Gazi Hüsrev Bey, Kanuni Sultan Süleyman zamanında Saraybosna’da önemli hizmetlerde bulunmuş bir Sancakbeyi… Aynı zamanda da İkinci Bayezid’in kızından torunu. Genç yaşta anne-babasını kaybeden Hüsrev Bey, sultanzâdelerin eğitim usulünde tahsil görmüş. Belgrad’ın fethedilmesinde önemli hizmetlerde bulunmuş, sonrasında da Bosna Sancakbeyliği’ne getirilmiş. Hüsrev Bey, Bosna’nın ikinci kurucusu olarak görülüyor ve onun Bosna’nın merkezinde, Başçarşı’da inşa ettirdiği külliye savaşlara, işgallere ve göçlere rağmen halen varlığını sürdürüyor. Külliyenin kütüphanesi 1991 yılında yaşanan elim olaylarda büyük oranda zarar görmüş, lakin içerisindeki kitaplar kurtarılabilmiş. gelinlik Osmanlı’nın gelinlikleri Günümüzde bindallı denilen ve yavaş yavaş yeniden aslına uygun kullanılmaya başlanan bu kıyafet Osmanlı devrinde genç kızlar tarafından gelinlik olarak kullanılıyormuş. Evlendikten sonra düğünlere giderken de yine bu kıyafet giyilirmiş. Kadife ve atlas kumaşlar üzerine metal iplerle çeşitli yöresel motiflerin dokunması sonucu oluşan bindallılar, giyildikleri yöreye göre kemer ve çarık ile tamamlanırmış. Avrupaî modasında bindallının yerini beyaz gelinlik almış. Meraklılarına duyrulur; antikacılarda az kullanılmış, temizlerini bulmak hâlâ mümkün… İftarın habercileri top Osmanlı devrinden Bosna’ya yadigâr bir Ramazan topu. Eskiden ezanı işitemeyenlerin duyması için Ramazan-ı Şerifte iftar ve imsak vakti top ile ilan edilirdi. Günümüzde bazı beldelerde yaşatılmaya çalışılıyor. İftar ve imsak vakitlerini ahali-i Müslimine duyurmak için ilk top, 1821 senesi Ramazanı’nda Anadolu Hisarı’nda patlamış. Tabiri caizse, sonrasında patlamış gitmiş. Önce İstanbul’da muhtelif yerlerde, ardından da bütün Osmanlı coğrafyasında kullanılır olmuş. O devirden kalma bir hatırayı buralarda hala görebilmek ne güzel şey.. fotograf İyi ki fotoğraf var Gazi Hüsrev Bey Medresesi’nin talebe ve müderrisleri güneşli lakin soğuk bir Saraybosna gününde (zira gölgeler âşikar; ama süveterler, kazaklar ve yer yer paltolar giyilmiş) fotoğrafçının körüklü makinesinin karşısına geçmiş ve saygıyla samimiyet karışımı bir poz vermişler. Farklı yaş grubundan talebeler mevcut. Yaşı en küçük olanlar en öne oturtulmuş, arkada müderris ve hoca efendiler yerlerini almış, son olarak da yaşı ilerlemiş talebeler en arkada, ayakta poz vermiş. Fotoğrafta şu an size bakan insanların tamamı çoktan toprağa karıştı. Ama fotoğraf o gün kayda alınan ânı, bugün huzurlarınıza getiriverdi. Medrese eski günlerin yeniden geleceği vakti hasretle bekliyor. Biraz gül suyu almaz mısınız? gulsuyu Osmanlı devrinden kalma metal işlemeli bir güldanlık, kimya endüstrisinin henüz hayatımıza bu denli hakim olamadığı devirlerden güzel bir hatıra. Şimdilerde güller bile kokmaz oldu… Eskiden güzel kokular, esanslar Allah’ın kulları için yarattığı bitki ve çiçeklerden sağlanır, gönül rahatlığıyla kullanılırmış. Bunlardan biri de gül. Güllerden elde edilen nefis kokulu gül suları, sanat eseri gündanlıkların içine konur ve gelen misafirlere ikram edilirmiş. Acaba günümüzde kullandığımız esansların şişeleri de birkaç yüz sene sonra bir müzede sergilenebilecek mi? Dua ve sûre nakışlı taslar Osmanlı devrinden kalma bir şifa tası. Üzerine bazı duaların ve sûrelerin, ebcet hesabıyla çeşitli rakamların vs. yazıldığı bu taslara konulan sular, yeni doğan çocuklara, evlenenlere bu taslardan su içirilir yahut üzerlerine serpilirmiş. Pişmiş topraktan, ağaçtan imal edilmişlerine rastlamak mümkünse de daha çok bakır, bronz tarzında metallerden üretilir. Bu gelenek Osmanlılar’a Selçuklular’dan miras kalmış

Although built as a religious school, it now hosts a small exhibition about the colourful life and philanthropic legacy of Ottoman governor Husrev-beg, who received the honorific 'Gazi' (meaning hero) for his role in the conquest of Belgrade. Within the same courtyard is a strikingly modern library. Hidden behind the museum lies the pretty, colonnaded Haniqah; originally built as a Naqshbandi Sufi philosophical school, it is now an exhibition space. The 1537 Kuršumlija Madrasa building is distinctive for its pointed chimneys and the lead roof from which it takes its name.

Gazi Husrev-beg (Ottoman Turkish: غازى خسرو بك‎, Gāzī Ḫusrev Beğ; Modern Turkish: Gazi Hüsrev Bey; 1480–1541) was a Bosniak Ottoman sanjak-bey (governor) of the Sanjak of Bosnia in 1521–1525, 1526–1534, and 1536–1541. He was known for his major contribution to the improvement of the structural development of Sarajevo urban area and his construction of many important buildings there, such as the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque or the medresa Kuršumlija, as well as for his successful conquests and for the launching of further Ottoman expansion into Croatia.

Gazi Husrev-begov muzej je muzej posvećen Gazi Husrev-begu, upravitelju Bosne i najvećem vakifu Sarajeva u 16. vijeku.Muzej se nalazi u Kuršumli medresi, jednoj od mnogih građevina koje je on sagradio.Muzej ima osam tematskih cjelina koje prikazuju njegov život, djelo, vakuf i medresu.U muzeju se mogu vidjeti razni predmeti, instrumenti, fotografije i dokumenti vezani za Gazi Husrev-bega i njegov vakuf.Muzej je otvoren za posjete svakim danom, osim ponedjeljkom.

Definitively worth a visit for anyone who is interested in the osmanic history of Sarajevo! You get a good overview of the immenese impact that Gazi Husrev Beg had on the city and his philosophy behind that. Besides that, the building (which used to accommodate a school) offers a beautiful atmosphere to learn more about Sarajevo!

This shouldn't even be called a museum. As a local, I felt totally ripped off there. Paid for a group of visiting friends and was led into a room with a TV that was showing some very basic information in extremely bad picture and sound quality and a few old letters, that was it. Went back and demanded my money back. Please do not visit this, no not support this scammy "museum".

Very Nicely made Museum with Multiple Rooms of The History of Gazi husrev beg and his Collections of Things that he made Across Sarajevo's Old City. However, there are not many Items or not even alot of Definitions and theres Rarely any Staff around. Still recommend to visit the Museum if you want to see more about Gazi husrev beg and his Amazing Creations he made

Lijep mali muzej u samom centru grada Sarajeva. Građevina je lijepa sama po sebi ali je muzej dosta mali i vrlo brzo se sve pogleda. Na početku prvo pogledate kratki film od desetak minuta u kojem vam je sve lijepo objašnjeno o muzeju. Cijena ulaznice je jako povoljna ( 3 konvertibilne marke). Prodavač na ulazu jako ljubazan.

Gazi Hüsrev Bey müzesi Başçarşıda bulunmakta. Tarihte önemli işler yapmış ve Saraybosna’ya birçok eser kazandırmış. Müzeye giriş ücretli. Türkçe hazırlanmış video ile müzenin içindeki ekrandan müze hakkında bilgi alabilirsiniz.

Last year when we came this museum was closed because of Corona. This year we had the chance to visit the museum. We liked it a lot. It’s a small museum, but interesting. Especially for people who love Ottoman history.

I enjoyed the tour inside .. Galila ,one of the staff ,was very nice and helpful .. thxs a lot .. love you Sarajevo

Place to learn some history about the wakaf of Gazi Husev Bey. It consists of some U-shaped rooms. With some interesting collection inside. Like old manuscripts and relics from Ottoman's time in Sarajevo.
