They are kinda inconsistent with pricing. We asked the hairdresser how much it would cost to color my sister's hair and by looking at her hair they said $100. Firstly, the hairdresser messed up the first time because the red wasn’t intense as my sister wanted but still charged us $40 for the products (which I understand). They wanted to rebook her asap to go over it again. Now, we go back and they charged us $200. The red is not even what she wanted but I didn’t think much of it because she has extremely thick black hair and I know it’s hard to color it. My point is, I really don’t understand how you go from saying $100 to $240 plus tax. The staff is nice and welcoming but please inform your customers with accurate pricing. I understand that price increase happens as you do someone’s hair, but it shouldn’t be more than double.

I’m not one to leave bad reviews but I was really disappointed after seeing such good reviews… I asked for long layers and after having been asked if I wanted face framing pieces (which I never usually get) I said sure as long as they are left very long given I always tie up my hair regularly and the rest of my hair is very long. The pieces were cut a lot shorter than I had asked for and cut very unevenly. I only realized they were uneven when I got home since they blew dry my hair and it’s usually very straight. It looks like it doesn’t blend at all with the rest of my hair and won’t even stay in a low ponytail when I tie it back. For reference I have straight long hair. I already hold off on getting hair cuts since I have fear of trusting new people to cut my hair and this is why…

I found this salon on Instagram and I am so happy that I did because I am extremely pleased with the service, the salon is nice and clean, the hairdressers are professional, the prices are reasonable and I always walk out feeling beautiful! My first visit was back in February 2021, I came to get a cut and blowdry. I wanted layers and more volume in my hair as I have thinner hair and for the first time, I got exactly what I wanted. This place became my go to salon. Since then, I’ve been getting my tape-in extensions done with Anastasia, blowdrys with Anastasia, Alena and Thanos and I tried a hair botox treatment for the first time. My hair hasn’t been smoother and healthier in ages! Definitely recommend In The Cut Hair Studio to everyone!! :)

Thanos at ‘In The Cut’ salon is one of the best hair stylists that I had in the many years of my hair journey. He is skilled, experienced and always goes that extra mile to deliver amazing results. I have always kept my hair with a similar style for years to avoid going to salons due to past experiences. But since meeting Thanos, in the past year I went from having long hair to short and brunette to blonde+++ all because I know that the results will be amazing because of how great he is at what he does. He also does my 15-year-old daughter’s hair and she absolutely adores her hair after every visit to Thanos and seeing her happy with her look and how it helps with her confidence means the world to me as a parent. This was my first time at this salon and I absolutely loved M'kaylas work!!! She is so professional and knows what she is doing! I would highly recommend her. I had asked the price of a woman's haircut over the phone before my appointment and I was told it'd be $40 with a junior stylist, I didn't pay attention to the charge when I was there but I got charged $45. I called the next day and asked for the price again and I was told it was $40. When I mentioned I was charged more the person on the phone told me it can be $40-45. It was only $5 more however I would've liked the transparency. I still don't understand how they decide the price if there's a range between 40-45 with junior stylists but ok

By far the best experience I've ever had at a studio. I walked in and the secretary was super nice. My sister had already come here and recommended that I book with Thanos and I'm very happy I did. He's funny, made me feel comfortable, and he had so much patience when he was colouring my hair. I had done box dye before (never again) and it was a little difficult to get what I wanted done because of it. But he didn't give up, and suggested we go a slightly different colour and I'm very happy with the results and how it came out. I highly recommend going to see him! Thank you Thanos and everyone in the studio again for an amazing experience!

In The Cut has a very nice ambiance with a young, super friendly staff. All three of my kids have had hair cuts at In The Cut and all three were very happy with the results.Both my girls had their hair cut by Igor who took the time to ask questions of what they wanted and was very attentive to the way they wanted their hair done. Amélie finished off the beautiful cuts with french braids! My son had his hair cut by Jesse and was really happy with “the flow” of his hair cut as well as getting a perm done by Anastasia which was the icing on the cake! Truly happy with the results! Thank you to all the staff and look forward to our next visit!

Wow what a hair studio! They took 4 hours+ to do my hair (colour & highlights). The hairdresser was doing the hair of 3 to 4 more clients at the same time. I had to keep on waiting!Told the guy to put a few highlights, he decided by himself to do full at the back.And guess what; when i initially called they told me it would cost $200 but finally was charged $300 for something that does not even look good! Worst experience ever! I booked an appointment there after looking at the reviews. Maybe my experience there was exceptional as i understand this is a busy period of the year but one should get the desired outcome for the money paid!

It started with one visit and now I just can’t imagine going anywhere else! Not only did I walk out looking my best! I am so so grateful to Jesse, Kayla and of course Thanos for being so warm and welcoming. I came in with red hair dying to get rid of it and left with gorgeous chestnut brown hair. Thanos really took his time to make sure my hair remained as healthy as possible during the process. He truly shows so much care in his craft. Jesse was so accommodating time wise - I came in with a haircut appointment and decided last minute for the colour. Kayla did my blow dry and curls and I left feeling so taken care of. This was my first time at In the Cut but it’s definitely my new and only spot!

I came here for the first time and I got a blonde balayage and colour correction done by Thanos. I had a disappointing experience at another salon as my highlights weren’t done properly. However, Thanos was able to fix my hair in one session!! He’s genuinely so kind and friendly which puts you at ease! He was so patient and he did an incredible job with my hair. I can honestly say he surpassed any expectations I had for my hair. I walked out the salon happy with the results and I’d recommend this place to everyone! The rest of the staff is also very friendly!

I called the salon on a Saturday morning asking if they could take my teenage girl for an emergency color correction..my kid tried to "correct" herself with various pharmacy and Amazon products (!) and ended up with a 2 tone blond/yellow & orange head..I had never heard of In the Cut and just took a chance. Thanos took her that same day and spent all afternoon on her - what an amazing result and what patience!! He really cared about fixing her hair and he saved the day! My daughter was really happy...Thanks Thanos! And no more home made stuff for my kid :-)

My experience at In The Cut Hair Studio was absolutely amazing. I came in for a consultation because I needed a color correction, and Anastasia was so helpful and kind to me about the entire situation. Her and the other stylists really made sure to keep my hair healthy and ended up fixing my hair better than I could have ever expected. This salon is modern, clean, has the utmost professional and friendly staff. From the moment you walk in you feel welcome and well taken care of. I’ve been doing my hair with Anastasia for 3 years now and I’m so satisfied with her knowledgeable advice for my colour and my thin hair. She’s the only hairdresser I’ve found that can blow dry my hair so that it actually lasts for days! She takes the time to listen to what I want and discusses options with me. Makala is my go to from here on out. She is super consistent and definitely the only hairdresser I have had who understands the meaning of "just taking off the split ends". I love how she goes beyond just the hair service and has given expert advice on how to best care for my hair in between cuts Her services are also extremely well priced compared to most other salons in Montreal.

I came there the first time to have a haircut. Michaela did an amazing job. Quality work. She is also kind and friendly. Why 4 starts and not 5? The salon and the bathroom especially are dirty. Please tackle it soon. Also, when new clients ask you about pricing for a hair cut, make sure you tell them what’s included (e.g. hair wash, styling or not, etc).

I've been going to Makayla for a few years now and she manages to surprise me every single time. She has made me fall with my hair over and over again by giving me crazy makeovers.
