It's just sad to say that today my friend Ali was assaulted at this establishment, probably by one of these bike toting hoodlums that pretend to be homeless... You can always tell by your gut feeling which one's are the needy and the one's prying on them, by the way they carry themselves. The hoodlums will not be carrying a backpack,or any type of belonging's they will always look like they are either watching their backs or trying to intimate those who make eye contact with them. The less fortunate one's will tend to mind their own business unless they obviously look run down (with dirty clothes messy hair & just looking like they have been sleeping out in the street somewhere or have some kind of mental issue) but be aware of the one's that have clean clothes, between the ages of 19-33 riding bikes while pedaling like they have something to do throughout the day because most likely they are just watching and waiting for their next come up be aware most of these guys just got out of prison and live not by our social standards but by their prison rule's.
I took my dogs to the dog park liked I always used to, I'm scared now, and I left my dogs with a friend of mine to go and get a drink from the corner store. I cross 2nd and start heading north on 2nd. I got too the crosswalk a second to late to get the white guy but I have the right of way and I'm crossing in the crosswalk on the green light. I get halfway across the street when a car heading north trying to get on the freeway almost hits me making a right to go up on the freeway. I notice the light is starting to flash and so I hurry to make it before the light turns red. I was almost across the street, a foot maybe a foot and a half to the sidewalk. Then all of a sudden a truck came flying under the bridge going fast. The police say 35 which is fast for a very tight turn under a bridge. He never saw me, he was too busy trying to make the yellow light to get on the freeway. I was in the hospital with 6 fractures and then transferred to rehab to learn to walk again. I would like to say that the store is fine, if you can get there.
Small place it's quick when you want to avoid large scale madhouse super gas stations, gas stations these days are so big they are as bad as Walmarts. They have too many uneducated people running through them in certain areas and others well rich people can just be selfish and rude and think the gas pumps belong to them and will cut you off and swindle thier way into a spot even though you were waiting in line for that spot. So a nice hole in the wall and yes they sell booze and it's an odd spot off the freeway and near homeless but I don't have to deal with long lines and rude people in a hurry and the staff knows my name. Even asked how my life is once and awhile and always greeted with a smile. And they are open 24 hrs unlike some of these large Walmart sized gas stations because of location and crime here in the 505 they close at 10, Or midnight. Sometimes I just want a 3 am candy bar and non not fat I'm healthy fit marine I just don't sleep and eat what I want because I work it off. Mmmm dark chocolate.
Customers walked in without masks and were allowed to be in the establishment. The door says that there is no service if they are not wearing a mask. After the two people in front of me walked out of the store, I approached the guy behind the counter. I asked him if they were enforcing the "no mask no service rule" he replied "yes". I then asked him why he didn't say anything to the people without their masks. I was then verbally assaulted by the employees who threatened refuse me service for calling them out. One of the employees then proceeded to pull out his phone an accuse me of harassing his customers, even though I waited until they left the establishment to point out the fact that they were not told to put on a mask... He then proceeded to follow me outside and harass me and my wife that was waiting in the car. I have a video of the interaction with the employee, the establishment has a camera pointing at the entrance. We were there at around 7 pm.
Today was my first day of ever going in there. Didn't go in there to buy any liquor though. Anyway, it seemed alright to me. Was talking to a Security Officer who was working at the time about Patrick Mahomes and his new 3 year contract for 500,000.000 dollars. And he's only 28 years old. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to have an endless supply of money at such a young age and the most highest paid NFL player ever. So put your money on the Kansas City Chiefs because they're going to the Super Bowl. Bet that.
I have been coming here for over 15 years always great service the lady that has been working here for years is so friendly today was the first time in 15 years that I go I always take my kids in I buy a beer and they get candy the new lady here today refused to sell to me because my kids needed a ID why would my kids have a ID after 15 years the way I was treated I will not be returning
Be missed when it's gone. As bad as the situation is, Freeway is one of a handful of merchants that STILL caters to the Homeless Community. Proximity is a main feature, but all things considered, I have never been turned away or refused service. I don't drink liquor but I have visited MANY time over the past few years. If you act right, they will treat you right
Right down the street from my mom's and on the way home. I always get calypso drinks here . They have calypso drinks where hardly no one does. Calypso is non alcoholic beverages and are the best. . And of course the have the wine coolers I love also. Oh did I mention gas also?
Great for emergency liquor stops, also great if you are homeless or unemployed. Not great if you have a home to go to or a vehicle that can take you to another place to buy beer. Also, they overcharged me last time we went there, didn't catch it til I got home :/
The employees are not very friendly. Theyb are always under stocked and have a very small selection of everything except liquor. But the biggest problem by far is all the homeless and transients that hang out there literally from open to close everyday.
I love the workers here and I will miss David he has always been such a wonderful worker and best security when he was the security guard there now he's a main cashier worker and I absolutely love him he is such a amazing worrker and always
This is the kind of place where you know someone who makes questionable life choices will ask you for change on your way in. And they did. Liquor is held behind the counter, protected by steel bars. I got in and out without incident.
Gas prices are usually pretty good, that's the only reason I continue going there. The employees (I think it's family owned and ran) are not very nice or friendly. And the liquor prices are little high.
They need to say that they are a convenient store type of store with no selection. Albuquerque’s prices are high as hell. I’ll wait till I head southeast towards Atlanta. Thanks but no thanks.
Employees are very rude discriminate against homeless people tellin them they stink and telling them to hurry up to count their money. No stars. WI'll not find me at this establishment
It was my first time to ever enter into this place and it wasn't to purchase any liquor. I stopped in there to get some cigarettes and it appeared to be alright from what I observed.
It's a good place for the most part!!! They have a good choice of liquor. One thing I will warn others is the drunk homeless do hang out often but for the most part won't bug much.
Cashier is friendly, good selection and prices. The convenient location smells of rich mahogany and leather bound books. The dim lighting on the exterior gives club like ambiance
Awesome it nice to go someplace (freeway liquors) and the same staff is still on the clock always clean, security on duty, and pleasant to do buisness with ! highly recomend !
Same old Freeway Liquors since my last review. High prices but I did find a nicotine vape for a reasonable price. Nice selection of wine/beer cold stuff. Suits the purpose.
Liquor is kind of pricey not too sure if it's because it's right off the freeway also if you do go there you're going to have people constantly asking you for money …
The neighborhood is industrial another word for rugged but these guys sell fuel cheap and they have a good variety of snacks and spirits. The service is always good.
If looking for liquor find another store. The liquor we wanted was locked up and cashier did NOT have a key to open case. The area was super shady too. Stay away.
I like the evening and night employees but day shift employees are always very rude to me. So much so I won't go during the day I'll take my money else where.
I just really like this place. Can't say why because it's nothing special, but they're all pretty chill and we both know that's all too rare. Check it out..
Went yesterday the lady was nice. Went today and the man was charging more than the listed price and refused to change it. Just watch your total.
Great variety of liquor. And great customer service. Friendly and helpful. The only thing is the solicitors there because close to the shelter.
It's not that I dislike it, the owners and the the people are nice to me. People hang out a lot around there! (Intoxicated) for me not good!
Not a safe place at night. Bring someone with you. They don't have security, and the parking lot always has a lot of people in a hurry in it
They have cheap gas I don't really drink that much but I do notice the prices of liquor here is pretty cheap and it's always pretty fast
I get it 5 stars bc it's open till 12 it got bad reviews bc the junkies but its Albuquerque they everywhere so why the hate great store
Literally shut the door in my face 6 minutes before they were scheduled to close. They should not be open if they do not value business
Didn't have a super wide variety of liquors but the workers were super helpful & assisted me in finding alternatives. Very satisfied!
No line, polite service and a fairly well stocked merchandise offering. Only complaint is that they were out of Big Red AND Big Blue!
Nice lady let me park my bicycle inside to get beer....thanks...some guy outside said he would watch it for me...lol....said hell no.
Sketchy but found a substitute for what I came for. Didn't look around too much. Guy at the counter was nice and helpful though.
Very large selection of liquor even though I don't drink. It gets four stars cuz I didn't have a bathroom for a paying customer
Old lady with mole face is the rudest. When is the last time a city inspection was done? Sketch place in sketch part of town.
Place is ok, customer service from cashier was good, not too sure I'd or was an employee or the owner the guy that was rude
Good prices but the area is sketchy. Lots of aggressive people hanging around the parking lot and yelling at customers.
Love this lil store. Open late, cheap price, workers are personable. They have a little of this and a lot of beer …
Owners good, the woman who works there was personally insulting. I feel bad I responded in kind. I no longer go there.
They adhere to CDC guidelines . Plexiglass, gloves , masks , and requires masks to he worn. Thank you freeway liqueurs
Closed the door on customers walking up to the store with an employee LOOKING at us walking up BEFORE their close time
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful but there's homeless people constantly posted outside of the store.
This place is nice always friendly staff, but there has been known to be a lot of hobos outside frequently.
Rude customer service. The Indian(non native)individual needs customer service training. Just a snot. Ugh.
Stopped to buy 30 gallons gas and was told they didn't have a public restroom and they were closing early
Best liquor store in Albuquerque. It has vast range of liquor. You can get all the stuff in this store.
Creeeeepy. Also charges seem to appear mysteriously. Double check all your receipts. I won't go back.
Been going here since I became of age. Everyone is really nice and feels like family when I walk in.
It's kind of in a sketchy location but they have great prices and alcohol the staff is very friendly
Love the staff & security they are all always friendly & keep the place as safe as they can.
Friendly, in and out at your convenience, plus the prices are not bad for the conviencience.
Gas pumps and drink coolers need to be fixed. Security guard was very polite and helpful.
I didn't buy liquor but I visited there bought some goodies snacks they're good people,
Got everything ur looking for to get the party popping or what ever mood ur looking for
Handsome handsome man working the register this morning family-owned great place
Great for the "on the go" forget ables like alcohol n gas next to the freeway
Very cheap gas. I'll keep going as long as they keep up with the nice price.
Rag head tried to rub up on me that Owens the place his pants were unzipped.
Cheap gas, but lots of sketchy people and panhandlers asking for change etc.
5 stars!! oldy but goody store to shop for something fast and Gas of course.
I love the small corner liquor store feel and the staff is always friendly.
Needed some cigarettes and this place was close... Also got a Gatorade...
Not bad for liquor prices. Need to keep the surrounding of store safer.
Small store but a lot of liquor choices and usually open till midnight
Nice people brings back memories from when my father was alive …
Very expensive. Staff very unfriendly and rude. Would not recommend
It was the closest cheapest had I could find at the time, simple.
Do not come to this place if you want to get robbed by homeless
The only good thing about this place is it sells booze and gas
Real nice and great selection. Cute security guard is a bonus!
Very convenient for items I want. Is in walking distance.
It's nice n friendly but there is a lot of pan handlers
Friendly service, convenient, well stocked, have deals
The employees are excellent very nice and helpful.
