occupational therapy department. Without exception everyone there was not only an expert doing their jobs but equally friendly and understanding of my situation. Thus I was able to make leaps and bounds strengthening my whole body.
I am here to give a review to these doctors nurses,CNA’s, respiratory nurses, etc. etc. my dad went to this hospital A couple months ago and I can see it from my eyes that they have been doing all that they can for my dad. They can only do so much and with me being there two times a day he went from 78 pounds to 107 pounds. I absolutely have no complaints as of now on how they have been treating my dad. From Gloria to the entire staff they have showed my dad so much love in there.Of course no one is perfect but they are doing their best to make sure my dad is comfortable. I have seen so much progress since he’s been there he went from not speaking to once they put the voicebox on him I can hear my dad‘s voice. I have not heard his voice since March 18th. The week I was gone and I could not see my dad I did not understand why he only weighs 78 pounds but me being there supporting him he has gained his weight back. The nurses the CNA’s they answer any questions I have for them, they know who I am, they call my dad by his first name sometimes, sometimes by his last name. I appreciate you guys from the bottom of my heart. No one can put a time limit on him but you guys are prolonging his life and I am grateful for the attention and the treatment and the love you guys are showing him. Again thank you thank you thank you thank you Miss Gloria I wish she was there all the time she wanted to give my dad a shave but she waited until she got permission from someone in his family and I was going to ask someone there to do it for me and Miss Gloria did thank you Miss Gloria. That hospital is awesome And my dad is very blessed to have such a wonderful team.. I also have a video of him talking if you all need it for any reason
Do not judge a book by its cover! When I arrived at Kindred I was skeptical. The rooms are small, and there’s not a lot of frills, but don’t let that turn you off. I recently had a nine week stay at Kindred Sahara and the care was excellent. On day one I was assessed by the entire team, even had a sit down with the dietitian to discuss needs and wants, and she made notes as to my preferences. The therapy department is fantastic, very kind and super professional in situations where you may feel awkward or vulnerable. The nursing staff is fantastic and I had several nurses who went above and beyond to provide the care I needed. The nursing supervisors came to every room every day to check on patients and see what concerns we had, and were quick to respond to any concerns. They want to get it right the first time. Most of the CNAs worked super hard to meet all of my needs, and several, like the nurses, went above and beyond. They have a patient care advocate who checks in with you daily to see how you’re doing and what concerns you have day to day, and she tries her best to make your stay the best she can. Were there downsides? Yes, but you will find that at every facility. The not so stellar areas were the kitchen (making errors on your tray), the rooms are small, and given the current world situation, they are sometimes short staffed, which means sometimes you have to wait a little while, but they WILL tend to you as soon as they can. If you can be a bit flexible, and be patient (which I know can be difficult when you’re in the hospital) you will have a good experience at Kindred.
This review WILL be edited once my mother in law's stay is completed. For now my review is between 3.5 and 4. My mother in law is a patient here , she has advanced stage dementia so she can't communicate her experience to us. They opened the hospital on 3/1/2021 and we were allowed in to see her. So far our experience has been somewhat positive and somewhat banal, but you can expect that with any business. As of now, our most positive experiences have been with Ebony ,the patient advocate. She's attentive, caring, empathic and respectful. Case Manager Paula M.WOW! She is altruistic, magnanimous, considerate and patient. She allowed me to express my concerns, which were many, & I am quite garrulous at times, but she was indulgent with her time and extremely compassionate. EVA, CNA & MATT CNA they need to be cloned!! My mother in law requires continuous care and she deserves respect, compassion & dignity. These 2 individual impress me everytime I go in and see them in action. They're not always her CNA's when I'm there but I know with other patients they are respectful as well, they have good hearts. Eduany one of the nurses, KUDOS to him for indulging me with my many question and compassionate enough to always be truthful in his responses. Dr. Janapati, what EVERYONE should expect in a physician, he listens to understand before responding, I respect that in a doctor. He gave us the truth that we can visually see but often our hearts won't allow us to.
This supposed “hospital” is a complete joke and disgrace for anyone thinking of placing a loved one into long-term Acute care. My mother developed pressure injuries here, and the management just swept it under the rug. I asked to speak with the wound care supervisor, and was told that she was on vacation and was not available. Then who is? Robert and Sherry were rude. The wound care team and charge nurse here is horrible. I passed by the nurses station and to my surprise, their supervisor looked like a high school student and was overheard talking about her planned vacation very loudly. This is not the right first impression to give. The wound care team was speaking in a foreign language so loud and often forgot to do her daily dressing changes. My mom was complaining about laying in her own poop for hours before anyone cared to clean her, further spreading bacteria and aggravating her skin to the point of redness going up her butt, all the way to her back. I had asked how often my mon was getting turned, and the nurse loudly asked “HUH?” The place smelled like poop from the entrance due to CNA incompetence with basic ADLs and lack of a cleaning schedule, The workers here don’t do their job. They are there to socialize, eat, and collect easy money. I would put my mom in a skilled nursing facility any day over this helljole! They need to be shut down!
We have been treated as well as can be expected. The staff have been exceptionally kind. Lisa ,James,Aretha, Menchi, Erin, Joe, Romeo. James was willing to help every time I needed anything and he has a wonderful since of humor and your physical and respiratory staff have been outstanding. Rehab has been strict but are always pushing for me to reach my goals and won’t take any excuses. Aubrey is extremely patient and kind and is very good at explaining the rehab and why I’m being asked to perform certain tasks. Jennifer and Olsa and the majority of your respiratory therapist have been constant and always kind. Are overall picture has been a good experience. My room is always clean when I need something from EVS they’re on top of it. I would like to say my advocate Ebony starts the day with a smile and is full of information and willing to help at any time. The wound care team are the hit of the day, they cheer me up every time I see them they are delightful and funny! They are skilled and my wounds aggressively healing. John the respiratory therapist went out of his way to make sure all my needs were met he went above and beyond. I’d like to also mention Lisa made sure all my needs were met and was always pleasant and would drop by on the days she didn’t have me just to say hi.
My mother's name is Dawn Sturiale, she contracted Covid-19 in early November. On the 9th of November she was taken to UMC. A few days after being at UMC she was no longer able to breathe on her own, she was incubated and put on a ventilator to breathe for her. This was a very scary time for my entire family. We were faced with the reality of not only losing my mother, but a daughter, a aunt, a sister, a grandmother, so you can imagine how scared we were. 10 days after being incubated the doctors told us to start to think about letting her go. We refused!!!! A month later my mom was moved to Kindred Hospital. This is where my mother started to fight. Kindred was where she made her turn around. From the beginning I can tell she was at a place where we would be able to have her home again. The case worker Natalie explained to me she had a long road to go but she could do it. That gave me hope, hope I could then give to my family. The doctors there were very compassionate, they understood this was a difficult time and they explained everything every step of the way. I was very pleased with how clean not only my mother's room was but the entire facility. Overall I'm very grateful for everyone at Kindred, grateful that we found this place. This place saved my mother.
I stayed here at this hospital from 4/21 to 6/2/22. I can say that everyone I have encountered here has been really nice and helpful. I recommend this step-down facility to anyone who is looking for a place to recover from their illness. The only I thing I can complain about, is that it is really loud with the call lights beeping so I got some ear plugs. Earplugs helped me sleep during all that noise. The rooms & beds are comfortable enough. The rooms are dual occupancy. Since COVID the rooms are cleaned & sanitized everyday by staff. The nurses & CNA are professional & caring. I give them 4 stars. I have had a pleasant experience with all the staff, nurses, and specialists I felt well cared for and my health concerns were taken care of in a timely manner. The food was good and they have a kitchen lead worker who came to each room to take personalized meal options. The respiratory therapist, Dan, was really nice and he seemed to be able to work with the doctor to make sure my breathing issues greatly improved. There are too many nurses to thank as they were all great and very proactive great in helping me with general help in bed, and physical therapy technicians seemed rushed but they knew their stuff.
My husband got covid and was admitted to the hospital on July 22, 2020. It was a very long and scary road. The bad news, the VERY bad news and some good. He fought and we prayed. We never gave up hope and he never stopped fighting. When they told me that he was going to be transferred to a long term care facility because he was "ready". I was very nervous and scared not knowing what to expect, because I wasn't sure he was ready. The staff here at Kindred Sahara have been very informative on how things worked at their location. How they were going to have my husband feeling better in no time at all. They were right! The staff has been wonderful, helping my husband be as comfortable as possible even when he couldnt talk they took their time to make sure they understood what he needed. Now he is talking and eating on his own, and today they finally took off the trach. He is also getting physical therapy here and they are doing great at motivating him to get his muscle strength back. We're on the road to recovery now and although we'd rather have my husband home, we know that he is getting good friendly care at Kindred Sahara.
I've been a patient here since August 7th and continue to recover from a brain aneurysm, heart attack, and stroke. It has been a difficult journey to get to the point of now sitting up, standing, walking with assistance, and even doing a bit of physical therapy. None of my progress thusfar would have been possible if not for the wonderful staff of Kindred. The nurses are truly amazing and take great care of me here, but there are some CNAs who truly go out of their way to help me. Ms Eva, Ms Lisa, Ms Angelique, Ms Elly, Ms Anita, James, Ms Aretha, and even some of the housekeeping staff have been so pleasant and helpful during my stay here. Ms Melissa and Ms Bridget and even another young man that I can never remember his name, but they have truly made my recovery pleasant. I don't particularly like hospitals, but these great people have truly gone above and beyond with my care and deserve to be recognized by their supervisors and management. Good help is hard to come by and Kindred should be proud of their staff, because there are truly too many others to mention by name, but I am grateful for each of them. Marie "Sunny"
I want to thank each and every staff member at Kindred Sahara. Everyone has gone above the average to help in my care. I am shocked as to how great the food is. My first night here and eating i expressed to my family that if I were to gontoba restaurant i would definitely pay $40.00 for my plate. I guess you have to eat other hospital food in order to know what I am talking about. I am on a very strict diet and the kitchen has done an excellent job to make my bland diet into something i can enjoy. I do apologize to kitchen staff if i do not eat what is prepared. My chemo has changed my taste and atvtimes food will taste likeca salt block or it dries out my mouth. Just know i am extremely impressed on how well he food tastes and the care that is put into my diet. Yes i want a chocolate chip cookie but the kitchen staff says no, but, i can have something else and it satisfies my "needs". Again thank you to each and every staff member at Kindred Sahara. I love each and everyone of you. God has really been good to me in my fight against adrenal cancer. Xxoo
RJ is a consummate professional and excels at what he does. He made the transfer to Kindred a reality and kept me "in the loop." Kimberly gave me a thorough tour and answered my questions. She was knowledgeable and warm. With her being the "first point of contact", I knew I was in for a treat! I met with Estrella and discussed my wife's goals and asked a ton of questions. We had an amazing connection and I knew Kindred was the right choice. My wife was admitted one week ago and the care has been exemplary. The staff are very polite and professional; I attribute this to Leadership. The respiratory team is exceptional and got my wife off her Trach in one week! The administrative staff are very supportive, highly-competent, caring and genuine. My wife's doctors, nurses and supportive staff are impressively punctual, consistent and move about their roles with fluidity; day after day, one after the other, appearing as a magical tag team. We're not sure how long we'll be here, but we know we're in the right place. Thank you Bud and your Awesome team!
The team at Kindred Hospital are amazing. They are friendly, compassionate, and care for their patients. My father is currently hospitalized at this location and because the increase of Covid-19 cases in the city, we were not allowed to visit my dad. Ebony has been super helpful and allowing us to face time with my dad and still being able to see him. The nurses that are assigned to my dad are also very helpful; they provide us with updates and answer all our questions regarding my dad’s recovery. There were only a few occasions that the nurse was not available and did not return our call but that’s understandable because they are busy and are looking out for the patient’s well-being. Stefanie has been super helpful in answering all our questions and inviting me to be part of a weekly meeting with the staffing nurses to get updates and answering all my questions. I’m very happy that my dad came to this location and is getting the help/care that he needs to bring him home soon.
I cannot put into words how amazing Kindred was to my mother during her time there with them. The hospital she was in previously gave us little information and seemed to be giving up on my mom & kindred did the exact opposite. Every time I seen my mom she was clean, and fed and most importantly, finally getting better over time. My mother, Dawn, told me about different conversations and laughs she was able to have with the different nurses and administration. Kindred gave my family and I a type of hope we were beginning to lose when she was at her previous hospital. Having my mother back home and healthy is the biggest blessing I have ever received and I’m forever grateful to Kindred Hospital for giving me more time with my beautiful mother. I’d recommend this facility to anyone in or near my moms recent position. My family and I are more than grateful and overwhelmingly happy to have our anchor of our family home with us.
I fought very hard for my husband to come to this facility. The Insurance company denied our claim but Paetra who works for kindred helped and assisted me during the appeal and kept open communication with me at all times and even after her working hours. Now that he is here, I am grateful for how well he is treated. All the staff members are friendly and always willing to help or answer questions, they are compassionate, and have even FaceTimed me to show me major things my husband is doing when I can’t be there. There has been times when my husband has needed to be changed and sat longer than I would have liked but the CNA’s acknowledged and let me and him know they will be in as soon as they can. They talk to him like he is a human being and don’t have conversations like he’s not there or comprehending. Specialist work with him weekly and make sure he is getting everything he needs to be successful in everyday life.
The deciding factor for me to have my daughter continue her recovery at Kindred hospital Sahara began with the receptionist, Kim. She was professional, warm and knowledgeable. I then met the Nurse Administrator and others in the facility during my tour. The tour was at my pace which made me not feel rushed to make a decision. My daughter has been at Kindred for nearly one month and has received top notch care from the medical team that has been assigned to her care. I would recommend Kindred hospital, SAHARA to my family&friends. I know that my daughter has a ways to go before she is fully recovered and I believe that the team at Kindred will do all that they can to get her back to her full capacity. I would also like to give kudos to the housekeeping staff! Thank you Kindred Hospital, SAHARA! for making my family comfortable with leaving our daughter and sister in your care. Keep up the good work. Camellia
We have been here at Kindred Sahara since Aug 6, 2021 after being transferred from Centennial Hills ICU with injuries that most don't live from. I have already posted (months ago) about the staff here and how awesome they have been, but we're being transferred to the other Kindred on Flamingo this afternoon and I wanted to make sure that the Respiratory Technicians are also recognized. They are Top notch and have been nothing short of amazing in caring for my wife. Ms Jennifer, Dan, Nathalie, Kat, Barr, and a few others whose names I can't recall have all been crucial in my wife's respiratory recovery and I'd love for them to be recognized by their Administration and even receive raises, because whatever it is they're paid, they deserve more. We are grateful for every breath that she takes now and for the Love and Aloha shared by the staff here at Sahara. KAAPANA
Thank you very much for the kindred family All staff was great I want to thank my CNA's who took care of me which was angeli, christina which is exceptional and one of my favorites which was Aretha and Christina Went over and beyond their jobs, This nurses they went out of their way ,conform me when I was upset and spoiled me they are and they go the extra mile, Katherine, Adele ,Abdul Jasmine, Nedy and Theresa, my room was always clean and Regi make sure to keep it clean for me and the pregnant lady too, my HBO staff Arti, Esme, Allen , . I have so much to say about this hospital everyone was exceptional, and many thanks to Alba on checking on me daily and comforting me and not forgetting my wound care team Maddie and Leslie, Olivia. if I need to be hospitalized again I will definitely recommend this hospital and I would definitely come back again.
My sister has been at this hospital since January, and it's such a relief knowing that she is in better hands than the previous hospital she was transferred from. I can honestly say that every single person I've spoken to at the hospital has been super helpful and truly cares. I've spoken to at least 9 folks from here (as you can imagine I try to check in as much as I can since I can't physically be there due to COVID restrictions.) The best part is they go above and beyond to let me to facetime my sister whenever they can and do allow visitors at the window! Most other hospitals would not even go above and beyond what Kindred Sahara is doing. All their staff is amazing and I greatly thank them for all they do taking care of my sister. This is without a doubt the best/most trusted hospital to put any patient.
Need to give a huge, heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of Kindred Hospital for the excellent care given to my Sister. Five star care given by Axum, Beth, Ali, Tiffany, Jackie, etc. Dietary staff for delicious meals that got my Sister’s appetite back. Nurses Elaine, Jasmine, Shao, Aida, Josephine, David, etc. The etc. is because I should be listing the entire medical staff including X-ray, Ultrasound, etc. Special shout out to Josh in Occupational Therapy, and the entire Physical Therapy Department. If needed, this is a hospital that has the most caring, attentive Doctors and Staff. Extremely comforting to have a Patient Advocate. This hospital takes accountability, and strives to keep the patient and family happy to assist in the healing process. Recommend Kindred Hospital Sahara with an A++ rating.
I would like the staff at Kindred for all the care they gave my husband.I would like to say for the RT department Ms.Natalie Emile was so good. The CNA are Ms.The CNA' that really deserve recognition are zee Rob and Aretha they are patient and provide very good care to the patients assigned to them. Great nurses are Laz and Shanon. The care was fantastic and when I asked for anything I never received a no but a let me figure it out. I was told at the previous hospital that my husband couldn't get out of bed but at Kindred he was up daily and your staff kept me informed of how he did while out of bed. Every one was friendly and helpful and eager to assist. I don't want to leave out administration I want to thank you all for making sure I stayed informed and for all your patience and understanding.
My husband stayed at Kindred Hospital for about 3 weeks, and the staff there did a excellent job, what I really love about going there to visit my husband is the kindness they extended to me, they allowed me to help with bathing my husband, changing his bed sheets, they allowed me to give him massages, foot rubs, play music for him, and most of all reflective listening, when it came to concerns of his health. The staff even engaged in conversation asking if I had any questions need to be asked, that gave me a lot of comfort knowing that during this pandemic the stress of covid alone was very stressful. I acknowledged them thanking them for risking their lives, and the many sacrifices they made showing up for work to care for our loved ones. In my eyes they're the real heroes.
I wanted to give a shout out and thank you to my father’s nurse Terry. She has provided great care to my father who is still healing from a stroke. Since we are not allowed to visit our loved one due to Covid, her excellent care and communication with our family has taken a lot of worry from our hearts. Making us feel like we are there with him. Also we are thankful to Ebony, who has allowed us to FaceTime with my Dad regularly. She has been so kind & patient. Overall, the staff at Kindred has shown compassion and awesome care during this trying time in our lives. It has given us much hope for a good recovery for my father Darrell. I highly recommend Kindred for anyone who’s loved one is in need of intense & specialized care. ❤️
My husband has been here for about a month. The care, the cleanliness, just the overall atmosphere has been amazing. Of course the restrictions due to Covid are understandable - they have been super welcoming and understanding over the visiting hours. My husband is very comfortable being here. He was at another rehab facility before this and he was gone within 24 hours. Coming here - he is introduced to awesome nurses, CNAs, and others in the administrative offices. Ebony always makes sure he is treated well, and always makes sure he has what he needs - she always checks on him daily... anyways. I wouldn't trade this place for the world. Regardless of other reviews, my husbands experience has been phenomenal. Thank you for reading.
Can’t say enough good about Kindred, it’s never great to be in the hospital but of all places Kindred was awesome, I truly believe they saved my life, I spent two and a half months in the ICU on and off the ventilator with COVID-19, I’m glad to be home and better now thanks to everyone there at Kindred on Sahara, the doctors were great, they directed my care brining me back from the dead, the nurses were amazing, such hard working dedicated people, God bless all of them, even the house keeping folks were quietly caring individuals. Glad to be home but I miss everyone there, they became part of my life, saved my life, hope I never have to go back in any hospital but it’s good to know that there is a great place like Kindred!
My Mom was transferred from a local hospital 8 days ago. She was so frightened because she had some negative experiences from the hospital and another long term facility. The staff here is wonderful with her. They always treat her with respect and always have a positive attitude with her. They work well together and are always willing to lend a hand to help each other and the patients. This is the first facility that has made me feel like I am a human who deserves respect and kindness. It doesn't feel like a hospital as much as it feels like home. My mom is finally starting to recover and for the first time in 2 months I have hope for a complete recovery. Thank you Kindred. You are a Godsend!
My stay at Kindred Hospital Sahara was very pleasant. They took great care of me. The nurses were awesome, very caring and helpful. The food was super yummy and closer to what I would expect at a restaurant. It was so much better then I would expect from a hospital. The wound care team helped me so much with my wounds. When I first saw how deep they were I was sceptical about them healing but they did a great job. Some of the staff that went above and beyond were Mark the charge nurse,Mattie,Leslie, Olivia and Aubri my patient advocate. There are so many more I would like to name but there just to many but they know who they are.Thank you kindred for helping me get home to start a much better year.
Kindred Hospital Las Vegas - Sahara is a very good medical facility. It is kept exceptionally clean and for the most part well-maintained. The staff is quite professional, caring and friendly (though there are a very few exceptions). The medical care is excellent and helped me greatly, while the case management over my outside issues has been even more helpful. (However, the lack of communication about said medical care has been more than a little frustrating.) I definitely recommend the food there, which is about third best out of the ten facilities I have stayed at. (One of the two places with better food is in the process of closing and has long since shut down their cafeteria.)
My husband came to Kindred Sahara with a host of issues from Covid-19 and then some. The fantastic staff at Kindred has gone above and beyond to help us and to expedite his complicated recovery. Dr. Singh literally saved my husband's life from his first day of hospitalization, and now follows his progress at Kindred. Carl S. made us feel more than welcome, Stephnee R. has a wonderfully comforting manner and keeps us informed of his progress. Ebony R. goes out of her way to keep our spirits up and facilitate virtual visitation in the age of Covid. I can't say enough good things about the nurses, doctors and therapists at Kindred Sahara. God Bless them all! They deserve 10 stars!!
My mother was a patient here in 2010 and received good care, so when my husband needed long term acute care, it seemed like the right choice. We've been happy with the care he has received with one exception. The staffing seems to be short on CNA staff because when patients push the call button it sometimes takes too long for a response. If you need help to sit on the bedside commode, you need it soon not 20 minutes from now. Doctors, nurses, CNAs, RT, PT, OT, housekeeping, case managers and everyone we interacted with were all very compassionate and always tried to be helpful. Please staff a few more CNAs, they are stretched too thin and could use some help.
If i could give this place a 0 stars I would matter of fact negative stars. This place did the absolute worse with taking care of my mother. They did not bathe her for days or weeks at a time. I literally had to call a meeting with the higher up people of this hospital because of how dirty my mom was. I recorded and took pictures of times when i came to see my mom and she was crusty all over her face and her body was another color because she was so dirty. Plus it smells in this place and it’s so dark like death! It’s not comforting at all and they don’t have enough staff to take care of your loved ones especially if your person can not speak for themselves!
My brother is currently staying there and is transferring soon, He’s only been there a few weeks. He came a long way he was in critical condition before he got there. He had to have a tracheotomy and wasn’t conscious at first but over these last few weeks he showed progress, He now can move his arms and legs and is slowly speaking and just got his tracheotomy removed. I really appreciate the care the staff here have showed and I would honestly rate them 10/10 if I could! They are nice here and make sure the patients get the care they need. I’m so astonished at the progress he’s made here and recommend people to come here if they need to.
I am Maria Barraza I’ve been at Kindred for a month recovering from COVID. I am really glad they sent me here. The staff really care and the food is good. The Nurses, doctors and administration have made me feel like I’m home. Pam, Angela, Maddie, Jennifer, Michelle, Andre, Liza, Dr Schlokter, Dan, Shannon, Ebony and Excel are some of the staff that have stood out. I appreciate all that you have done to make my recovery possible. I’d also like to mention Josh and Milly they work with me on my physical therapy and are trying really hard to get me on my feet also thank you Milly for going out of your way and cutting my hair. Thank you all.
Positive environment. Motivated staff members. Patient advocate very attentive to patients needs and concerns, actively listens handles patients concerns in real time This company is very lucky to have her, a well rounded individual she goes above and beyond treats individuals with respect actively listens. The entire staff has positive energy and works great as a team. I was surprised when I arrived, the very next day after being admitted I was assessed by the wound team. I didn't realize you had wound care, ICU and Hyperbaric right in the building. You guys are really on the ball. Such a positive atmosphere.
THANK YOU very much Kindred family for taking care of my mom during her stay with you. We are grateful and appreciative of your excellent care extended to her. Kudos to everyone who helped — to the remarkable Doctors, the kind-hearted Nurses, the fantastic & thoughtful OT and PT team, the amazing RT team, the incredible & pleasing CNAs particularly Rere, Axum, Melissa, and Tarik, the hard-working & warm-hearted EVs guys, the wonderful Dietician team and the rest of the Kindred Staff, for my mom’s fast recovery. You all did a great quality service to your patient. Keep it up, Kindred family.
Kindred Sahara staff members are very kind and helpful. They take good care of my father, and give him the services that he deserves. Special thanks to Ebony for scheduling visual visitations. During Covid-19 this is the only way we can see our father, it means a lot to my family. We appreciate your help and efforts. Stephany the case manager was helpful and informative. She had answered all our questions very patiently. We are glad that we chose this location, our overall experience has been wonderful. I highly recommended this facility to anyone who needs the same kind of help.
I want to thank the staff at Kindred Sahara Las Vegas for the compassionate care they gave my sister who was a patient there for over a month. I especially give kudos to Stephanie the case manager and to nurse Ebony for their patience and understanding. Every question I asked was answered professionally and courteously. Every request for a FaceTime call was cheerfully granted. The PT team worked diligently to improve my sister’s mobility. Thank you so much, all of you, for making the month less stressful for all of us. I would recommend you to any patient in need of acute care.
Kindred Sahara has been amazing with our loved one. He has been at this location for about a month now. Ebony has been very helpful and great with our requests and is extremely compassionate. Everyone has been amazing. The CNAs, nurses, and respiratory techs take very good care of him and also have a smile on their faces when we visit him outside the window. His case managers Paula and George are also very helpful and informative with his case. Everyone at this location has made our hard times a little better by being caring and compassionate towards us and our loved one.
I feel the nurse & cna where in most part helpful and kind. Nurse Alexa really help me through a dark time and that I can’t say thank you enough. The food once understood what a Renal diet was very tasty, there is still room for improvement but as far as taste good! There are few doctors that need to work on there people skills which I will address at a later time! But to the staff & support team and nurses the true back bone of any hospital thank you and a special thanks again for Nurse Alexa for going above and beyond to help me get thru a rough patch...! Thank you
Kindred Sahara is amazing..... My husband has been there for several weeks and I'm very pleased with how professional the staff and doctors are. They have weekly meetings, and include me of how my husband is progressing. Also his primary Dr. Aranga calls me and updates me on his progression regulaly, and his nurse advocate Ebony is amazing. Since there's no visitors allowed she facetime's me so I can see my husband. Also Paula his Case manager is amazing and also very nice. I highly recommend Kindred Hospital Sahara. They will take good care of your loved ones.
Last time I was in your facility everything was good. My recovery went really well and I left with some wonderful memories. This time around things are going just as well my recovery time is taking a bit longer but I am confident that your staff are doing all they can to help it along. I have met some wonderful people here they are truly growing on me. I am hoping to go home soon if it is Gods will. I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend Kindred to anyone with complex health needs. They are amazing and will do what it takes for the patient. God Bless you all
My dad has been at this location for a few months; I can't remember how many, because it's the 5th one this year. I would say this and the other Kindred are the best so far. The staff seems to care more and the only problem we had at this location was quickly addressed and it was from a temporary staff member. The nurses and doctors communicate woth family well. The patient advocates remember family and the coordinator stays in contact when you're unable to visit. I would say it's pretty good when you're dealing with a difficult point in life.
As long as my father's happy I'm happy. You all are have made it possible for him to have the braces removed from his legs. The thought of those being gone brings so much hope for him to continue to progress. My father was on the vent and has made more progress at your hospital than anywhere else. Any thing we have needed from big to small has been taken care of right away. Your staff are wonderful and it all comes down to quality of care. I greatly appreciate Kindred and all you have done to make sure he's received the care he deserves.
My wife is currently in this facility. 11/26/2019. I have no complaints. I have been healthcare 25 years and I have not seen a staff like this. They as a group have one thing in common. COMPASSION AND CONCERN. The response to our needs where excellent. I loved the nurses, respiratory team, full of life. Please and come visit if your thinking about using this facility. I would never tolerate my wife or any patient being mistreated. I never sensed. If I had a complaint I would express it. Great facility for compassion and concern.
My husband Mr. Goodman is a patient at Kindred Hospital, I would like to thank all the staff starting with Laura and Kimberly at the front desk they always have a smile on their faces and I am so touched by warm greeting. The nurses are so kind and caring , Alba is a wonderful patient relation rep,she goes above and beyond to help my husband and me with any problem we may have had. But the time has come for him to discharged back home. You all did a great quality care. Sincerely Mr and Mrs Lee and Kevin Goodman as perfect
After I became infected with COVID 19 I was transferred to Kindred Sahara for rehabilitation and the medical care. I would highly recommend this institution. The staff has been very professional and caring, and extremely helpful. Being a physician I recognize when good care is being delivered. Eden, Josephine, Shanon, Michelle, Liza hace provided outstanding care, beyond my expectations. The therapist were very supportive. Ancillary services were also A plus. Kudos to kindred Sahara and all the things you have to offer.
I'd like to say since I've been in your care I've experienced nothing but satisfactory and great care. I'd definitely recommend to anyone that needs this type of care to come here. Your staff is excellent and has been nothing but good to me they have showed me nothing but respect. Everything from the food to therapy all of the above has been good I've experienced nothing but good since I've been here. They have worked very hard to make me happy. So if your looking for great health care Kindred is the place for you!
I've been at Kindred Sahara for about 2 weeks, coming from a regular Hospital at first glance I was sort of skeptical. The rooms are shared and small. But all of the skepticism was put to rest when I experience the care, the concern, the compassion of the entire staff. On my down days I would receive encouraging words from the nursing staff. At Kindred if I call upon a nurse it may be my nurse or someone else's nurse unlike the hospital I left. Great staff keep encouraging, and take great care of patients. Thank L
We are extremely pleased with the care that my wife has and continues to receive here at Kindred (Sahara) Hospital. The staff has been great in explaining any issues or documentation needed from the time we entered the ICU, till now that she's in a regular room. The nurses and CNAs have been great (I know their names but don't want to leave anyone out), always taking great care of her and executing excellent patient care. Very grateful for the entire staff as we continue our journey of recovery. KAAPANA
I have been a patient here for the past week. The treatments and the entire staff are top notch. I feel fortunate to be here under the care of this hospital. While being treated for my condition, Kindred has a well-rounded staff of doctors, nurses and therapists that have given me the confidence that I will recover from this illness. In addition to the medical staff, the patient advocate visits me daily to ensure all is well. I also have to mention that the food here is great!
My name is Shawn and I'm happy with the treatment I've gotten and your staff. I was on a ventilator when I arrived and in a very dipressed state. Could not talk and was worried about my vocal cords and not being able to eat or drink was more difficult than I can describe. Now that I can do all those things it's the best feeling. I am also off the ventilator and I'm so happy about how far I've come. Joseph your night shift CNA is awesome. I feel comfortable when he's working.
The staff is very skilled and it's amazing how they manage to function under the amount of stress during this COVID period. The food is delicious. Very concerned medical staff. They keep me informed of my progress and are very cooperative with me working twords my healing. Their teamwork is outstanding. I am so lucky to have Dr. Sheikh as my attending physician. Of course I never want to find myself in this condition again but if I do Kindred Sahara will be my first choice.
Great care from ALL staff members. Great place to get you back on your feet! Everyone involved in my care has been friendly, kind, & caring. When I was first admitted to Kindred about 6-8 weeks ago I hardly had the strength to hold my head up. Today, w/their help I'm currently able to walk w/a walker & I'm on my way to walking again. Kindred is the place to get help to your recovery. I highly recommend Kindred Sahara. Food is pretty good for this type of facility.
“Coming in I had no expectations. Not a lot of hope. And a lot of fear. I was very scared. I found the people that work here to be the reason that I was successful in getting better. They truly care about us. They truly cared about what happened and how treatment was going. I never felt like a number. The respiratory department is amazing. The people that work in that department saved my life. Thank you to everyone there. You have given me hope.” Deana Erickson
Every morning I want to thank the overnight nursing shift for the wake up and gown change/body wash. It really helps to get your day started clean!!! There have been a few items that I have discussed with the staff verbally and they have been handling them 100%! Jeremey, is an outstanding Nurse and great bedside attitude!! Mr. Osborne; also a 100%. I refer to him as old school! His bedside is awesome and he is old school! Gentle and very helpful when needed!!
I feel as though the personal care here is top priority to the nurses and the entire staff. There seems to be good comradery when it comes to the team working together to make sure the patient gets what they need. CNA Matthew is a phenomenal young individual who's skills far surpass his currant position. He takes the time to explain things to the patient and also innate ability to teach and train others. I've seen him share his skills with nurses and other's.
Everything has been perfect for me. My wounds are healing thanks to the wound care team. When they say they are coming they come. I don't have to look for them. And when I need help with getting cleaned up the staff have been there for me. I'm working with therapy and they are understanding when it comes to my medical schedule. I'm getting stronger and hopefully I'll be home soon. Thank you to everyone for taking care of me! I feel my strength coming back.
My father was transferred to Kindred Sahara from the hospital where he was in the ICU for two weeks. The staff at Kindred Sahara took very good care of him during his four weeks there. We appreciate all their efforts to help him recover from his illness. Sometimes we had to request the that the staff on duty take care of reoccurring issues he was having with his basic care, but overall it was a good experience for him and our family.
I’m very fortunate to have ended up at this facility, I know right now I would not have made it 3 weeks, had it been any where else. The staff seems highly educated and puts forth every effort for you to be successful and healthy. Many thanks to the respiratory department. Having experienced a tracheotomy I’m so grateful it was at Kindred. Special thanks to the PT department Strati and his staff definitely got your back.
They have been taking really good care of my brother. I know he’s been a difficult patient but you all are so kind and patient with him. Dan, Jeremy, Aretha,Terry and Nataly are so nice. I’m so pleased to see he is now off the ventilator and his heart rate has come down. You have a great team and they work very hard. Such nice people and It’s the small things like shaving him and making sure he’s clean that mean so much.
My son had a major heart attack and stroke. Cher Thompson was instrumental in keeping the communications updated . Which was critical to me since i live in another state. She always responded to questions and problems in a timely manner. Cher went the extra mile for my son and it is greatly appreciated. I wish there were more dedicated people like her. Don’t know what I would have done without her Saundra Formato
The staff is phenomenal. I wasn't happy with my roommate when I arrived I was anxious and apprehensive but the staff stepped in right away and made me very comfortable. The care and therapy is terrific and I'm happy about my obvious progress. The fact that my mother is pleased with the care means a lot because we've had some bad experiences with hospitals and doctors. Thank you all I couldn't appreciate you more.
I feel that the care from kindred Sahara has been just fantastic, doctor, nurses, cafeteria workers, housekeepers are all fantastic. There are two Gentlemen that work in housekeeping that have really gone out of their way to assist me with any of my needs. Anything they weren't able to do themselves they'd get whoever could. Kindred I really do appreciate the kindness and care of your hospital. Please dont change.
This is the best facility my son was in. The nursing staff is above reproach. The head nurse Ebony was fantastic. WOUND CARE TEAM was unbelievable, and conscientious about their job. Our case manager Stephen as so kind and helpful. We had a round table every Friday where we could find out what progress was made and where we need to get things fixed. Fabulous facility. Feel confident to put your loved one there.
The medical and nursing staff at Kindred Sahara are indeed an exceptional group of people. You can feel and see the care and concern for the patients. My aunt has a Godsend by the name of Ebony. She is very informative and caring to our loved one and daily allows us a visual zoom so we can interact with our aunt as some of us are very faraway and also there are covid restrictions. They rate a 5+ in my eyes..
The nursing staff were very receptive to my needs. They provided me with good pain management. The facility was sanitary. Physical and occupational therapy was very helpful in helping me to regain motor skills. The cafeteria food was excellent and the doctors were really good about coming by to check on how I was progressing. The speech therapist was very nice and helpful in me regaining my vocals.
Busy place, but they are good at getting to all their patients. Every nurse I encountered was very nice and was really good about providing me my pain medication when I needed it. Nurses seem like they truly care about their patients. Ebony was great at making sure my stay was comfortable and that I felt good about my care. If you need additional help after a hospitalization I recommend this place.
I had the privilege of being a patient at Kindred Sahara for 3 months. In that time I worked with hyperbaric, respiratory, physical, occupational, dietary, and nursing staff. They treated me with respect, kindness and understanding for my situation. The patient advocate Aubri was wonderful and helped throughout my journey.I would highly recommend this facility to anyone needing these services.
My stay at Kindred Sahara was excellent and safe, I’m very thankful with all the CNA’s and Nurses including Melissa, Axum, Eduany, Jeremy, Bernice and Alba they all treated me with respect and dignity. I surely will miss the delicious food, keep up the good job everyone I would have no qualms in recommending this hospital to family and friends, thank you for the great care
My brother has been at Kindred Care Sahara for 4 weeks now and I have found the communication between the staff and my mentally challenged brother and my family to be great, and the care and pleasantness of the staff has been wonderful. They genuinely seem to care and what to help. They have been invaluable to the extended family - with many of us being out of state.
Kindred is a good hospital. God had me come here to recover. The staff have been great and provided me with great service. Kindred will help you if you need them. Being on the vent was tough but they worked with me. You have to stay calm and control your self. I appreciate everything Kindred. You guys are great and put in all the effort to get me where I am.
I'm very happy with the care my son has been getting. Wound care has been taking good care of my son's wounds. The nurse's and CNAs are doing a wonderful job, as well as the doctors. The respiratory therapist are absolutely good. I have witnessed wonderful team work and that makes everything flow well. They even check on me to make sure I am comfortable.
I'd give you a 10 if I could. Your staff deserve a 10 plus. The doctors are also amazing. I really have been spoiled. One of your therapists Aubrey kept a smile on my face. Between Kindred and the first hospital I was in I feel my life was saved. The food was good if I wanted extra it was right there. You advocate is very helpful. 10 plus all all the way
Kindred provided the most caring and attentive environment for my wife. Their menu was superb per my wife and the nurses were all top notch and all deserve a raise for the amount of time they take to attend to and care for their patients. Thank you Kindred! We expect the same from the next step in her rehabilitation from stroke at the Flamingo location.
Best food of any of the hospitals I've been to your cooks are amazing. Your nurses very good. I can tell they really care and love their jobs. Rob is amazing I can tell he loves his job. He's always there when I need anything. Your administrative staff are also so friendly and helpful. This is the best hospital I've ever been in. You all were great!
I feel that kindred Sahara is very knowledgeable and courteous. My husband's care was excellent. When he first arrived he was none responsive. After three weeks he became aware and responsive. Thank you to the staff for all they did to make my husband comfortable. Kudos to Lisa, Eva, Eden for the attention they gave my husband.
The health care workers here are great. Many of the patients are difficult to deal with. However, no matter how difficult they are the workers stay professional and seem very sincere in their efforts to make everyone as comfortable as possible. When I ask for something they always help me with a pleasant attitude.
I recommend Kindred Hospital to anyone seeking responsible care for their love one's health and personal needs. The support they've shown my family concerning our mother in their healthcare is very commendable. We feel secure knowing she is there with this Hospital and dependable staff. Thank you Kindred Hospital.
Your nurses are really nice and come to my ad when I need them. Most of the CNAs were concerned with taking there time to make sure my needs were met. There are some that were in to much of a hurry. I like the hospital and the staff. I have seen how they function during an emergency and they're right on it.
In coming to kindred it was a big transformation and It was well worth it as far as getting my health better. The staff was very friendly and courteous and I appreciate everything that was done for me. Everyone that came through the door was well mannered even the man that works with maintenance Adrian.
The staff here is awesome and very attentive. They are also very personable. Nasrin is very kind and works hard to make me as comfortable as possible. I have even received kindness from Melissa and Emmet with housekeeping. The rehab department is great and will help you work hard to get to your goals.
The staff at this facility is very kind and friendly. Wound care team is amazing! They are very helpful and always willing to answer any and every concern. HBO team is just as awesome! Whenever a concern arises, I can speak to the Nursing director and know with confidence the issue will be addressed.
My stay at Kindred Sahara was very pleasant, all staff took great care of me special shout out to Vanessa, Ashley, Millie and Cashmere for outstanding care. I’m very grateful for physical therapy you did a terrific job, and I will miss the food it was exceptional and delicious. I will miss you guys.
I'm very pleased with what the doctors nurses and CNAs are doing for my brother I couldn't be more pleased Amen I love you all for loving and taking good care of my brother. I've told my entire family how nice and kind you all are. If I need a place I know where I'll go. I'd recommend Kindred.
My husband came here after the ER discharged him and the hospital was clean, the staff professional, thorough, and so friendly. All nurses, CNAs and respiratory team are so helpful in every way. They made my husband feel at ease and helped us understand what to expect as he recovers.
Been hospitalized here for almost 3 weeks, my experience here has been wonderful. The nursing staff to admin has been there to assure that I am comfortable and all my needs have been met.. thank you to all of you. You are very caring and very professional. Once again THANK YOY!!!!

Staff was exemplary. Working as a team is a hallmark at this location. Excellent service provided on a 24 hour basis. Management makes you feel you are part of a large family. All the doctors were hands on and never failed to follow-up or facilitate a request.
Kindred has a very caring staff. They have been very inspiring and motivating me to get better. The nurses, CNAs,and wound care have all been amazing in their treatment of me.They allowed my husband to bring in extra snacks for me to help me eat more.
Therapy is excellent! care for the patient is excellent and the rooms are Nice and clean. The nurses are good the CNA's also. My medicine is always on time. I have no complaints. When I arrived I felt I might die now I feel Like I Will walk out.

Love this place. The staff is great and really sincere. My mom has been here awhile and they still treat her like they did her first day there. Erica in case management is awesome she always popping in or calling to get updates or to see if
This is a horrible place!!! I believe most of these reviews are made up!! My mother had to be taken to another hospital because she was neglected and In worse condition than when she arrived!!!! There is only 1 doctor, he goes from facility
My stay at kindred was excellent for the most part, they have very kind caring care givers in the majority of departments including the kitchen staff, there are some exceptions as I feel there are in any facility or hospitals in Las Vegas
My name is Michael list when I arrived at this hospital I was extremely confused due to unforseen circumstances. Now that I am coming around I have been told that I did and said things that I would never do or say. I will have to learn to
I’m currently a patient at this facility and I have had some amazing staff here. From amazing nurses like Bliss, Naserin, Eden, Raelyn and Sally to amazing CNAs like Michelle (Mitchy), Aretha (my ABSOLUTE fav), Aaron, Matthew, Arsema and
