Do not waste your time coming here. I would give this guy negative stars if it would allow me to. My first visit there, I get there a few mins early. The receptionist got me checked in and sent me back to a room. Although other reviews on her were negative, she was quite prompt in her duties. After about 30 mins of waiting, I stepped out to ask if I was going to be seen. She looked surprised, and didn’t know I was waiting still. When she went looking for James, she found him doing an unplanned procedure. When she told me, I was immediately frustrated and asked what this meant for my appt. She then went to ask him how long he would be, he gave a short response and said not long. 15 mins pass, still nothing. So I walk out and he’s standing there just talking to another patient in the lobby. Still doesn’t say anything to me so I continue to walk to the receptionist to request a refund on my copay. He looks at me and says, I can see you now. And I respond confused telling him I don’t have time. He then shrugs his shoulders and goes back to the office rooms. Even the receptionist was shocked. I expressed disappointment and frustration that he didn’t even apologize for wasting an hour of my time. She said that it’s rare that he apologizes so I asked her to bring him back out so I could explain to him what he did wrong. When I get to him, I tell him that his actions are ridiculous and unprofessional. He went on to blame the receptionist as if she was supposed to read his mind, then says he was taking care of his patient the way he believes he should, as if he couldn’t step out before he started his non emergency procedure to tell me - hey, I’m sorry this is unexpected can you wait or would you like to reschedule. Or have the other patient wait since it’s non life threatening! But of course, he is oblivious to his unethical, unprofessional, and lack of patient courtesy ways that he thinks it’s everyone else’s fault but his that he didn’t communicate appropriately. After I told him about himself, he got all worked up and said, well clearly you shouldn’t be a patient of mine. And in my head I was thinking... Duhhhh!!! Hell no I wouldn’t take you as my doctor, you are horrible! Your character, your practice, it’s all a joke! And please don’t get me started on his bootleg, 1950’s office. All the money he is taking from his patients, he needs to invest in his old, crusty ass office. I was honestly questioning even staying after I walked in because this place was so dingy. Mind you, as I was waiting, I looked at the reviews online and there were similar stories to mine. So I should have known better and researched before o went. Say at that to say, this place sucks. Please don’t go here. It is an abomination compared to the worst place on earth!

The service is HORRIBLE! The only reason this secretary has a job is due to the culture difference with the doctor. I suspect the doctor probably has no idea she is treating people so bad OR he knows but gets her so cheep he does not care. Either way AVOID this weird office. Was looking to save a buck for one of my patients that had a mole to remove but 6 months later I have him at a new doctor in Bellevue. New doc asked if I had the lab results, and that's when I realized Dr. Hu never sent them or even called! I waited 3 months for the results and a summary of our next steps so I finally called today to discover that "The doctor does not call to give results of lab work". The lady roasted me over the phone and pretended that this somehow was a normal procedure at dermatology firms and I was somehow different. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Back to Bellevue dermatologists! Forgive me for trying to save a buck! FORGIVE ME!

Dr. Hu isn't like other doctors. He doesn't get offended if you bring up stuff you've read on the Internet, or if you want to try something different. He's one of the most open-minded doctors I know. I have been a patient of Dr. Hu's since about 2003, and I'm satisfied with the care I've received over the years. I've gone to him for everything from a skin infection caused by a mysterious tropical virus, to fluorouracil (Effudex) treatments and botox injections. As for some of the negative reviews, I think it's important for everyone to find the right doctor, someone whom they trust and have a good relationship with. I also think it's important to try different doctors until you find someone you like, and if you're not happy with your current doctor, to switch your care to a different doctor.

This was the least professional experience I have ever had in medical industry. The doctor was very unprofessional- I was told by both the doctor and the front desk that my visit would be 100% covered by my insurance and that they double checked with my insurance as well. However, I was billed $250 for a 30min office visit that did not satisfy what I came for a visit for. I asked the doctor to continue my retin-a prescription as it has served me well and it effectively kept my acne at bay, but the doctor insisted that I should just buy OTC medicine. I was also asked to get a few vitamins and minerals, and my request about continuing on retin-a was completely dismissed. I do not recommend this doctor as it's a complete waste of time (and clearly money too).

Hey Dr. Hu has been my only doctor for over 20 years. The skin is our biggest organ that is why we need good care. Dr. Hu is that guy. He always gives me the best care I pay out of pocket, and he is very reasonable. The receptionist is very shy people need to stop writing bad reviews of the receptionist. She does the job, and does it well. She is not gonna ever greet you with a huge smile offer you water. It is not her style she will give you directions to the restroom, and the drinking fountain. Just relax be patient. Dr. Hu is worth the wait.

Both me and my son sees Dr Hu for all our skin concerns. Dr Hu's office is always very clean. I still remember that visit when I got badly hurt by a laser in some med spa elsewhere. Dr Hu took the time to look up the laser on-line before deciding the best medicine for me. Other doctors would have quickly get me out of their practice. He also maintains a holistic approach to my son's psoriasis. My son is doing much better with his itchy skin under Dr Hu's care.

Excellent doctor! To read anything otherwise about Dr. Hu or his staff is mind boggling. My husband and I deeply admire Dr. Hu's approach and are so grateful for his services. We were seen immediately upon a referral from our primary care physician. Dr. Hu took time to listen and to research various treatments. He was extremely thorough, kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. The treatment options he provided us were spot on.

I love Dr. Hu. He is gentle, kind, thorough, and meticulous. This is not a medi-spa or fancy place... just a practical dermatology office. I get botox here, the results are always what I want and are always consistent. I have never had any issues with the secretary, she has always been polite and professional when I speak with her in person and on the phone.

James Hu is a fine physician. The receptionist is a nightmare. Terrible attitude, believes her's and James' time is more important than anyone else. Unable to communicate effectively and completely unprofessional. This is enough to make me give 1 star and suggest anyone looking for a dermatologist or even simply Botox treatment seek services elsewhere.

My experience with Dr Hu has been consistently great. He has a quiet demeanor and he is open to questions, listens attentively and he is the one doc that dug in to a problem I’ve had for 20 years and he is the one physician who listened, actually took time to read through my history and attempt to solve the puzzle. I can’t thank him enough!

I'm one of the many patients who love Dr Hu. I have been seeing him for decades. Yes his wait list would back up sometimes but I haven't had that problem for years. He is VERY thorough and pleasant. Great Doc.

  • Stacie Leslie

Best botox I have ever received. Don't judge a book by its cover- this is not your typical fancy med spa. Dr Hu took his time and was extremely careful and precise. I will definitely be back.

  • Brad Nehring

Had a great experience with Dr. Hu. He is extremely knowledgeable, has great insight and takes all the time necessary for his clients, more than any other skin specialist I have ever seen.

  • Jamile Mack

Competent medical services provided by Dr. Hu, utterly unprofessional receptionist/scheduler. She's actually a nice person just might not be the right environment for her.

  • Ryan Bailey

Rating should be higher. All recent reviews are 5 stars the bad ones are from over 3 years ago. This place and the doctor rocks. No complaints as a first time patient

  • Celeste Murphy

Dr. Hu is wonderful. He was methodical, listened, asked questions and didn’t try to upsell me. Best part is that his work is excellent and he’s competitively priced.

  • Nance Hill

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Hu. He genuinely cares about his patients and is very knowledgeable. I am happy to be a repeat patient of his.

  • Chris Mugisha

Very poor experience in an unclean office. Dr. was not helpful/approachable in the least.
