Yes, this is the best dermatology clinic in Seattle area to go to for serious, particularly rare, skin conditions. The best MDs in the field and a great referral system so that can be seen by THE regional specialist in whatever is effecting you. I would highly recommend UWMC Dermatology Clinic. --- That being said, their services are so highly in demand that it is extremely hard to be seen as a new patient. You will need to be strategic, calling on exactly the right day and in the early morning right as their phone line opens, in order to be scheduled. Your new patient appt will likely be six months out. And then when you have your appointment, the doctor may be brusk, overworked, and tell you they only have time to hear about one concern and can only give you 5-10 minutes. This WILL be demoralizing and hard. Once you are an established patient, make sure you schedule an appointment within three years, otherwise you will be again be considered a new patient and you'll have to repeat this process. You will need to be aggressive in order to seen here. I was diagnosed with a serious skin-related cancer in a foreign hospital and then returned to US, where I sought treatment at UW. Even with a cancer diagnosis, I was repeatedly told I would have to wait six months before I could be seen. I recommend going IN PERSON if you are rebuffed by uninformed and/or emotionally detached receptionists. They will not budge; you will need to somehow get in touch with the RN office manager. Getting your foot in the door at this clinic is seriously dehumanizing and was frankly hands-down the most stressful part of being diagnosed with a rare lymphoma. It shouldn't be like this, but I'm writing this so others are informed going in. I wish I had known all this going in.

Worst clinic service ever, I would give them negative star rating if it's possible. They was late more then an hour, NO apology from their end, and I wasted more then an hour of my time, and it was a waste of money for an outrageous two bill charged for the 10 mins that they spent looking at my bump. A disappointed visits, I'll never come back here again. My story: I scheduled with a representative to see a dermatologist to check a bump on my skin, they told me come in at 3:45pm and be on time, so I came there extra 15 minutes. When I arrived, they took me in a room, WAITED for 1 HOUR and 5 MINS, which is at 4:50pm, and thought I would see a dermatologist, however, they sent in a clinic rotation student (don't remember her name), she look at it for like a few mins then came out to bring a dermatologist (Jr. James Co) in to check for another few mins, they told me to book another appointment to check on it again, and sent me home. Charged 2 bill for like 10 min that they look at my bump, cost over two hundred, but nothing solved, my bump is still there.

Absolutely horrible service, go somewhere else. I had an appointment scheduled to see Dr. Bergstrom and when I arrived the front desk people were loudly gossiping. I had to awkwardly stand there for 3 minutes while they talked and didn’t acknowledge me. They were rude and dismissive once I did get checked in. I waited 25 minutes with no updates on when I would be taken back. I asked the front desk how long it would be and they informed me the doc was running 30 minutes late. They didn’t tell me that when I arrived. They proceeded to loudly talk to each other gossiping away very unprofessionally. 5 mins later they then told me it would be another 20 minutes before being taken back. I ended up leaving and am going to find another dermatologist. I wish Dr. Bergstrom was still at her Mercer Island clinic. Avoid UW Derm at ALL costs, the clinic is also at the end of a long, creepy, dark hallway.

UW has an excellent reputation for health care and I’ve seen an excellent surgeon in the woman’s health clinic so it’s even more surprising that the doctors at the dermatology clinic are so beneath excellent I found them to have one concern: money, what insurance will cover. It surprises me more because you would think as a school they would have plenty of funding to have to focus so much on what things cost. I have seen 3 doctors in their office and the worst experience was dr Vary who is the head of the clinic! He took about 3 seconds to remove a sebotoric keritosis rolled his eyes when I asked for a second biopsy and come to find out he left most of the irritated tissue and did not remove it! I’m furious and considering a lawsuit.

I called to schedule a appointment that my Internal medicine doctor wanted me to get in to see them on a mole that she wanted the dermatologist to look at. The person at the office was rude and said that I would have to call back that they could not schedule me until September and the schedule was not open at this time to schedule anyone. I work for the UW first off I would never have a rude attitude. I would of done my best to get them in as soon as possible not to wait until September. The Dermatology department is awful. The staff needs to go through a customer service training how to be respectful. I have a appointment with someone else that got me in sooner then September.

I’ve seen two doctors here. The first prescribed me medication that made my condition worse, not better. My second provider got me actual answers. But after a lab test, they took more than three weeks to get back to me on how to proceed for treatment. (I’m still waiting on a response.) and yes: I even called twice and was told my message through ecare would be given priority. Patients deserve answers. I understand doctors are busy, but waiting three weeks (or more) erodes our trust in the system. I think this is probably less about the individual provider and more about the office environment that has led to this degree of oversight. It’s unacceptable in terms of patient care.

Speedy medical appointment - world class care! I arrived as requested 15mins before appointment. Since I had not been a patient since prior to Covid, I had to complete short health form. As I began filling in page, name was called to come in to the clinic. Literally just 5mins Once in the examining room, staff took my vitals, had me change into gown but before I could Dr Rea and a nurse enter and begin examine. Start to finish was less than 45mins and that included mole biopsy. Total professionals from world class medical doctor. Patients complaining in wait times I get, but keep it in perspective - you’re receiving highest quality care anywhere in the world!

I agree with the bad reviews posted. Zero customer service. Waited for an hour and finally asked about the delay. The nurse announced that I will not be seen for a while. She also told me that this is an urgent “first come-first serve” appointment. Really? I made my appointment a week ago. How is it urgent? And the scheduling person didn’t mention anything like that. Terrible. They really don’t care or value your time. However, once the doctors arrived they were great and addressed my issues.

Horrible clinic. Zero customer service and they could care less about your time. If they’re running behind or have scheduling issues, they’ll make it your problem, even if you’re standing right in front of them. I’m clearly not the only one with this issue as numerous reviews have been left with 1/5 stars. I thought UW clinics work toward delivering a high standard of care, but this clinic does not.

Dr. Bergstrom is one of the best health providers I have ever had. She never rushes the appointment, and takes extreme care in making sure any skin or scalp issues are thoroughly addressed and explained. From skin biopsies to acne to anti-aging suggestions, she has helped me with it all. I am so sad to be relocating to another state; if I could keep her as part of my care team, I absolutely would!

Dr. Hurts and the clinic as a whole is horrible. Dr. Hurst spent less than 5 min with me , was rude and demeaning . rolled his eyes when I expressed concern that my skin issue for which I had sought consult was not adequately examined. I would never return to this clinic

The doctors and medical staff are amazing, patient and caring. I was high maintenance, high strung and a nervous nelly. They handled it with grace and true concern. Monty is the rock star.

Nurse Karen is an angel! She is very considerate and professional while the uw scheduling system is hard to work with.

Made a mistake on my medication and now I can't pick it up until Monday. I've been out for 4 days already.
