Hertz refused to deliver the car that I had paid for and there was NO refund of the money! I made a reservation through rental car and paid also for FULL insurance coverage and paid with Debit card online. I received an email to pick up the car from Hertz at Syngrou 25. I visited their office on 13/10 at 17.00 to pick up the car. Arriving, the employee asked me if I have a credit card, I replied that I only have the debit card that I made the reservation AND the PAYMENT. The answer was that in this case I cannot receive the car unless I pay an additional €1000 as a guarantee! Another alternative was to find as an extra driver a relative with a credit card and block 1000 euro from his card as warranty! Also, the other alternative was the cancellation WITHOUT a refund due to the company's cancellation policy. The rental car from its side, as well as Hertz, informed me that this is the company's policy and that they cannot DO ANYTHING. Except from the PRECIOUS WASTED TIME!!! WHY DO YOU ACCEPT RESERVATIONS AND CHARGE DEBIT CARDS???SINCE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO RENT A CAR IF THERE IS NO CREDIT CARD AS WELL? WHY DON'T YOU INFORM THE CUSTOMER THE MOMENT THEY PAY YOU BY DEBIT CARD, THAT YOU ARE ESSENTIALLY GOING TO TAKE THEIR MONEY WITHOUT PROVIDING A CAR??? Regarding your automated reply to my review I want to clarify that I haven't got a full refund. It was the first time that I was renting a car from a "big" company and I didn't notice those tiny letters at terms and conditions... Despite the loss of the money the worst thing was the behavior that your company deals with such cases.

Return Location was awful. We think the car rental (Hertz) is fine. Unless you are well acquainted with Athens roads and drivers I would not advise renting at this location or returning to this location. The staff was super great. I'm rating the location not staff, the staff deserves 5 stars!
