Decided to use Dawson as their reviews were great. Had 3 ceiling fans Installed, unfortunately one was defective and stopped working soon after installation. Dawson then sent out electricians to look at the fan 5 days later, both electricians agreed the fan was faulty. Instead of replacing it or offering a refund on the day, they filed a warranty claim with the fan manufacturer who has a very poor reputation for warranty claims (Brilliant Lighting). I don't blame the electricians, they were very polite and I assume just doing what they were told from their boss. After numerous emails to their front of desk telling them that I would like a refund or replacement, and that I did not want to wait for the manufacturer of the fan to file a warranty claim, which from other customer reviews could have taken up to 3 months to fix, I was simply told it was a warranty issue and shrugged off. Under Australian consumer law, a retailer or supplier has to replace or refund their customers if the product they have sold has a major fault, which in my case did. It was only agreed to be replaced until I left a 1 star google review and threatened to make a complaint to the ACCC as Dawson was breaking Australian consumer law. After speaking to the owner Kristine, she agreed to replace the fan, She also asked if I would consider removing my negative google review. It took 10 days to replace the fan after kicking up a huge fuss and spending hours of my own time reading up on Australian consumer law to realize that Dawson was defiantly in the wrong and businesses cannot do this to consumers. They cannot send their customers to the manufacturer in the case of major faults. If the fan was replaced when it should have been, 5 stars end of story, but this is unacceptable. Do not take advantage of consumers that don't know the law and will simply roll over and give up. It is not their fault that you are dealing with a bad manufacturer who has bad warranty policies. I went with Dawson last year after seeing all the great Google reviews and having used them previously for a rental property. Unfortunately I've had a terrible experience with 4 fan installations at my personal home. Based on their recommendation, I had 4 Brilliant fans installed in bedrooms, which were noisy, and one didn't work at all from the start due to a fan malfunction. Dawson would not take any of them away or replace them (including the broken one installed on the day they came to put them in - which was left there for 4 weeks and was not replaced immediately, as claimed in the reply from the owner below), saying it was now a warranty issue. They left me to deal with a very lengthy warranty claim, saying the noise relates to a ripple relay problem at my property (which Brilliant in turn said was common in Qld, and Dawson should not have recommended the particular fans Dawson did recommend, for bedrooms). Sadly Dawson still won't take the fans back and is chasing full payment for the job, now through debt collectors (!) after promising me they would not invoice me until the problem was resolved - which it is still not. Has been an awful experience, really disappointing after I was trying to support a local business. Further, it is concerning to see the dishonest reply below - there was no replacement of the malfunctioning fan "immediately" as represented below (it took 4 weeks). And the noise problem was never resolved - it was not a 'change in mind issue' and fans were not in 'perfect working order'. Further, it was not a 'Ripple Relay issue' - I spent over $200 and hours looking into this, including having a filter installed which made zero difference. These guys are dishonest and will mislead you as to your rights with warranties and faulty products. If you're not happy with your product or service with them, don't expect them to do a thing to help you.

0 STARS IS MORE DESERVING ! How long does it take to replace 2 lightbulbs ? How much was I invoiced for the replacement of 2 lightbulbs ? $479.31 Absolutely disgraceful! Yes I sent photos of the lights AS REQUESTED. The electrician arrive 30 minutes late obviously unprepared as there was no mention on the photos sent and didn’t have the light bulbs which should have been organised prior to his arrival. So he stayed all of 10 min. I was informed that the replacements globes had to be ordered . I then said to the electrician I won’t be charged extra for you returning to replace the bulbs and he said no. Well I had to chase up the order after not receiving any correspondence for 2 weeks……as promised. He was 30 min late again and and the fitting of the light bulbs took all of 5- 10 minute I’m being generous. I received an invoice for 2 call out fees of $ 190each for the sum of $380 (I am no more 5 km away) and almost to $100 for the lightbulbs. The 2 call outs fees were no fault of mine. I am absolutely livid as I asked for 2 replacement lightbulbs sent the pictures, the first call out wasn’t even necessary but I got invoiced $190 for each 5-10min attendance ! $380 for two 10 min visits of opening the glass cover and replacing the globe. No I don’t recommend Dawsons Electrical and I don’t condone any business asking for reviews on the their invoice!

Dawson Electric did an excellent job in performing some switch panel re- wiring/consolidation/ reorganization at our home. They were honest from the onset when assessing the required work and not over quoting for an upgrade that wasn't required. They suggested just a few breakers could be replaced with modern ones and circuits spread out which would also free up more space. The Electrician that did the work was top notch, friendly, professional. The work was of the highest quality. He tested everything, made sure everything was labeled well, troubleshooted a circuit that a previous renovation had incorrectly done, and left the home as clean as when he arrived. Dawson's pricing is honest, well detailed, and not over priced. I highly recommend them.

I had Jack and his offsider come to my place for an electrical board upgrade and fire alarms upgrade. They were both amazing, they were polite, on time, considerate of my situation, friendly and professional. They completed the works fast and also they endured constant harrassment from my little dogs which they appeared to enjoy to some descript. I found these guys online as I didn't know anyone around to do electrical work, but I will absolutely be loyal to this company for electrical work. I can't fault them and also can't stress enough how great it is to have decent humans who are trustworthy enter your home. Fantastic company whom obviously cares about customer service and pre and post care. Highly recommend.

We have been using Dawson Electrical as our “go to” Electrical service people over a number of properties for two years now when they happily attended between Christmas and New Year to assist a power restoration. Kristine and the team are easy and a pleasure to deal with. Quotes are provided before time and closely attended to with changes notified. Tradespeople are respectful and pleasant to deal with also. Importantly for us I know I can text Dawson Electrical and the job will be reliably done with no bill padding with no fuss. Set and forget. True professionalism in a time when this is not always experienced with trades. Highly recommended.

THE STANDARD Today I had the pleasure of meeting Bailey onsite to upgrade and install new hard-wired smoke alarms. I was 15 minutes early but Bailey was onsite before me, setup and ready to go. Immediately he provided some advice in relation to the number of smoke alarms, which I agreed. A quick call to his office and an updated quote we were able to go ahead with the install. After being in the ceiling cavity to install the alarms, it was though he was never onsite. Clean, tidy, wiped and not so much as a hand-print or mark in the house. Thanks for being a true professional and delivering a great service with a no-hassle attitude.

After finding Dawson Electric on a google search this morning, I read the reviews and decided to give them a call about getting an electrician out asap to fix some internal and external lights, a light switch and a fan at our home. I was pleasantly surprised that the customer servicer operator was able to set me up with an electrician for this afternoon. Mark arrived and was super professional and quick with his work, even cleaning his hardworking “dirty” fingerprints off the light fittings after installing them By far and away the best service we have had in recent years and will stay with Dawson Electric! I reached out to Dawson Electric to complete some extensive work on my property. The price was actually cheaper then what was quoted and the price was very good. They called prior to arrival and were able to complete the work 1 week from the original quote. The workman were both professional and kept checking in while I worked from home to make sure the lights were in the correct position etc. And then apologized for interrupting me (this was completely fine). The whole job was done in a speedy manner without the cost of workmanship. Overall I'm happy with the total service provided and will use Dawson Electric again.

I just had a powerpoint installed and some other electrical switches relocated, and I have to say Mark was amazing and the entire team at Dawsons were a pleasure to deal with. Kat gave a no-nonsense over the phone quote and got everything booked in smoothly; Bianca in their office kept me up to date on scheduling, and offered me a quicker turnaround time when the option became available; and Mark was incredibly professional, good natured and a pleasure to have in my home. After having a larger firm quote 5x the price for the same job, I couldn't be happier with the service and pricing I got from Dawsons.

I recently contacted Dawson Electric to install a fan and porch light and run a new circuit to my hot water system and check some wiring in my fuse box.. Kristine was very helpful and efficient when I booked the job and gave me a firm time for the tradesmen to arrive. Joel and Patrick arrived on time and completed the job in a professional and timely manner. My concerns about the previous wiring of my air-conditioning by another business were addressed and the wiring setup explained to me in terms I could understand. We got Dawson to fit some new down lights in our kitchen this week and they did such a great job. Kristine from Dawson contacted me prior to the job to take the details and let me know that Brad, the electrician, would be in touch on the day. Sure enough, Brad called to let me know he was on his way. When he arrived he was kind and professional and best of all - quick! He explained what he would be doing before he did it so I was left with no questions or confusion. He cleaned up after himself and the lights are modern and bright. All in all, 5 star service. We engaged Dawson Electric to install new suspended LED panel lights from a 4m high suspended slab ceiling (not easy!), install new exterior sensor lights, install a new kitchen power outlet and finally install a new induction cooktop. Joel, Sam and Jake were all incredibly professional and courteous. Work was completed on time and as per the quote, and the final results are stunning. Pricing was entirely reasonable too, considering the total size of the job. I absolutely and unreservedly recommend Dawson Electric.

Connor and Josh installed a PowerPoint in a difficult spot in our unit. Two previous electricians said they couldn’t do it. Called Dawson Electrical and they came a few days later. Two PowerPoints installed and smoke alarms replaced with no issues and everything is perfectly fitted and where I needed it to be. They tidied up after themselves and left it all spotless. So professional, respectful and even very quiet as they new my grandson was napping when they were here! Would highly recommend Dawson Electrical.

Have used Dawson now on two occasions after changing from my previous electrician. On the first call they handled installing smoke alarms in our rental property to meet the new Qld guidelines. The second occasion today to upgrade some switches. Have found in both occasions quick efficent service on booking, quoting, billing and most important turning up at the time they scheduled & providing trouble free work. Will certainly be using ongoing based on such service.

Can't recommend Dawson highly enough. Our technician, Jack, was punctual, professional, and did very good work. He checked in with us at critical points to make sure the job was done to expectations. My outdoor light fitting was faulty and tripped the circuit resulting in no lights. I emailed on Sunday for Monday early repair and was contacted at 6.30am Monday offering an electrician for 7.30am. I had Dawson electric come out to my house to find a fault I had going on with my power always cutting off, in particular Liam who Had come to do the job arrived on time and was well mannered and presented, he got right into the job, found and resolved my problem was quick and professional. Dawson Electrical installed a large split system Air con, with power back to the switch board, installed two new fans, installed additional power points and ran a TV antenna cable to a new TV point.
