Believe the bad reviews. I wish I had seen them sooner and just canceled by reservation and went somewhere else. I normally book at the airport but the system steered me to this location for the large sum I wanted. I saw the reviews when checking how far from my house it was. I called customer service to ensure they would have my vehicle or switch to a different location. They ensured they would have it. Weeks later on the morning of, they text me and say they don't have a vehicle and canceled my reservation. It was prepaid too. They didn't attempt to find another vehicle or be any help. Called customer service and come to find out the location didn't have a vehicle but didn't cancel my reservation under it being their fault. The thieves were trying to wait so it seemed like I didn't pick it up so they could charge me the whole rental as penalty. I called, someone picked up and you heard a voice behind them say hang up and the line went dead. Numerous calls later and they won't answer. Now because customer care had to cancel my reservation there is no email or anything to prove its canceled due to their fault and a full refund is issued. Then they want me to wait 5-7 business days to see if I get my money back then call them back if I don't. This place is a scam and those positive reviews are probably them or their family members. No way thise are real customers. Calling my credit card company as we speak.

This is how they "NOT" help the customer, and they are officially the worst rental company in my list who just play's ping pong with the customer so everyone can avoid helping. Reducing 1 more star for the Worst customer service.. ----- The team was very nice and friendly but the car they gave me at 2:30pm had a strong cigarette smoke smell & I told them about it and they said they have put a note in the system. They told me to exchange it from the DFW Airport which was not true as the Airport Hertz (at 5pm) did not allow me to exchange the car and told me I was given the wrong guidance and I have to go back to the location for any exchange while they close at 4pm. Airport made me book a new car from them so they can get the money and cancel the previous reservation and charged me for 1 day rental while I used the car only for 2 hours and that too it was not my mistake and they did not help with that. The worst customer service and the worst experience I had with a rental company, I think I will go back to my previous rentals like Avis and Sixt rental.
Our experience with Hertz Car Rental (1200 Ross, Dallas, TX) was a good one. The employees were all professional and engaging. Marquis was the individual we interacted with most. He greeted us immediately upon arrival and kept us informed with the status of our rental; his energy was infectious. He was patient and took the time to explain in detail the process and what we should expect. Our initial reservation was with Enterprise (big mistake). The customer service received was sub par at best, and the vehicles offered were not commiserate with the rates being charged. Of the three vehicles offered, two of them had soiled seats. Needless to say we passed on those vehicles and decided to give Hertz a try and they did not disappoint. I can’t speak to ALL Hertz locations but this location definitely did not disappoint and exceeded our expectations.
Based off my last experience at this location I really did not want to return but I thought “hertz” made it right and you all did but the manger at the hertz location on Ross Ave also known as Genevieve is still rude as ever. At first I thought that maybe she was just having a bad day or maybe it was just me but my second visit proved me wrong. She was not only rude to me but also rude to other customers and very rough with her staff as well and it’s pretty heart breaking. Ms. Deedee help me to my car and my experience with her was totally different from checking in and that process was less than 120 seconds. I would give them 0 stars if I could. I arrived at the rental company on Saturday august 26 right at noon to have the rude woman inside lock the door right in front of me and tell me they had no car for me. My rental car was right there and I told her that ( I had rented in advance and already checked in!) and she yells “I can’t stay “. There was another customer in the store - it would have taken her 5 minutes. Yes I got there right as they were closing but my goodness can’t you be just a bit kinder? She could have easily said I’m so sorry we’re closing and I’m not able to stay for personal reasons instead of yelling at me. I am a hertz gold member (I told her that) and I will never rent from hertz again. There is a reason their reviews are so bad. I went to enterprise and they treated me like a human. Hertz has forever lost my business.
Arrived on time for my prepaid rental reservation at noon at the ross ave location. waited patiently before getting to my reservation. Associate advised me they had no EV at their location but she would call around. Business got very busy and the Associate kept on top of finding me a placement vehicle via another hertz location, while I sat patiently and continued to work. She finally found the vehicle I wanted, paid for my lyft which took me to the irving east location. Everything was handled greatl, especially by sudedra Frank's at the Ross location I originally planned for pickup. She was very organized, empathic, and hands on with everyone there. She deserves a raise!!!
This has to be the WORST car rental place I’ve ever used!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And if it’s always short staffed how or why are y’all even still open?!!!! The customer service is VERY poor especially from Jennaveve or whatever her name is! I was calling there after a previous rental to understand why they took my deposit and was on hold for over an hour!!!!! Once I turned the rental in, they persuaded me to do a good review and I thought “well since I’m not having any trouble turning the car in, I’ll do so” now I want to take the review back!!!! The pick-up was horrible as well!! Please save yourself the time and money!!!!!
A big THANK YOU to Marquis Harmon for making my most recent Hertz experience so pleasant. And KUDOS to the team in general, each one of you showed true teamwork and commitment to getting each customer served! I spent over an hour waiting on a vehicle while the Hertz crew successfully managed multiple personalities and varying levels of attitude from customers at the end of what I can only assume was a long day. While the wait was not ideal, it was a refreshing opportunity to witness extraordinary customer service. I have 20+ years of customer service experience and learned a few lessons in compassion and humility.
I hesitated coming here given the negative reviews, but I’m glad I decided to rent from them. Like all car rental places, they were busy, but the staff working at this location was organized, professional, and helpful. We made our reservation through a third party website (only a few hours before we wanted to pick up the car) and we had no problems. All the paperwork was ready, the car was clean and in great condition, and we were in and out of there in less than 30 minutes. Drop off was also smooth. Gave them the keys, they checked the vehicle, and we were done in less than 15 min. Highly recommend.
Had a reservation, walked 30 mins to 1200 Ross Street location only to be told they don’t have a car for me. Nothing, nothing lower or better I was even willing to pay extra for an upgraded vehicle. Not even a call or email to say the reservation was canceled. I was told we could push your reservation later in the day, we needed to be somewhere at a certain time which is why we selected the certain pickup time. DO NOT USE if you actually need a car to get you somewhere. This completely screwed our vacation plans and wasted almost $1,000 on travel expenses.
I got bad news about my car on a Saturday morning and arrived at Hertz at 11:45 before they closed at noon. Sadeidre and Genevieve went above and beyond to get me a car so my family would have transportation for the week. Despite the fact that I hadn’t been able to go the usual route of procuring a reservation, they found me a vehicle and cut into their own weekends by staying late to provide outstanding customer service. I am impressed with and grateful for their generosity. Thank you Hertz and your wonderful employees!
I would give it 0 stars of I could! We pre booked a car and still had to wait 2 and a half hours to get the car. The staff had no organisation any sense of urgency or any explanation to why it would take so long. They were also quite rude to other customers who questioned why it was taking so long. I would never use this company again. Well beyond appalling. Save yourself alot of time and stress and go to a company that might actually care a little more.
Completely overbilled me. I pre-paid for the reservation. They did not have the car that I reserved and then charged my credit card $430 more than what I pre-paid at the counter. One person had been in there waiting for three hours to get a replacement vehicle for an electric car that they rented him the night before on one percent charge. They only have one person working the whole operation.
The worst! Booked a car, spent time and money on uber to get there only to be told that they don’t have cars. I had a booking for 11:30 AM, the lady told me with an attitude- you booked it today so there’s no cars available. Told me maybe after 4 PM. You guys should at least call or send a message about that so people don’t waste their time! Or don’t let people book at all if you have no cars!
I am a weekly customer here and they always go above & beyond! The staff is great and very kind. Every vehicle I have gotten from them have been clean and running good. Never had any kind of issue with them and if you have a question or need some kind of help they will take care of you. Genevieve always goes the extra mile for customers and very professional

All in all I was nervous renting from this location due to the reviews.. but I did it! I was late and was downgraded due my Tesla having issues but I was still able to get a car. I had no issues with that staff and it was a good 1st time hertz experience.
Tried calling a few times inquiring about extra charges on a completed rental and the lady just says, “ just give me one moment “ and puts you on hold for 30 minutes and until you give up and hang up. If you dislike your job that much go find a new one.
Well that Seinfeld episode about reserving a car happened to me... my reservation was not available and was offered an upgrade with an extra 25 dollars a day.. it does not end here folks wait.. once I got in my rental car I could not locate

The front desk were helpful but didn’t have the vehicle I reserved, instead I got one of lesser value ( I reserved a Polaris and I got a Volt) with out charging cord and adapter.
Made a reservation - on pick up day I am told that they do not have the car I was due to pick up. Frustrating. Now I have to spend time to figure out alternate transportation.
