Our home has cedar cladding and pillars on the front of our house that had become very weathered in just 5 years. We knew we needed to get the cedar repaired and decided we needed to have it painted. A neighbour up the street was using Ethereal and recommended we contact them and I'm very glad we did! I sent an email on a Wed evening and had a consult with Oscar the next morning, a quote by the following day and within 2 weeks the work was done. We were lucky in that Oscar had time between jobs but I never got the impression that he was rushing us to choose a colour or rushing the work. What I really liked and appreciated about Ethereal: 1) Oscar knew what he was talking about during the consult and he explained why we were having the weathering issue and how to deal with it. 2) The quote was very well laid out, easy to understand and even explained how Etheeral adheres to the Master Painters Institute guidelines which gave me a lot of confidence about Oscar working on our home. 3) We originally had a colour in mind but Oscar didn't just go with it which would have made it much easier for him. He had us pick 3 colours and told us to take our time. He then put up the samples to help us pick the right colour. We ended up going with a different colour than originally planned so this was pretty big. 4) He took the time to sand the surface to get to the original cedar. This is probably an obvious requirement but I'm not sure all painters would have done that. 5) We had 1 small out of scope item where Oscar fixed a pillar that was not constructed properly. Again he could have ignored it but brought it to my attention that he could fix it and he did a great job. The price he charges for out of scope work is very reasonable IMO. 6) The paint job itself was very well done! 7) Oscar was super friendly, considerate (we work from home), and positive! As well we always felt well informed of the status and his schedule etc, whether it be phone, in person, email or text. Anyway, I realize this review is pretty long, but we really appreciated the work Oscar/Ethereal did and we would highly recommend Ethereal!

After purchasing a condo and getting everything ready to move house, I'm a bit shocked to discover on the possession day that the previous owner left a wall partially unpainted behind a large wine cabinet, and the kitchen ceiling just received some water leak damage. I contacted a few painters listed on Google, but understood the interests in such small projects were low. Immediately I got a call from Oscar, and right then through the conversation I could sense the man's care for customers, and attention to details. A very good sign! We could work out the details, a quote and make an appointment as soon as I'd have liked. Oscar then drop by our West Vancouver condo to get a sample of the paint, and explained the procedures in details. On the appointment day. Oscar was on time, friendly and accommodating. But these are qualities of any good professional. Oscar would go above and beyond. For everything involved in the process, he would tell some stories about the industry, and explain how best we are to tackle the problems, but keep the options as streamlined as possible for you. As quickly as he did the job, he would make sure every flaw, caused by the previous paintjob or the building artifact, was eliminated. The resulting product remains aesthetically consistent with the rest of the room, but improved in every way. The ceiling was fixed, and then sealed with three layers of coating, before painted. Despite working hard in the kitchen, Oscar made the room as hot as possible so it would make the paint is baked in sooner. We were able to see the paint blend in perfectly before we left, with no artifact left behind to tell if anything happened at all, and I was able to get back to town on time to pick up my kids from school, without having to fight the traffic. Fantastic work! Ethereal job indeed! And keep up the artisan entrepreneurship please! 10/10. Definitely would recommend!

I have had Ethereal Painting completing the final touches on some exterior updates to my home. Huascar is a consumate professional. The job was quoted at a reasonable price and completed within the timeline agreed. Our discussions showed his knowledge of the appropriate paint for this application and the care and adherence to BC paint code application requirements was most impressive. He was always punctual, took care within the work areas and spent the necessary time to prepare and sand back all surfaces to get the best outcome for our home. All surfaces were at relatively high levels (30 to 40' above the ground level) in difficult to reach areas. Huascar completed this work with precision and I would not hesitate to recommend him to other colleagues and friends as well as ask for him in future projects.

Highly recommended. I had Oscar and his time paint the entire exterior and trim on my house... and it's a not your average house, or painting project. On time every day, additionally jobs quoted promptly and at a reasonable price. I've run my business for 35 years, and have a lot of painting and sub-contract work done. Its hard to find a company that really has a passion for what they are doing, Oscar and Ethereal Painting, have that passion, and in general are really nice, honest people to have around your house for a few weeks. Five start on pricing, service, and completion date! I wish I had another project for them... I miss the smiles and the jokes :)

Oscar came to our rescue when one painter said we had too big of a job, and then the second painter was doing a bad job… We had a very short timeframe and Oscar was able to help paint our walls right before we moved in so that the home felt fresh and new for us. We found Oscar around a month ago, while doing multiple renovation projects for our STR business. Every project had its time limits, all of them were different and had unpredictable problems arising along the way (ex. chemical reactions on the walls with paint). Yet every project was done on time, exactly as predicted and explained to us before we started, all unforeseen circumstances were dealt with immediately, and the price was on point! If you are looking for great painters, you found them.

What an amazing job Huascar did on our deck. It had some years of neglect and he gave us sound advice and options. His work was professional and his passion for providing high quality result was evident. He not only sanded our entire deck but even made repairs. The high quality of paint is clear. We used a very light colour and I have been able to easily wash of dirt and spills with the hose - just as promised. I look forwarded to calling on him again for our next project. I highly recommend!

Oscar and Pele were exceptionally professional and very skilled. They really knew all the details and gave me excellent advice for what was necessary vs a luxury option. I'm beyond delighted with the finished result and would highly recommend them. They were also very accurate regarding their time frames and able to work around delays from some other contractors. We hired Oscar to paint our condo. He was great with us. He took the time to let us chose a few colors and painted the samples on the walls so we could get a better idea of what we wanted. We have a popcorn style ceiling that is somewhat delicate in spots and he was able to make it look great and new. He definitely gets in their head first!

Our experience with Huascar was fantastic! He removed our popcorn ceiling and painted it. We had 20 year old sponge paint on the walls that he sanded off beautifully. He is very polite and extremely professional. No short cuts for him. Liked his work so much we're going to continue on in the rest of the house using him.
